Agreed. Budget=allocated figure to spend. That's semantics or grammar.

Now lets get to the main issue. Show me how the budget figures that were posted by Eko ole translate into money for development?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! No, just no!!! Lol. Yoruba may sound sexy to ''you'' but please never believe that everyone sees it that way. Yoruba sounds simply awful to me and many people that i know. Hell, why do you people think Igbos call you ''Yoruba people'' because that is simply the sound we hear when you people talk. Lol at sexy.

Please mention one single song or rap that Ice Prince did in yoruba and please do not say ''oleku'' because that was a yoruba guy singing the chorus. About Dbanj and Wizkid, i guess the answer should be obvious to you, they are yorubas who never left their yoruba enclave so in what language do you expect them to sing in, idoma? Check eLDee he also sings in Igbo because he grew up in Kaduna which has a high Igbo population, so according to your analogy, Igbo must also be sexy for him, a non Igbo, to sing in it?

Major ignorance.

Dont mind the guy. Yoruba people always like to over-emphasize their value. They think the sun rise and set in the SW only.

Walala:

Yoruba language is seen as cool that is why artists like Dbanj, Ice Prince and Wizkid use it freely in their songs without even considering those that can't speak it. Even Tuface ,a non Yoruba sings songs in Yoruba. This is not an insult to Igbo people because it is just what it is. When people speak Igbo, they are seen as "Raz" or Illiterate just because of the tones that exist in the language and how it sounds.

The Igbo language will not die but you guys have to find a way to make it cool so that others can use some words. Words like "Porokotom" just sounds raz.

Like someone said people just sit in Lagos and say nonsense about what they dont know.

Have you been to Enugu or any urban Igbo city to hear what modern Igbo music sounds like?

I was even discussing with a friend about how I think Igbo language being the best naija lingo for rap music. I just didn't want to start a thread about it here, not to appear sectarian.

Try to listen to 'Turu ugo' by Mr
Raw Nwanne ft Minista Busta,
Ransom & Phyno.

www.notjustok.com/2011/10/06/video-premiere-mr-raw-nwanne-turu-ugo-ft-minista-busta-ransom-phyno/

I hope the download link works or lay your hands on Mr raw's album and tell me what you think of Igbo music.

You may not find the catch phrase 'poromkomto' cool, like myself, but I seen other who like it. But then it's just a coinage of Flavour Nabania. It's not an Igbo word.

lmao. I can't believe this dude pulled some rubbish cooked together by some crooked governors forum,

Look here, this is the reality on the ground where governors in the east are saying out loud and clear that they don't have money and can not afford to pay state workers the minimum wage and ACN states vowing to pay.

Osun state state alone is richer than many state's on your dumb list. Are we not talking about the same Osun state that just saved and stashed away 29 billion for infrastructure development.

That's the reality.

Abia state.

Anambra state

ACN govs resolve to pay minimum wage

2011 budget

Osun state's budget is 88 billion

Ekiti state budget is 80 billion

Enugu state budget is 60 billion

Anambra state's budget is 66 billion

Eboyin state is 60 billion

Abia state is 80 billion

I think yours is a sad case of delusions and gross dishonesty.

You're just quoting silly budget figures. Do you even know the meaning of a budget?

Budget=Expenditure

Now the question is, How much of that expenditure goes into recurrent expenses and what is directed to infrastructural projects?

The governors of Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states have said their states are in critical condition, but you a clueless internet soldier knows more than them.

Anyway, you're just troll. Why am I surprised?

So, who is poor and who is financially buoyant.?

Yoruba states or ibo states wey still dey struggle and still unable to pay their own people basic minimum wage?

Hahaha. It's not a surprise. Yaribu people are highly hypocritical in nature.

So it's not rocket science that ACN is filled to the brim with a bunch of hypocrites. They are only trying to look good in the eyes of people. I just pity the gullible Yorubas who are believing them. It's the infrastructures in their states that will suffer their attempt to rob shoulder with the jonses'.

This is the true situation of things,

Other states listed to be in critical

Is the Igbo language dieing? Not in a hundred years. I used to be one of those that believed that the Language was dieing but not any more. I guess it was because i lived in Lagos where the Ajebutter Igbos could only understand but not speak Igbo. That's what people fail to understand. Lagos is not our land, so that explains why some Igbos there cannot speak the language. Before you make such ignorant comment about the death of Igbo language, go to Port-hacourt, Aba, Enugu, Asaba, Onitsha, Abakaliki, Owerri and tell me how many Igbos you'll come across that can't speak the language and even write in it. You can't just sit in Lagos and make such unfounded statement.

The only thing i advocate is that Igbo leaders and business men should try as much as possible to improve the infrastructure in Igboland in order to keep Igbos at home.

Even at that only a few are outright efulefu. A good number can speak Igbo though not impeccable enough.

Children learn a language first from their parents and then perfect it by interacting with it in the environment. That perfection achieved by practicing the language with the larger society is what is missing in some of the 'Lagos bred' kids.

Infact what is it that the Igbos want exactly and what you do say is the solution,  Please articulate your points clearly so we can both understand each other and maybe disagree to agree;

Honey, read and you'll understand.

I hope I am right o. All I'm saying is we have been singing the same tune since forever, using the same tactics yet nothing has changed. I think its time for a different approach. When you hear those who call themselves "TRUE IGBO's" talking, it sounds like they are whining. I'm just saying a new approach is needed.

