I am a man of God too but i concur with this statement below. chosen04: bibiking1:These men can not choose to hug the limelight in ways that suit that selfish interests. Whether you belief in the God as depicted by Christainity or not, it is a generally accepted fact that the Church in Nigeria wields enormous power among the populates, even the thieving elite.Yet Church leaders have grown mutewhen they need to speak, blind when they need to see clearly and deaf to the pain that is all around them (some actually insulate themselves from the pain around them). The earlier the masses smell the coffee and take the bull by the horn themselves, the better. All these Bishops and popes are making a mockery of God and rendering civil action impotent. |
MI would have won more respect if he stuck to laughing off the diss like he did with his tweeter post. This reply is wack, lame and unnecessary. If he maintained the tempo by keeping people and kelly handsome in suspense and never saying anything for years, he would have been crowned a winner. choc boys just fall my hand for this diss. their level don suppose pas this one. you can bet dbanj will ignore kelly and that will be a knock out. |
i guess this naijaking1:aplies to this E nice:so can we end the argument? Since every one is innocent. Let the looters continue in peace and let the mallam governor continue in peace too. Or is there another spin to it? |
naijaking1:you will make a good comedian. kai, you funny die. Alleged my foot. |
Olu Falae, founder of Eiye? I NEVER HEARD THATY BEFORE. man dey learn new things everyday. very interesting. |
Me sef:With all due respect, there is no truth in the highlighted part. The root of the problem was mismanagement (more of recklessness) pure and simple. It has been there all along.just that Soludo was in bed with these cowboys and girls, hence his hands were tied because he was compromised. To a lesser degree, it is still there because Sanusi does not have the backing (political will) to carry out a wholistic clean up and secondly he lacks the tact and temparement for it. |
Me sef:Was the highlighted part a typo? He should give taxpayers money to the same reckless bunch that mismanaged the bank in the first place? How does that make sense? SLS has his faults and most of them have been noted on this site severally but one thing he achieved is that he has driven the fear of God into the hearts of these cowboy bankers. Now they look well before leaping. The days of publishing c.r.a.p. in the name of annual report is gone, the days of opening branches in every street corner and even two on the same street are long gone.boards of directors will sit up and question their CEOs not just collecting sitting allowance and giving complimentary cards to girls and relativ es to secure jobs in banks. the painful p[art is that Sanusi is just dealing with symptoms. The root cause can not be dealt with due to the Nigerian factor. Even he in his agrresive manner is not big enough to deal with it,unfortunately. |
TEE ZERO:No you don't. rest your case, my friend. |
05.03.2010 Where will the incoming chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stay? That is the question that has emerged following revelations that the outgoing Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu, bought the No. 33 Ona Street, Maitama, Abuja residence of INEC boss under the monetization programme of the immediate past President Olusegun Obasanjo regime. The house was procured by former INEC boss Dr. Abel Guobadia for over N100 million to serve as residence of the commission’s chair at all time. Guobadia stayed in the house during his tenure and left when his tenure ended in 2005. The residence called Election House is fitted with all security and electoral gadgets and from there the INEC chairman can monitor electoral activities and election results at the commission’s ICT centre in Maitama and across the states. THISDAY learnt the idea of procuring a permanent place as residence of INEC chairman was conceived around 1999 by late Justice Ephraim Akpata when he was chairman of the commission. He had reasoned that renting a property to serve as residence of INEC boss could have its effects on the conduct of elections. According to INEC sources, Akpata had asked then-what if the prospective landlord is a chairman of a political party, how do you rule out favouritism when the landlord’s party is involved in an election? Akpata stayed in a rented apartment throughout his period as INEC chair until he died in January 2000. But his successor, Guobadia, saw the sense in Akpata’s proposal and the need for a permanent residence for INEC chairman and as such got the commission to procure the property. Under the monetization programme, the occupant of a government house is given the first option of buying or refusing to buy. The Director of Media and Publicity of INEC, Mr. Emmanuel Umenger, declined comments on the development last night when THISDAY sought to speak with him on the sale of INEC chair’s residence. But the question is why sell the house said to be strategic to the operations of INEC chairman? Uproar had greeted former Inspector-General of Police Sunday Ehindero’s moves to acquire the IG residence in Maitama, Abuja given the strategic nature of the house. The sale was later reversed by the Federal Government. |
