Politics / Nigeria Is Lost! Z And Millennial Generation On The Search! by Mbeki: 10:49pm On Oct 18, 2020
On Saturday,April 6, 2013, the then Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Honourable Rotimi Amechi said in a function in Ekiti State “Yes, revolution can happen outside Nigeria. But here, I do not think so. Tell me what happened in Sudan, Libya, Zimbabwe and other countries that have not happened here. Our elasticity has no limit. You do not pray for electricity to be regular but you know that some Nigerians pray ‘God, let the light be stable today.’ We pray without working to solve our problems and we think God will do what we are supposed to do for us.”
As at the time the above statement was made, a certain generations of Nigerians, that belong to a global set of generation were about 15 years of age. They are called Generation Z. Generation Z are the people born between 1997 to 2012. As at 2013, they were naïve, still learning more about their environment and still wondering why their lifestyle is different from their peers in other countries they watch in the movies and TV.
Fastforward to 2020, the Z generation, teamed up with the digital Millennial whose stock in trade is to question laid down norms and challenge the status quo. They are smart, witty, creative, unassuming, bold, active and restless. They watched with keen interests, the promises and body languages of the elites and the political class. The political and elite class took them for granted, neglected their welfare just as they did to the more laid back generation X and Y. They watched the education system deteriorate, while they send their children and wards, to other countries that have fixed their education systems, they watched the industries die one after the other with anti-people policies and programmes. The Z and millennial generation were left with no hope, no aspiration, no goals or future plans. Sadly, they watch their age mates, children of politicians or politically connected, travelling abroad and coming back with masters degrees in less than 4 years, while they wait years on end, waiting to graduate from their Bachelors degree programmes from tertiary institutions that spent more time on labour strikes than in classrooms.
The political class and the elite, used, abused and certainly didn’t consider these generations in their scheme of things. These generation, tolerated everything thrown to them. Left with no options, the youth resort the only formidable industry of the millennium, the ICT industry, Z and Millennial generation are the graphics artiste, programmers, web developers, digital Djs, forex and crypto currency traders and digital marketer.
But they have one major obstacles and enemy to their progress, the older generation, whose only source of livelihood is control and abuse of power and economy using state security. The old generations were amazed that a youngster can make money without opening an office but just by punching on the keys on a laptop. Not so soon, the new generations were labeled cybercriminals, anybody with a laptop is seen and perceived as a yahoo boy.
The Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad-SARS, left their official duties of response to armed robbery attacks and kidnappings to hijacking the job of the Economic and Financial Crimes –EFCC of tracking and apprehending cyber criminals. For SARS operatives, any youth dressed in a particular fashion, donning a crazy hairstyle is a cybercriminal, they attack and extra-judicially execute innocent citizens, the political class and the elites looks on paying lip service to all the human right abuses on the youth by government security apparatus that ought to protect them.
Frustrated with the constant killings of their peers, the Z and millennial generation couldn’t take it anymore, with the social media as their rallying ground, they trouped to the streets in major cities in one solidarity, to demand an end to SARS and police brutality. Anti-riot police with their tear gas, hot water canon sprayers, live bullets with which they killed some of the protesters couldn’t stop them. They have been neglected and pushed to the wall, they’ve been termed lazy Nigerian youth, social media and TV realities show freaks, incapable of engaging in politics or participating in the governance of their country.
The government have resorted to all manner of tactics and arm-twisting to quell the #EndSARS protesters to no avail, they acceded to the protesters demand, but the youth are demand more, they threaten to shut down the internet, they brought covid-19 protocols violation as an excuse to slam a ban on the protesters but the youth with information at their fingertips, offloaded tons and tons of pictures where the government themselves, their families and associates have flagrantly disobeyed the covid-19 protocols. The revolution the country has been yearning for years may here, as these generations are adding more demands to the initial ones, they are getting fed up by old generation whose achievements are only on paper and nothing on ground to show for it. They are tired of being used as political thugs, mistresses drug peddlers for these generation. The pent up frustration is much, the schools are closed down due to strike, they students were stranded at time, there was increase in electricity tariff, and hike in fuel price, the generation cannot power their laptops or phone or watch their favourite shows on TV, activities that ordinarily will keep them at home. The #EndSARS provide opportunity to vent out the pent up fury.
It is not late for the elite and the political class to swallow their pride, apologize to the youth for all the ill treatment meted to them and map out a framework to address all the issues raised by the youth, commence a programme create better society and make their lives as meaningful as their peers in other climes.
With the police brutality gradually be pushed behind, there is need to revive the educational sector to a point that children and ward of the elites and politicians can school in Nigeria, sports which helps the youth to channel their energies should be rejigged, the lips service that have kept our industries moribund need to change, the ministry of ICT and digital technology should invest massively in ICT training and empowerment of the generation Z and the Millennial, that is where the future is coming from. More importantly, the ministry of power should activate all resources to provide steady and uninterrupted power supply as any modern development is hinged on this.
EndSARS may be the beginning of the protest, but it might lead to more revolutionary demands if not handled carefully. The government need to end among other things, bad governance, robbing of the poor to provide the rich to loot through multiple taxation, tariff and commodities hikes, bogus wages for legislators, ministers and wastage of public resources in the name of running the country.
The government need to act fast and the time is now.

