Christianity EtcTOXIC AFRICAN PARENTS - Christianity For Africans by meavox(op): 9:27am On May 03, 2020
TOXIC AFRICAN PARENTS

It is evident given the current low state of Africa, that parenting has been on the poor side. Africans are therefore reaping the consequences by our countries being among the LEAST developing nations and the MOST corrupt ones. However, we have a tendency to blame others for where we find ourselves. We blame our politicians, we blame our civil servants, and we blame our traditional rulers.

Although the quote below is about Nigeria, it applies to every Black African country:
“Nigerians are wont to blame the government….at the same time, many who point fingers at the government, in their private lives, encourage all that is wrong with the society”. (Urenna Ukiwe and Happiness Nleweoha, in “Change: The Responsibility Of The People Or The Government?” The Guardian news)

The key point is this: “…MANY WHO POINT FINGERS AT THE GOVERNMENT, IN THEIR PRIVATE LIVES, ENCOURAGE ALL THAT IS WRONG WITH THE SOCIETY”! This is a typical African home in one sentence, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, professing Christian or not. This is why Africa remains corrupt and not developing. We have toxic homes led by toxic parents.

Now, God says that He is looking only for those who are able to worship Him in spirit and in TRUTH (John 4: 24). We must be serious about our eternal souls African Christian, because to be acceptable to a Holy God, truth-seeking and truth-telling must be evident in your life. Truth means all truth: Biblical truth as well as personal truth. So if you are unable to tell yourself the truth or to hear the truth from others, and get angry, you are shutting yourself out of God’s presence.

Toxic parents are those parents who in reality live for SELF. For, if they really cared about their children they would teach them the way of righteousness and disciplined character. Not the way of cheating in exams, not the way of seeing lying as being clever, not the way of dishonesty, not the way of insincerity, and not the way of “African time” keeping, or all those other things that spoil African society.
Furthermore, because toxic parents live for SELF, they will not put themselves out to bring about change in their society. Even change that would benefit their own children.

Like Rev Martin Luther King of blessed memory who was a bright light against corruption in his day and paid the ultimate price, the TRUE Christian has no fear of his own death for he knows that it is God who holds and protects his children, not parents. Thus, the TRUE Christian is able to boldly and fearlessly be light and salt as his Lord Jesus commanded, and teach his children so to be no matter the cost (Matthew 5: 13-16).

Corruption starts from the home then spreads to the school and the rest of society. Africa is corrupt because families are corrupt. If you are a toxic parent, teaching your children dishonesty, and are unwilling to be salt and light in your country by getting involved (not even for your children’s sake), then while you still have life, we urge you to repent and make restitution. Live as one who knows that this world is not your home, and that you have a glorious eternal home to look forward to. Amen.

Thank God for the Chinese o, because of them Nigeria is now developed like Canada, London and USA. The author must have written this article under alcoholic influence or something stronger.
My friend perhaps you should go to any market and see China there in every product. All na "Made in China"! Don't forget to wear your "made in China" face mask grin

Nigeria is developed by Nigerians, and remember that the world is now a global market also know that we are making gains from goods that are imported.
This is how it should be oooo.

Africans should develop Africa.

But is that happening? I agree that 1 or 2 are doing well. But most are not doing anything to improve Nigeria. Time is now against us. Global Warming is worse than any Coro. Naira is being devalued as I write.

I too prefer Nigerians develop Nigeria. But when our professionals rather go work for Oyeebo because money is better and life sweeter, how can Nigeria develop QUICKLY without Chinese? Especially now that every Nigerian girl/woman just wants to marry and bring forth a multitude of pikin. But no plans at all for the good of those children? So my brother, let's be realistic. It's not the best solution, but Chinese is better than nothing abi? Our young people are highly frustrated that they are in a sh*thole country and compare their life with that of Oyeebo youth. We can't blame them now. They want results, not nice sounding words. Nah wah for this Naija life.

PSALM FOR NIGERIA
(adapted from Psalm 140)

1 Rescue Nigeria, Lord, from evildoers; remove those civil servants and politicians from us.
2 Those who corruptly enrich themselves, they think that ill-gotten gain is making them progress in life.
3 Their unproductive lives are like deadly snakes; their pride of life is like a cobra's poison.
4 Protect Nigerians, oh Lord, from the power of the wicked; keep us from these greedily corrupt people who hold top jobs in the land who desire their own "prosperity" through their schemes that loot Nigeria.
5 These proud and corrupt ones have trapped up Nigeria and Nigerians; they have control over every ministry, agency and department, plus government and along the path they have set traps for us so that their children continue like them.
6 We cry out to the Lord, “Please be our God.” Hear our cries for help, Lord!
7 Oh Sovereign Lord, please be our strong Defender, Please protect us in this battle against these corrupt ones with human power over us.
8 Lord, don't give these wicked ones what they want; don't let their plots to corruptly enrich themselves succeed.
9 Don't let our enemies be victorious; make their corruption, impunity and treachery against Nigeria fall back on them.
10 May red-hot coals fall on them; may they be thrown into a pit and never get out.
11 May those who destroy our lives, hopes and dreams through looting public funds be turned to hell; may evil overtake these civil servants and politicians, and destroy them.
12 Lord, I know that you defend the cause of the poor and the rights of the needy.
13 Lord please help us to rid Nigeria of corruption and we will praise You indeed; we will obey You and You will teach us how to live in Your presence.

LEAVE CHINESE ALONE!

Without the Chinese Nigeria will never develop SO LEAVE THEM ALONE!

For 60 years we have had leaders that refuse to develop Nigeria. Even simple electricity they steal the money and won't provide. Same for hospitals and functioning schools/universities.

We youth are tired of Nigeria under Nigerian rule. Nothing works. Our leaders are our worst enemies.

Parents too have not lived to their responsibilities. They have not cared about us like White parents care for their children. Nigerian parents have not stood up and demanded good things for their children like White parents do.

We have no hope in our leaders to help us from this mess. We have no hope in our parents to help us from this mess. Chinese are here. They are Nigeria's hope now. We need power, we need roads, trains, world standard education with science and technology. We are tired of Nigeria and failure. 60 years and still Nigeria is an unborn baby in the womb.

Chinese developed China in fast time. Nigerian youth want development. So leave Chinese alone! If you want to be angry, be angry with Nigerian leaders. Be angry with Nigerian parents. They put us and are leaving us in this backwards state. Just leave Chinese alone so that they can bring development to Nigeria.

WHY WE REJECT THE NIGERIA DEFINED BY THE ‘1999 CONSTITUTION’ - Movt New Nigeria
My brothers of Middle Belt and South, looming chaos and catastrophe is facing us, and most especially our children.