naijaking1:you no dey tire? Haba!!! Sanusi thief your babe? This your wailing without logic don pass another thing. How can anybody be quoting Pat Utomi in this matter? What did you expect him to say? - PHB are guilty as charged. - I failed in the discharge of my duties as a director of the bank. - I was aloof and probably decieved (or even compromised) while Atuche was going wild with his banking cowboy antics. Apart from buying shares on the floor of the stock market, i wonder how much interactions you have with Nigerian banks? Atuche was just running a personal empire and doing as he pleased. The board (like the board of most Nigerian banks) was just their only in name and were not bothered as long as their personal interests were not threatened.Yet people come to quote Utomi as reference point in a matter he is culpable. Only one who is not observant will not know that saddle called Nigerian banks need cleaning. The books are completely cooked with only one or two exceptions. Like i said, the anual reports are not worth the paper they are printed on. We would not have needed Sanusi's high handedness if Soludo was doing his job.Instead he was dragging the limelight with those he was meant to be regulating. Sanusi has his faults but to blame him for the present predicament is to be blind to the truth. Soludo with his 'paddy paddy' regulation and oversight as a reserve bank governor put us in this c.r.a.p we find ourselves in. You are barking up the wrong tree. I don't care if Jonathan removes Sanisi or not but i am glad that he has thought these rascals a lesson. We as a people will not tolerate the recklessness that brought All States Trust bank and its likes to its knees. There must be accountability in banking. Salvation is far fetched but we must begin somewhere. |
you don't need research to know that their can't be 11 million slum dwellers in lagos state. What is the population of the state? |
Kobojunkie:Kobo stop acting smart. If you have proof of validity of the figure, share it with others. I am curious to how anyone can claim there are 11 million slum dwellers in lagos. C'mon, it is bad but not that bad yet. |
I don't even know why anyone worries his head about BBC when it comes to reports on Africa. They just use the continent as a training ground for new reportewrs and the rules are pretty lax when reporting our continent. Anything just goes because they know it does not matter much. The little respect i had for them was lost it that fraudulent Yar Adua interview. I communicated with the editor that commissioned the broadcast of that interview and the proofs he provided for the authenticity of the hoax was so chilidish and funny. Even AIT would do better. I don't know whether it is naiveity an 'i don't care attitiude' when it comes to Nigeria. As much as i found that documentary fascinating and interesting, no sane person would conclude that the title was not sensationalist and misleading. Instead of acepting the mistake, BBC will just ignore the complaints and move onto another matter. dem no just send. instead of wasting bandwidth flogging this issue, let us vent our anger at the crooks in power to reduce such eye sores in ourt cities. |
Even as a party music it is still crap. all beat and absolutely nothing else. na him be the only person wey dey make party music? i beg, free me. |

Na SSCE i get and my education no plenty but i stand by that statement. Who no like am, make him go hug transformer. Terry G as a producer is good but as an artiste he is wack. case closed. |
Momodu, Ovation Publisher, Joins Presidential Race 05.02.2010 One of Africa’s most famous publishers and THISDAY columnist, Bashorun Dele Momodu, is set to move from publishing to politics. According to sources, the publisher of Ovation International, a leading celebrity magazine, was provoked by the decision of former President Ibrahim Babangida to join the presidential race. THISDAY checks revealed that Momodu has actually been travelling round the world to mobilise young Nigerians to support what he calls “a mission to clean up Nigeria.” His friends believe he’s one of the few Nigerians who have managed to build “a global brand against very daunting odds.” He enjoys a large following of Nigerian youths on Facebook and Twitter. Momodu was a major supporter of Bashorun Moshood Abiola’s presidential bid in 1993. He was detained at the Alagbon detention camp, Ikoyi, Lagos, between July and August 1993 for his political activities. In 1995, he was forced into exile by the General Sani Abacha Military Government, and lived in England as a refugee for three years. He was accused of being one of the brains behind the pirate radio station that was attacking the dictatorship in Nigeria, an allegation he denied vehemently. He started Ovation International during that period, and was a regular Yoruba presenter on the pirate radio broadcast, Radio Freedom, which later became Radio Kudirat, under the