RomanceRe: Parental Consent - Really Necessary?? by mcsnup: 10:03pm On Nov 28, 2014
i believe marriage is between two adults, the rest party as important as they are is alway seconded. However parent consent is a mark of respect, honor and reference from your part to your parent. And as they say in multitude of counsel there is safety...so you need all the encouragement and advice you can get at that point of your life. Guess who can better advice you?
EducationRe: 10 Most Annoying Nigerian Media English Expressions. by mcsnup: 5:14pm On Nov 26, 2014
as good as it may seem, i think its good for professional journalism, however its an alien language so it need not be excessively buttress. Look at Americans they have their own form of English and the world accept it as English, even if its typically different from those spoken and written by British. For Jargons your write-up is cool but with respect to slang please we are good

Christianity EtcThe Emblem by mcsnup(op): 7:38am On Sep 22, 2014
Let us learn from Christ how to handle the
multitude that wants to follow him for the
wrong reasons, we most do today what he did
then. Many came forward to tell him that they
believed in him and would follow him faithfuly
contrary to today's method, Christ did not have his disciples quickly sign up such persons as
'church member' befor they change their minds
and get them involve in the choir or some
committe in order to keep them active in the
church, "Foxes have holes and the birds have
nests but i have no place to lay my head "(matt 8:20). Jesus told the eager would-be converts
are you certain you want to follow me? Such
'negativism,' so you want to follow me Christ
would say then let me tell you were we are
going, i'm heading for a hill outside calvary
were they will nail me to a cross so if you would follow me to the end you might as well
make up your mind, take up your cross right
now and follow me because that where we are
going!... Today we are far too sophisticated to
present the gospel in such negative manner.
We've studied success motivation, psychology and Dale Carnegie courses on "how to win
friends and influence people" and consider such
new techniques to be ideal in winning people to
Christ, so we fill the church with multitude who
imagine that Christ's mission is to make them
feel good about themselves by building their self esteem, answering their selfish prayers and
fulfilling their self-centered agendas... May the
Lord not inquire of us like Adam "what is this
you have done". . .
Christianity EtcRe: Is The Expression, "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves Biblical"? by mcsnup: 8:47pm On Sep 21, 2014
the expression God help those who help themselves, can be trace down the years of slavery, its was first heard within black American at the time, the original phrase goes "heaven help those who help themselves" no part of the bible support this as you have rightly noted. It's simply a black proverb... Now why would God waste is time in helping folks who can help themselves? Just me thinking

What's love if it can't stand the test of time? Does having a girl/boyfriend restrict my association or relationship wit the opposite sex? VillageBoi: FACT: You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. For your information 'Onye Ozi' So again, in response to your incredibly ridiculous posts stating that both 'Last Flight To Abuja' and 'Onye Ozi' were produced way before 'Mirror Boy'
Do NOT come in here with your complete LIES and say you spoke to 'crew' members and they told you it was produced donkey years ago. If you like why don't you call up the Director of the film and ask him yourself; I'm sure he'll tell you.
i neva said that both Last Flight To Abuja and Onye Ozi were produced way before 'Mirror Boy, i said Onye Ozi was produced way before 'Mirror Boy and i spoke base on info available to me. I will check urs out

Kirinwa: Speak not of sacred things with a defiled mind lest you be guilty of blasphemy against the spirit of God which is unforgivable.

Be quiet especially of things that are beyond your comprehension lest you be taken for a fool.
another religious fellow, Christmas is of no value whatsoever, neva was it said to be celebrated in the scripture. Only in communion were we asked to celebration in memory of Christ, on the contrary Paul spoke concerning this things.
But now that you know God or rather are known by God, how is it that you're turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all mud again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and yrs! I dear for you that somehow i have wasted my efforts on you. Gal 4:8-12. TV/MoviesRe: 19 Mistakes From Last Flight To Abuja by mcsnup:
tallceejay: Continuity Error:-
As the movie starts a large building is shown and "CNS Headquarters" is written on the screen. When they show the board meeting taking place in the building, Chief Nike (Jide Kosoko) refers to their office as "TNS"

This is to protect the identity of the original owners /property used. All movies do it. In developing countries, it is sensored out
Other:-
The Flamingo name and logo on the plane is obviously printed on paper and then pasted on the fuselage/body of the plane. How much would re-spraying that part of the plane have cost?

Be real ! Re-spraying a part of the plane ?? You know the paper work involved ?? Maybe they shuda just photo-tricked it. Anyway thts wat u get from a low-budget movie

Factual Error:- Mrs Angela Efe (Chidera Orji) is seen using an iPad as her husband returns home having missed his flight. The first iPad wasn’t released until 2010 which was four years after the movie was supposedly set.

James bond started using mobile fones almost 25yrs b4 the first mobile fone was launched....infact when he used it, we called it film trick saying how can a device virtually connect to anoda without wires. He did that with wrist watches
...] Factual Error:- [/b]
The Elderly Man (Olumide Bakare) was travelling for a surgery for diabetes. Problem is, diabetes treatment does not require surgery.

This is really stupid

Factual Error:-
Dr. Gina (Rachel Ekiama) checks Charles' temperature with stethoscope. A stethoscope is an acoustic medical device used for listening to internal sounds. A thermometer should have been used to check his temperature.