Once lockdown is removed Coro will begin to kill Nigerians. My brethren of Middle Belt and South, let us not die for nothing. Let us die for something: The 1999 Constitution is against us. It is TOXIC. Here is a fully explained post from Lower Niger Congress stating clearly the toxic 1999 Constitution. Read it. Spread the message. Work to make a new Nigeria happen. This September 5, 2011 Public Communication of the MNN Alliance is a MUST READ for all who wish to understand the reasoning behind the impending Constitutional Force Majeure to Take Down the Fraudulent and Toxic 1999 Constitution along with the Unitarism it foists.
—————————————————————
(MNN = Movement For New Nigeria)
JUNE 30, 2011 MNN DECLARATION: WHY WE REJECT THE NIGERIA DEFINED BY THE ‘1999 CONSTITUTION’ - MNN, September 5, 2011.
(Being the text of a Joint Press Conference by the Lower Niger Congress, the Middle-Belt Congress and the Federation of Oodua People under the aegis of the Movement for New Nigeria held September, 5, 2011 at Lagos in response to the torrents of enquiries that trailed the JUNE 30 MNN LAGOS DECLARATION by which the Delegates of the Peoples of Southern and Middle-Belt Nigeria under the aegis of the Movement for New Nigeria Jointly Repudiated the Unitary 1999 Constitution of Nigeria and Committed themselves to the Urgent Task of Taking Down the Worse-than-Apartheid 1999 Constitution, in Restoration of their long-suppressed Sovereignties and in assertion of their Inalienable Right To Self-Determination).

Introduction
It will be recalled that at a World Press Conference held June 30, 2011 in Lagos after a week-long retreat , the Movement for New Nigeria declared its position on the tottering Nigerian Project in a Statement titled ‘THE FAILED STATE OF NIGERIA: OUR STAND’ (later published in full in an advertorial on page 38 of the August 25th 2011 edition of the Daily Sun Newspaper)….

The paradox of free and fair elections yielding so much bloodshed has left most observers and stake-holders confused and bewildered and has thrown up deeper questions about Nigeria than elections could answer. It is evident that the violence is an open confrontation between the forces of feudalism which had held Nigeria hostage from birth and the forces of liberty which for once, put up a successful challenge. The violence has its roots in the foundations of Nigeria….
The Genesis

The history of how Nigeria came into being as an amalgam of various British Colonies in the ‘Niger Area’ is too well known to bear any repetition, save to mention that in the early 1950s when the departure of the British colonialists became imminent, the peoples of the vast territory, realizing their deep differences accepted to remain in one political Union at independence on the basis of FEDERALISM in which the then federating 3 Regions had autonomy over their territories whilst jointly running the Central (Federal) Government as a Union office for a limited range of delegated responsibilities. Each Region had its own Constitution, developed at its own pace using its own resources while contributing to the up-keep of the Centre.

However, the British and their Fulani feudalist friends in the North who had other sinister designs had managed to smuggle certain dangerous ingredients into the broth for which the independence that was offered became hollow for the rest of Nigeria. Thus, whilst the rest of Nigeria celebrated what they thought was freedom from British rule in October 1960, the Leader and Premier of the then Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and his lieutenants were celebrating something else, succinctly captured in the words of Sir Bello one week after the lowering of the Union Jack in October 1960:

“The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools and the South as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future”. – Parrot Newspaper, 12th October 1960. Recalled by Tribune Newspaper, 13th November 2002….

This elaborate Mission Statement and Battle Script has been carried out to the letter…All the woes and failures of present day Nigeria as well as the misery of its peoples flow directly from the single-minded execution of that Script…. made permanent in the form of a unilaterally imposed ‘1999 Constitution’ which defines Nigeria…. The hapless rest of Nigeria must now obey the ‘law’.

The Sarduana 1960 Battle Script and the 1999 Constitution
A detailed examination of Nigeria’s current constitutional reality under the microscope of the 1960 Battle Script will show that the unitary constitutional order we have in place today (the so called 1999 Constitution) represents the full implementation of the 1960 Script both in content and process. The key dramatis personae…can clearly be identified in their assigned roles and status within the Battle Script; the authentic heirs of the estate from the real North like Murtala Mohammed and Shehu YarA’dua,; the willing tools from the minority North like Yakubu Gowon and Theophilus Danjuma and collaborating slaves from the South led by the head-slave Olusegun Obasanjo .

The ruthlessness by which the cold-blooded murders/pogroms which accompanied the overthrow of 5 Constitutions in 1966 were executed is unmistakable in the spirit of the Script. The kangaroo trial and imprisonment of Chief Obafemi Awolowo for out-performing the British-anointed candidate, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa at the independence election, bears the mark….the MKO Abiola saga... murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and his Ogoni kinsmen by one Justice Ibrahim Auta under the field supervision of one Lt.Col Dauda Komo, then military Administrator of Rivers State; Odi, Okerenkoko, Ogbakiri, Umuechem and Gbaramatu tasted of the ruthlessness by which any push for change was to be put down.

The ….‘Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’ is a of reflection the ‘never-allow-them’ aspect of the 1960 Script.

Specific examples of feudal-compliant contents of the ‘1999 Constitution:
1. Force as basis of the Nigerian Union/ Constitution:. The 1999 Constitution was imposed via Decree No. 24 of 1999 with a false claim in its preamble that ‘We the people…’ enacted and gave same unto ourselves. In contrast, the 5 Constitutions (4 Regional and 1 Federal) sacked by the Military in 1966 were painstakingly negotiated and agreed upon by the leaders and representatives of the then federating Regions. Today, force as against consent remains the basis of the Nigerian Union….

2. Unilateral Structural Reconstruction of Nigeria: Of the 4 Regions sacked in January 1966, one, (the Northern Region) has by fiat (Decrees) become 19 States plus the Federal Capital Territory, thus controlling a solid majority in the National Assembly while the other 3 Regions (Eastern, Western, Mid-Western) plus the then Lagos Federal Capital Territory have been compressed into a mere 17 States together being a minority in the National Assembly. This is compounded by the creation of 774 revenue sucking outlets called Local Government Areas in which the North hold more than half. Altogether, no matter who becomes President, the revenue sharing reality is one in which those who bring nothing to the treasury take away about 70% of its contents as dictated by the ‘Constitution’. These terrible reconstructions were decreed by Yakubu Gowon, Muritala Mohammed, Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Abacha and..Abdusalam Abubakar….THE FEUDAL OVERLORD MUST BE IN CONTROL EVEN IF DISGUISED AS CONSTITUTIONALISM.

3. Resource Hijack. The 1969 Petroleum Decree by which the oil and gas assets of Eastern Nigeria (so-called South-East & South-South) got hijacked by the Federal Government was issued by willing-tool Yakubu Gowon in the name of the war with break-away Biafra. That hijack was made permanent and ‘legitimate’ by the inclusion of oil and gas on the Federal Exclusive Legislative List in the ‘Constitution’…. The email statement from MEND heralding the October 1st 2010 bombings in Abuja referred specifically to this constitutional mutilation as the injustice they are fighting to reverse. By the same design, the seaports of Port-Harcourt, Calabar and Warri which belonged to the then Eastern and Mid-Western Regions are now property of Abuja. The Lagos seaports have fallen into this category since the Federal Capital role which ostensibly justified federal control of Lagos ports has shifted to Abuja. Bottom-line: all assets of value must be in the hands of the feudal overlords who then dispense as they deem fit.

