This past week I have read at least 2 articles plus today this WhatsApp post linking Nigerians/or Africans to being MENTALLY RETARDED. We Nigerians know it is just NOT possible for an intelligent species to create a country as disorganized and corrupt as Nigeria that we see. We can of course from ego and pride keep shouting that we are intelligent. Ok. But where is the evidence for that? Doing great in Oyeebo country is no sign of intelligence because it's Oyeebo who organized their countries and moreover Oyeebo themselves do well in their own Oyeebo country. I am not insulting us here. I want us to stop lying about what we are and to change our orientation. At least if we even love our children and care enough about their future we should do so. The message below from WhatsApp put the source of the post as from the Nigerian Timekeepers Facebook page. I have been checking it out for the last one hour or so and it's good. In fact, I think I have received some of their posts before by WhatsApp. ====================================================================== ARE AFRICANS RETARDED? Foreigners keep on saying that Africans are RETARDED. RETARDED means “delayed or held back in terms of progress or development”. They are saying the truth. Africa IS delayed and late to develop! We see that many Africans prefer the RETARDED way of being. They prefer being late than keeping to correct time. Is that not RETARDED? It’s a new century now. We want a future that is different from our past. We can do it with discipline and consideration for our fellow African. One key way is through good time keeping. So change yourself: value others, value doing the right thing, and become a Nigerian Timekeeper! Nigerian Timekeepers https://web.facebook.com/NigerianTimekeepers/

Fr. George Ehusani The Arise TV Interview 28 June 2019 NOTE: This is a part-transcription and summary of what Rev. Fr George Ehusani said. Nigerians should prepare for the social upheaval that will be caused by deepening poverty. “…I have constantly said in this country until Nigerians get to a stage to say: No, you can’t be Minister of Power if it is a generator that is powering your own house and you have not provided a generator for every other person. You cannot be Minister of Housing if you’re not staying in a government apartment. You cannot be Minister of Health if you do not have your own treatment in this country. You cannot be Minister of Education if your children are all schooling outside. You can’t. Why? Because human beings have self-interest. There is what is called self-interest. If his children are going to go to the government secondary school, he will make sure that government secondary schools are well taken care of. If his family are going to go to the general hospital next door, he will make sure that the general hospital too is well taken care of. But as long as leaders do not share in the plight of the people, as long as leaders can fly to the US, to UK, to Dubai for their healthcare and condemn the people to this kind of conditions. As long as that is the situation we’re not moving anywhere. So Nigerians will have to rise up and say: No! You can’t be our Minister for Education because your children are not schooling here. “…It is said if we do not change our ways, if we do not change our course we end up where we are heading. And where we are headed is not where we would like to be… A people that have organised, or disorganised themselves for this quality of life cannot have a wholesome future… The kind of society we have organised, the children of our elite – economic elite, political elite, military elite – cannot come back to this country and walk safe in the streets of this country. It’s not possible. Because the kind of society that their parents have organised is not the kind of society that they will like to live in. “…So what kind of legacy have the political elite, the economic elite, the social elite – what kind of legacy have they left?... What we require today is some powerful gesture of Repentance from successive members of the elite, of leadership… We need powerful gestures of Repentance meaning that those who have been looting the resources of this country, it is not enough to stop looting. They must return a lot of what they have looted, invest it in programmes for the poor: Health programmes, Education programmes, Sanitation programmes, Nutritional programmes. So that the people can see that there is some gesture that we can recognize that he has participated in ruining this country… Otherwise it’s the revenge of the poor. The people will revolt. You don’t need to be a soothsayer to see it happening” Rev Fr Ehusani went on to say that Nigerians have tolerated their impoverishment for so long because of culture, religious and ethnic differences that the elite have exploited. But one day the poor will unite when they recognize who their enemies are. The revenge of the poor is around the corner. Where we are heading now is unfortunately a violent revolution if the leadership doesn’t change. Rev Fr Ehusani explained that it is just not about leaders at national level, ie presidents, governors, senators and representatives, but also about those of us who are PRIVILEGED. Are we concerned about the poor around us? Or about our domestic staff? We segregate ourselves with a type of Apartheid according to our economic status. Many of us are proud of the area we live in for it boasts our financial standing. This (unfortunate) segregation is helpful for the revolution when it comes because it makes it easy for the poor to know where to go. He admonished the elite by saying that if you think you are entitled to rich living with SUVs, bullet-proof cars etc when there is no rail or public transport for the poor then have a good rethink. If you feel justified, have no conscience, and think you have a right to be a multi-millionaire, and you think you are smart to gather the resources of society, accumulating them, and leaving the people destitute, then rethink properly and repent. And make restitution. Rev Fr Ehusani concluded by appealing to those Nigerians who still have a sense of humanity who want a good future for their children and grandchildren to join him in shouting against corruption and gross mismanagement. Restitution is what is needed nationally, because what will save Nigerians is that the poor should also be included at the dining table. This poster trending on WhatsApp says it all! Indigenous Nigerians, elections are RIGGED by Fulani as was done before Independence so NO POINT thinking elections in 2023 is a solution. DE-AMALGAMATION by either proper Confederation or Split Up is the answer. We are the indigenous people but greed for cow meat has made us like Esau, to sell our birthright. But we CAN take it back. There are various ideas out there that we can improve on and act upon. Example: WE MUST HAVE A COMPLETELY NEW CONSTITUTION before any talk of (rigged up) 2023 elections. Ex-Emir Sanusi is NOT the man for indigenous people at any time and anywhere. So my brothers of South and Middle Belt shine your eyes ooo and beware supporting a non-indigenous pretender.

