Politics › Re: Muslim Students Attack Obasanjo by meccuno: 3:26pm On May 21, 2019 |
[s] chidima2019: The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) on Tuesday described a statement credited to former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, that Fulanization and Islamination of West Africa is the main reason for Boko Haram insurgency, kidnapping and banditry.
Obasanjo, Akelicious recalls, had on Saturday, claimed that “Fulanization and Islamization of West Africa” is the reason for Boko Haram insurgency, kidnapping and banditry. The former President was a guest speaker at the second session of the Synod of Anglican Dioceses held at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Oleh in Isoko Local Government of Delta State.
Obasanjo, while speaking on the topic “Mobilizing Nigeria’s human and natural resources for national development and stability”, said: “They are now combined and internationalized with ISIS in control. It is no longer an issue of lack of education and lack of employment for our youths in Nigeria which it began as, it is now West African fulanization, African Islamization and global organized crimes of human trafficking, money laundering, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, illegal mining and regime change.
“Yet, we could have dealt with both earlier, and nip them in the bud, but Boko Haram boys were seen as rascals not requiring serious attention in administering holistic measures of stick and carrot. And when we woke up to the reality, it was turned to industry for all and sundry to supply materials and equipment that were already outdated and that were not fit for active military purpose.
But the Muslim students, while reacting, said that the statement relating the crimes to Islam, most especially coming from a former head of State and former President, “is not only reckless, it is unpatriotic and uncalled for”.
The students, in a statement signed by Qaasim Odedeji (Amir/Zonal Coordinator), Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasaq (Zonal Secretary) and Bashir Momoh (Public Relations Officer) of the MSSN B Zone, a copy of which was made available to Akelicious on Tuesday, insisted that insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, drug trafficking being perpetrated across all states in Nigeria and by people of different religions and tribes, have no basis in Islam and have nothing to do with Islam and Muslims.
MSSN said, “MSSN B- Zone believes that the statement relating the crimes to Islam, and most especially coming from a former head of State and former President, is not only reckless, it is unpatriotic and uncalled for.
“If despite the incomparable loss of lives by Muslims in the boko haram insurgency and other criminal activities, people like Obasanjo still find it difficult to believe that the crimes have no way in Islam and can go ahead to associate them to Islam, it is most unfortunate and highly dissapointing to say the least.
“If we must remind Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, perhaps he has forgotten, his regime as President of Nigeria gave rise to regional insurgency such as Niger/Delta militancy and Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) with the militants being mainly southern christians, yet, nobody ascribed the militancy to ‘CHRISTIANIZATION’
“Also considering where Obasanjo chose to make the reckless statement, the congregation being purely southern Christians, it shows Obasanjo deliberately made the wrong assertion to instigate tribal and religious crisis. This is worrisome and unbecoming of somebody of Obasanjo’s status as former head of State.
“In the circumstance, MSSN B-Zone condemns in the strongest term the statement made by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo claiming what he called ISLAMIZATION as the reason for boko haram insurgency and other criminal activities.
“We want to state it for the umpteenth time that insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, drug trafficking been perpetrated across all states in Nigeria and by people of different religions and tribes, have no basis in Islam and have nothing to do with Islam and Muslims.
“We call on Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to be careful in his statements and stop making statements defamatory and indicting of Islam and Muslims in Nigeria in order not to put Nigeria in an avoidable tribal and religious crisis.
“We finally call on well- meaning Nigeria and international community to call Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to order in his reckless statement capable of throwing Nigeria into conflict. As an old man and a former President of the country, he should be more patriotic and concentrate on actions that can bind Nigeria together rather than those that can break it,” MSSN said.

Before making decisions you have to firstly look for those with similar experience. Nigeria was never built for Nigerians,it was built to serve British interest.check out most developed and stable economies, they have similarity in either culture and religion. That is why there are European countries that are smaller than Nigeria. Africa as a whole has to be educated to the importance of reorganizing the continent so that those who choose to be together would form countries where there would be a high level of patriotism. Nigeria is a scam. And like all lies would be destroyed when true nationalities become one. Look at Nigeria, there is a subtle attempt by the Muslim north headed by the fulanis to dominate the whole country through force . We can never be one. Just postponing the eventual division with massive blood shed. A word is enough for the wise. |

Politics › Re: Murder Of Prophet Nwoko By IPOB. Obinna Blows The Whistle. by meccuno: 7:18am On May 17, 2019 |
[s] MetaPhysical: When IPOB and Ohanaeze Youth quarreled over sharing formula of money collected by high profile politicians in 2016, IPOB asked their members to kill Okey Isiguzoro and they pasted his photos and phone numbers. Isiguzoro who knows too well about IPOB financial secrets was ready to explode if they try anything. It was a very disappointed Prophet Nwoko that I met at Ohanaeze secretariat lamenting how money politics wants to disorganize Biafra again.
