1.5hp is 1,200W not 2,000W. Surge is 2-3x or 2.4-3.6KW. So your inverter must be able to handle at least 4KW just for the pump to start. Your solar production at peak sun must be at least 1.5KWh or your battery must have at least 4KWh available if you are running it for 3 hours.

Unless you have a very deep borehole or a very high tank stand, like recommended best to go for a 1HP submersible pump if you want to run it with the 3.5kw inverter you mentioned. A 1 hp pump at most needs 2.2KW starting power and 745W running power.

Our 1HP submersible pump consumes 1450w...in theory it's not supposed to be this high....but in reality it does.

Since my post I have done small research. I don't think a 24v system will be able to carry a 1hp AC. A big TV and small appliances like a few white bulbs and 2 small 50W standing fans. My budget is 1M. Don't know if it'll be enough to include quality panels like jinko, and batteries like felicity etc

1) 10kwh 48v battery = ₦1.4m
2) 6kva hybrid inverter ₦600k
3) 8 nos 600w Solar Panels @ ₦115k/each = ₦920k

That's almost ₦3m.

You'd need to up your budget.

Get any 48 volt solar charge controller there is nothing special here the amperage (60A, 80A,100A, etc) what you buy depends on the number of solar panels you are using

I have Schneider 4048 inverter...all you need is an external charge controller and you are good to go. Get a good AVR too as it doesn't tolerate poor voltage from NEPA

I wouldn't buy 350w used panel for 60k even if it's a tier1 panel.

In my days of freestyle I use to favour Flames solar panels...but gone are those days...it's tier 1 or nothing. Also I'd rather buy a 6kw 48V Growatt inverter than that Icell inverter.

Honestly, there isn’t much difference. When the earbuds were new, a full charge could last a whole day or even longer, depending on how much I used them. It’s the same with the replacement batteries — their performance still depends on usage, and they’ve been quite efficient so far.

The first time I replaced mine was around mid-2023, and it cost ₦1,000 per earbud. The second time was in August this year, and it cost ₦1,500 per earbud, so it’s really not expensive.
I haven’t replaced the battery of the charging case yet, only the earbuds and they’re still working fine. So if your earbuds are weak or not holding charge, battery replacement is a cheaper option than buying a new one.

That is a great tip! ₦3,000 is an absolute steal compared to the price of a brand-new pair of quality earbuds these days. Most people don't even realize the batteries in the buds can be swapped out-they usually just toss them and buy new ones, which is a waste of money and creates unnecessary e-waste.

do you stay around lagos?If you stay in Lagos or close to major market hubs where electronics are sold and repaired, you’ll definitely see repair shops that fix earbuds and AirPods. I’ve changed mine twice within three years. I use an Oraimo FreePods 3 (2Baba Edition), and the batteries are usually the same.
When you get to the market, just ask around for where they repair earbuds. I usually replace mine at Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos — after Ogbosi Plaza, along the road, third staircase, before Unity Bank.
I’m saying this because I’ve seen many people throw away their earbuds once they start having battery issues, without knowing that the batteries can actually be replaced.

My earbuds sounds so good. I'd hate to replace it simply because of battery issues.

Good to see that there are actually people who work on it, as it should. What does it cost to do this kind of replacement?

The QCy earbud I bought just over a year ago no longer lasts for more than a few seconds before shutting down. The battery is gone.

Are earbud batteries replaceable? or that one is gone and I have to buy new earbuds all together?

Sorry about that, fortunately mine still rocks after a year. If you can do a teardown you can search Aliexpress for the battery.

This could go up or down.

PV generate around 3kw..while load is btw 500w and 650w max.. And its only btw 1.5kw and 2kw that goes into the battery.. Sometimes abt 1kw Wont be able to be accounted for..

Display meter may be wrong...you may need to verify this generation and battery charging amps with a meter.

Their load might have increased. Check load/PV production.

Get a DC solar powered submersible pump. With 4/6 nos of 400/500w solar panels you are good to go.

This is what I came up with. Thanks to everyone who helped me decide.

My thoughts on DIY Lithium
1. It is stressful. Only embark if you do not mind the stress. It is NOT a walk in the park.
2. You must know basic electricity principles. If you do not know how to check for continuity with a multimeter, it may be best for you not to continue. Read well and research before embarking.
3. First builds come with mistakes (I did not top balance, so my BMS is currently being overworked. Thinking of opening the case to charge some cells individually. Tips will be appreciated).
4. If you do not already have tools and materials from other projects, it may NOT be cheaper than buying, for the first build. I could cut down costs because I had materials from other projects e.g. 250A MCCB.
I cheaped out on the terminals; I used the hanger that came with the electric cabinet.
5. It is FUN and you will learn a LOT - wiring, behavior of materials, tools, etc. Subsequent builds will be much faster.
6. Before you use cheaper materials, do your research o. I abandoned the wooden box I created and went for metal after suggestions on this thread, because this is my first LFP build. Mrreed and Valto can use wood because they are experienced and have some design secrets first timers do not have. Safety first, if you are a first-timer.
7. Double-check everything. I went through all the screws again before deploying, only to find out two were not well tightened.
8. Youtube videos from foreigners are mostly useless when it comes to procuring materials. A lot of the things they have there, we do not have or are difficult to source (e.g. fire-resistant cement case and fire-resistant graded wood). Seek local threads for guidance.
9. Eat well before embarking. Drilling and cutting are not easy.
10. Stop working whenever you are tired, before you drill or cut yourself.

Well put together. Nigerians are super resourceful. Saw a dude do a 5kwh lithium battery that you can hand on the wall with the empty casing of a busbar housing! People got mad skillz in Naija.

It was not shocking when initially bought, but now it’s shocking, when you touch the pot you placed on it; you feel that electric movement.

Check for leakage voltage which may occur due to breakdown of cable insulation which happens due to heat generated by the hotplate and corrosion as the hotplate gets older.

Replace with appropriate sized cable and replace socket with good make. Connections and contact not strong enough leads to arcing which leads to burning.

From my ever-learning knowledge so far, 530watts panels is not suitable for your 12v system. Panels of 18V Maximum power voltage and open circuit voltage (VOc) around 22V-24V which are usually in the range of 180-200Watts are most suitable.

You 530Watts panels definitely overloading the controller and thereby causing the overheating in the controller for it trip off.

You must have followed the advise of getting a big panel and not the smaller ones.

With adequate charge controller you can use any size of solar panel