From a WhatsApp post: ================================================================================= CORONAVIRUS AND HYGIENE (Adapted from Christianity for Africans Facebook page) Coronavirus may well be here to stay. We do NOT know yet but it could be somewhat like the Flu (Influenza) virus which you will get once every year or every two years, then recover to get it again a year or so later. Coronavirus is spread by droplet infection. That means an infection is transmitted from one individual to another by droplets of moisture from the nose and mouth through sneezing or coughing. Beating Coronavirus is a group effort, a COMMUNITY effort. We should be concerned for the wellbeing of others, and we would not do what would endanger or hurt them. Here is some basic hygiene information: • STOP picking your nose • STOP touching your face • USE a tissue to blow your nose • USE a tissue to sneeze into • USE a tissue to cough phlegm into • USE a tissue to spit into It is very unfortunate that because of very high corruption we lack public toilets so there is much open urination and open defecation so NO HAND WASHING. We therefore urge Nigerians to find ways to lower the risks from their hands such as taking along small pieces of soap plus sachet water with them. Remember too to stop the handshake greeting and replace it with the Namaste greeting and Foot Tapping greeting. (Google for information) Teachers, lecturers and parents please inform children and young people. It is our responsibility to do this. The whole world is affected by Coronavirus and despite having poor governance, as individuals we can stand in solidarity with the rest of the world. - Ndidi Uwechue is on Facebook and Twitter |

CORONAVIRUS AND THE AFRICAN CHRISTIAN By Christianity for Africans Coronavirus may well be here to stay. We do NOT know yet but it could be somewhat like the Flu (Influenza) virus which you will get once every year or every two years, then recover to get it again a year or so later. Coronavirus is spread by droplet infection. That means an infection transmitted from one individual to another by droplets of moisture from the nose and mouth through sneezing or coughing. If we are truly a Christian with God’s Holy Spirit living within us to guide us, then we will be concerned for the wellbeing of others, and we would not do what would endanger or hurt them. African Christians should therefore be a hygienic people at all times, not just when there is FEAR of Coronavirus! • STOP picking your nose • STOP touching your face • USE a tissue to blow your nose • USE a tissue to sneeze into • USE a tissue to cough phlegm into • USE a tissue to spit into It is very unfortunate that because of very high corruption we lack public toilets so there is much open urination and open defecation so NO HAND WASHING. We therefore urge Christians to find ways to lower the risks from their hands such as taking along small pieces of soap plus sachet water with them. We also believe African Christians should use your church, family and work connections, time, energy and resources to fight for there to be public toilets for us all to use. Although it is not in the Bible, the saying that “Cleanliness is next to godliness” is implied in Scripture. We can see it to be true because when the Holy Spirit lives within an individual, that person becomes aware of his and others’ humanity, and of what is good or bad. That person is concerned about things that harm others and will stop them. That person will be sensitive to beauty, so choose to live in cleanliness and tidiness. Therefore, just as “Cleanliness is next to godliness”, another equally true saying is that “Filth follows ungodliness”. FILTH announces the presence of ungodly attitudes and behaviours. Filth and unhygienic practices attract disease. A true Christian is Light so will not be among those keep Africa in a filthy state. Coronavirus is here, so are many other diseases. African Christians should get involved in activities that are helpful to the community. We know that God watches our efforts and our lifestyles, and He will reward us according as we deserve. Amen. RuudVanNisteroy:Yes...ooo! Good idea. It will be like re-colonization and at last we would get good leadership. All this "Black is best" does not apply with Nigerians. One person I follow on social media made a good suggestion too. Let me find their poster and add it here for our information. This your idea plus the idea in the poster below will make Nigeria and other corrupt countries like DRC work.