My dear, for how long would we keep dwelling on the past?! Even Liberia has moved past the war. The Rwandan Hutu's have moved past the clear genocidal attacks of the tutsi on them. Why are we still dwelling on this Biafran issue?! Whats even sadder is that kids who never shot or had to run from areial and artillery bombings sef follow dey shout genocide. #SMH!

I'm glad you finally admitted that you do not know what you are talking. You see the reason why you need to STFU on this matter?

You have no clue of what Igbos want or the challenges they face as a people, and yet you are making opinionated statements.

Like I said in the first page to the OP, this thread was unnecessary, because I knew it would attract your likes.

The OP does not speak for Igbos and he is entitled to his own opinions.

Why are all the silly yaribu people on this thread?

How does it concern an 'ofenmanu' whether Igbo is dying or not?

@post
The answer to your question is that you have to consider that this only happens among Igbos living outside Igboland. It's hard for kids to speak a language fluently if they were not raised where the language is indigenous.

It's a problem but I  think it's way too exaggerated. Igbo is more than alive in Igboland, and the kids there will school you! (just as yoruba is alive in yorubaland and hausa in hausaland).

It's not peculiar to Igbos alone. I've seen some yoruba and hausa kids who struggle with their native tongue. Why? They were raised in territories where their native languages are not the daily medium of communication.

It's funny how Yoruba people live in denials. The SS/SE are fast developing with very financially buoyant states. 3 of out SW states are in very serious financial stress, with barely enough funds to pay salaries, talkless of having anything for development. Yet, you are abusing others of not being developed.

Have you even left Yoruba land to visit other regions before you start screaming about development?

Continue waiting for Awo to wake up from the dead to help you.

Crime / Ondo Commissioner’s Son Arraigned For Robbery by mbatuku1: 8:15pm On Oct 13, 2011
Ondo commissioner’s son arraigned for robbery

Two university students, Messrs. Adetope Solagbade and Odunayo Omodara, were on Thursday in Akure, Ondo State arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court for armed robbery.

One of them, a student of a private university (name withheld), is the son of a serving commissioner in the state.

The duo were arrested by men of the anti-robbery squad on July 5, 2011.

They were charged with four counts of armed robbery and have since being remanded in prison.

A charge sheet marked: MAK/432/2011 obtained by our correspondent at the court showed that the suspects and others at large attacked their victims with dangerous weapons on the fateful date.

They were alleged to have attacked one Prof. Joseph Borede and disposed him and others of valuable items and cash.

The charge reads in part: “That you Adetayo Solagbade (m), Odunayo Omodara (m) on the 5th day of July 2011 at 0930 hours at plot 20 block A GRA, Ilesa Road Akure, did conspire together to comit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 6 (a) and (b) of the Robbery and Fire Arms (Special Provision) Act Cap R II Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.”

The accused persons were said to have invaded the residences of their victims with UTC cutlasses, chiesel, jack knife, mask and other dangerous weapons.

They allegedly dispossessed one Falodun Ayodeji of his HP laptop computer valued at N95, 000 and one crise alarms perfume valued at N4, 250, an offence punishable under Section 1 (2) (a &b) of the Robbery and Firearms Act.

What folks need to understand about Nigeria is that well funded non-controversial blank slate politicians are usually very strong Presidential candidates.  Shagari was a blank slate who was in a party that had most of the powerful money bags in it.  Hence, they had enough money to sell a compelling narrative.  Since people did not know him before, they bought the narrative they were sold without questioning it.  Yaradua was also a blank slate with a well funded campaign. Goodluck Jonathan was also a blank slate with a well funded campaign.

When a politician has been around for a long time they end up having some baggage.  They have moments when they made the wrong decision or a misstatement or a comment taken out of context that robs people off the wrong way.  For some reason, our best leaders have one form of baggage or the Other.  Awolowo's baggage was his misstatements and his role in the civil war.

For example, although I think that Sanusi is a great guy.  A well funded campaign for Sambo will defeat Sanusi in a presidential election.  That is Nigeria.  Islamic banking will be used to make Southerners and Middle-Belters scared of Sanusi.  Sanusi and Sambo will split the North and Sambo will have landslide victories in the SW, NC, SS, and SE and carry the day.

The establishment loves blank slates.  With a non-controversial blank slate you can use strong public relations to shape people's opinion of him or her.

Awo contested close to 3 elections, and he lost woefully.

He was the Buhari of then. Unusable item that kept going into the recycle bin

What have the igbos been singing since?!

We want to be president

We need more states

Genocide

Marginalization

And all sorts of pitiful crap like that. My friend, I am not part of that foolishness. Keep wallowing in self-pity, keep hoping on a cloud. The rest of Nigeria is moving forward. With the exception of the current Enugu State governor, the report coming out of the other eastern states are not positive at all. Nwokem, welu aka ghi du onwe ghi odu.

O! And yes sir, that war was the stupidest thing the Igbos ever did in our history. Indi Igbos are not saints! We are the cause of our own problems. The repairs must start from within before it goes out. How can we rule a nation if we cant rule ourselves. If you like, keep waiting on the actualization of Biafra, if you like, keep tell your kids bedtime stories of how the Hausas are on an ethnic cleansing mission to wipe out Indi Igbo, If you like sef, fly the Biafran National flag in your living room the status quo would always remain what it is,

I wasnt hoping to engender positive sentiments, we as a people are too proud and arrogant to let go of our foolishness. I just hope that the younger generation would step up and start moving away from the old ways that have failed us for over 3 decades

I think it's just the same problem both parties have. Just few words/phrases that need further explaining because they are unique to individual dialects.

Moreover, some dialects share close to 90% similar words/phrases with others. Just the intonations of the speakers that distinct them.
