#CBN CREATED THE NAIRA FALL You don't include people that genuily need the Forex in the country and outside while you give it to others who don't need it. If really you policies are meant to help nigerians and the FG then why do you sell Forex to licensed BDCs for them to sell to anybody who is travelling. Those people travelling are merely buying FOREX at CBN rate, under the pretext of travelling, but in fact they buy more than they need in order fo them to sell the remaining FOREX at black market rate, While other individuals NEED the forex.
The reason why black market rate will not fall is due to an allocation of FOREX which is not efficient. CBN, you havn't done your work of identifying the drivers of FOREX demand properly, yes importation of fuel, manufacturing, but have you forgetten that we have people that still import cars ( especially FG and also furnirtures that FG buys) , we have students abroad a lot of them who need to pay rent, fees, electricity. How has the CBN made available FOREX for students and manufacturers also complain of underallocation of FOREX.

The CBN is not allocatin the dollar the way it is due. If you want dollar at CBN rate the only way is to follow CBN licensed BDCs, but there will ask you a visa and plane ticket to prove that you are travelling. This policy is very very very bad. people that have no special need for forex, make travels in order to get forex at cbn rate, and when they come back they go to black market to sell.
Second, the black market rate will never come down because the blackmaketers keep buying from people at higher and higher rates, so for them to make a profit they have to keep selling higher and higher. And the people that will always buy dollar at whatever rates are those who depend on it, the students abroad, these students can only buy from black market because CBN has excluded them from the FOREX policy. We have more than 20 thousand students students abroad who need to pay rent, food, electricity, etc....
If the CBN wants to reduce rate at black market take care of students, find a way to allocate forex to them and the rate will come down. If you don't do it then all this is just a conspiracy

North is composed of 3 geopolitical zones NC(7 states including FCT), NW(6 states), NE( 7 states). While the entire SW has 5 states, SS has 6 small states, SE has 4 small states. So if each political zones are equally represented in the political sphere of this country, for every 6 presidents at least 3 most come from the North. If federal character must apply 50% of all senior appointments must be from the North. Do you agree?

I hope God gives our men the wisdom to understand that cheating is NOT enough reason to divorce their wives, or even complain at all.
winningwinner: I received a mail this morning calling all well meaning Nigerians to come out and protest government's insensitivity to the plight of the conmon man. Reading down the message I saw some sensible and salient issues being addreesed, but what came to my mind threw a chill to my spines. Will Nigerians behave properly during the said protest? Will they conduct themselves properly without giving room to hoodlums to loot, destroy and render innocent people's property useless? Will they have the support of the general populace? A call for nationwide protests as we say No to the Executive, No to legislatures, No to judiciary... You have all failed us.
We the people are tired. We can no longer continue with all of you. All your excuses and mistakes are not funny. We do not wish to continue with a system and government that is not working but afflicting the people. We the people of this country not living under the privileges of government allowances and remuneration have now accepted to take the bull by the horn to come out and protest this obnoxious and baseless policies and excuses of the government of the day.
Where are the recovered looted funds?
Why do we still have the executive arms and legislatures still enjoying their salaries and allowances while we hear there's no money to pay workers?
Why do we still see ceaseless power failures with no explanation and hope of getting out of it unlike before?
Why do we keep seeing peace talks in Niger Delta, fulani heardsmen and ipob without any solutions being reached, while the strategies keeps aggravating the people involved as political leaders stage forums to extort funds in the name of addressing their subjects?
Why did we have petrol price rise to 145 for the sake of global oil price crash and removal of subsidy but such price is still being maintained despite significant re-awakening of the oil price from $30/barrel to $56/barrel?
Who is to be held accountable for the sudden and continuous hike in price of commodities in the market, where for the first time in history, Nigeria is suddenly selling kerosene at 400 naira per litre as against 50 naira per litre, diesel at 300 naira per litre as against 100 naira per litre and petrol from 87 naira to 145 naira? Yet maintaining the same systems, environment and maybe a lesser money spending government.
There's need for Nigerians to rise against what is happening in this country having waited patiently for the legislatures that were elected to represent the people all to no avail.
How can there be rise in cost of living all of a sudden and no one is telling us what is actually happening? Not even a single person in power to address the challenges in the various sectors and introduce palliative measures by the government to cushion the effects?
We call on all Nigerians of good conscience to rise against this inhumanity against mankind, dehumanization and heartlesness living in high places piloting the affairs of this country while we're yet to drawn into a deep blue sea.
To this cause, we the masses wish to use this medium to alert ourselves that on the 5th of February, 2017 , there shall be a nationwide massive protest from state to state, local government to local government, ward to ward and kindred to kindred.
For the first time, all Nigerians shall match out of their houses to the streets with placards displaying what displeases you in the Nigeria of today both in the executive, legislatures and judiciary arms of government.
Cars shall carry green leaves to display the unhappiness we the masses have towards the economic uncertainties in Nigeria and the displeasure of hearing of excuses and mistakes here and there in governance.
Nobody said anybody is above resignation if he cannot meet up the yearnings of the people like David Cameron of United kingdom.
We are tired of getting surprises whenever we visit the market and yet no shake up in government spending amidst the dwindling economic reserve. Our governors and top government functionaries keep living flamboyant lifestyle, building mansions and buying up properties abroad at the most expensive locations in the world and they end up going away with it once they identify with government or political party of the day.
Enough is enough.
We have been pushed to the wall, we have reached our crossroads and our last hope before we are drawned in silence without notice is a massive protest and a vote of no confidence on the people we voted to pilot the affairs of our nation.
May we rise to demand a bann on the following:
Security votes of every government functionaries. Why do we spend extra while their security operatives rely on their normal salaries, why even continue this scheme in a dwindling economy as this in Nigeria today?
Oversight functions.
Excessive allowances like health and travelling allowances abroad, etc.
New yearly furniture allowances, rentals and kitchens for government houses, etc...
And the need to start owing governors salaries etc.
The need to stop local government allocations till they start functioning constitutionally.
The need to channel youth empowerment programs towards youth friendly programs such as sports, information technology, entertainment, innovations, inventions and not just agriculture or farming.
We call on state of emergency on power, bad roads, poor governance, dead local government areas, electoral frauds etc.
God help Nigeria as we rise on the 5th of February, 2017.
Long live the people of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Pls pass it on till it gets to over 145million Nigerians suffering from the current hardship that is capable of turning this country into a living hell if nothing is done about it NOW.

