Good evening all. I'm planning to use a friend to my brother's account as POF. Will that work please? Considering that we won't have the same surname.

Don't try that. POF either in your account in your name or parents/guardian
.

Osebebe22:
Standard ikeja tls.

Congrats to you. I pray for same goodnews. Did same day at TLS, Ikeja. Mine is still at DMC.

Good day all!!

Can I use a new bank account for proof of funds?

Yes, you can.

gergemam:
It is OK but you will need to have enough proof to back the Certificate up. e.g. Pictures, Tenancy agreement or contract carrying your names,
Investment between both parties among others.

You can check the front page or check UKVI website

Just to add to this;
- Bank address should be changed to match the address of the MA
- Medical report too, a payment receipt from hospital with your names eg if she's pregnant and you registered antenatal

I read somewhere that pictures count for little.

Alex1975:
What is the advisable EXCHANGE rate to keep POF? 🙏

Keep an extra £1000 on your original total.

ChiomaMC:
Please who can suggest any affordable school that I can apply to without requesting prove of fund for visa, and the deposit fee is not huge, and one can easily get work as a single student. Abeg those in UK make una help oo..
I have for Derby, but the fee payment time is not funny at all.

You're required to provide proof of funds while applying for Visa. It's non negotiable!

dduchess90:
Hello

NSF (Not StraightForward), is a standard mail received from UKVI after applying when your application has not been straightforward in dealing with and more time is needed to assess your application than the average decision time

Cheers

Thanks for the kind clarification as always, Dduchess90. I appreciate!

dduchess90:
Hello

NSF is a standard email, you can set that to auto deliver not necessarily an ECO/UKVI working

Cheers

Please what does NSF mean? I'm seeing "Non sufficient funds" from Google search.

Bros, if you have the complete tuition fee, by all means do it. You go struggle but you won’t die. It’s only hunger and sleeping in train stations you go contend with till you get part time job, but if you don’t have complete tuition, I WARN you not to try it. School and home office go mess you up big time, if you never get high bp and depression, you fit get am by the time they start with you. Take the advice above and find either a spouse or complete tuition.

My candid advice.

Exactly what I was trying to tell him earlier. The tuition fee is high plus the location, he won't get good paying jobs easily. He'd struggle real hard, unless of course if he has the full funds.

OvaSabi1:
How is the payment Made? Through a don account? How do people get pounds? Buy from black market or form A?

Yes, through domicilliary account. You buy from the black market.

Kingkom:
I have an offer with University of Dundee and the course fee is #15900 GBP.
Deposit before CAS is 5000GBP.
I intend going with my spouse.
Please how much should I calculate for the POF?

Is this amount not too much?

OvaSabi1:
Hello everyone will visa fees be paid in naira from a naija account? What exchange rate is applicable?

You can't use naira card, only dollar card.

Kingkom:
please how can I get a Dollar Card? I have a dom account with Access Bank.

Go to your bank and request for a dollar card. It's linked to your dorm account via a separate ledger.

Edward9295:
Please guys, how do I pay for my visa fee and nhis?
Are they accepting naira debit card for payment??

You need a dollar card. Naija cards don't work for international payments.

Godfavour2020:
Please could someone answer my question please

Court affidavit!

Hi everyone cc: @dduchess90 please when going for biometrics at TLS iKEJA, what are the items/documents to go with? Going as self service. THanks

Elolam87:
Hi duchess, I need your confirmation or response on this before I proceed pls. Thanks for your time

She can go ahead to apply, but when the Visa is out,, she wuould need the new one to travel. I think this sort of issue has been treated on the thread before.

@dduchess90, please o, how does one get past here for the Self-service document upload on the TLS - MY APPLICATION page?

When I click on UPLOAD, it brings me to this page and I don't recall creating a username. I have tried using my email address and UKVI application password, but to no avail. Please, help!!!

Hi house, apparently, TLS isn't all that free even when you choose SELF SERVICE. Most of the dates have one subcharge or another; either FLEXI, PRIME TIME, PREMIUM etc. I chose to do the PRIME TIME which amounted at N82,000. However, my 2 cards were declined. I used a 3rd which belonged to my brother; he was debited but I got TRANSACTION UNSUCCESFUL ON THE WEBSITE.