I'm ashamed of this stupidity. They shuda used remote to fly a plane
a gud number of your criticism are defendable and some irrelevant, it's not to say there are no constructive ones, as a matter of fact you fall to point at certain important ones but alas in constructive criticism you have to understand and see the story from the view of the teller, same script can be interpreted and produced in 100 different ways and the resources available at production is also to be consider. Flight starring denzel washington produced same yr cost a total of $31 million in contrast last flight cost just 40 million naira which is abt $250,862.62 approximately $250 thousand, and the hardship the crews and cast had to undergo filming in a country like Nigeria were lite, road and even the mentality of the average man is a joke. I challenge any and every non-Nigeria producers to come perform d magic with our available or best still good resources and our street touts. Give d man some credit

I agree Obi is not improving his craft. After Last Flight to Abuja (which was a great improvement to The Mirror boy), one would expect something Superb next...but as Villageboi put it, It seems like he retrogressed again sad sad sad. We discussed him recently on Cinema Guest Lounge
that movie was produced long before mirror boy the distribution is only recent but production is aged. Give the man a pass

its not a thing of testimony, am afraid you either do not no the purpose of this thread or you are abusing its purpose, the law only a bounds you a slave to the weak things of this world...you should prayerfully sort that men come to the knowledge of God's truth, and not count scores and likes...in a world were sound doctrine is toss to d dogs and were the scripture is been tag as one of those motivational book, and yet you sit and crave testimonies...
Christianity EtcRe: Testimonies On Why We Stopped Tithing Here by mcsnup: 11:30pm On Nov 19, 2013
i wish folks would take their time to truely study tithe from its origin down to mal 3:10, how tithing became a law and for what purpose. Then go and study the words of Christ concerning d law, taking time to study galatian, corinthians and hebrew to understand the freedom and libration we have in Christ and to understand that everyone who does one thing written in the book of the law and fails to do every other things written in d same book is under a curse. Understandin that we are no longer under d law. For Christ himself said i have not come to abolish d law but to fulfill it, on d cross he said the very words that gladings my heart "it is finish" if d law been fulfilled in Christ what need have to try filling it, in doing so i only attest that Christ blood is not sufficient enough to pay for my sins and that of d world...this is not to say tithing in itself is a sin, is just unfortunate that the church today is concern abt its number, wealth and prosperity than the souls of men... Like i told my pa, it pricks me so that what concerns the early church the most means nothing today church and that which concern today church matters not to d early church, and he asked what it was, i told him money and the souls of men

Christianity EtcWhat is Your Take On Judging Others! by mcsnup(op):
Concerning judging, let it be known that Christ Himself is far more "negative" than i can everbe. He warned of judgement, hell, demanding repentance, exposing sin, rebuking the religious leader, labelling them as hypocrite, white sepulchers, blind leaders of blind, fools. undoubtedly Christ would be far more persecuted now than his days even with our vast knowledge. In matt 7:1 Jesus said judge not, that ye be not judged' we need to undastand that Christ is telling us not to judge motives for he clearly told us to judge teaching & lives, beware of false prophets [i.e teachers]...by their fruit [lives] you shall no them (vs 15-20) surely He is telling us to judge false doctrine & deeds but not motives. Paul exhort Timothy to preach the word, he explains that to do so one must reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering & doctrine (2 tim 4:2) paul further warn of "vain talker" whose mouth must be stopped [from teaching false doctrine]. He urged Titus to rebuke them sharply (ti 1:10-13) he said to Timothy then that sin rebuke before all [i.e publicly] that others also may fear (1 tim 5:20) clearly one can't reprove without judging, this thosen't violate Christ's prohibition in fact he commanded & the apostle practised. Its a judging satan hates cause it unmarks his lies...
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Wrong To Give Your Tithe To The Poor by mcsnup: 11:37pm On Oct 17, 2012
Goshen360: @ OP,

Even some false tithe teachers will tell you that when your neighbour is dying and a poor person need help so desperately, they will tell you you must still bring your tithe to the church. There is nothing like tithe to Christians in monetary form. If you have money and God speaks to your heart to help the poor, do it graciously and cheerfully. This way, you are an angel sent to another man.God will reward you.

If you also decide to give certain portion of your income to help the poor cheerfully, God bless you for such but it doesn't necessarily have to be 10%, it can be more or less or even vary from month to month. I have seen where it is written "God loves a cheerful giver" my brother but I am yet to read where it is written "God loves a cheerful tither" because tithe is "by force" but giving is "by grace, willingness and cheerfulness"......Glory to God!
And on the basis of this grace is were our salvation is, for now we do not live by the law but we live only by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Gal 3) the law is fulfilled in Christ for he said, I have not come to condemn the law but to fulfil it. So we do not live under the law but under grace, now in givin to the poor and needy the apostles encourage us not to forsake the poor among us, it is your responsiblity to give to the poor as lead by God, we give not because we expect a reward even though they are promised to every give but we give for the love of Christ for he commands that we have love for our neighbours just the way we do for ourselves, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers same you do to me... I give not because i want to or because there is a promised blessing attached to given but because i can not quench the love in my heart