pseudonym of Saliu Elenuugboro. He decided to support the pirate radio since he was already punished for being a member of its clandestine operations. He returned from exile in 1998 and expanded his publishing outfit from England to Ghana and Benin Republic where Ovation International is now translated into French. The widely-travelled publisher has been able to build a larger-than-life image and he has a one-on-one relationship with Presidents, international figures, business gurus, students’ organisations, civil societies and political groups. When THISDAY contacted him in Ghana last night, Momodu said that there were incredible pressures on him to contest next year’s Presidential election. “My supporters are of the firm belief that Nigeria needs a fresh beginning and that that fresh air can only be guaranteed by someone who has not been tainted in anyway by government office and cannot be accused of pilfering government money,” Momodu said. He added that when he eventually announces his intention to run, “the decision would have been aided by the challenge thrown at us by former President Ibrahim Babangida that he can’t see any young Nigerian who can lead Nigeria out of the current political doldrums which was largely created by him.” Asked on what political platform he hopes to contest when the time comes, Momodu confirmed that he has been a card-carrying member of Labour Party because his father was an ordinary Nigerian who worked most of his life as labourer. “Most of the men from my Afenmai tribe of Edo State were labourers, and I come from that proud unionist tradition of dignity in labour and service to humanity.” Also, his growing up in Ile-Ife, Osun State taught him the values of hard-work in an environment where most people were poor. Bashorun Momodu’s presidential bid is certain to add colour and excitement into a usually dull race because of his firm grip on the entertainment and showbiz industry in Africa. |
^^^^^^^ He should stick to producing. the verse in Blaze might have been ghostwritten any way. @tosin, Terry G is a wack artiste but a good producer. No educated person should be found listening to the crap he spews out of his mouth. utter garbage. |
out of love for the C.E.O., who will do a translation of the major hits he had for us non-yoruba speaking fans who are still jamming the album all the same? It will be well appreciated. we beg o!! |
By Yemi Adebowale, 05.01.2010 With the 2011 general elections looming, the former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke has resigned from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, preparatory for the launch of his much rumoured presidential campaign on the platform of another party. Citing among other reasons for the decision, Duke said the PDP had become “dysfunctional, unable to articulate a road map and lead Nigerians on a clear and concise path to national renewal.” In his resignation letter dated April 29 and addressed to the Cross River State chairman of the party, Duke said: “When in 1998, we came together and forged a vehicle destined (as we thought at the time) to carry forward our beloved country’s hopes and dreams, there was a sense of being on the cusp of something that would endure. That has not proved to be the case.” He regretted that PDP rather than building a robust and people-oriented party, “what has endured has been a lack of commitment to the purpose and focus of the founding fathers of the party and our country, which has emasculated the PDP.” Duke continued: “Faithfulness and favour have been dissipated by a seamless stream of internecine factional warfare.” He acknowledged that with his departure from the party, he would be leaving behind friends, “many with whom I shared sincerity of purpose but, regrettably, no longer share commonality of purpose. “They shall in future be friends outside the party rather than friends within it, but always friends first. Our politics must be big enough for us to differ as we can cohabitate,” he added. On his political future, Duke affirmed that he shall not fail to rise to the challenges and opportunities that the twenty-first century continues to hold for Nigeria. “I shall always be mindful to speak the truth of our circumstances and our condition,” he said. Following Duke’s resignation from the PDP, the former governor has suddenly become a beautiful political bride with opposition parties including the Action Congress, Labour Party and the Mega Party Movement intensifying efforts and wooing him to join their respective parties. It is not known which party Duke will finally pitch his tent with but it was reliably gathered that he would likely join the Labour Party where he hopes to build a “bottom-up grassroots movement to confront the 2011 presidential question.” Duke was a two-term governor of Cross River State under the platform of PDP and played prominent roles in shaping the party during its teething stage. However, in the last few years after leaving office, he has become highly disenchanted with goings-on within the party and has been quite critical of the way the party has managed its successes since the return