Don’t rush into hasty judgment I don’t mean the whole of Ogbaru please, because some part of Ogbaru migrated from Igala, I mean my own town and a few others. And I hope you are not referring to Chinua Achebe the great story teller, because if he is the one you are referring to he is from Ogidi which is the upper part of Anambra and not Ogbaru
ChristianNorth: Piece of cake. Your great grand father migrated from benin and settled at Ogbaru. He married an Igbo woman to start a family line you are part of.
It doesn't mean a Benin man founded Ogbaru. Achebe is from there and he never mentioned of that.
Lol U don try. Yes I am an Igbo I speak Igbo and I am proud Igbo but I have a history that was handed down to me by my great great grand father and you can’t tell me my ancestry more than my grand father have related it who himself was relatively educated by the standards of his time. I am Igbo my ancestral descency is Benin. And I may not even stay in Benin for one day in this earth life but this is my story and this is my root.
hammer6F: DAT IS WAT U HAVE BEEN TOLD, TO MAKE IT LOOK AS IF ANYTHING GREAT WAS HAPPENING IN BENIN BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF THE PORTUGESE.
DONT BE FOOLED.
ALOT OF THESE AFRICAN KINGDOM, REACHED THEIR PEAK WITH THE ARRIVAL OF EUROPEAN SLAVE TRADERS.
U NAME IT, THEY SOLD SLAVES AND RAIDED NEAR BY COMMUNITIES FOR SLAVE.
FROM ASANTE TO OYO, BENIN, ARO AND OBONG OF CALABAR.
U ARE AN IGBO FROM A BORDER TOWN THAT WAS RAIDED BY THE BENIN.
Oga plz quote any book source as your authority. And do well to tell us in which century that the raid took place. Most of the Igbos that are of Benin ancestry left Benin either as a result of migration as a result of famine or war within the Benin empire or power tussle within the court of Oba. Tell me of any recorded war between the Benin empire and any of the Igbo kingdom. Don’t run o present your authority
hammer6F: SHARAP! U WERE THE FIRST TO QUOTE ME, U THIS RUN AWAY BINI SLAVE.
U ARE SO DUMB NOT TO KNOW THAT BENIN KINGDOM SLAVE RAID INTO IGBO TERRITORY, LED SOME TO FLEE IN THE 15TH CENTURY.
NATURALLY, DUE TO THE BORDER NATURE OF THEIR TOWN, U GET SOME IGBO IN BENIN AND BENIN IN IGBO TERRITORY.
HAVE U NOT HEARD BOTH BENIN AND IGBO HAVING THE SAME SURNAME? I.E OKORO, OBAZE ETC
Low life, you must not type on every post u see, I am having an intelligent conversation with some people here on history. How is it your business. Must you guys go around throwing dirty energy all around. Some people naturally belongs to the nether region. Do you think everyone on nairaland care about your ethnic thrash. We are talking history here if you have nothing to contribute get lost. I am sorry that I honored you with a reply. But I hate mediocres with passion and the way I see you, you are one .
Bros I am stating it unequivocally, without any fear of contradiction and I do not mean to incite any hate or venomous remarks. It is not in my character and it will never be to incite people against people. I am quoting verifiable history and someone even provided more detail, I quoted a book too. To delve deeper my Mother is from Onitsha and I was brought up there from Umu Eze Aroli clan specifically I am not demeaning Onitsha I am rather saying what I have read and heard from my Great grand Mother. Even my own village in Ogbaru hail from Benin but having settled in the present Anambra will be counted as Igbo race but that does not mean I trace my origin to Nri. Even my surname that I bear up to this moment is Benin name. And I want to disagree strongly with you that you can present and write anything as history and so your example of a British Monarch does not hold water for me. I do not disagree that Igbos origin is Nri i am simply saying that my own people and Onitsha descendants are of Benin Origin. Cheers
Eberejesus111: Dear brother, we care little we're onitsha or which ever Igbo state, province or community come from. Let me tell you something, do you know that history had been construed and constructed to suit the state or period it is. There is no concrete history, even in the world. Yes! I said even in the world. The queen of England can stand up today and say, the British throne had been found in Morocco or Egypt. She'll give you little bits of details here and there and that's it, people and historians accept and that's it.
Nri kingdom according to historians came before most empires, even Benin, Benin was after Nri. What you would have said is, Benin had political influence in Onitsha and not that they were originally from Benin. It wouldn't be appropriate to incite hate an venomous remarks by individuals in this thread. God bless you.
Onitsha Mmili was known as Ado N'Idu by migrants who departed from the vicinity of the Kingdom of Benin near the far western portion of Igboland (near what is now Agbor), after a violent dispute with the Oba of Benin that can be tentatively dated to the early 1500s. These migrants traveled eastward through what is now Western Igboland and various towns also called "Onitsha", for example Onicha-Ugbo, "farmland-Onitsha". Folklore has it that, Onitsha was founded by one of the sons of Chima, the founder of Issele-Uku kingdom in western Igboland. Chima, a prince who emigrated, settled and founded what is now known as Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area. The eldest son of Chima eventually emigrated across the Niger River to establish the Onitsha community. After their arrival on the east bank (Onicha-mmili, "Onitsha-on-water", see above), the community gradually became a unitary kingdom, evolving from a loosely organized group of "royal" villages to encompass "non-royal" villages comprising Igala settlers, and the native Igbos to form a more centralized entity. Eze Aroli was apparently the first genuinely powerful Obi of Onitsha, the ruler of the city.