NIGERIA AS THE INCINERATOR OF TALENTS- Tony Nnadi, March 7, 2020. While Nigeria hounds away it’s bests, the rest of the World snap up and utilize these bests. As the Buhari Administration gropes in the dark for clues on what to do about the Nigerian Economy that has been on free fall since 2015, the World Bank and other Global Institutions as well as many Advanced Countries of the World had been tapping into the Proven Ingenuity of one of the Global bests in the Economic and Financial spheres, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala of Nigeria. South Africa just named her in the Team of South Africa’s Economic Advisory Council while Buhari’s Nigeria is still casting mud all over the economic feats achieved by Nigeria under the watch of Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Nigeria’s Finance Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy during the Administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. Here is the link to the news item: http://bentelevision.com/south-african-president-appoints-…/ Now again, in the face of the Global Pandemonium about Coronavirus and as the US is Testing the Potential Remedy Developed by Nigeria’s Prof Maurice Iwu and his Team at Bioresources, (who were also central to the containment of Ebola), Nigeria is busy hounding and actually trying Prof Maurice Iwu in Court, for some self-evidently false and totally spurious “corruption” charge, manufactured by Abuja in the desperate bid to punish Prof Iwu whom they accused of being the Consultant to the PDP in the 2019 Presidential Elections that clearly lost by the APC. To compound matters, hoodlums had on Wednesday March 3, 2020 gone to vandalize the Okigwe Production and Research Facility of Prof Iwu’s Bioresources Ltd which is Leading the current global search for answers to Coronavirus pandemic. Right now, Production is halted at that Facility because the Electricity Mains are cut off and equipment vandalized even with a Police Post (donated by Bioresources) sitting directly in front of the Bioresources Facility there in Okigwe. Here is the link to the news item: https://kaftanpost.com/coronavirus-nigerian-research-insti…/ First is to point out that on the Map of Nigeria, these bests of Nigeria about whom CNN’s Fareed Zakaria presented some glowing statistics recently (though ill-motivated), including the two now under focus, all fall within the same small space in Nigeria’s extreme South whereas the hunters and hounders in Abuja are all from the opposite end on the same Map to Nigeria’s extreme North. Next is to remind all that a Nigeria that is the Bastion of Wickedness and Incinerator of Talents can only be bound for the ruins it is currently in and for the abyss and that the portions of the Toxic Nigeria from which these Talents are being Incinerated are already working out their future beyond the Defunct Federation of Nigeria currently under the hijack and stranglehold of a Murderous Caliphate. Africans and especially Nigerians are known in the world for human rituals (human sacrifice), and we export it in our Africa Magic and Nollywood films. This human rituals is all part of Nigerian political existence. Our politicians and civil servants do it. Doing human rituals is a big reason we are nowhere in this country. This blood covenant with the devil has been with us for long. For our children's sakes, please let us stop all this human rituals. Let us be light in this darkness. If you have a politician or high level civil servant in your family tell am to stop it. When more of us become WAHuSa (World Against Human Sacrifice) Activists this bloody ritual will end. Please broadcast. WAHuSa has Facebook page (and Twitter: @WAHuSa1) ========================================================================= BE A WAHuSa ACTIVIST It will cost you absolutely NOTHING to be a WAHuSa Activist. You will not have to attend any meetings. You can be a WAHuSa Activist in any part of the world. The WAHuSa Activist is horrified and outraged that Human Sacrifice is still happening, and rises up against this cruel and insane homicide. The WAHuSa Activist speaks out against Human Sacrifice and writes against it using social media etc. The WAHuSa Activist uses their job and influence to find ways to raise awareness globally about Human Sacrifice, so that it will STOP. nengibo:Racist? Me? Inferiority? Me? Ah ah! Where have I lied? When Oyeebo was in charge of Nigeria our lives and economy was good. Now Blacks are in charge and no light, no toilets, everything portor-portor. |
SangoOlukosoOba:My friend, how can you say it is trash when Naija peepu all want to go live in Oyeebo country where Oyeebo is in charge, for a good life? This is not time for Black pride oooo. It is time to think of what is best for us. We cannot all flee to Oyeebo's country. In Oyeebo country Oyeebo is in charge, right? So when we flee to Oyeebo country we are saying we want to live under Oyeebo rule! So rather than all of us flee to Oyeebo's land, let Oyeebo come rule us here. This is what I am asking. Look at the state of Nigeria. Does it not want to make you cry? |
misreal:We seem to be able to do well only where Oyeebo is in charge. Like in USA, Canada or UK etc. But look at Nigeria. Every day gets worse. If Oyeebo was here we'd have light, trains, tap water, proper schools and hospitals etc. My grandfather told me how UI was wonderful under Oyeebo when it started and was like University of London. If UK was still here UI would have been like Oxford attracting foreign students etc. Even South Africa is getting worse now Blacks are in charge. I don't know oooo. But I am wondering about this curse of Ham (Canaan) |
President Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe is handing land back to White farmers after 20 years of Blacks ruining the economy. The news of this is in the article below. We Blacks of Nigeria know what to do to save ourselves, our children and our economy - it is separation from Arewa by Confederation or Split up. But Blacks are unable to do the right thing. Our economy that was ok under Whites now after 60 years of "Independence" is in ruins. Black pride will not fix our economy. Separation from Arewa will. Giving Nigeria back to Whites will as well. Zimbabwe is between Black pride or saving their country by giving land back to Whites. It seems that the CURSE OF HAM is real because how else can we explain that for Blacks to enjoy life we must either go live where Whites rule, or Whites must rule us in Africa? So what will we do? Keep on suffering and our country dying? Or bring back Oyeebo? If Oyeebo is again in charge of Nigeria there will be no need for us to flee to their country any more! And those abroad will now be happy to return home. Think about it now. Should we start a movement to ask Oyeebo to re-colonize us? See Zimbabwe. ================================================================================= ZIMBABWE GIVES LAND BACK TO WHITE FARMERS AFTER WRECKING ECONOMY Godfrey Marawanyika and Antony Sguazzin , Bloomberg•March 13, 2020 Yahoo News Two decades after President Robert Mugabe wrecked Zimbabwe’s economy by urging black subsistence farmers to violently force white commercial farmers and their workers off their land, his successor has thrown in the towel. Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has proposed settling all outstanding claims against it by farmers by offering them land. “The object of the regulations is to provide for the disposal of land to persons entitled to compensation,” Land Minister Perence Shiri said in regulations published in the Government Gazette Friday. The seizures that began in 2000 were ratified by the government, which said they were needed to redress colonial imbalances. A vibrant agricultural industry that exported tobacco and roses and grew most of the food the nation needed collapsed. Periodic food shortages ensued, inflation became the world’s highest and the manufacturing industry was decimated. What was one of Africa’s richest countries became one of its poorest. Almost 4,500 white-owned properties and others protected under government-to-government agreements were affected by the program. The southern African nation this year budgeted about Z$380 million ($21 million) for compensation. Several farms that were protected under so-called Bilateral Investment Protection Agreements belonged to nations including the U.K., South Africa, Australia, the Netherlands and Denmark. ... the very short video here is so funnyI have already tried the Foot Tapping greeting with my wife. We love it! ================================================================== CORONAVIRUS DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE – SO LET’S REPLACE THE HANDSHAKE Goodbye handshake? Yes please! The Namaste greeting and the foot tapping greeting are better forms of saying hello not just because of Coronavirus, but also in countries where there's nose-picking, spitting out onto the ground, plus open defecation and urination – with no hand washing. These two forms of greeting reduce physical contact with others and so are more hygienic ways to salute. The Namaste greeting is for official or casual salutation, and has its origin in India. You bring your open palms in front of you together (like when clapping), and say: hello, or good morning, or good afternoon etc. Israel, and several other countries are now using the Namaste greeting. The foot tapping greeting is a fun one used with friends and loved ones. It started in China and can be called the “Wuhan shake” or even footshake. Videos of some friends in China greeting one another this way have gone viral on social media. The foot tapping greeting is done between two people who tap the inner right foot together. Then tap the inner left foot together. Be careful though that you don’t lose your balance while standing on one foot! (Link to video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeQXeRO6rJc. So there you have it. It’s goodbye to handshakes and hugs. Please teach children these (new) forms of greeting and spread the knowledge. We should all do as much as possible to lessen the spread of diseases, and keep our communities safer. SOURCE: https://web.facebook.com/ndidi.uwechue

NIGERIANS IN UNITED KINGDOM PROTEST IN FRONT OF HIGH COMMISSION, DEMAND CHARGES AGAINST SOWORE DROPPED, CALL FOR REFERENDUM BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK MAR 12, 2020 The group said, "It is fraudulent charges. They are not allowing Sowore to go and see his family. For several months now, Sowore has not set eyes on his family.” A group of Nigerians on Wednesday staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the Nigerian High Commission in London, United Kingdom, to make series of demands. The group, which frowned at the state of governance in Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari, said citizens had lost hope of a meaningful future under the current administration. The protesters went on to condemn the government for its baseless charges against rights activist and journalist, Omoyele Sowore, asking for the case to be immediately dropped. The group said, "It is fraudulent charges. They are not allowing Sowore to go and see his family. For several months now, Sowore has not set eyes on his family. "The case has again been postponed until April 1 and 2. Can you all see the charade behind this. "We are calling on the government to drop all charges against Sowore, Olawale Bakare (Mandate), Agba Jalingo. "The government has no solid evidence to pursue the cases against Sowore and others and instead of them to humbly drop them, they are wasting everybody’s time. "If indeed they had evidence, they won’t be seeking for adjournment, they will proceed with the case. "This is not just about Sowore as a person, it is about every Nigerian. Injustice against one, is injustice against all. There are a lot of people detained unjustly across Nigeria that we don’t know about. Nigeria today has become a lawless society and President Muhammadu Buhari is a disaster. "Nigeria has failed for everybody. There are killings everyday across the country. Nothing is working anymore. "But government keeps deceiving everybody and that is why we have embarked on this protest to let the world know what is actually going on in Nigeria. "We cannot prosper as a country when there is widespread injustice everywhere. "The same DSS officials that has failed to apprehend Boko Haram members are the ones chasing after and tormenting innocent citizens. This cannot continue. "WE ARE CALLING FOR A REFERENDUM so that people can express their thoughts about this contraption called Nigeria. "THIS COUNTRY IS NO LONGER WORKING, WE NEED TO GO OUR SEPARATE WAYS." NIGERIA AIMS TO SILENCE DISSENT WITH CHARGES AGAINST PROMINENT JOURNALIST, ADVOCATES SAY Voice of America (VOA) By Salem Solomon March 12, 2020 WASHINGTON - After months in prison and a prolonged legal fight, a prominent Nigerian journalist and activist is now facing charges of treason. Omoyele Sowore, founder of the news website Sahara Reporters, appeared before the High Court in Abuja Wednesday and was given a date for a hearing in April. He was initially arrested last August by Nigeria’s Department of State Services, the country’s counterintelligence and counterterror force. The arrest came after Sowore organized an event, Revolution Now, to protest corruption and allegedly unfair elections. He was released Dec. 5, rearrested the following day and released again Dec. 24, at the direction of Nigeria's attorney general. 