I just got my visa and plan to travel with my wife (we submitted and did biometric on different dates) but UKVI is asking for additional documents.


NB: We have been dating for over 2 years now but we don’t stay together. We officially got married on the 3rd of January (few days before I got my COS).

Documents initially uploaded

Marriage certificate (with our various parents home address)
POF
Police character (carrying her parents home address)
TB test (carrying her parents home address)
WhatsApp chat (date back to Jan 2021)
Random pictures together
Wedding photos

Please, find attached for the details of the mail sent by UKVI. I’m so confused on how else to demonstrate that we have a genuine relationship despite not staying in the same address over the years. Please help.

She said the payment of $600 showed ' payment refused by bank' from a naira Mastercard. I know this is caused by limit on naira debit card spending. I would appreciate a response on this.

I will advice she goes to the bank to resolve the limit. Also ask the rate, if it's official or black market rate that would be charged on the card.

Had similar issue in my application. School requested I get a letter of attestation from my secondary and university to state that I am the same person as on my passport.

Tell your friend to do the above. Then get a court affidavit. Mind you, I had submitted an affidavit earlier but the school insisted on the attestatioin. Best of luck!

Your age definitely is a factor. However, I believe you can convince them via your Statement of purpose when applying. You might consider a course that is different from whatt you studied at HND level and try to explain to them that the course you did before no longer hold as much relevance to your current and future career goals, hence, you wish to start afresh in a totally new and relevant discipline. Do well to explain what drives you in the new career path and relate it to your life and goals. Best of lucks!

1. About the POF maturity and Visa application. Given that you're required to get your bank statement on the 28th day; does that mean that once you've generated the bank statement, you have to apply for the Visa with the next 2-3 days which would be the 29th, 30th and 31st day of the 1 month period? I ask this because, there's a chance the school might delay the issuance of the CAS, which might them encroach beyond 31 days or so.

2. Granted that Visa application is done online; at the point of payment for Visa fees and IHS, is the transaction charged on your debit card using official Naira to pound rate or Black market?

Whichever one you are comfortable with us fine. If she's using a new surname, she must attach an affidavit/change of name and or paper publication. You can avoid all that stress by just going with the name on her documents.

1. The amount required for your maintenance while studying is clear, the evidence needs to be in your account for minimum 28days and you should have access to the funds in the UK. It doesn't matter if that is the opening balance,however it should be your closing balance

2. In terms of transactions,please continue with your bank activities as normal while ensuring it doesn't affect your maintenance funds


3. Keep an eye on the exchange rate on Oanda

Please a little clarification on POF.

If you are doing POF of say N2m, and the start date is January 1st to January 28th, does it mean that the opening amount must necessarily be N2m? Could one start with say N500k, then a week after up it to N1.2m then N1.8, then N2m , then N2.1 then back to N2m. All these within that duration to create transaction activity.

Or, it just start with N2m and close with same amount, then maybe small transactions in between.

Not everyone who Japa does so for money-related reasons. I know a lot of people who left Nigeria who were doing perfectly ok for themselves. Many just want to live in a sane society for once in their lives and ensure their children grow up in a sane clime where UP NEPA that they grew up with wouldn't;t be the same fate that greets their children growing up.

Regardless of how good your life is currently in Naija, you are one problem (health or economic policy) away from poverty. I mean you can fall from 100-3 within a week. Its that bad. We have seen this one too many times. Same way, you can see a poor man become very rich within a week. No where in the world does this happen except here.

UK, as with most European countries wasn't designed to make people rich. Euripe was designed to enhance a majority MIDDLE CLASS. How many billionaires are there in Europe compared to other continents?

Joint account would work in the case of spouses/partners not siblings.

Being a co-signatory doesn't mean the funds are his and he has access/control of the funds.

He should move his funds to a separate account and start his count to ensure it meets the conditions for study visa

Please my cousin has a joint fixed dorm account which he is co-signatory to with his elder brother with the same surname but the account is in the brother's name. Now, can he use it for his POF? He can get an official letter from the bank to back that up. Wondering if that could work.
