Wonderful. I also heard (but dont believe) that during the same period of scramble for 'post independence control of Nigeria' some male nurses were shipped to UK for a few months after which they became 'medical doctors'. Lethal and catastrophic short circuiting in those days of the locust!

I was coming home one Saturday evening after a hectic day and found a small bag on the ground. I opened it and behold what I found inside; $20,000 dollars!! Fear first catch me, but I took the bag home and when ...I emptied It, I found some Documents, ID card, ATM card and an Iphone. I thought about throwing the sim away and keep the phone and also dispose the documents and keep the money. After a long thought, I decided to leave things as they were, hoping that the owner would call. Not long after a call came through on the Iphone, I picked and talked with the caller. Apparently it was the owner of the bag coz he named absolutely every content of the bag. We met afterwards and i handed him the bag. he offered me $2,000 dollars but I turned it down , he collected my number and i left. Yesterday he called me and offered me a job at Chevron worth 750,000 Naira per month, a 3 bedroom flat fully furnished, and a 2012 BMW X6 As I was smiling and testing the car my brother just slapped me and said "Oya Oya Oya Wake up eba don ready. grin grin grin grin grin grin

"When this issue came to the front burner, I did what is expected -research. I called for the past INEC forms filled by Buhari the past three times he had contested for this office. In all of them, he filled them properly because there was no provision for proof of certificates/credentials. But now that the Electoral Act (2011?) is asking for proof of such credentials, INEC has complied by including on its forms, this requirement. Again Buhari filled all other sections of this form correctly. But when he got to the section asking for proof of credentials, he deposed to an affidavit.
Without sounding very specific, that was wrong. It is for the candidates to provide proof to claims of certificates, not affidavit.' -Olisa Agbakoba SAN.

Being qualified to rule is different from being qualified to contest. One comes before the other and we cannot by any logic put the cart before the horse and expert peace and good sleep thereafter. I am not a politician and not interested in who wins, my interest is that we should not be forced into another war.

Ozekhome was right on point. Buhari may have qualified for previous elections because there was no requirement to 'attach' evidences of academic claims. Buhari may be eminently quailified but has not satisfied INEC / Constitutional requirement to contest. Fasakin has not been able to explain or pander Ozekhome's observation. Being qualified to rule as Buhari eminently is, must be distinguished from being qualified to contest.
For me, the only other name for a spade is a spade, full stop.

Right now, I have no doubt that almost all top politicians have seen the snag but are putting it aside as point for future election litigation should Buhari win. We the masses of Nigeria must be spared of post election fracas, which is why I call on INEC, God Almighty and all those concerned to clear this issue before the elections. Long live Nigeria.

How would you distinguish between a gaduate of an institution and a visitor or passer -by of the same institution? Certificate, period. I know many people who actually dwelt in Universities without graduating until they left on their own without graduating. Such people short circuit the constitution thro use of arms to rise to high levels, they have not justified the requirement to do so again in a democratic set up. Soldiers needed the trust of rank and file / fire power, rather than certificates to rise in a military set up. The first does not help the second in this case. Period!
PoliticsRe: I’ll Sanction Mbaka If He’s Under My Diocese, Says Onaiyekan by Mbediogu(m): 1:35pm On Jan 05, 2015
TeaParty:

More troubles appear to be staring the controversial Catholic Priest and Founder of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Catholic Archdiocese, Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka, in the face following his statement urging Nigerians to reject President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and vote for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd ) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 14 presidential election.

Speaking to THISDAY in an exclusive interview, the Catholic Bishop of Abuja Metropolitan See, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, said given the rules of the church, Fr. Mbaka ought to be sanctioned.

This came as Onaiyekan cautioned the PDP and opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from campaigns of calumny.

He  stated that prophecies of doom  ahead of 2015 elections notwithstanding, “PDP and APC have no right to disorganise Nigeria.”