Politics / Edo 2020: Ize-iyamu In Early Loggerhead With Oshiomhole After Traditional Rulers by Mbeki: 12:45pm On Aug 12, 2020
The unexpected is beginning to happen between the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and his ‘principal sponsor’, Adams Oshiomhole, the ousted APC national chairman. Many party members were surprised to notice the two principal APC actors getting involved in early loggerhead following the shameful rejection of the APC candidate in Edo Central Senatorial District on Monday because of the ill actions and maltreatment of the zone by Oshiomhole when he was Governor of Edo State.

National Daily gathered that the APC governorship candidate, Ize-Iyamu, was sent out of the palace of the Enojie of Igueben, His Royal Highness, Ehizojie Eluojierior II, when APC leaders visited the traditional ruler who had earlier invited other royal fathers in the district.

A participant at the disgraceful meeting disclosed that the APC candidate accompanied by the former Edo governor, Oshiomhole, were ordered to leave Esan land by the traditional rulers. They scolded Oshiomhole who in his political fury, abandoned the Edo Central in the eight years of being governor of the state.

The traditional rulers further recalled the dethronement of the Enojie of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anselm Aidenojie 11, by Oshiomhole, who was later reinstated by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

More so, Oshiomhole was accused of taking the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly away from Edo Central. Barrister Andrew Emwata had on Kakaki programme on the AIT on Tuesday monitored by National Daily from Lagos, highlighted that when Edo South takes the governor, Edo North takes the deputy governor, then, the Speaker of the State Assembly is zoned to Edo Central. He said that Oshiomhole subverted the power sharing scheme, punishing Edo Central. This, Emwata said, was reversed by Governor Obaseki who zoned the Speaker of the House to Edo Central.

Emwata further said that because Oshiomhole suddenly realized that APC is going for the governorship election campaign in Edo Central, he quickly manipulated the illegal appointment of Speaker of the House from Edo Central, and attempting to dethrone the legal Speaker of the House from Edo Central installed under the leadership of Obaseki. According to Emwata, Ize-Iyamu has denied that the illegal inauguration of the renegade 14 APC lawmakers was not done at his residence.

Emwata had earlier said that Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu and other APC members were walked out of the palace of the Enogie of Igueben.

The earlier palace source who observed the humiliation of the APC candidate at the meeting revealed that Ize-Iyanu turned to blame Oshiomhole for his misdeeds that are causing them election misfortunes across the state. He added that the ousted APC national chairman responded, telling him to be courageous to take responsibility for his actions.

The palace source was cited to have highlighted: “The two unwanted visitors engaged in hot exchange of unpleasant words in Igueben after they were told to leave Esan land by the monarchs who had converged on Igueben for the cold reception.

“In the ensuing hot exchange of words, Ize-Iyamu blamed Oshiomhole for his woes in Esan land and other parts of Edo State where they have faced similar rejection since the party commenced campaigns.

“We overheard Oshiomhole saying he couldn’t be blamed for all Ize-Iyamu’s problems. The former APC national chairman said there can be no smoke without fire and told the governorship candidate to be courageous enough to take responsibility for some of his past actions.”
Politics / Coalition Writes Buhari, Lists 14 High Profile Corruption Cases Against Malami by Mbeki: 11:41am On Aug 12, 2020
August 2, 2020 President Mohammadu Buhari has received 14 high profile corruption allegations against the country’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said to be one of the President’s closest allies.