todaynewsreview: Governor Fayose just stormed Midas Hotel, Ado Ekiti to rescue Apostle Johnson Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministry who was to be arrested by the DSS for speaking against Fulani herdsmen killing of Nigerians at his crusade yesternight.
Armed men of the DSS came in THREE Hilux Vans and were laying siege on the hotel before the Governor stormed the hotel this midnight.
Governor Fayose drove himself to the hotel and moved the Man of God to the Govt House.

RaptorX: Actually Nigerian police are mild mannered compared to American cops I know it's hard to believe. I have seen my sister's driver try to run over naija police when they stopped us on my visit to Nigeria and they all move out of the way, American cops will kill you for that and that's a fact.
And why is it Nigerians don't have this same headstrong behavior when dealing with soldiers, I have seen videos of them fighting police,taking police guns etc, but never seen a video of them fighting soldiers despite the beatings they chop from soldiers on a daily basis.

uzolexis: my point is considering the current situation of our country this is not sustainable. This govt is trying to do too many things at work. This is honestly not a priority. If they strengthen institutions and infrastructures e.g electricity, transport etc this will create jobs for people and this job creation will benefit the parents of this children and trickle down to them as well.
True and FG has allocated a lot for that purpose. But you must recognize that reversing decades of poor infrastructure management and vision-less energy policies cannot happen overnight. It is a process, and the government cannot afford to focus only that because at the end of the day every thing is interconnected (Infrastructure-->Energy-->Education)

In Nigeria, unfortunately the emphasis is placed on children going to school rather than on the standard of education at the school - the result will ultimately be a high unemployment rate.
Yes there are few jobs in Nigeria, but compounding that is that most graduates are not employable. Their foundation is flawed (primary and secondary level). Thats the stage you can be molded.
Watch and see how in few months allegations of teachers stealing rice, bags diverted etc etc unfold. You don't fight corruption by creating avenues for corruption

No you are wrong. This is a process. You can't wait until you achieve excellence or whatever standard you are looking for because you can always do more. The role of FG is clear, it is FG that has the mandat to provide equal opportunity to all Nigerians, and it starts from education at basic levels. We Nigerians like to quote countries like US , UK etc, even though i don't usually i will make an exception here, policy makers in these countries always debate on how to improve the educational system in THESE COUNTRIES while there are arguably the best in the world . SO improvement is always part of the journey.

Dude what our schools need is better amenities - a better learning environment, if you like feed students chicken and salad, if teachers are under paid and teach in a poorly furnished classroom, we will still get half baked or even unbaked graduates.
How hard is it to understand. Most people are poor and would rather see their kids work to earn a little to help the family, the more children there is the more burden on the family, so some parents don't send their children to school because then how would they feed their children if food isn't enough so they need the child to hustle too which can keep the child out of school. Here the government offers to feed the child so the parent doesn't have to worry about it, at least for that 2 meal. Other parents do send their children to school but too often with an empty stomach, or with no enough meal for them to have the energy to study properly. With this policy FG takes away these disincentives from parents. It is just an incentive to have more children attend school and be focus on the education.
You can have all the furniture you want but if pupils are distracted or if they can't come to school it's pointless. And this is just one policy others will come. Every policy at its time