But don’t forget that Onitsha traces their origin to Benin. In fact Onitsha are descendants of a Benin prince. I refer you to a book that is no longer very common in circulation called “Azu ndu” I agree that Eze Eri is the foremost king in Igboland but it is important to keep history straight and keeping it straight is saying that Onitsha is not an original Igbo race rather from Benin then they call it Abini. The same goes with some part of Ogbaru people
Why are you defaming the person of Obi of Onitsha in order to promote Eze Eri. Any one that understand traditional Igbo history knows that Onitsha throne is distinct as much as Nri throne. I dare say that no serious person will defame any of these two thrones not even the throne of Ooni of Ife. Respect people’s culture & history for crying out loud.
Is this information verified because I have not heard this version before, if it’s possible plz give me the full gist.
Ijawwomaninoyo: Maybe na karma, Sanusi too thief the throne. It is a law that if an Emir had no son before he died, his first son in law will be Emir. The late Emir who was Sanusi's father in law had son(s) younger than Sanusi's wife but Sanusi used mago mago to beat the supposed heir to it. The guy was holding a position then that Sanusi stripped him off because they were at loggerheads. The installation was done with very high security
IMO has a common boundary with Anambra, there is that possibility of a common boundary with Delta through Ugwuta, if you understand that terrain. I never knew that my LGA in Anambra has a common boundary with River state both through Land and sea until recently. Thank you @poster
Bleiz: Imo state doesn't have any common boundary with Akwa Ibom state. Imo state only has a common boundary with Abia State. Also, Imo state has no boundary with Delta state.
You are judging by short term estimation. I am sure that your Dad have already received his reward for impacting positively in the life of people and his community. What a man Sow he shall reap many times over
Shibaraba: Reject house ke? No o. I'm not wired like that. Selfless service died with my father Lived for others Graded the roads Sent graduates overseas for training. The shooting Range is located outside the town beyond where people live.
Betmaster3: These guys are mad. What happened to doing this in the Forest instead of a place where people lives. What if a stray bullet hit someone? Zoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
Well to that extent we know that it’s a possibility but the bigger the election like Presidency and Governorship the more possibility of leaving some loose ends and that is why I think they go to Tribunal looking for those loose end leads. About other parties yes there are other parties but when you are treating Tribunal cases you face only the petitioned parties. Eg if PDP petition the Tribunal against The number of votes scored by APC. During Audit you simply query the server for APC result and PDP results which are the two parties battling with one another. Except if the Tribunal request for the comprehensive results in order to understand the arguments of the petitioner and respondents. Outside that only the results scored by the two main parties contesting the outcome of the election will be looked at. On the other hand I am sure you will agree with me that all the other parties put together without PDP and APC did not even score up to 10% of the total vote cast
yemex04: Thank you for your point but PO, RACTECH and others are still humans and can still work in synergy to achieve a common goal(bad or good)..this is very possible especially if the patrionage is good...I still fault the results from the server tht PDP is talking about.. as it allocated votes to only PDP and APC...we both know that other parties got votes even though inconsequential.....What do you see to that sir?
Whitepubb: . Bruh I have been there had limonia. And it affected my sacral bones n I couldn't work for almost a year when I was moved to lag I followed my uncle to his church when I entered immediately after he laid his hands on me I threw up something heavy.and since then till now I bathe with cold water ,sleep under ac,walk upright .. even if everybody's including me is fake this man isn't . It worked for me
The physical result is scanned alongside the transmitted figure. This is done at the RA or Ward level where there is discrepancies between typed figures and the main result sheet. The scanned picture of the result sheet will take preeminence .
garfield1: If total accredited voters is 300 and total valid votes is 250,what stops him from inputing apc 200 and pdp 50 whereas in the result sheet it was pdp 150 apc 100
Apologies accepted. Well I am sure u are talking about E transmission of the result which is done with the SCR. Don’t also forget that there is e collation that is done by the RATECH I.e Technical support official where he/she has to confirm that what is transmitted through the SCR is correct and if not that he has the right to Unpublish the result. The result from the unit is also further authenticated by the Technical Support person scanning the all the results under his Ward using the ZPAD on which he sees whatever the PO or APO 2 may have transmitted. I know the point where the POs work stop and I also know that many of them do not know about all these other follow up and backend measures to authenticate a result. So I disagree with you where you say that the SCR can be manipulated in the sense you use it. However, I agree totally with you when you say that Atiku will loose the case because APC lawyers will always tell them that the Electoral Act only recognizes Manual accreditation. There is also another side to all these arguments which I will like an objective lawyer to look at and tell me his stand.
yemex04: Apologies for the way I addressed you..that said...my point is: apart from the accreditation of voters, any other thing the card reader is used for is done using manual processes...e-collation that u talked is done by manually inputting data..The PO will alocate figures to each party/candidate based on the outcome of result that was manually counted...for example, APC had74 votes and PDP 80 votes after manual sorting..now I did the e-collation by simply writing 74 for APC and 80 for PDP in the card reader..if i had wanted to be mischievous, I could hv written 80 for APC and 74 for PDP.as long as it does not exceed the numbers of accredited voters ..the point is the e-collation result is still a function of human...it will still bring out Watever information the PO inputs into it...
mknigeriagreat: lol. Though Yaya Bello has been one of the (if not the) most useless governor in the history of this country. But in a sane society, both Yaya and Dino should be hard labour factory workers working for some Indians. But what do I know? Their people will keep voting the two thugs. So Kogi people should enjoy their dividends of democracy.