The allegations range from financial sleaze involving him and his family to influence peddling. In a letter sent to the President at the weekend, tagged Compilation of Corruption Allegations and Abuse of Office Against the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice three leading anti-corruption groups call for immediate probe of the Minister.

The groups said the immediate option before the AGF is to resign and give way for full inquiry into the grand allegations that seem to portray the AGF as stunningly corrupt. In the petition, President Buhari was urged to put in motion the Public inquiry or risk legal fireworks from lawyers in the country.

“It has to be now or never. There are very strong allegations of corruption against Mr Abubakar Malami with clear evidence. President Buhari should act now. We have listed these corruption cases after painstaking compilation of high profile corruption cases involving the country’s No 1 law officer. The President must act without delay”, the group said in the petition signed by Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC), Chairman, Mr Olanrewaju Suraju, Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL Chairman, Mr Debo Adeniran and Co-founder, Say No Campaign, Ezenwa Nwagwu. The CSNAC is a coalition of some 150 civil society spread across the country.

The coalition said the response of President Buhari to the allegations has the prospect of determining the future of the anti-corruption campaign in the country.

“We are perturbed by these reports considering the revered position occupied by Mr. Malami, being the number one law officer of the country. Some of the allegations as conveyed in the media reports go to the root of breakdown of law and order and total disregard for the rule of law. These allegations serve as a slap in the face to your Excellency’s administration foremost goal of ridding the Nation of corruption. These allegations are totally opposite the core objectives of your administration and international perception of the country”, the three groups wrote in the petition to Buhari.

Top on the list is the alleged auctioning of sea vessels holding crude oil seized by the Federal Government, violating Section 31(2) and (4) of the EFCC Act 2004. “The AGF also authorized the sale of these vessels by companies under EFCC prosecution for similar offence of illegal bunkering and this action was admitted by the AGF through his media aide pleading presumption of innocence on the part of the accused, in the case being prosecuted by the Federal Government through EFCC,” the groups wrote quoting a string of earlier media reports.

They accuse Malami of twisting the law to shield his family members, corrupt officials and institutions in the most brazen manners. Malami was said to be responsible for the reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) into the Federal Civil Service Commission without due process. He was said to have filed for the discontinuation of a 25billion Naira criminal charge against Senator Danjuma Goje without any justification, after over 7 years of diligent investigation and prosecution by the EFCC, whereas in June this year, he allegedly withdrew criminal charges against soldiers who were accused of killing police officers and a civilian in the bid to aid the escape of Wadume, a millionaire kidnapper.

The coalition said that on November 18, 2018, Mr Malami, through a lawyer from his office, Mr Pius Akuta, came to Lagos High Court to withdraw a case of fraud filed by EFCC against one Dr. John Abebe, a businessman and younger brother to late Stella Obasanjo but the EFCC resisted the illegal move before Justice Dada of the Lagos High Court on the ground that the AGF has no constitutional power to take over a case filed in Lagos High Court.

Other examples listed included the withdrawal of the case against the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr Danladi Yakubu for criminal charges, demand for the withdrawal of the cases against Bello Adoke, Diezani Alison-Madueke and others involved in the Malabu scandal and his halting investigation of huge fraud in Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NISRAL).

The Malabu scam involves the controversial OPL 245 which has seen Nigeria recover some $78 million from individuals already convicted in Italy as oil giants linked with the graft continue to face prosecution in Milan.

The AGF was said to have sent a letter ordering the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission, (ICPC) and the Department of State Services, (DSS) and the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit, (NFIU) to all stop probe of the NIRSAL scam. He was said to have described the investigations as an "unhealthy competition" and "sheer waste of government resources".

Malami is also accused of being the kingpin in the alleged duplicity of payment of $16.9 million fees to two friends as new lawyers for the recovery of the loot traced to a former Nigerian Head of State, Sanni Abacha, after a Swiss lawyer hired and fully paid by the previous government, Enrico Monfrini, to help in the recovery had completed his brief as reported.