to civil rule in 1999. Duke’s major angst with the PDP is its unwritten agreement to zone and rotate the presidency between the North and South geo-political zones. In 2006, his quest to become the party’s flag-bearer was truncated by the party’s last minute decision to zone the presidency to the North forcing him and others from the South to withdraw from the race. His decision to again throw his hat into the ring is believed to be another chance to challenge the unconstitutional zoning arrangement given fillip by the chairman of the PDP, Vincent Ogbulafor who said the 2011 presidential slot will be retained by the North. Although there is no official indication as to when he may officially declare his presidential ambition, it was authoritatively gathered that Duke has intensified surreptitious grassroot mobilisation across the country to prepare the grounds for the launch of his presidential ambition by the middle of the month. |
naijaking1:Gusau's message is not worth commenting on. It is a beer parlour gist that isn't worth its salt. The system is messed up, i will be the first to agree to that. Sanusi's methods are not perfect but if anyone is looking for who to lynch, go find Soludo.Who was busy posing around like a showbiz impresario and hanging around the guys he was meant to be regulating while the industry was burning.unfortunately, most persons believed the man when he said all was well, while banks were churning out lies upon lies in the name of Annual report (not like it has even ceased). The annual reports of Nigerian banks are not worth the paper they are printed on. Disparaging Nigerian graduates, especially anyone who graduated up to 3 decades ago is a comment that may come back to haunt you. I wonder why you are so mesmerized by foreign degrees? They do not automatically equate to substance, as have been proven over and again. Guy,no get ulcer because of this Sanusi matter o! |
naijaking1:we should call back economists like Soludo. Those are real economists. Not all these mallams chasing innocent bank MDs. ![]() |

As long as BAT's companies are not the beneficiary of the billions. Lagos state will never be free until they get rid of that character called BAT. |
overhyped abeg!!! na beats i wan chop?
i agree with you but i am surprised you can say that considering that you are a huge fan of Terry G. In my view, Terry G is worse than Jessy Jagz can ever be. Both should just stick to producing (which they are good at) and stop spreading mediocrity. |
Mourinho criticizes Barcelona Excerpt taken from news conference Antena 1 Portugal. ? A team that is the best team in the world should simply win and believe that shooting fireworks outside our hotel until 4 a.m., does not need to send the police to arrest Eto?o for tax evasion, does not require waiting for the bus 50 min. when it should only take 2 to reach the stadium, does not need Busquets to wink at Guardiola when red card is awarded, does not need any of this, they just need to play and win like champions, or lose and lose like champions, and my team today was a team of champions, they said that today they would leave their skin on the field to win but we left our blood on the field today.? |
I think i have posted on this thread before? there is no harm repeating my post. my fav at he moment is GIORGIO ARMANI - BLACK CODE |
Arsene knows, |
• 'Anyone can have three weeks of glory,' Arsenal manager says • Wenger hopes to add new players early in the summer Arsène Wenger believes the prices of players will be artificially high if they are successful in South Africa. Photograph: Nigel Roddis/Reuters Arsène Wenger's reluctance to be rushed into spending Arsenal's millions on fresh talent will extend to the World Cup with the Gunners manager insisting he will not be tempted to buy players who make an impact during the tournament. Arsenal will finish the season without a trophy for the fifth year in a row and were heavily beaten by their rivals Manchester United and Chelsea. That lead to criticism of Wenger's transfer policy, based on nuturing young talent and not spending big on established players. But the north London club's coffers have be boosted after paying off around £133million in debts and the sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City last year will give the Frenchman money to spend. But this summer's World Cup in South Africa will not be a scouting trip, Wenger warned. "The World Cup will not affect our recruitment," he said. "It is dangerous to buy on the back of a World Cup. The prices are artificial and you have to bear in mind that anyone can have three weeks of glory. "To have 10 years of success is quite different. With the season drawing to a close, people are inevitably looking to discuss our transfer targets. "I do have targets and have been talking to people but I cannot mention any names at the moment. The earlier you settle your teams for the next season the better it is and the less anxiety you have." One player he remains keen on securing is the Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh whose deal expires this summer and is available on a free transfer. |