'Spoken truth to power’ Sowore’s wife told VOA he is being punished for expressing dissent. "Yele is currently in the situation that he is in because he has spoken truth to power. So as a result, he has been charged with treason,” Opeyemi Sowore told VOA. She said Nigeria’s constitution protects freedom of assembly and peaceful protests, and she believes the charges against her husband are unfounded and intended to intimidate him and others who protest against the government. "No evidence has been produced to support the case of treason. Again, the case is based on the fact that he organized a peaceful protest, which is not illegal in Nigeria,” she said. “So others who actually attended the protest were charged with unlawful gathering, and many of them are free at the moment.” 'Delay tactic' The new charges come as Nigeria’s senate considers a controversial “Social Media Bill” that would criminalize spreading false information online and ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT TO BLOCK ACCESS TO SOCIAL MEDIA SITES SUCH AS WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK AND TWITTER. Wade McMullen, senior vice president of programs and legal strategy at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, a nonprofit advocacy group, said the Nigerian government is intentionally dragging out the legal process against Sowore. Initial charges of money laundering and cyberbullying that were brought against him have been dropped, and court dates have been postponed, leaving him in legal limbo. "What we're seeing now is an intentional delay tactic by the Nigerian government. Again and again, not to proceed with the case because they have no evidence — the charges are baseless and everybody knows that,” McMullen told VOA. He believes the objective is to intimidate and silence other dissenting voices in the country. "They're drawing out this prosecution to set an example and to silence other Nigerians who wish to gather around him and express their peaceful dissent in similar ways,” McMullen said. Meanwhile, Sowore’s wife and two children, who live in the U.S. and are U.S. citizens, wait desperately to be reunited with him. "It's hard. I have had to explain to them why their father was in prison. And second why their father can’t come home. My son has had nightmares,” Opeyemi Sowore told VOA. “And honestly it's just been really hard for them. The great thing is that children are resilient. And I pray that beyond this they are going to grow and live wonderful lives and be strong. But this has taken its toll on them. It’s taking its toll on our family.” SOURCE: https://www.voanews.com/press-freedom/nigeria-aims-silence-dissent-charges-against-prominent-journalist-advocates-say |
NIGERIA: BUHARI’S MULTIPLE HEADACHES The Africa Report Wednesday, 11 March 2020 11:43 The crash in oil prices and rising debt is worrying economic experts as to the future of Nigeria. President Buhari faces the third recession of his career as oil prices plunge and the rising debt profile worries Nigerians. A crash in global oil prices would push Nigeria towards a second recession in four years since the former head of state Muhammadu Buhari resumed office as the country’s president in 2015, analysts say. In the immediate term, they project a fall in oil prices will quicken depreciation of the Nigerian currency amid rising external debt. READ MORE How coronavirus and the global oil price war can impact Nigeria Brent crude fell to $30 at the weekend before it rallied this week, presenting an opportunity for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to cease defending the naira and allow more income for the government. Dr Nonso Obiliki, Director at Turgot Centre for Economics and Policy Research, told the Africa Report: “it is now a case of when not if. Of course, the currency has been overvalued for some time now and based on the trajectory was set for a difficult year anyway.” He concluded: “the reserves have been falling since the start of the year, so a devaluation was already on the cards, even before the oil price crash. The crash just brings the date closer.” The oil price plunge “will leave the CBN in an untenable position with regards to its naira defence policy,” said Ikemesit Effiong, Head of Research at SBM Intelligence. He added: “the breaking point for the government’s naira defence policy was last year and it has been plugging the hole in official spending with an aggressive debt programme.” “Governor Godwin Emefiele has said in the past that he would only consider a devaluation if foreign reserves fall below $30 billion. We think that the CBN will be compelled by the price war to devalue the naira in order to maintain a semblance of stability in the country’s foreign reserves. This will be accompanied by an interest rate cut to manage the pressure that is sure to ensue on the real sector and consumers.” Oil plunge will hurt Nigeria The West African nation and the continent’s largest oil producer said last week it was considering adjusting its 2020 budget as the fast-spreading deadly Coronavirus plunged crude price below Nigeria’s target in this year’s budget. “The current crude oil price of $53 a barrel is below the budget benchmark. So, what we are doing is studying the situation. We are committed to doing a midterm review,” said Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed, speaking in the nation’s capital. The latest oil plunge will hurt the Nigerian naira according to analysts at Aza, Africa’s largest non-bank currency broker by trading volume. According to analysts: “given Nigeria’s heavy reliance on oil as the major contributor to GDP, the reduction in oil demand is severely limiting the supply of dollars to the economy, resulting in illiquidity in the market and buying pressure on those dollars