Onaiyekan,  commenting on Fr  Mbaka, said the priest went overboard in his statement insinuating that President Jonathan’s administration has been plagued with ‘bad luck’ and poor performance.

Onaiyekan distanced the Catholic Church from Mbaka’s statement,  stating that, “Mbaka will take responsibilities for his own actions. I do not believe in my mind that the way things are in Nigeria, any Catholic priest has the mandate to decide which of the political contestants should be voted for. What most of us will do is to tell people to vote according to their conscience and then, we tell the authorities to allow people to vote freely and fairly.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if most people are not happy with the statement he made. From my reactions, you should see that I do not agree with him. I don’t believe a priest should be doing that.

“But, like I said, Mbaka is a priest of his own type. If he was in my archdioceses, I will have sanctioned him long ago for the kind of things and utterances that he makes. But, he is not under my diocese; he has a Bishop to handle that if there is any need,” the Cardinal observed.

Onaiyekan, rather maintained that Mbaka had earlier made insinuations  that President Jonathan’s wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, will continue in office.
“I hope that people are not thinking that we are sending Mbaka to talk rubbish, how can they think that? If you want to hear anything even not official but at least, authoritative, then, you listen to the bishops. Rather than him and I don’t see any bishop talking that way.”

Meanwhile, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, said Nigerians should avoid hasty generalisation, as the statement of one Catholic priest cannot be taken to represent the voices of more than 30 million Catholics in Nigeria.

Kaigama told THISDAY that though Mbaka could not have been speaking for the Nigerian Catholic Church, Nigerians should avoid making unguided statements and hasty generalisation on national issues like the 2015 general election.

“There are more than 30 million Catholics in Nigeria, Fr Mbaka is just one Catholic, if he makes a statement, it cannot be the voices of more than 30 million Nigerian Catholics speaking.

“So Nigerians should avoid hasty generalisation. Mbaka cannot speak for the church, only the CBCN can speak for the church. Those who are complaining, should go to Fr Mbaka and find out why he is saying what he is saying,” Kaigama said.

The CBCN President informed THISDAY that it is completely out of place for a Catholic priest to be partisan.

“I tell you,  even the Canon Law forbid a priest  to engage in partisan politics,” Kaigama told THISDAY.

Asked if there would be punitive measures meted out to Mbaka, Kaigama said:  “If the law has  been abused, we will ensure that we enforce the law. In this case, it is not the Catholic church; the church did not send him to say those things.

“Mbaka belongs to a diocese, so if the Bishop finds out that he has fallen out of line, the  Bishop can call him to order,” he said.

“Mbaka is just expressing his opinion, if we want to make a political statement, we know how to do it. That we keep quiet and  we are  marginalised, does not mean we don’t have strength. With more than 30 million Catholics,  we  have the  strength,” Kaigama submitted.

The Archbishop of Jos argued that there was no public uproar when the same Mbaka assured the first lady of continuity.

Fr. Mbaka has come under intense condemnation following his sermon last week, lampooning Jonathan’s administration for poor performance.

His  comment had elicited public outcry, especially, among the teeming Catholic population in South-east and South-south parts of the country where President Jonathan has a strong support base. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/i-ll-sanction-mbaka-if-he-s-under-my-diocese-says-onaiyekan/198424/
Nobody should lose sleep over the opinion of mbaka. Have people been obeying clergy before now? If the world have been heeding to opinion of mbaka and his like, then why do we still have criminals among believers? It is because the clergy talk a lot of trash, commit more sins than we do, and fail to live what they preach and as a result have become untrustworthy. All na wash!

Na wa o... is the Nigerian Catholic church OK with this? undecided
I am no a politician but a neutral commentator and scholar. If you see me in that light, then you will understand my views.
What Rev. mbaka said in Nov. and what he is saying now are not the same. One must be a lie. Both coming from the same person is confirmation that mbaka is a lier. The bible says the devil is a lier. Is mbaka representing the devil or the spiritual church of God? That the congregation hailed his recent speech much as they hailed his Nov. speech shows that their understanding as a 'group or mob' is not to be trusted. Jonathan has tried though there is more to do but he cannot be brought down to Buhari level because of election.
Do we need another Lutherian Reformation of the Catholic church of God to whip free wheeling Rev. Fathers into decorum, and restore the respect of our dear church?