Malami was said to have barred the prosecution of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Mohammed Inde Dikko, through a suspicious deal between the AGF and the Immediate past DSS Director on one side and the Comptroller General of Customs to refund $8 million to the Federal Government. The case was discontinued as Justice Dimgba refused to allow further prosecution of this matter under the guise that Mr. Dikko had kept his promise under the agreement by refunding N1,576,000,000 and more to the FG through the EFCC funds recovery account in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The FG earlier accused Mr. Dikko of stealing over N40 billion.

The groups said its investigations and media reports suggest that Malami own assets worth billions far ahead of what he owned before his appointment as the country’s AGF. Some of the properties listed in his name were a multimillion naira Rayhaan Hotels worth about N500million, located at opposite Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Zaria Road, Kano State, a property worth about N600million Naira locate at Ahmadu Bello Way, Nasarawa GRA, Kano, a newly constructed school at the back of Nitel at Gesse Phase 1, Birni Kebbi worth about N700million, a multi million Naira property built by Mr. Malami for his son located at Gesse Phase II in Birni Kabbi worth over N400 million, a mansion known as Azbir Arena allegedly built by Mr. Malami for his second son. Azbir Arena an entertainment centre worth over N3 Billion, with a big plaza and kids playing centre and hotel all combined in one expansive property.

The groups accused Mr. Malami of other misconducts like using the official letterhead of the office of AGF to seek support for his son’s wedding and that he encouraged the defacing of Naira and other currencies to the embarrassment of the country and in violation of section 21(1) and (3) of the Central Bank Act, 2007. During the wedding of his son, Mr. Malami was also accused of allowing the breach of Covid-19 protocol and regulations putting the lives of Nigerians at risk. In Ghana recently, a similar incidence led to the resignation of a minister for breach of the country’s Covid-19 protocols.

The coalition stated “At ICPC, Mr Malami also displayed his unpretentious hatred for the fight against corruption by writing a letter dated 16th December, 2016 withdrawing the case of fraud filed against Mr. Godsday Orubebe, the former Minister of Niger Delta, in a case involving over N1.97billion, on the ground that in his opinion, there was no basis for filing the charge against him.”

“We strongly believe that the above allegations are deserving of thorough, immediate and urgent investigation through an independent panel of inquiry and the Attorney General suspended from office pending the conclusion of this investigation; the veracity or otherwise of these allegations is essential for the sanity of the public service.”

The groups said “the law presumes any allegation as a suspicion until the suspect is so proven guilty; we as organizations, relentless in seeing transparency and accountability actualized and that due process is deployed in investigating corruption, abuse of power and office belief the allegations leveled against the Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami is deserving of your urgent action.”

The coalitions said they believe in the prevalence and sanctity of the rule of law. “We believe in due process which is why we have forwarded this petition to your Excellency for proper and diligent investigation and timeous action in order to restore the sanity of the core mandate of your administration to fight corruption which is at the verge of collapse as a result of the alleged abuse of power and office by the incumbent Attorney General and Minster of Justice.”

The FBI says that over 70 different businesses were defrauded of the amount. The fugitives are accused of sending spoofed emails to thousands of businesses requesting fraudulent wire services.

The Nigerians are also accused of working with money launderers, romance scammers, and others involved in BEC schemes “through a complex web of witting and unwitting people in the United States and abroad.”

Politics / Southerner Are Slaves To North, We Will Not Relinquish Power 2023 by Mbeki: 4:03pm On Jan 24, 2020
ANALYSIS: SOUTHERNER ARE SLAVES TO US, WE WILL NOT RELINQUISH POWER COME 2023. ALIYU GWARZO.
Nigeria is said to a single entity although with lot of ethnic groups and communities. The language, cultural and religious diversity in the Nation of over two hundred million individuals is what we should have harped upon in developing our society but the reverse is the case.

Just of recent, Aliyu Ismaila Gwarzo who was a National Security Adviser to the then Nigerian military ruler Sani Abacha issued a statement that got the nerves of Nigerians especially the southerners. My first wonder was that, if not for the way we run Nigeria, someone who has been linked to theft of $2.45 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria, should he still have the guts to say these things that he has said?

Among the things he said in his statement is that the North has remained a mystery to the southerners and it is very difficult to understand the North despite the boastful nature of the south that it is better than the North especially in terms of education and civilization. He queried what the education and civilization has done to the people of the south.