available.” They added: “as the Coronavirus continues to damage the global economy, we expect to see further weakening pressure on the naira in the coming days, and advise reduced exposure.” If oil prices continue to fall sharply, it will put “significant pressures on already limited government expenditure – reflected by the fact that around 50% of public revenue is currently spent on debt repayments,” according to analysts at Aza. “Recession is just a word” As oil prices plunged to $30 per barrel at the weekend, analysts predicted Nigeria could be heading towards another recession. According to Effiong: “in this depressed economic climate, for the reasons enumerated above, a recession is almost inevitable. For insolvent states unable to finance their significant recurrent expenditure commitments, another round of bailouts from the shrinking federal purse will be provided, just like in 2016.” He further explained: “this impending fiscal crisis risks being transmuted into a monetary crisis as government simultaneously tries to keep its constituencies happy while propping up the currency.” A recession will see a reduction in the purchasing power and living standards of Nigerians. “To put it simply, the combination of increased taxes and charges and a freeze in public sector pay and private wages has left Nigerians with little financial wiggle room. In cities like Lagos, increased commuting costs as a result of a ban on commercial motorcycle taxis and rickshaws have compounded a dire financial picture for most low and middle-income Nigerians. In an ideal economic setting, a recession is best fought through a rise in consumer spending. In Nigeria’s case, it is impossible to see that happening as none of the government’s policies — including the border closure and slamming a lid on imports — remotely addresses the burning question of stimulating consumption,” he continued. Country’s high debt profile problematic? Nigeria’s rising debt also presents a problem, analysts say. READ MORE: Nigeria dependence on oil revenue underlined by coronavirus The country’s debt profile rose by $22.7 billion (19.97bn euro) after the Senate granted Buhari’s foreign loan request. The loan would help Nigeria provide key infrastructure including agriculture, health, education, water supply as well as provide social safety net programmes, according to the president. While the granted loan approval divided the country along political lines, analysts see additional problems. “The problem with this oil price crash is that the government’s debt programme is contingent on repayments backed by oil sales, which are sure to plummet because of the excess crude flooding of the global oil market. Consequently, while the country’s debt profile will rise in the short term, it will increasingly become unsustainable,” said Effiong. He continued: “we are looking at a risk of future Nigerian administrations inheriting a high debt, low growth economic profile.” What comes with naira devaluation? A devaluation could trigger higher fuel and electricity prices, higher import prices, including for food, and more outward migration as foreign salaries look even more attractive, according to Obiliki, but “on the plus side, a devaluation will mean more revenue for the government as oil exports are priced in dollars.” LISTEN: Coronavirus impact: “The naira is gone. It’s just a question of when” The devaluation effect may be “somewhat positive” for the nation as the CBN will focus on a managed depreciation than a large, one-off devaluation like it has done in the past, according to the Nigerian analysts. In the short to medium term, however, Obiliki believes that “most Nigerian will see a further worsening of their economic conditions as purchasing power diminishes and sectors from FMCG to telecoms begin to denominate their products and services in smaller quantities in order to keep up with shrinking consumption.” SOURCE: https://www.theafricareport.com/24457/nigeria-buharis-multiple-headaches/ |
Nackzy:Already 40% of it is looted as "consultancy fees" Then seeing the left over 60% isn't enough, Buhari will seek another loan later this year, so the article says. |
FURORE OVER ALLEGED EXCLUSION OF SOUTH EAST, EDO FROM $22.7B LOAN The Guardian, 9th March 2020 Except they are reconsidered, the entire South East geopolitical zone as well as Edo State may not benefit from the controversial $22.7b loan approved by the Senate last Thursday. It was gathered that the exclusion of the south east and Edo State, which is already generating a furore, is a fallout of what has been described as the dirty politics that preceded the approval of the loan request which President Mohammadu Buhari presented twice to the National Assembly and eventually got approved by the Senator Ahmed Lawan-led ninth Senate. The eighth Senate under Bukola Saraki had rejected the loan on the grounds of lack of details. But last week, the Senate ignored all requests to allow for debate on the details of the loan and approved the document amidst protest and uproar. Buhari had said that the loan was to “ensure the prompt implementation of projects under the borrowing plan with special emphasis on infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, water supply, growth and employment generation, poverty reduction through social safety net programmes, governance and financial management reforms, among others.” Details of the loan, as approved by the Senate, showed that the South West got $200,000,000.00 while the South South, excluding Edo State, got $4,270,000,000.00. The South East which produced 15 of the 109 senators got nothing from the loan. And more shocking is the fact that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, Clifford Ordia, which processed the loan request and recommended its approval, represents Edo Central. However, the North West, which produced President Buhari, got $6,372,000,000.00 just as the North East got $300,000,000.00 while the North Central got $6,531,000,000 and $5,853,900,000.00 was reserved for general expenses. In more specific details, the power transmission project in Lagos and Ogun states were given $200 million just as $800m was voted for the East west road in the Niger Delta. The coastal railway project (Calabar-Port Harcourt-Onne deep sea port segment got $3.47billion (Cross River and Rivers states.) Projects in the North East that were covered in the loan are the multi-sectoral crises recovery programme ($200m, north-east), North-east Nigeria integrated social protection, basic health, education, nutrition services and livelihood restoration project ($100m); and the Lake Chad Basin Commission ($13m, multinational). In the North West, the following projects were captured by the loan: “Kano-Lagos railway modernisation project (Kano-Ibadan segment double track, $5.53billion; and vocational training in power sector ($50m; FCT, Lagos, Ogun. Kano, Plateau, Niger, Enugu, Kaduna and Cross River). Others are: Kaduna State economic transformation programme for results ($35m, Kaduna); National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructural Backbone Project (NICTIB) phase II ($328.1m (Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Akure, Maiduguri, Lokoja, Kaduna, Akwanga, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina); Health System Project ($110m, Katsina); Rural water supply and sanitation ($150m; north-east, and Plateau); and development of the mining industry ($150m, nationwide). In the North Central, these projects were covered: Staple crops processing zone support project ($100m, Kogi); Greater Abuja water supply project ($381m, FCT); Abuja mass rail transit project (phase 2) ($1.25b, FCT); Mambila hydro-electric power project ($4.8b; and Taraba integrated programme for development and adaption to climate change in the Niger Basin ($6m) It was gathered that only 60 per cent of the loan would be available for spending as 40 per cent is to be paid to those who offered consultancy services regarding the loan. The source disclosed that although the Federal Government was aware that the remaining 60 per cent would not be enough for the projects for which the loan was sought, it had insisted on getting it loan because it intended to seek a second loan later in the year. “A request for the second loan would soon be sent to the National Assembly, “ the source said. Lawan had during his heated argument with the Senate Minority Leader, Eyinnaya Abaribe, before the approval of the loan insisted that the recommendation of the committee should be taken and adopted. Abaribe had also insisted that debate on the loan be on project by project basis. In the politics that played out shortly after the inauguration of the 9th Senate, the PDP caucus had replaced Clifford Ordia with Sahabi Yau from Zamfara State as Senate deputy minority whip, a development, which was very unpleasant to Ordia. Since then, it was learnt that the PDP caucus had never found it easy to prevail on Ordia to do its bidding. As the development generates furore, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, said yesterday that it would investigate the allegations that the southeast zone was excluded from the $22.7 billion loan. It said should the report be true, it would mean that Nigeria was on her way to implosion, as Ndigbo would resist the exclusion. The group said it seriously doubted if Federal Government could contemplate excluding the zone. The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, said: “We have to be sure the story is true. If it is true then the Senate should reverse itself because it is not right. It does not make for development, peace and unity. If it is true, it means Nigeria is on the road to implosion. It is no longer a united country. We will investigate the veracity in the story we are hearing.” SOURCE: https://guardian.ng/news/furore-over-alleged-exclusion-of-south-east-edo-from-22-7b-loan/ |
Our youth have asked for our help and support to fix Nigeria. This is part of my contribution. What's yours? This means cutting cost of governance. This means having constant electricity. Without electricity there can be no Technology. It's Technology that creates wealth. The idea is that Nigeria needs only 1 Legislative House so: SCRAP THE SENATE AND THE MONEY SAVED TO BE USED IN PROPER ELECTRIFICATION OF NIGERIA. All those who want to represent their constituents won't be stopped. They all fight it out in the one House. Please support our youth to create a better Nigeria. We owe it to them.

Copied from a WhatsApp post. Please consider copying it then broadcasting via your own WhatsApp and social media. ===================================================================================== URGENT AGENDA: ELECTRIFICATION OF NIGERIA This is about the urgent Agenda of progressive young Nigerians. Our Agenda is that Nigeria will no longer be a disgrace to itself, to Africa, and to the world. This is a good Agenda that should be supported. A key part of our Agenda is that there be light. Young Nigerians know that there must be light, i.e. ELECTRICITY for us to create a good life for ourselves right now and right here on earth. (Even God to start Creation said - "Let there be light"!) We want the same good life that our counterparts in Europe, USA and China are enjoying. Young Nigerians know that technology is what will bring us development and wealth, and without electricity there is no hope at all for technology. The Agenda of young people is that there must be light in Nigeria. The proposed way is to Scrap the Senate since only one (1) Legislative House is needed, and the money saved is to be used for the PROPER electrification of Nigeria. Nigeria would not be alone in doing so. Senegal scrapped its Senate in 2012 to cut costs of governance and is doing better for it. At Independence, Nigeria had the cheaper and more efficient Parliamentary system so scrapping the Senate is a very good idea. Any person who wants to represent his/her constituents can still do so in the one Legislative House. It is against human rights that a country like Nigeria 20 years into 21st century is still not electrified. This is a crime against Nigerians, especially against young people because we have our lives ahead of us and are handicapped by this lack of electricity. Every parent and every sensible person should support anything that brings good to youth. This Agenda is a good one because Nigeria needs electricity. It is one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and without it the lives of young Nigerians are wasted. The very poor electricity situation in Nigeria is disabling so is quite unacceptable. This is the Agenda - Scrap the Senate because we need only one Legislative House and the money saved be used for the proper electrification of Nigeria. Please support young people in every manner that you can to see that this Agenda for electrification is achieved. Please forward.