4. The 1978 Land Use Decree was used to impose the feudal land tenure system of the North upon the South thereby expropriating Southern land owners and toppling the well established, world acclaimed, age-long land tenure systems of the Southern territories and more importantly, destroying a key aspect of the Southern peoples’ traditional economic system which hold sacrosanct, the right to private property. This particular violation locks away billions of Dollars worth of what would have been investment capital in the hands of land owners who are now completely at the mercy of imperial governors for certification (C of O) or consent without which their lands remain without significant commercial value. By another Decree in 1979, that atrocious Law was elevated into the fortress of the ‘Constitution’ where it majestically resides to date. A little probe into the title deeds of one big farm in Otta will reveal the kind of use to which the said Land Use Decree had been put by the head-slave through whom it was wrought…..

5. The NYSC Decree of 1973 by Gowon was a ploy by the feudal North to evade the yawning imperative for a sovereign meeting between the peoples of Nigeria to re-negotiate the terms of their Union and re-establish confidence in the project after the mindless blood-letting pogrom /war of 1966-1970…They cannot understand why their Crown-Prince, Buhari will have to be subjected to the indignity of contesting for who will rule over their great grandfather’s estate, Nigeria, with a conquered slave under the pretense of some stupid democracy which must be a Southern/Middle-Belt ploy to choke them out of their inheritance. For that, blood must flow and it did flow. The hidden benefit of ‘balance of trade’ in favour of the North whereby their wards get sent to Port-Harcourt and Lagos to melt into oil companies, banks and telecommunication companies , dwelling in absolute safety while the sacrificial lambs from Port-Harcourt and Lagos end up Bauchi and Maiduguri where they get posted to some stone-age, run down primary schools with no job prospects post-service, but running the gauntlet between Boko-Haram and ruthless pupils who can behead their teacher for wearing NYSC trouser-kit…Still on the subject of corper safety, it is noteworthy that the traditions in the Southern territories place a sacred duty upon all to protect a stranger even at the risk of losing one’s life. It was this duty that fell upon Lieutenant Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi as Governor of Western Region when he opted to lay down his life in defence of his guest, Major-General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi from the bloodthirsty Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma…To the feudal North, the master never negotiates with his slaves, so no to Sovereign National Conference!.

6 The 68-item Federal Exclusive List: The desperate bid to bring everything under absolute control in keeping with the dictates of the feudal Script is reason we have a 68-item Federal Exclusive Legislative List in the 1999 Constitution resulting in over-centralization and gross inefficiency, corruption and infrastructural decay. Electricity generation and transmission, police/firearms, railways, ports/aviation, highways, prisons, mines/minerals, and a long list of other items including driving license and vehicle plate number which the federating units could have more efficiently handled and which the defunct Regions had charge over, now all await the pleasure of Abuja and the result is the disaster we have in our hands… No amount of reforms, money throwing or Vision 20-20-20 will change anything until that list is decongested. The autopsy reports on Nigeria Airways, The National Shipping Line, The Nigeria Railways, NITEL, NEPA etc are living testimonies of this truth.

7. Non-Accountability under the 1999 Constitution. Since accountability is anathema to the feudal system, provisions were worked into the 1999 Constitution to banish any form of accountability and comprehensively protect the lords of the manor. First, Section.6(6)(c) which render the entire socio-economic welfare provisions in Chapter II of that Constitution non-justiciable, in effect cancels the citizens’ benefits of the social contract of governance and actually absolves the governments of any responsibility to the citizens. The appropriation provisions in Sections 82 and 122 give the spare keys of the entire Nigerian treasury to the President and the Governors while Section 308 offer absolute immunity from probe or sanction to these same officials. Taken together, these three provisions constitute the fountain from which corruption flows freely throughout the land… in Nigeria of today, corruption is official and this is a much bigger problem than officials being corrupt. Those who sit in the fortified refuge camp of Abuja, sharing the billions dollars confiscated by the ‘Constitution’ as well as their field commanders called Governors will do nothing to upset this sweet arrangement unless compelled. The authentic owners of the estate are now set to recover them from the feudal impostors.

Many other policy instruments such as Federal Character, Quota System and the latest mutation of it, zoning, are at the root of the pervasive mediocrity which Nigeria as a country has enthroned above merit and excellence for which reason many developmental issues other countries have resolved and taken for granted for decades remain unattainable….

LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL:
I) That the Nigeria of today as defined by the so-called ‘1999 Constitution’ is totally different from and is in fact a dummy of the original one into which the various nationalities consensually federated at Independence which was abandoned in January 1967 after a failed attempt to resuscitate it in Aburi.

II) That since the basis of the Nigerian Union has been fundamentally altered by a combination of brute force and subterfuge Animal Farm-style, culminating in the fraudulent 1999 Constitution under which a vast majority, along with their assets are ‘legitimately’ enslaved by a tiny minority supported by foreign allies who generously partake of those of those assets, WE OF THE ENTRAPPED ETHNIC NATIONS OF THE LOWER NIGER TERRITORY,THE MMIDDLE-BELT AND OODULAND having participated in numerous countrywide peaceful processes which unsuccessfully sought to persuade the internal colonialists of Nigeria to address this terrible situation, now have no option but to seek the retrieval of our stolen sovereignties from the failed British experiment called ‘Nigeria’ since our pleas and demand for a sovereign meeting had been ignored and resisted since 1967.

III) That those who on May 29th,2011 swore to preserve, protect and defend the ‘1999 Constitution’ were by implication offering their best abilities and might to preserve and enforce the enslavement and torment of those who are currently enslaved by the fraudulent 1999 Constitution. May we wish remind such persons and indeed all stakeholders that there is also a huge community persons, groups and organizations who have earlier sworn and are fully committed to the decommissioning and dismantling of the fraudulent 1999 and have taken decisive steps in pursuit of same, not because they are anarchists but because they believe that force cannot remain the basis of the Nigerian Union . The MNN, Lower Niger Congress, Middle-Belt Congress and the Federation of Oodua People are in the forefront… challenging the legitimacy of the 1999 Constitution and seeking its orderly termination/replacement by a negotiated alternative, can pass for a winding-up process for the foisted Nigeria. It smacks of criminality for anyone to continue the governance of Nigeria on the basis of the forged and fraudulent 1999 Constitution….It is pity that the body of lawyers in Nigeria have kept mum and are colluding in this horrible affront on the rule of law.

IIII) That amendment is not an option since the National Assembly is itself in dispute neither do the members have constituent powers to make or remake a constitution. Those who in mischief or ignorance look towards amendments for cure to the issues raised herein are by that suggesting that the hired management team of a company can make or change the contents of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of a company to the exclusion of the shareholders who own the company. The shareholders and owners of the Nigeria enterprise are the federating nationalities in whatever formations, who would be countries of their own if Nigeria was not in place. The damaged house of Nigeria as embodied in the 1999 Constitution is overdue for demolition and reconstruction. Amendments of whatever types is like changing door, windows furniture or painting and will be discountenanced when the bulldozer arrives…

V) Until recently, the options before Nigeria were clear: Either to return to ABURI or to head on to ARABA since ABUJA has failed beyond redemption. (‘Abuja’ means Nigeria as defined by the 1999 Constitution. ‘Aburi’ means the original federal set-up agreed upon in 1954 as the basis of the Nigerian Union. ‘Araba’ means the inevitable, unilateral self-redemption steps in self-determination, in other words To thy Tents O Isreal!) We fear that the Aburi option has now been kicked out of the table by the sustained post-election violence unleashed by the Sharia North leaving us with Araba only.

