From designer bags bedecked with the Union Jack symbol to lingerie inspired by the Queen Mother—fashion brands are hoping that the excitement surrounding the Queen’s Jubilee will prove to be a cash cow. The Centre for Retail Research is forecasting that the retail impact of the Jubilee—four days of events celebrating the sixty years that Queen Elizabeth II has sat on the throne in England—will total more than $750 million. From the high street to the designer floor, everyone wants a piece of the profits. British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has created a limited edition Red Carpet Collection inspired by the Jubilee, blending influences from Britain’s Union Jack flag and the Queen’s own wardrobe. A long gown featuring a take on the flag motif is retailing for $3,805. High-end jeweler Asprey has reworked artist Chris Levine’s Equanimity, the 2004 holographic portrait of the Queen in honor of the Jubilee. Asprey’s version includes 1,000 brilliant cut white diamonds set in platinum and overlaid onto a three dimensional image. Expect a hefty price tag to go along with it, but the proceeds will be split between various charities supported by the Queen including The Woodland Trust. In a similar vein De Beers has created a crown inspired by the Jubilee featuring 974 diamonds. It is currently being displayed in London’s famed department store Harrods before it tours the world in search of a buyer. It’s not just luxury brands getting in on the action. QVC has created a costume jewelry replica of the Imperial State Crown featuring 2,276 replica stones. Estée Lauder is selling a solid perfume compact in a Union Jack case. And online hosiery brand Mytights is offering various opaque tights emblazoned with the Union Jack flag, all retailing for $25 and under. Marks & Spencer has launched a collection of Jubilee inspired lingerie in honor of the Queen’s reign and inspired by 1950s glamour. Take a brief look at this dress. Isnt it cute? https://blogs-images.forbes.com/leahbourne/files/2012/06/vw_22.9a12f102134.w300.jpg fOR More: www.fashionaira.wall.fm |
@OP, this no issue at all, not unless ur friend is under aged. |
AjanleKoko: I'm bothered about this new trend of La Liga coaches talking up their players, in a bid to get them noticed by Barca or Real. Especially Barca, as we seem to be vulnerable right now.Tito has affirmed he wants both Keita and Affelay in the squad. He was firm about Keita renewing. |
1025: @Mcleo007,I expected to hear you spew these entire garbage. Thank goodness, you didnt disappoint me. ![]() |
nethacker: we go too bad if all things go well but i hope all those senior players go allow these young boys perform sha. This assemblage you have is not a threat, believe me! Its nowhere close to what the duo of Barca and Madrid have, not even mentioning Man city. Safe for the Formica defence and an above average goalkeeper, the rest are average class. Your judgement seems bestruck by the current euphoria of winning the champs league. You need no soothsayer to tell you Chelsea winning that competition has with it a hallmark of fortune. Them winning it makes me believe in fate and destiny! The midfield combo is nothing far from a stoke/Swansea make-up; hazzle the opponents within your territory, send a long ball afloat to waiting heads and hoof, a fluke of a goal emerges. ![]() |
I want to believe it was all an act, otherwise...! ![]() |
There will be plenty of tiny bikinis near the water this summer, but some of the season's swimsuit trends can be worn by the merely mortal. Yes, there are suits that flatter the less-than-perfect body and look stylish at the same time. Kristen Stewart has been wearing a mix of styles at various red carpet events over the last few weeks, including elegant gowns by Balenciaga and Reem Acra and casual printed pants by Balenciaga with a Rebecca Minkoff jacket, as my colleague Jenn Harris reported in her Frugal Fashion column. Stewart took still another tack Tuesday at a Los Angeles screening of "Snow White and the Huntsman," which opens Friday, wearing a Stella McCartney double-breasted blazer and flirty skirt, button-up collar and hair twisted into braids on the back of her head. One might call it the sexy schoolmarm look. Continue: http://fashionaira.wall.fm/blogs/12 |
Another ugly chain of facts about Nigeria. Indeed, this country is nothing short of a cesspit. Its very origins will soon come crashing; only the enlightened ones might saved. Chagrins everywhere! AjanleKoko: I don't think he's a bad keeper. It could probably be that he just does not get much practice, as you said. That might just make him a little rusty, when he needs to do the mundane things like coming out on top in one-on-ones, doing last-ditch saves, or saving long-range shots.Exactly my point! Any world class keeper can be rendered useless, given this Barca side. Many a games, Valdes could decide to take a stroll/walk his dog or even read a romance novel. He's just rarely tested. Hence, on the few occassions the shots are taken at him, he falls short. Not his fault, tho! |