Please what can I do? Anyone had this issue before?

Jupiter123:
@dduchess89 and others

Please the below picture about VISA Application requirements. The letter is it that 2 of the letters are to be submitted or just only 1 letter should be submitted. Thank you so much

2 or 3 is good.

Meogom:
Good morning my good people, my iom TB cert expires on 29th march. Must I do my biometrics before that expiry date or I just need to book for biometrics before the expiry date and do the actual biometrics later.

Why not just do another? The date is quite close, to avoid complicating things later on.

Good morning house, please who has paid for Visa and IHS fees recently? How much was paid in total for both respectively?

Thanks

UK to ban foreign students from bringing family unless on ‘high-value’ degrees

Guys! How true is this pls?
Do you think it will hold?

However, universities and members of parliament from all parties criticised the proposals, pointing to research suggesting that foreign students contribute £35 billion a year to the economy.

I don't think it's achievable this year. The government is already facing resistance over the plan. However, the report looks centered to uphold the dependent status quo for masters and doctoral programs.

These people are really pushing this thing. SMH

afrobaby:
Hello Good people!!
J just got offers from MMU, Nottingham Trent and Leeds Beckett for Msc Data science.

Which school is better in terms of ranking, getting a job after graduation, getting an accommodation ( will be moving with my husband and 2 kids) and providing soft landing for international students.

Thanks all

I think you should Google the UK list of school ranking. You will find your answer there and also research the cities.

Etsetemi88:
Greetings . Is it advisable to disclose past visa refusals during school application? Most schools I applied to refused my admission because of my past visa refusal. Note that the refusal was because my documents were not uploaded. They say I am at risk of getting another refusal

You are advised to be upright with any info they demand from you. You would still face the issue much further into the application. Best is to apply to as many schools as possible, then indicate the reason for your previous refusal. You simply leave them to their own discretion on whether to accept you or not. Honesty is the best policy, they say. Cheers!

Frankest:
Good day house, please how long does it take to be offered admission after applying? Thanks.

There is no specific timeframe. It all depends on the completeness of your documents at the time of application and maybe the amount of applications the uni receives at the time. Give or take, 1-2 weeks for Masters. Cheers!

dduchess90:
Hello

Anyone can get married at anytime

The onus is on you to proof that your relationship/marriage is real and substantial by providing necessary documents spaced out throughout the course of your relationship/marriage

You can look through the thread for examples of such evidence required

Cheers

This is quite incisive, especially the first line.

I guess provision of marriage certificate, tenancy agreement to show you both have lived together for a while, bank address on statement of account, medical report of bill etc... this is just to add to what you have said, while hoping it makes sense. Lol

Peterdapox:
Who can verify this? I heard UKVI personnel were interviewing people going to UK from muritala international airport in Lagos. Heard some persons were refused to board a plane for some reasons! Are they now having border officers in Nigeria airport?

Makes no sense if they are. Like, you already gave them Visa to travel to your country, so why else would you stop them from boarding from their own country?

Sakol4life:
Wow God is so great!

So I was planing to sit for an ielts exam. Because I have C6 in my English language. And university of Hull requires c5 above

But this evening I don’t just know what triggered me to check all the past weac exams that I’ve done in the past before I got admitted to my formal university.

Mind you, I sat for both Waec and waec gce 5 times before I eventually gain an admission for undergraduate studies at my institution.

I checked 2 of my past waec result today which I’ve abandoned checking all this while. I checked The first result which I sat for in 2013 and just to find out that I have C6 in English. I felt so down and said to God how I wish it was c5.

However I proceeded further in checking the second result which I sat for in 2014 and I have a whole B3 in English but mathematics was cancelled

I hope I can proceed in submitting this Waec result as I have B3 in English language.

Please kindly advice me what to do as I don’t want to write an islet exam??

You can get across to the school, explaining to them your new discovery. In the end, they might just request you send waec scratch card for them to confirm the results. Cheers!