Most important of his words comes at the point he spoke about governance in Nigeria. According to him, "We Fulani toss a small bone to you from our table and you betray and fight each other like dogs for it. You crawl before us and beg us for crumbs."

Is this the reality? Isn't this true?

He further described the southerners as "nothing more than beggars, cowards and contented slaves."

When we asked our people to raise their voice in unison, will they do that?

But let's take a look at it, the educated ones in the south have that much ego and i-don't-care attitude about a lot of things thereby leaving the future of the region in the hands of mediocre. Isn't it?

He also predicted the future saying that the future of the children from the south is the hands of their own children as well as leadership flows in their blood and nothing can change that.

Do we actually need to mention the names of the past leaders in Nigeria since independence to confirm his stand? Little wonder, the Miyetti Allah cattle herders could openly ask the south-west governors to drop Amotekun security outfit or forget the hope of clinching to power in 2023.

Making reference to the conquest of Osman Dan Fodio, Saurdana, Sir Ahmadu Bello among others, Gwarzo said President Muhammadu Buhari is in power to complete the job of regaining Nigeria for them.

Is this true? Well, take a look at federal appointments.

He accepted the fact that they are from Futa Toro and Futa Jalon but they have conquered the North and every part of it belongs to them at this particular point in time. He added tha Fulanis from other countries such as Mali, Guinea, Niger, Chad et al have the right to be with them in Nigeria.

Are you still wondering why the borders in the northern part of the country are still opened when those in the south are locked.

Finally, Gwarzo believes Nigeria is one and they will not allow any one break away.

Where is the future of other regions with these statements from Aliyu Gwarzo?

Are his words not the reality of what is obtainable in Nigeria?

Romance / HELP! I Got Pregnant From My Gateman For My Husband by Mbeki: 12:34pm On Jan 11, 2020
I got married to my husband at the age of 27. We decided not to have kids in our first year of marriage. We both loved the idea, as it gave us enough time to organise our future.

I felt lucky to marry him because I'm loved by every member of his family. He is equally rich so I had all a lady could ever need in marriage.

The year was finally over so it was time for us to have kids. We tried making babies for the first 6 months without success. So we had to consult a medical practitioner. On getting to his office he counselled us, told us to be patient and asked us to return after three months.

We returned to him as instructed. He did some series of test and recommended some drugs. But after some time we got tired of relying on doctors and decided to wait on God.

A friend of mine who knew what was going on gave me an advice that changed my whole story. She asked me to have carnal knowledge with my gate man. At first I refused, but she insisted that's the quickest way to get a child. Since I don't want to lose my husband to another lady, I agreed to her words.

At first seducing my gate man was difficult, but after I promised to increase his salary he finally accepted. I only slept with him twice, next I got pregnant. My husband was at work when I put to bed. He was excited when he heard the news, unknown to him the baby was not his.

Nemesis caught up with me when I finally put to bed. It started at the hospital when my husband was called to see his baby. I notice the look on his face, but I kept mum hoping he will react. But he kept quiet, smiled, and took me home.

Last night he broke his silence and request for a DNA test. My heart almost came out of my mouth. It dawned on me that I've been caught, but I insisted he's his child. After much argument we agreed to see a doctor in a week time.

I'm totally confused. I thought I was doing him good by giving him a child, but my good has become evil. I don't know if I'm to secretly plan with the doctor or run away before he finds out. Anyone with similar experience should pls tell me what to do.

Ogbunigwe or Ojukwu Bucket as referred to be the Nigerian Federal forces

Very deadly home made Biafran multipurpose bomb produced by the Weapons and Equipment Workshop subsequently subsumed under the Research and Production (RAP) Organization. Ogbunigwe was based on the physics of the “Monroe” effect. It killed and maimed by wave effect percussion and dispersal of shrapnel. It was shaped either as a cone or cylinder and could be used as a land mine, a ground to ground projectile against troop concentrations or ground to air anti-personnel “air burst” cluster bomb.
Just imagine the high-tech weapons then. By now, North Korea, Russia and the US, will be learning from Biafra. The Nigerian Army we have now are cow ranching and estate development military.

I salute those youth really. Those items were being horded for the next election. In that zone, if one does not belong to a political party, nothing for you.