ACCORDINGLY, THE ONLY CHOICE LEFT TO BE MADE BY ALL STAKEHOLDERS IS BETWEEN A COSENSUAL PEACEFFUL DISSOLUTION OF THE FAILED NIGERIAN PROJECT OR TO WAIT FOR THE UNILATERAL, UNCO-ORDINATED EXIT OF ERSTWHILE FEDERATING BLOCS WHICH MAY BECOME DISORDERLY AND EVEN VIOLENT. MNN INVITES ALL TO EMBRACE THE PEACEFUL OPTION AS IT HOLDS THE BEST PROSPECTS FOR AN EARLY RETURN TO FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURLINESS.

PoliticsConstitutional Force Majeure Is A Must In Final Takedown Of Unitary Nigeria: Mnn by meavox(op): 7:55am On May 02, 2020
CONSTITUTIONAL FORCE MAJEURE IS A MUST IN FINAL TAKEDOWN OF UNITARY NIGERIA – MNN/LNC Bulletin

The Covid 19 infection manifests its lethality in victims with an already preexisting medical condition. What applies to individual patients also is the case with countries. Even economies that are in relatively good health, like China and the US, have taken serious beating and pummeling since the Covid-19-inspired economic shutdown. These economies are anticipated to recover fully to what they used to be before the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigeria is a country with a preexisting condition called the Dutch disease. Dutch disease refers to the problems associated with a rapid increase in the production of raw materials (like oil and gas) causing a decline in other sectors of the economy. When the raw materials run out, the economy can be in a worse position than before. In the case of Nigeria, crude oil and natural gas deposits still exist. But those who used to pay top currency for the Nigerian Bonny Light have no need for fossil fuels which are now being sourced in abundance from shale geologic formations in many parts of the world. It is on top of the preexisting Dutch disease that the deadly Covid-19 pandemic struck. Nigeria is presently dazed, confused and miserably broke, with no relief in sight.

This is the ideal opportunity for whoever are enslaved in the Lugardian plantation of today’s Unitary Nigeria to make a spirited move to actualize their freedom to self-determination, once and for all. The minders of the crumbling status are like deer in the headlight, unsure of the next moves. But “We the people…”, who have been presumed to be “willing tools” and serfs in the “conquered territory” have always remained alert and ready to head for the gates to our freedom. Some have suggested a return to an agro-based economy as the ONLY sure path for future survival. Well, Unitarism must first be buried six feet under to allow for the emergence of a novel grassroots-based agriculture-driven economic system reminiscent of what existed in the First Republic.

But an imposed fraudulent 1999 Constitution has been used, in various forms in the past 50 years, to destroy a once productive and prosperous post-Independence Nigeria whose Eastern Region recorded the fasted growth in the gross domestic product (GDP) globally. 200 million stakeholders are now being hoodwinked with a fake document (so-called 1999 Constitution) contrived by General Abdulsalami Abubakar as an instrument for entrenching feudal Fulani hegemonic rule over Africa’s most populous country and little else. Buckle up, folks, for the impending Constitutional Force Majeure.

xcabczyxabczzzz:
You can't blame the people alone, most of the institutions in Nigeria are corrupt. Nepotism, tribalism, and all that is not helping matter.

When as an individual you realise you can't change those vices, your next move na to japa.
My brother, this is the problem of Nigerians/Africans. We think only of INDIVIDUAL and of SELF.

But if we were to think COLLECTIVELY and be concerned about our GROUP/COMMUNITY, we have the numbers to rescue Nigeria.

Oyeebo think and work COLLECTIVELY. That's why their countries are good. We too if we stop the INDIVIDUAL outlook, can rescue Nigeria.
TravelHas A War Against African Migrants Started? by meavox(op): 7:13am On May 01, 2020
I will keep on saying it: My MB and Southern brethren, we must rescue ourselves from this One Nigeria by Restructuring into a proper Confederation or Split up. Our people use their energy to flee to Europe where they are not wanted. Our professionals flee to Europe as paid slaves to use their energy to build up Europe rather than build up Nigeria. Because of MONEY. You see Nigeria in tatters and for love of money you take the broad and easy way instead of using your energy to join those of us who will stay here even if we die. Oyeebo fixed their country. So we too can rescue Nigeria so that our professionals can make that MONEY they want right in Nigeria.

But if everybody runs to Oyeebo country who can fix Nigeria? Is it the poor? Is it the weak? Is it the uneducated? You think your God does not care about them?
God go punish you! I am not cursing you. You are cursing your own self by being in Europe when your own house needs your strength and expertise.

BBC and Guardian will not carry such news as the one below. But increasingly Oyeebo want Africans to leave Europe.

You may be a Nigerian professional working in an Oyeebo university, hospital or office and feel safe. But one day as you or your children walk the streets, or go to a shop, you will face that racism. Will God help you? Well, did you help the poor and uneducated of Nigeria or did you flee abroad?

MB and South - LET US FIX NAIJA AND RESTRUCTURE IT. RUNNING AWAY ABROAD IS NOT GOD'S SOLUTION TO NIGERIA'S SITUATION.

FRANCE: 50 CHECHENS STORM MIGRANT RECEPTION CENTER AND ATTACK ‘AFRICAN RIVALS’
By ARTHUR LYONS 30 April 2020
Voice of Europe

Four people were left with injuries on Friday night after a group of 50 Chechens armed with sticks, bats, and iron bars stormed the migrant reception center in Barberey-Saint-Sulpice, France.

The old Fast Hotel, now a facility which houses migrants and asylum seekers, became a “war scene” after 50 Chechens rushed in to confront and “kill” African rivals living at facility, according to testimony given by a security guard and former soldier who works at the establishment.

“They had sticks, bats, sticks, iron bars, they were running all over the place. They ran to the Africans, they were there to kill,” Philippe, the security guard at the reception center.

Apparently, while the blows were being exchanged between the Chechens and Africans, Philippe and his colleagues attempted to hide one the men who the intruders had been looking for, French regional newspaper L’Est Éclair reports.

As the Chechens were leaving the facility, one of them stopped and struck Philippe over the head with an iron bar, injuring him seriously but not causing him to lose consciousness.

“He told me that I should be on their side and not on that of the Africans,” Philippe recounted.

Shortly after, gendarmes arrived and the situation’s intensity began to subside. At the end of the ordeal, four victims were identified: two security guards and two African residents who had been living at the facility. Only three of the Chechen home invaders were arrested while the rest managed to flee the scene before police arrived.

Since the attack, the reception center has been emptied and the migrants have been relocated to another site which is regularly monitored by police. The investigation is ongoing.

SOME CORONAVIRUS STRAINS DEADLIER THAN OTHERS, CHINESE STUDY FINDS
Inkstone news, Apr 21, 2020
By Stephen Chen

New research suggests the virus mutates far more rapidly than previously thought, and there is a high degree of difference in how contagious and deadly some strands are compared with others.
A new study by one of China’s top scientists has found the ability of the new coronavirus to mutate has been vastly underestimated, and different strains may account for different impacts of the disease in various parts of the world.