Prophet Nwoko is not a money bag, despite that, he hates corruption. I remember in 2015 after Jonathan allegedly released cumulative N6.2 billion naira to Ohanaeze leadership to share to get endorsement, the sharing which caused fighting at Ohanaeze Secretariate in January 2015, I met a devastated Nwoko on my way to Abuja who cried and wondered when Ohanaeze will be delivered from money politics.
Therefore, Prophet Nwoko by nature loves Ndigbo, loves Biafra, hates corruption, and hates ostentatious life. He left the US to come and fight for Biafra and was murdered by six machete wielding Biafra activists at his residence in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, according to reports by Biafran Youth League.
Propphet Nwoko that I know loves Nnamdi Kanu , he loves Asari Dokubo, loves Tompolo, Ateke Tom and other Biafran activists outside Igboland. Prophet Nwoko loves Uchenna Madu, Ben Onwuka among others and had told me that on more than one occasion.’
When I wrote an article in 2015 titled ‘Why Tompolo Must not be Arrested’, and the follow up ‘War in the Creeks as Buhari Tompolo Alliance Crumbles’ A visibly excited Prophet Nwoko volunteered to photocopy the write up and give to his activist friends.
Therefore for some IPOB hounds to murder a Biafran prophet, priest, saint, because he accused Mazi Kanu of corruption is tantamount to introducing bloodshed into the Biafran struggle. This bloodshed has rendered this struggle dead on arrival.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has made the same mistakes Ojukwu made when he turned against Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, Banjo and got them murdered directly or indirectly, thereby introducing bloodshed into the Biafran struggle. Thirty months later it was a shameful surrender to a victorious Federal Force and Ndigbo is yet to recover from it till date.
It is too early for IPOB to begin to kill dissenting opinion. The killing of a high profile prophet like Nwoko’s caliber has brought a big curse on the whole process. A friend militant from the Niger Delta have asked me questions on why IPOB should kill Prophet Nwoko. One militant ex general asked me “is that how Nnamdi Kanu will kill all of us if that Biafra comes”. Elements within MASSOB and other activist groups are thinking in the same manner.
Igbos has lost lots of front liners in the past few years. Alex Ekwueme died in 2017, Col Joe Achuzia died in 2018, Dr Dozie Ikedife died too, Apostle Dr PCJ Macjossy died and now Prophet Nwoko was murdered. All who protect Igbo interests are dying one after the other. Something is wrong!
Let the IPOB hounds that killed Prophet Nwoko and their principal make open confessions now because Chukwu Okike Abiama (God of Abraham) never authorized any IPOB or Biafran activist to kill anybody on his behalf.
Failure to do so, that same Chukwu Okike Abiama, whom Biafrans lay claim to, will be the one to frustrate the entire project again by Himself until bloodshed is excised from our system
Benue, Plateau, Wukari, Kafanchan are among our brothers who killed innocent Biafrans during the civil war. Today bloody herdsmen are rampaging on their collective destiny piecemeal and there’s no help in site.
The same fate will be visited on us if we turn deaf ear and begin to kill each other over dissenting opinions’

Politics › Re: Murder Of Prophet Nwoko By IPOB. Obinna Blows The Whistle. by meccuno: 7:17am On May 17, 2019 |
,[s] MetaPhysical: Biafran Activists acting ostensibly under the orders of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, have murdered on the 16thof April, Prophet Anthony Nwoko, a friend and colleague in this struggle to free Ndigbo from internal and external contradictions.
Prophet Anthony Nwoko was a friend and colleague in the quest for Igbo emancipation. He was introduced to me in 2011 by Apostle Dr PCJ MacJossy when Igbo clerics were negotiating with the then Acting President Goodluck Jonathan’s kinsmen on what to do for Ndigbo in return for massive support during 2011 re-election.
