Dear nairaland, I am a fresher of electrical electronic engineering at a university,I have been reading a lot of threads on NL concerning graduates who finished as an engineer in universities but having little or no knowledge in practicals of their specialisation turning them to half baked and sometimes jobless due to the fact that university only teaches theory with litlle or no practical application (as they say).
The last thread I read on NL was about an electrical engineer who doesn't know how to use a tester....my question is that is there any certification I can do during my undergraduate days in my area of specialisation (elect elect engr) to increase my potential in the job market?

18 is okay to start. I will advise u to go for her. Talk to her with a smile dancing around ur face. Dont be overly serious. . Tell her how u feel about her. Do it as soon as possible so within the next 2 weeks u will have more time to furthet woo her before she leaves. And she will also have enough time to brood over it. I want u to experience at least 1 heart break before u turn 21. It will ginger and motivate u to hustle more and want to make it early in life,

Fellow nairalanders, there is this girl who started living with a neighbour of mine like 2 months ago,the girl and I mostly pump into each other a lot but whenever I see her I do lose my courage of talking to her and whenever I talk to her I can't look at her face directly unlike talking to other girls,because of that I secretly stare at her face of which she has caught me a lot but never said anything... sometimes I do visit the neighbour she is staying with for no reason just to see her face.. whenever she smiles,her smile melt my heart a lot,not to talk of her beautiful face and other sexy part....Recently I noticed she also secretly stare at me(already thinking maybe she feels the same way abt me) but the problem is we both haven't been talking well and she is leaving in two weeks time

Firstly, with these result the probability of getting into a university is very slim like 5%...my advice is to opt for polytechnic to do a course under faculty of environmental studies eg building.. because not all courses there allow a pass

It was a drama, days ago when the admin of the most populous and active online platform of Obafemi Awolowo University, announced to the group the banning of posts relating to valentine.The guy is a deeper life and the group happen to be the best fb group for OAU aspirants with over 43 thousand members. There were over 150 comments in which some agreed with the new rule while others disagreed. What's your say on this? See few of the replies

4a Grading system
Because of the importance of this point I will break it down into 3 parts


OAU as at first year in the University, especially if you are a tech student will give you 5 unit courses.
Most first year students won't understand the importance of the units of a course until it's too late.
Most first year students will spend more time preparing for a 1 unit course than they will spend on a 5 unit course because they don't fully understand the concept of units.
Once they fail or score low in a 5 unit course there GP will need extra effort to recover.
Unlike Unilag that have 3 units as the highest number of units for a first year.

When a student fails a course.
The F will be calculated in the GP, Even if they retake the course and score an A. The effect of the A will be like the effect of a C on their CGPA.

Nobody has any idea how scripts are marked or even marked at all.
You can read and write all the answers you believe are the right answers but low and behold they will provide one with a surprising score and you dear not complain