Professor Li Lanjuan and her colleagues from Zhejiang University found many mutations not previously reported within a small pool of patients.

They also confirmed, for the first time using laboratory evidence, that certain mutations could create strains of the coronavirus, officially Sars-CoV-2, deadlier than others.

“Sars-CoV-2 has acquired mutations capable of substantially changing its pathogenicity,” Li and her collaborators wrote in a paper released on preprint service medRxiv.org on Sunday.
The paper has not been peer-reviewed.

Li’s study provided the first hard evidence that mutation could affect how severely the virus caused disease or damage in its host.
Li took an unusual approach to investigate the virus mutation. She analyzed the viral strains isolated from 11 randomly chosen Covid-19 patients from Hangzhou in the eastern province of Zhejiang, and then tested how efficiently they could infect and kill cells.

The deadliest mutations in the Zhejiang patients had also been found in most patients across Europe, while the milder strains were the predominant varieties found in parts of the United States, such as Washington state, according to their paper.

A separate study had found that New York strains had been imported from Europe. The death rate in New York was similar to that in many European countries, if not worse.

But the weaker mutation did not mean a lower risk for everybody, according to Li’s study. In Zhejiang, two patients in their 30s and 50s who contracted the weaker strain became severely ill. Although both survived in the end, the elder patient needed treatment in an intensive care unit.

This finding could shed light on differences in regional mortality. The pandemic’s infection and death rates vary from one country to another, and many explanations have been proposed.

Genetic scientists had noticed that the dominant strains in different geographic regions were inherently different. Some researchers suspected the varying mortality rates could, in part, be caused by mutations but they had no direct proof.

The issue was further complicated because survival rates depended on many factors, such as age, underlying health conditions or even blood type.

In hospitals, Covid-19 has been treated as one disease and patients have received the same treatment regardless of the strain they have. Li and her colleagues suggested that defining mutations in a region might determine actions to fight the virus.

“Drug and vaccine development, while urgent, need to take the impact of these accumulating mutations … into account to avoid potential pitfalls,” they said.

The sample size in this most recent study was remarkably small. Other studies tracking the virus mutation usually involved hundreds, or even thousands, of strains.

Li’s team detected more than 30 mutations. Among them 19 mutations – or about 60% – were new.

They found some of these mutations could lead to functional changes in the virus’s spike protein, a unique structure over the viral envelope enabling the coronavirus to bind with human cells.

Computer simulation predicted that these mutations would increase its infectivity.

To verify the theory, Li and colleagues infected cells with strains carrying different mutations. The most aggressive strains could generate 270 times as much viral load as the weakest type. These strains also killed the cells the fastest.

It was an unexpected result from fewer than a dozen patients, “indicating that the true diversity of the viral strains is still largely underappreciated,” Li wrote in the paper.

The coronavirus changes at an average speed of about one mutation per month. By Monday, more than 10,000 strains had been sequenced by scientists around the globe, containing more than 4,300 mutations, according to the China National Center for Bioinformation.

Most of these samples, though, were sequenced by a standard approach that could generate a result quickly. The genes were read just once, for instance, and there was room for mistakes.

Li’s team used a more sophisticated method known as ultra-deep sequencing. Each building block of the virus genome was read more than 100 times, allowing the researchers to see changes that could have been overlooked by the conventional approach.

Professor Zhang Xuegong, head of the bioinformatics division at the National Laboratory for Information Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, said ultra-deep sequencing could be an effective strategy to track the virus’s mutation.

“It can produce some useful information,” he said.
But this approach could be much more time consuming and costly. It was unlikely to be applied to all samples.

“Our understanding of the virus remains quite shallow,” Zhang said.
Questions such as where the virus came from, why it could kill some healthy young people while generating no detectable symptoms in many others still left scientists scratching their heads.

“If there is a discovery that overturns the prevailing perception, don’t be surprised,” said Zhang.

In stead they protest or react to trivial issues such as phone theft (though I don't justify stealing) and gay sex (which originally doesn't harm them in anyway). They even insult countries like Canada indulging in this (even though such nations are the ones feeding them with all sorts of aids). The future will be bleak for our children and grandchildren should Nigeria not join the technology revolution. The world will certainly not wait for Nigeria! Because of lack of electricity the door to being part of modernity is closing fast, and if nothing is done to electrify the country, it will be firmly shut. Then Nigerian youths and children will be in outer technology darkness. It is already happening, but Nigeria will also become increasingly inconsequential and irrelevant in global decision-making and thus in international affairs...."

U.S. ISOLATES DETAINED IMMIGRANTS FROM MAJORITY-BLACK COUNTRIES AT HIGH RATE, STUDY FINDS
SOLITARY VOICES, INTERNATIONAL CONSORTIUM OF INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISTS (ICIJ)
By Spencer Woodman
/ April 21, 2020

U.S. immigration authorities locked detainees from African and Caribbean countries in solitary confinement cells six times as often as the population at large, a new study finds.

U.S. immigration authorities locked detainees from African and Caribbean countries in solitary confinement cells six times as often as the population at large, a new study finds.

Detainees from these predominantly black countries made up just 4% of detainees in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody from 2012 to 2017 — but 24% of all solitary confinement stays, the forthcoming report from researchers at the University of California concludes.
The disparity is due in part to ICE personnel using solitary confinement as a tool to discipline detainees from Africa and the Caribbean much more often than for people from other countries. The stark racial difference, the authors say, parallels the most painful inequities of America’s criminal justice system.

“The treatment of black immigrants in detention mirrors that of black individuals in jails and prisons,” said Keramet Reiter, an associate professor at University of California, Irvine, and a co-author of the study.

How US immigration authorities use solitary confinement
The new findings are based on analysis of records contained in trove of incident reports that describe the placement of thousands of detainees in solitary confinement. The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists shared the reports with the researchers while reporting Solitary Voices, an investigation that found ICE routinely segregates troublesome detainees, including the mentally ill, in small isolation cells for weeks and months at a time.

Confinement for 22 hours a day or more in a small cell without meaningful social contact can lead to lasting mental trauma and trigger suicidal impulses, and should be used sparingly or not at all, experts say.

Some detainees are placed in solitary confinement for their own protection, or to protect others. But much of the time, isolation is punishment for a disciplinary infraction, such as fighting, possessing contraband or horseplay, ICIJ found.

ICE did not immediately respond to questions about the finding of racial disparities in its isolation practices. The agency previously defended its use of solitary confinement in response to ICIJ findings, saying its use of the practice falls below rates in prison systems around the U.S.

The authors of the new study note that racial inequities in ICE detention mirror those of America’s prison system. But immigration detention can in some cases act even more punitively. As state prison systems have moved to outlaw the use of solitary confinement as punishment for violating facility rules, ICE has continued the practice nationwide.

ICE is 22% more likely to record a disciplinary infraction as the reason for placing a person from an African nation in solitary confinement as compared to other detained people, the researchers said.

