Quite correct about the inrush current.

Will prowse uses a pre-charge resistor too before connecting the batteries to the inverter. A cheap alternative is using a 220v/100w or 200w tungsten filament bulb instead of the resistor. In most cases, the bulb will glow slightly when connected inline with one of the battery cables. A 30second wait is usually enough to eliminate such in-rush sparks. Below a 48v tungsten bulb was used. (In absence of that, I use the 100w bulb readily available, wired with a lamp holder and 2 leads. I just hold it for longer)

https://diysolarforum.com/threads/do-most-builders-users-not-use-inverter-precharge.65222/

The above link discusses the issue when the BMS shuts down for some time, and an inrush current occurs when the BMS switches on again. In this case, the external pre-charge resistor or bulb is of no help.

Hope this helps someone

I've used this bulb trick to charge up gigantic capacitors in some old school IGBT inverter. It works.

Let me cut the long story short. That was the available pv.
I was planning to use 2 pcs of 580w Junko pv but the of trouble/stress of bringing them down to Uyo from either Abuja or Lagos was too much.
As I'm typing this, I've 5 pcs of 580w Jinko pv in Abuja and I'm told to pay 30k each for the waybill.
Again, I checked and saw 580w pv in fouani store website on the 12th of last month and I made payment for 5 pcs. The following day, I was called and told that the 580w was out of stock. There was no higher watt pv and my customer didn't want to go for a lower watt pv.
I called for a refund and I was told to go my bank and apply for charge back. I went and applied and my bank later told me the money is already in the fouani store account that there's nothing the bank can do.
I called fouani customer service and I was told to wait. They later called me that the money was refunded to my account on Monday this week. I checked my app and I didn't see it. I will still go back to my bank and print account statement.
I will NEVER EVER buy anything from fouani store again. The stress of getting a refund is unbearable

Had similar experience with Konga, it took me like forever to get my refund. Will never shop at Konga again.

Any one here has real life experience with mono and polycrystalline solar panels?
Any difference in real time usage?
Can it be recommended to buy at this point

With current tech, if space is not an issue poly and mono PVs are same. One, mono, just takes less space for same wattage. What should be more important is the MAKE of PV.

What Jinko 580w or 625w config should be ok for this to get maximum generation?

I recently did 9 in series of 550W JA Solar panels and it's been awesome with this inverter.

People in the house, I have heard a lot about bitnob so I decided to give it a try, but my problem is about funding my account because I am not familiar with the BTC stuff, please what's the common way of funding a bitnob account

Click on "Deposit" and click on "Fund with local currency" Type in the amount you want to fund. Click continue. It'll take you on a page with a bank account and amount in naira to pay into the account. Pay into this account using YOIR bank account and click "I have made payment.". Within moments thr USD amount would be credited on your walle, mmɲ go to Cards to top up.

Used to use ChrisVic before the closed $3.5 a KG option.

Mention the Nigerian bank but I'm sure GT and Zenith aren't amongst. If Kuda de do crossboarder transactions, I won't dare use them! Your money fit reach 5 months in holding.

Also, refund timeline is based on account category (except if it's been reviewed otherwise).

Access Bank once held my refund for 45 business day. To refund $33 come be like a $1m. Lol.

I've had delays too on GTB but not on that scale. I don't use Zenith for USD transaction.

Not a lie at all!
During the just concluded sales, I got a payment reversal by AliExpress and it
hit my card immediately, with a notification message informing me of such. Even when AliExpress was still talking about the fact that it could take me up to 21 days to receive the money, I had already got it.

Well, am not surprised to see such a great development from them — they're constantly improving on their platform through system maintenance and frequent upgrades. Every time you'd see a pop up message to update their app! They're always on the move!

Bitnob looks promising!

100% agree with you on every count.

Bitnob is very fast in receiving refund from AliExpress. Opened dispute yesterday's evening. Got approved in my favour this morning. Got money reversed to my card an hour ago. If it's Nigerian bank it'll take 3 to 10 business days.

TND is not a Brand name oo, it's the approved model number code in China to track between single phase and 3 phase servo stabilizers.

Just like SVC and all that naming system.

Oh, I've seen AVR with that tag. They do well. Thanks for the update.

Last I checked a bag is like 20k to 25k. Check jiji .though as a naija matter I don't even know if it is real bentonite. What I can say is after 4 earth rods driven deeper, an earth mat and bentonite we went from 20+ ohms to 9 Ohms. Thought it was waterlogged clayey soil.

Wow, that's a stubborn soil. Thanks.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 7:58pm On Jun 24
GloriousGbola:

Please get an earth resistance tester and confirm the earthing. It should have a resistance of less than 10 ohms or if it is very good 5 ohms. We found that one of our installations had a resistance of 15 ohms and we had to use four earth rods and bentonite to resolve this.
How much is Bentonite sold these days?

Lots of factors could cause it also. Which includes but not limited to Charging Battery with wrong Battery Profile. Eg. Charging Lithium Battery with Flooded Battery Profile.
Battery pack assembled without a capable BMS, Absence of safety fuses, improper sizing of Wires, Placing Battery without proper cooling and ventilation. Etc.

Yeah, the bms also must've failed too as the battery was successfully overcharged which led to this failure.

That's insane. Why would anyone do that.

Trying to save on cost. Painting the shop, repairing the roof and buying two freezers, plus lost goods all could've been prevented had he bought a charge controller.

I've seen a small pack of 1kwh lithium gut a shop. Everything inside was gone. This happened in the afternoon with people around. Battery fire is no joke. Hence best to use the best of everything. The cause of the fire was charging the battery directly without a charge controller.

Update from my Klasha's experience

I decided to try another method that just flashed through my mind 3 days ago, i did scout around to know whether Klasha has official WhatsApp number & sure enough they have, one US number like that

I added it & did chat them up, they replied shortly after, i made my complaints thesame way i've been making it via the in app customer care service about my refund that haven't reflected on my wallet since last month, they apologized & asked me to provide thesame exact documents the in app CS has been requesting from me too in the past, i reluctantly provided them, they said they'll forward em to refund department, follow it up & give me feedback just same way in app CS has been saying too, i said ok & thanked them

Just this morning (22-06-2024), something led me to opening Klasha app, i just saw my money on my wallet, no mail or push notification, i was so surprised & happy, i checked the date when it reflected, guess what? It was same day i did chat the Klasha WhatsApp help line, i did withdraw my funds immediately!

If anyone is having any issue(s) with Klasha at the moment, i suggest they give the WhatsApp help line a try, i see those their in app CS as more of a gimmick, sometimes i even wonder if they do forward the complaints at all to the promised relevant departments as one time one addressed me by another name that isn't my name, imagine!

Special thanks to
@Olamak1
@Jboixxx
@mctfopt & others that have been of great help

Oh, WhatsApp saving lives since 1960 smiley

Via TT or through debit card. Buyer protection is only applicable for goods bought. Not for logistics mistakes if the goods is not shipped by Alibaba

Did you use a procurement agent or you did everything yourself on the site? I was chatting with Selina from New Deriy but I chickened out when she was sending different number as their Nigeria shipper. I nor wan enter voicemail

Follow up the numbers sent. Those guys will surely ship your goods. I always follow up on contacts Chinese sellers are always great at finding out genuine shoppers because if you don't get to receive your goods, they don't get to sell to you again. They love repeat business more than a fat kid loves cake. smiley
