It depends on the location of the store. If the seller is located in Hong Kong, your package is likely to be shipped via Singapore Post or Netherlands Post through NIPOST.

Speedaf handles packages from China Mainland.

Guess all my packages are from Mainland. The thing is, I don't even bother to check where it's coming from.

Very embarrassing experience at Ketu Nipost Office today. Honestly i wish these Aliexpress sellers can be notified not to use the Nigerian Postal Service for shipping items. I don't know how one can go about it. Just pure extortion and an obvious broad day light robbery.

Good evening gurus in the house,

I bought a hybrid inverter and a Wi-Fi module from a seller through AliExpress and the package was delivered on the (05/06/2025). The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was that the manual and communication cable were not included in the package which I notified the seller. He was very slow in responding to my complain. I persisted and he later sent me a soft copy of the manual which I have printed.

I had the inverter installed and it was working. I went to town to get the cable and discovered the Wi-Fi module was not working. I have tried several cables but the Wi-Fi module still will not work. I have been contacting the seller but he has refused to acknowledge my complaints.

Can anyone give me an advice on how to handle this issue as I feel the seller is deliberately ignoring me and time is going.

Open dispute before the time expires, I think it expires after like 15 days of acknowledging receipt.

Delivery is a bit faster now, expecially for Speedaf shipments. I got a package delivered last week, the item took 11 days from ordering to delivery.

That's awesome. I wish sea shipping will be like 30 days.

Since I started my off-grid journey, yesterday was the worst day I've encountered so far with less than 1kwh of energy generated.

The rain started on Friday here in Lagos, with a bit of sunlight in my area that was able to fully charge my batteries. The rain progressed to yesterday being Saturday which lasted the whole day with no sight of sunlight 😭.

Thank God for the decision I took to over size my battery bank as it paid off yesterday.

People often ask how many batteries they need, the reply is buy as much as you can afford. As you may probably need it one day.

I don't take any new "breakthrough" from this channel seriously. Reason is simple, many of these never make it to the market as some of them may not be practical. But by Jove it does look fantastic on paper.

I watch Undecided by Matt as an entertainment channel. Not really as technology that will ever see the light of day.

I think TEMU has the best delivery speed compare to aliexpress and alibaba, my TEMU Packages only takes 2weeks max for delivery but Aliexpress and Alibaba takes forever

My AliExpress packages never exceed 14 days.

I noticed my Gospower 6kw inverter fan just spiked with higher noise. Load was 500w and generation was 1000w. My 15kwh was at 60% then. Within 20mins the battery dropped to 31%. I've verified no load from anywhere. I had to shut it down for now. The inverter is installed inside.

Has anyone experienced this?

The PDs are fast charger if your device supports it.

I once undertook to extract data from the PVGIS website, to show a client why the south face was overall the best orientation to place the panels. The data represents conservative averages over 2005-2020 for hourly PV production per 1kw. The data is for ILORIN particularly, I assume the data will vary for other locations due to unique sun path at each location.

I never return defective item. Because if you do, you'd pay more than $20 to do that.

You can install the 5 in series on the inverter, but if you want to make it 6, that's even better. Like I said, the more the merrier.

Installer one said 12 panels on 120A cc and 6 panels on inverter itself since it is hybrid-80mmpt cc .According to him,this is to allow proper charging of the 15KWH battery.He also said he will connect the panels 3 in series.

Installer two said the 12 panels on the 120A charge controller is enough to charger the battery.I just need an independent verifier though I am yet to get the installation quote from both of them

Install all your panels. The more the merrier.

Your total number of panels is how many? You mentioned 12 and 5 extra. Then mentioned 12 and 6. Which is it? 17 or 18?

You can connect 12nos of 450w in the 3s and 4p to the 120A Felicity charge controller. Ensure you buy a good 10mm² PV cable for that. The rest can go in series to your inverter.

Having an oversized panels is sweet, your day run will mainly be off the solar panels, leaving battery to be used during sundown and night.

Same reason you dont find BT or wifi BMS on budget batteries, or even Screens, this has nothing to do with the quality of cells.

High quality BMS ain't cheap.

As you noticed, cheap quality battery pack often come with bare bone BMS.

I have implemented several automations. One automation turns off powerful appliances when consumption exceeds solar generation for more than 20 minutes, but only if the time is after 4:00 PM. Another automation activates a custom-built fan that I attached to the external heatsink when the temperature rises above 48 degrees Celsius. I have an automation that turns on the water heater once the battery reaches 100%.

The past 5 months have been great so far.

My system consists of Deye 6kw SG03 version, Deye SE-G5.1 PRO-B x 2, Jinko 555w x 12

You went all out. That's how you do it, get it right the first time and rest. Or be a penny pincher and do it twice or even thrice.

Did I mention that in the 12 years I never did a single repair until 2023 when internal leakage occured and it was not cooling well.I was told it has internal leakge and was advised to change the internal piping but decided to buy a new one.It is still sitting somehwere in my house to be sold as scrap when I have the time.

We move the same way. I can only repair power related issues of a fridge or freezer. Once it gets to condenser/leakage and compressor issues, I'm better off replacing it as this fix never lasts.

See the picture of this particular mount, ignore the pv I scribbled out, these 6 visible panels are the JA solar mount facing north.

Edit: For transparency, I’ve included the picture without the scribbled panels to show they are different panels, those are jinkos and part of the south facing string.

I have pv input on other mppt strings facing south (not visible in the picture).

Oh, this is good to hear. I was thinking the clearance will be much more than this.

This is awesome to see the clearance is just the usual 2-3 inches.

Don’t agree to be talked down on buying bi-facial panels for roof mount, especially if you have an angled roof made of aluminium or other reflective material and it is of a light colour

A battery that says max charge at 100a, does it mean I have to set 100a on the inverter? It's currently at 60a on the inverter settings. I use a Felicity 3kva and 3.5kw lithium. Bulk and float charge is set already at 28v.

Your inverter may not do more than 60A

Also you really don't have to charge your batteries at the maximum recommended current for it to be ok.

Slow charge from grid may be as a result of different factors such as poor input voltage, bad frequency etc. What is the grid charging current?

Back in my early days in AliExpress, I used to contact sellers. These days I just do my due diligence and click buy. I no longer contact sellers on AliExpress before hitting the buy button. Once I'm through with vetting the reviews, and by Jove, I do vet it. There are too many fake reviews, easy to spot if you've got experience.

The only place I contact sellers are in Alibaba. That one is 100% you must do that.

You can never go wrong with Scanftost freezer.Had one since around 2011,it got spoilt in 2023 and I replaced with another Scanftost.Superb freezing,!!