A detainee’s country of origin can also act as a predictor of the length of time they are likely to spend locked in an isolation cell. Detainees from the Middle East spent five days longer as compared with ICE’s overall population, University of California researchers determined.
The study’s authors say that more examination is needed to understand why racial disparities in ICE’s use of solitary confinement exist, but point to several possibilities. In addition to racist attitudes commonplace in the United States, language barriers may hinder communication between guards at ICE facilities, who often speak Spanish, and non-Spanish-speaking detainees.

Researchers and advocates around the country have offered their own anecdotal accounts of ICE disproportionately punishing detainees of certain races.
“It appears that dark skinned individuals are more quickly and readily disciplined with long periods of solitary than their lighter skinned counterparts,” said Nathan Craig, an assistant professor of anthropology at New Mexico State University who is not affiliated with the University of California study.

Craig points to language barriers as one factor. “While South Asians are chided and demeaned by staff for not speaking English, we have numerous accounts of staff discriminating against Anglophone or Francophone Africans who do not speak Spanish,” Craig said. “In some cases, guards will only speak to Africans in Spanish. Communication issues are often at the heart of disciplinary use of solitary confinement.”

In interviews with ICIJ, detainees from India’s Punjab region, who could speak neither English nor Spanish, described being the subjects of scorn from ICE guards with whom they struggled to communicate.

Across the agency’s many facilities, ICE used solitary confinement with little predictability and wide variance, the study found, echoing a finding of ICIJ’s Solitary Voices. The resulting decisions on who gets placed in solitary confinement “are at best, inconsistent, and, at worst, arbitrary and, possibly, dangerous,” the study states.

Solitary Voices included reporting by Grupo SIN in the Dominican Republic, Plaza Pública in Guatemala; Mexicanos contra la Corrupción in Mexico; and NBC News, The Intercept and Univision in the U.S.

==============================================================================

REASONS WESTERN POWERS ARE FRIGHTENED OF AREWA REFUGEES
Western powers and Nigerians know 3 things are keeping Arewa alive:
1) AREWA MONOPOLY ON BEEF*
2) AREWA CONTROL OF NIGER DELTA CRUDE OIL
3) AREWA CONTROL OF MILITARY

If the South and Middle Belt get rid of these 3 things, then FREEDOM is ours.

SEPARATION FROM AREWA is our only solution. Nothing else will now be effective.

We want our own Odudua, Biafra etc, that is good. But our common problem RIGHT NOW is Arewa. Let’s do things in the correct order so that success is not only much easier, but is also much guaranteed.

Step 1 – SEPARATION FROM AREWA

Step 2 – MB, SW, SS and SE together decide what arrangement we want. For example Split up? Or Confederation? Or something else?

The focus right now should be Step 1 – SEPARATION FROM AREWA.

NOTE: Western powers are frightened because Arewa are a problem to indigenous people of Nigeria. To them, if SEPARATION FROM AREWA happens they know Arewa cannot survive without being a parasite on indigenous people, so Arewa will become refugees throughout Africa seeking who will feed them and support them, because they don’t want to work. These millions of hungry Arewa will destabilise every country they go to. France will not like it because Francophone countries like Rep. of Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, etc will not be able to host Arewa refugees unless France gives money. Portugal too will not like to fund Arewa. And neither will Britain.

This is why Western powers want the country to remain One Nigeria so that South and MB can feed Arewa. This is of course not fair, but Europe is trying to save its own self from the burden of Arewa! If South and MB continue to fund Arewa we will not progress. Our money and time will be spent on keeping lazy Arewa alive. SEPARATION FROM AREWA is our only way to have freedom to develop.

Our choice is either to keep on feeding Arewa and never develop. Or SEPARATION FROM AREWA. (Let the West feed Arewa and give us a break. We have been feeding Arewa since 1914!)

Know this: our children will bear the consequences of our choice. It will be more parasitic enslavement, or freedom to progress and be productive.
After Step 1 – SEPARATION FROM AREWA, then a free MB, SW, SS and SE can go on to consider Step 2.

By the way:
*Monopoly on beef – The South give Arewa this power over the country by eating and trading in Arewa cattle. Boycott of beef will remove this Arewa power over us.

SEPARATION FROM AREWA is the solution. We can do it! We just need to care enough about our children’s future. We have lawyers, social scientists, political scientists, historians, professors and many intelligent people among us to light our way. Each of us should THINK and develop ways for us of South and MB to organise ourselves together for such an urgent and necessary task.
Just beware of the traitors within our people who for personal gain help Arewa because their children are in China or Europe or USA or Canada.

Please circulate to all South and Middle Belt people all over the world.

Funny as it is, unfortunately that is the sad truth; But it is deliberate. D Politicians knows what they are doing, keep the people poor and make them look for food continually, with that they will not ask for good governance. Of course who will ask for quality education, good health care system, constant power, standard road network when he is hungry..........He will ask for food as priority. Reason why the North with all the years in power is still the poverty capital of the world.

Another sad truth l have come to notice is that the politicians(Apc, Pdp, apga, etc) are united in stealing our resources and keep the people in poverty while the people are divided in defending them, fighting for them and even killing for them, Shame.

The politicians (Apc, Pdp, apga, upp, youth party etc) are not interested in developing this country, the power to grow and develop this country lies in our hands (The Citizens) and if you are serious for this joke of a country to develop you should be calling for a total review of the system, not 2023 election, not presidency being zoned to a particular area. Only when the system is reviewed and restructured for deliberate growth and development are we going to progress as a nation. With this current structure, even if you bring European, American and Arab leaders to come and run this country they will fail. The country is structured to fail. Since 1960, No light, no water, no standard road, unemployment, poor health facility, insecurity; Don't deceive yourself that is the design.

When election comes Politicians buy you food and promise you Heaven on Earth because they know you are hungry, they know they are not going there to make any change, They re going to steal because the system has been designed to make it very easy for them to steal. So goes the cycle on and on and on. Nigerian Youths wise up and rise up to save this country. Stay safe and safe life.
Hello my friend. It does not look as if you have understood the article.

Oyeebo do not put food first place like Nigerians do yet they eat better, healthier and cleaner food.

As for COVID19, it is not food that will save but EDUCATION about hygiene. No point giving food when people spit everywhere and on the street. That will kill them even if you feed them 3X a day.

OPINION: NIGERIAN VALUES – FOOD FOR THOUGHT
By Ndidi Uwechue, 14th April 2020
African News Today

Life seems to be much about FOOD in Nigeria. There is regular talk about how to get food for oneself or for the children. People worry about not getting “three square meals” a day. Nigerians talk about the “national cake”. Young women look for a man to marry who can put food on the table. There is a great sense of satisfaction when food has been obtained or eaten. A good day is a day when food has been eaten.

Taking it further, politicians use food to either bribe people for votes, or to keep aggrieved citizens quiet. “Just give them food and it will all be ok”. Moreover, when a group is agitating for some kind of civil or human rights, we hear things said such as, “They must be hungry”. The rights or issues being addressed are disregarded, sadly, even by the public who would have benefited from the improvement sought. Society it seems, has equated living well with eating well (having a full stomach, and not necessarily eating a balanced diet). A well-fed person would see no need to go out and join a protest since he/she has food to eat (thus is living well), so let those who are hungry (therefore not living well) go out and protest. Giving support to a good cause does not come into it!