Thank you very much for this topic, there's too much emphasis on the FG. While the LG chairmen are the most corrupt and useless of the lots.
According to the constitution, their functions include:
1. Construction and maintenance of
roads, streets, drains and other public highways, parks, open spaces, or such public facilities as may be prescribed from time to time by the House of
Assembly of a State.
2. Establishment, maintenance and regulation of markets, motor parks and public conveniences.
3. Provision and maintenance Of public conveniences and refuse disposal.
4. The provision and maintenance of primary education
5. The development of agriculture and natural resources, other than the exploitation of minerals, and
the provision and maintenance of health services.

Huge amounts are allocated to them monthly yet. ...
The story of LGAs in the country are the same. The LGA headquarter itself is overgrown with weeds and roofs and panels are falling apart. Reptiles everywhere. Workers salaries are hardly paid, and moral is low and as a result discipline becomes scarce. It must be approximately the same nationwide.
What happens is that once allocation arrives, the political godfather takes a non negotiable 50%. His political machinery is well oiled and no political post can be true without his approval. Out of the remaining 50% the chairman and his key staff take half, and cannot be punished since they are protected from EFCC etc by the godfather.
The failure of administration at LGA level is failure at grassroot level. No meaningful progress is possible unless we do a reversal. The whole thing stinks. No one is truely rich who lives in dirty environ and has poor neighbors. Let us all repent.

All other military officers of his time still have their qualification papers with them. Such papers dont belong to the military or any organization, moreso as they are not transferrable. The military board that he claims is still witholding his papers has by logic witheld his eligibility to contest, going by provision of our constitution. He should arrange for their release to INEC post haste so that they can be verified before elections.

gratiaeo:
DECEMBER 18, 2014 BY RAMON OLADIMEJI
{
A Federal High Court in Lagos has entered judgement in favour of an application by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, seeking uniform admission requirements into Federal Government Colleges, otherwise called unity schools.

Agbakoba had sued the Minister of Education, Mr. Ibrahim Shekarau, over the disparity in the admission requirements for students seeking to study in the unity schools.

Delivering judgement in the suit marked FHC/L/CS/1358/2013 on Wednesday, Justice James Tsoho held that such disparities in admission requirements into the Federal Government colleges were against the spirit of Section 42(1) of the 1999 Constitution.

The judge held that since the Constitution was supreme, it would automatically override any administrative law or policies adopted by the Ministry of Education.

The court therefore ordered Shekarau to apply uniform admission requirements, especially cut-off marks, to all candidates seeking admission into unity schools across the country.

In a 19-paragraph affidavit filed in support of his suit, Agbakoba had stated that since the inception of the unity schools, the Federal Government had maintained disparities in admission requirements.

He noted in particular that the Federal Government prescribed different cut-off marks based on the candidates’ gender and their states of origin.

He therefore sought a declaration of the court that the action of the education minister in prescribing and applying different requirements, including cut-off marks, to candidates seeking admission into unity schools was in violation of the Constitution.

He asked the court to grant an order of perpetual injunction restraining the education minister from all further acts of discrimination in admission to the unity schools.

its not new na..even the devil himself practically lives in church
.

You are quite right but the devil is in us so we take him everywhere we go including the churches and mosques. The devil cannot be found where you and I dont go. Let us drive the devil within us before all else. Have you not heard about pastors and imams engaging in 419, kidnapping, rape and ritual murder? Those are the ones who are overwhelmed by the devil within but prefer to continue to masquerade as servants of the living God. We as individuals can do more than those churches and mosques.