‘THE DEPOSED ONE BEHEADED GIDEON AKALUKA,’ — FANI-KAYODE First Reports, 10th March 2020 Author Ubong U. Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation and an advocate of restructuring has revived the controversy surrounding the murder of Gideon Akaluka. This comes a few hours after the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was dethroned by the Kano State Executive Council on Monday, March 9, 2020. Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode in a message posted on his Twitter handle claimed that the deposed one played a central role in the killing of Gideon Akaluka in the mid-90s. He alleged that Gideon Akaluka, a southeasterner, was beheaded by a mob led by the deposed one for allegedly disrespecting the Holy Koran. Mr. Kayode called for the deposed one to be brought to book now that he has been deposed. His words: “Now that he that beheaded Gideon Akaluka has been deposed it is time to bring him to justice for murder. Akaluka was butchered by a Kano mob in the mid-1900s for desecrating the Koran. The deposed one led that crowd, severed his head from his body ¶ded it on a long pole. “He was hidden from Abacha in a Sokoto prison for two years after committing this heinous crime whilst all his co-conspirators were summarily executed by the security forces. “A prominent banker whose son has been convicted of Islamist terrorism in America intervened on his behalf, begged Abacha and consequently he was later set free and allowed to go down south and into banking.” According to the Independent UK, Gideon Akaluka was killed in December of 1994 after his wife allegedly used pieces of the Koran as toilet tissue. The Newspaper reports that Mr. Akaluka was arrested and thrown into jail, but some youths later broke into the prison and beheaded him. His head was paraded in the streets of Kano. But Akaluka’s lawyer had said that his client was not in the compound as at the time the Holy Koran was allegedly desecrated. The lawyer also denied that the woman who allegedly committed the act was Akaluka’s wife. In 2014, the Council For Eastern Justice (CFEJ) had initiated moves to drag Sanusi L. Sanusi, who was then Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, but now dethroned Emir of Kano, to the National Conference so that he can explain what he knew about the killing of Gideon Akaluka. Nobody can explain why Nigerians seem prepared to tolerate bad things for Nigeria. This attitude must stop ooo for our children's sake. Nigerians, and I mean here indigenous people, this is our ancestral lands. Even if we travel out, this is what belongs rightfully to us. Non-indigenous people together with traitors among our people have been parasites to us and our ancestral lands with their natural resources. Let us the indigenous people TAKE IT BACK! Let's take back what is rightfully ours. That means creating arrangements, alliances, governments etc that suit us. What GOOD has the Senate ever done for indigenous Nigerians? We only need ONE Legislative House so the idea to SCRAP THE SENATE is excellently good. Please, indigenous people of Nigeria, spread this plan among us: Scrap the Senate =============================================================== SENEGAL DISSOLVES SENATE TO SAVE GOVERNANCE COST April 2012 Senegal – Senegalese lawmakers, who are divided between a 150-seat national assembly and a 100-seat senate, voted to do away with the senate, passing a law which dissolves the institution in order to save an estimated $15 million. Minister of Justice Aminata Toure explained that the suppression Tuesday of the senate is intended to curb government spending, and will provide the cash needed to help the victims of the yearly rains which have left thousands homeless and killed at least 13 people, cbsnews reports. Unlike the national assembly, the senate is a relatively recent institution, and has become a symbol of government waste. It’s been frequently pilloried and described as an instrument of cronyism, a way to reward loyal party workers who did not get elected to the larger national assembly. Around half the senators are directly appointed by the president. Congress also voted to abolish the office of vice president, establish in 2009 by then-President Abdoulaye Wade, the BBC reports. It has not ever been occupied. SOURCE: https://www.independent.ng/breaking-senegal-dissolves-senate-to-save-governance-cost/ |

Citytrend:I am not following any human but I follow IDEAS and AGENDA of any person or group that is a good one. Restructuring/Split up is not about FFK (or any other person). It is about Nigerians. Our children's future is at stake oooo. It is for people like you and me to strengthen ourselves and others to REMOVE these thieves that rule over us. |
Perhaps we can still go for proper Confederation of 4 Regions (before splitting into same 4 regions): * Oduduwa * Middle Belt * Lower Niger (SE & SS together) * Arewa With for each region: 1) Borders control 2) Self-determination 3) Resource control