Thinking about the place that food occupies in Nigeria, I wondered: has FOOD been given too HIGH a priority? So please come with me on this food question journey. We see a woman stripping the husks off corn and throwing these discards on the ground, adding to all the litter already present there before unwashed, she places the cobs on a metal grill to roast them. Plenty of customers eagerly buy the roast corn, oblivious to the filth all around and the unhygienic preparation of the corn, they just see FOOD. Again, we have those outdoor shacks called bukas selling food in a filthy environment but people ignore that because the focus is on FOOD.

Here is a description of how life can be in a malgoverned country and where FOOD is given a very high priority, possibly even top position:
• Roads are bad with potholes everywhere. People complain but do nothing effective to improve the situation. They do not need to, they have FOOD for today.
• Public schools are in a dilapidated state with no toilets for the children. People complain but will accept this for their children, they have FOOD for today.
• Hospitals lack equipment and are in a disgraceful state. People complain but tolerate it as their lot in life in this part of the world, they have FOOD for today.
• Electricity is lacking, businesses are struggling or shutting down. People complain but will hope that somehow they will succeed, they have FOOD for today.
• Religion is plentiful, but there is lack in everything else. People tell themselves that they are “blessed”, they have FOOD for today.

Naturally, every living thing needs food. We see chickens and goats daily seeking nothing but FOOD. Food is their life’s priority. These animals forage in litter-strewn shrubs, on rubbish heaps, inside gutters – anywhere to find food. What do animals know or care about hygiene and environmental cleanliness! Food is all they want in life. Animals we can say, live to eat. But humans are not supposed to be so. Humans are expected to eat in order to maintain life, so food is important, but should not be given overarching importance.

If instead that same malgoverned nation had something else, for instance EDUCATION, not food as a top priority, then this is what could be: Politicians would offer citizens food as a bribe for votes. The citizens would accept the food, but reply: We will not vote for you until our schools look exactly like schools in Britain, with properly equipped science laboratories, functioning toilets, clean canteens, well-stocked school libraries etc. And the same goes for our Polytechnics and Universities. They too must be like those in Britain. This would mean constant electricity in our homes too because our children must be able to do homework and coursework when they are home after school and during the holidays.

Thus, simply by Nigerians shifting the main focus off food and onto EDUCATION, would mentally energise citizens to put our all into ensuring a better life and lifestyle for our children and young people. People would no longer be satisfied with just having FOOD every day. Now, EDUCATION every day would be the target.
Rather than hearing traders, workers, and parents saying: I need money for my children’s food. We would hear them say: I need money to buy my children books, or a chemistry set, or a science kit, or a computer, or internet data.
An added bonus if EDUCATION were to be noticeably prioritised is that the loud habitual environmental noises would diminish because parents would then become interested in ensuring that a quiet and conducive environment for learning is made possible for their children.

Returning to our street food discourse. If EDUCATION was given a higher priority than food, the impact is that citizens would become INFORMED CONSUMERS seeking then using relevant (scientific) knowledge. People would insist on eating clean, nutritious food in a tidy environment. So food sellers would be obliged to sell their fare while also maintaining hygiene and clean surroundings, rather than what we find in Nigeria today.

Many things afflict Nigeria therefore some people are fleeing the country for a better life abroad. However, for some the response to Nigeria’s challenges is to keep on identifying the things that hinder progress, and to be part of an Alternative Culture where the thinking and thus the behaviour are different. Clearly FOOD has been overvalued by Nigerians. We should now decide what rational value to give food. Should we live to eat? Or should we eat to live?

Nigeria is not one country, has never been one country and can never be one country. Crude Oil and the Army are what hold the people together. Remove these two and a dozen nations will emerge from here.
Activities of the Federal Government officials appointed to provide palliatives for citizens under the threat of the coronavirus pandemic has shown up once again the crass bigotry and ethnic chicanery that rules Nigeria.

Before the pandemic, it was the sovereign loan of about $28 billion applied for by the Federal Government and approved by the Senate of the republic where the entire South East was left out, without a dollar of investment to it's name.
Again and again it has been proven that the Buhari Government cannot advance beyond it’s ethnic rampart and that the Fulani will drive it’s ethnic agenda to it’s final death by instalments. They give the lie to Nigeria’s assumed nationhood and sense of destiny as one entity.

Since it’s inception, Muhammadu Buhari's Government has demonstrated beyond anyone’s doubt that the North is in Nigeria to look out for its people only and that it’s politicians and publicans see Nigeria only in the prism of satisfying the needs of Northern Muslims. For those who refuse to uphold this truth, a rude awakening awaits at the looming cataclysmic end.

Any time Northern bureaucrats and apparatchiks unleash their ethnic pettiness on the rest of the country, laughing to the banks in personal and group triumph, they believe that they’ve won another political victory against the South, but since the seventies when I started watching these games go on, the South continues to grow faster and ahead of the North and have become economically stronger and more progressive in all areas of development, far superseding the North in every development index.

The notion and belief by the North that it does not have to earn it’s development, that it can always browbeat the South to force concessions and remain dominant in political influence to gain advantages, has become the major falsity that the North must contend with on the day of the apocalypse to come. That day, the freebies from the South will dry up and the North will be forced to work for it’s own upkeep and an unprecedented social dissonance and upheaval will result.

Ethnic entitlements cannot develop a people.
In 1977, Northern students, instigated by New Nigeria Newspapers, the establishment newspaper of Northern Nigeria back then, rioted across northern higher institutions against what they termed gross injustice in University admissions. Prior to that, each of the six Nigerian universities at the time, admitted students on their own terms and through their “Concessional” entrance examinations.
New Nigeria published University admission figures from the six universities to show that the then Bendel State had double the number of University admissions from the state than the eleven states of Northern Nigeria combined.
The resulting protests by Northern students provided the backcloth for the formation of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to infuse the quota system into University admissions in Nigeria.

Last year in 2019 when I checked, Delta State, one of the two states from the old Bendel State, had a higher admission figure than all the Northern states put together. C’est change…… What has quota system availed the North in more than forty years of JAMB?

The Northern elite are not making “progress” at the expense of Southern Nigeria for the simple reason that progress is neither purchased nor is it a product of evil mischief. Progress is earned. Northern Nigeria is not making progress, no matter how many irrigation systems or bridges built or how many people in the Sahel North get Coronavirus pandemic bonuses against non in the South.

Railway Systems soon go dead without maintenance. Non of these can be run or maintained by Northern indigenous technology or enterprise or management capability. Their inability to build a technocratic workforce means that they can never own or sustain those technologies and investments.

The North is a leach with its proboscis sunk deep into the jugular of Southern Nigeria. With every opportunity and excuse, the North thrusts it’s sucking claws deeper into the economy of Southern Nigeria. As a result of its total dependence on the life blood of the South, it is now unable to survive by itself and provide for any of its needs. Like the true parasite, it will die if priced out of its host.

Northern Nigeria became a leach and a bully with a gun held to the head of Southern Nigeria. So the North is not just a parasite, it is also a deadly virus at the same. It lives off the South as a parasite and is ready to kill the South at the least sign of life, as a virus.

It became the goal of Northern politicians to stop the South from hosting or acquiring the accoutrements of military resistance and warfare. Just as the Muslim Turks did to the Armenians and are now doing to the Kurds, the survival of the North depends on the demilitarization of Southern Nigeria.

The North has played it’s survival politics so well and used it’s dominance of Government to ensure that Southern Nigeria remains unarmed and without a means of defense. It made sure that after the Civil War, it denuded Southern Nigeria of all munitions of defense.
While we lament, we have to ask: Where have the Southern politicians been all the while these Northern politicians have been grabbing power for themselves and their region?

Southern politicians are the quintessential self effacing chameleons in a retrograde forest. They change colours and blend into whatever environment they find themselves. Because of their inherent need for self abnegation, they remain subject to and victims of their environment, unable to rise to the position for self iteration or assertion.
They have no ambitions for their people, no vision and no speed. Their inherent capacity to self abnegate and blend into the flora of the moment means that the environment must define whoever and whatever they choose to be, they are ordinary chameleons foraging for food from leftovers. Nothing more.
They threaten no one. Their only skill is to blend into the environment and lose their self identity, in order to be left alone to forage for rotten leaves and leftovers.

The Southern politician is focused on the money, on personal gain and on what he takes home to flaunt among his people. The Northern politician on the other hand, is focused on power, on ethnic and group interests and using the power to achieve group political and economic control.
The Southern politician hardly has a national outlook but wants to be the biggest Igbo politician, bigger than Azikiwe or the most successful and richest Yoruba politician, bigger than Awolowo. He is in competition with his own, living or dead.

The Fulani sees Nigeria as a political unit and looks for the best position in the unit to fix his claws and his suction pipe. He is not in competition with his fellow Fulani but works in cooperation with him to achieve political supremacy for the benefit of the whole group.
Because the Southern politician works alone for personal rather than group interests, it does not take much to defeat his purpose and ambition because, again, his ambition was never founded on belief and galvanizing vision. So he is shoved aside as soon as he arrives on the national stage. He is alone, after all.

But in order to shove Fulani aside, you have to contend with the entire Fulani who share in his group interests and stand to benefit from his ethnic galvanizing ambition. Competition in the South is individual.
This is why the Southern politician surrounds himself with nincompoops, his useful idiots, those who cannot have the mental capacity to draw out his insecurities and selfish ambition. He feels threatened by the smart ones from among his people.
The Northerners compete as a group, presenting a United front and easily defeating the individual rival from the South. This is why a Bola Tinubu or Rotimi Amaechi cannot compete in national politics with a Buhari or even a Rufa'i.

These are alone pursuing personal agenda and contending with implacable and debilitating rivalries from home. They become mere candles in the wind of Nigerian national politics.
They can succeed in becoming local champions. They can never be national champions because they rise by suppressing all dissent at home and betraying every rival. They are all alone at the national stage without the consensual backing of their smart people. The intense enmity at home provided the inertia that makes national acceptance impossible.

Because the Northern politician and his brother military denizen have succeeded in moving all military installations to the North, it gives the Southern politician a convenient alibi to live the life of a chameleon, in self abnegation and measured cowardice. So he proceeds to Government with a defeated mind ready to negotiate and concede even his own peoples need for group ambition in a federal arrangement.

But like all parasites, the North is so weak that it cannot survive without it’s host, Southern Nigeria. Take Northern Nigeria off the suction pipe to Southern Nigeria’s economy, it will suffer atrophy and die in no time. This is true of every parasites and true also for Northern Nigeria.
In the distribution of relief materials across the country, what emerges is a shameless Buhari Government recognizing and reinforcing the general belief in the helplessness and inherent poverty of Northern Nigeria and its total dependence on handouts from the Government for survival.

Coronavirus becomes another excuse to unleash a new episode of an ingrained and clannish predilection to feed the North from the wealth of the South.
It’s not for nothing that all of 75% of the relief handouts went to Northern Nigeria and a mere quarter was payed out in Southern Nigeria. Now here are the payment allocations as published by the agency directly making the payments.
FG Relief Cash Transfer - Zone by Zone
1) North West -- N112.7Billion
2) North Central -- N88.1Billion
3) North East -- N44.4Billion
4) South West -- N39.1Billion
5) South South -- N10.4B
6) South East -- N3.3B

What does this information tell the world, other than to show the diabolical clannishness of those handling the operations?
It tells the world above all else, of a population of a hundred and more millions of people dominant in the expanse of the Sahel Savannah belt of Northern Nigeria, who one and all, are totally dependent on others for food and other needs for basic sustenance.

So when you read in the Vanguard Newspaper recently, one of them writing that the North is the food basket of Nigeria, you ask, what food and where is the basket? You are the food basket of the South from whose ports, farms and storehouses you are loading up thousands of trucks to feed your people at no cost to them or your region? Has any Southerner ever been “allocated” Northern food for free?

Do not bet on the world not knowing the anomaly of the Nigerian situation. The world’s knowledge of this anomaly is the reason why it insists that Nigeria be continually glued together as a nation, for good or for worse. It is convenient now for the world to abandon Southern Nigeria to carry the burden of a hundred million indolent population, even as it gasps for breath.
When the overburdened ox throws down the weight in revolt, the world will notice as the Sub Saharan Africa gets flooded in their cities and nations with refugees.

The world fears for the unleashing of fifty million refugees on the rest countries of sub-Saharan Africa and the humanitarian crisis that will result, the like of which will overwhelm the entire continent of Africa. The present level of hunger and poverty in the Sahel Northern Nigeria puts the region in worse position today than Yemen, Kashmir, or South Sudan, countries devastated by years of warfare.

Now, you imagine two million refugees added to the population of Ghana, two million to Cameroun and one million each to the population of forty-six other African countries, you'll then know the problems the world would face with a real Civil Strife in Nigeria.
The world is not helping in any way to enforce the sociopolitical Justice that would help keep Nigeria peaceable and glued together. The North has made itself to believe that it can get away with any act of aggression against Southern Nigeria at no cost to itself.
It has been allowed to keep all the instruments of warfare to menace the South and also allowed to purloin the sustaining structures of the economy to the sorry point where the North now believes in it’s false invincibility against any Southern reaction.

The seeds of a cataclysmic warfare are being planted everyday but the world, particularly paternalistic Britain, looks the other way, leaving the South to carry the burden of a lumpen population and a thoughtless comprador elite hooked on free loading from Southern Nigeria.
There must be a bottom to political and social endurance and Southern Nigeria is fast approaching that bottom.

Nobody will die for lack of coronavirus palliatives in Southern Nigeria, that we are sure. But for those who need palliatives to survive as humans, it is to them we send our sympathy. For one day the feeding bottle will dry up. When it does, where will the people who need palliatives turn? Where will the pampered horde turn to for free food? @basilokoh.

Since when did "OPINION" amount to "RACISM"?
Please my friend. Bring forth a solution to the reality of racism. That is what we need.