Prophet Nwoko followed us in the General Assembly of all Igbo Christian Organizations and Ministers (GAAICOM) when the group wrestled out Ohanaeze Leadership from the hands of state governors and ensured that Ambassador Uwechue was given a second term as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo (not known to then Ohanaeze constitution) to help Uwechue finish the negotiations with Jonathan started by GAAICOM. This was August 2011.
Prophet Nwoko was part of GAAICOM .under the leadership of Apostle Dr PCJ Macjossy. I was the Director of Media and Communications of the prestigious clergy group and under the leadership of Apostle Dr Macjosssy, GAAICOM was able to reconcile many political and ecclesiastical feuds in Igbo lands including in Ohanaeze, CAN, PFN and elements within PDP. Prophet Nwoko was with us during the 2-Day Pre Convention Prayer Conference held at the Ohanaeze National Secretariat in July 2012 in Preparation for the ‘3 Day Walk into the Presence of God’ , a prophecy which God gave Apostle Macjossy as a must, if Igbos will find their feet politically in Nigeria.
I noticed Prophet Nwoko, very joyful whenever you mention Igbo affair, Biafra affair et all. He exudes the confidence that God will deliver Ndigbo soon.
I was surprised during the initial introduction that Prophet Nwoko said that he knew me some years back as an Igbo cleric and activist in Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other places. The prophet Nwoko I knew lived a quiet life. He was not married. His passion for Ndigbo and Biafra made him to leave the United States of America for Nigeria to join the activist movement. (This is not strange because I remember receiving delegates from the US in 2012 who inquired from me whether it is ripe for them to relocate to Nigeria for the Biafran cause)
Prophet Nwoko lives like a monk at his Ugbene Road residence. He could be likened to a Catholic priest or monk who live a celibate life of prayer in remote mountains to pray for world peace.
Prophet Nwoko that I knew prays for Ndigbo hours every day and sometimes he shares with me and some clerics what God told him concerning Igbos. However, due to busy schedules, I haven’t met Nwoko for a while but I knew that he was very busy with Nnamdi Kanu and his lieutenants and I erroneously believed that they are working as one.
Apostle Dr Macjossy, Rev Msgr Oko and I among other clerics, mobilized pressures on certain elements in Nigeria during the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu. While Nwoko was among the group that believed that the Biafran protests would lead to quick release of Nnamdi Kanu, we believed that contacts and goodwill amassed over time around Nigeria will be very helpful, hence we warned authorities against any attempt to poison Kanu in prison
As the Director of Media of GAAICOM, I was mandated to seek audience with relevant authorities concerning Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Also as Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress, our people talked with many Igbo elites to step down from their high horse and help secure the release of Kanu. These are known in public spheres worldwide. However, we disagreed with IPOB on principles because Igbo Mandate Congress is a pro-igbo group which believes that Igbos can achieve greatness in Nigeria and Africa if we put our hands and acts together according to divine mandate and scriptures. Prophet Nwoko differed with us on these, he believes that only Biafran actualization can save Ndigbo, and we respected his opinion. [/s] |

manchy7531: Another Nigerian Victoria Obaze becomes Mayor in uk
Mrs Victoria Obaze, a Nigerian from Imo State made history on Wednesday after she was sworn into office as the first black female Civic Mayor of London Borough of Tower Hamlets, United Kingdom (UK).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obaze’s inauguration on Wednesday is the latest in turn of events that have seen Nigerians emerge as Mayors in their area councils of residence in the UK.
It will be recalled that Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, and Mrs Kate Anorue, both from Anambra State, were recently sworn into office as Mayors of London Borough of Brent and Enfield, respectively.
Obaze who contested three previous councillorship elections in 2010, 2014 as well as 2016 and failed, eventually succeeded in an election conducted on May 5, 2018 in Whitechapel Ward.
She later became the Council’s Deputy Speaker following her nomination by her Councillor Colleagues from where she took over the mantle as Mayor of London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
A statement containing brief history of Obaze obtained by NAN from her close associate and UK Chapter Coordinator, Ugonwanne Social Club Nigeria Int’l, a Nigerian socio-cultural group in UK, Ms Blessing Chijekwu, revealed that the newly sworn-in Mayor had lived in Borough for over 30 years.
“For Councillor (Cllr) Obaze life is all about service to humanity with diligence. Her political experience started when she was elected as one of the board of directors to oversee the regeneration of her area, the Ocean Estate, in the 1980s.
“The move motivated her to get into politics having noticed that there were no black women in the council chambers and this led her to open a project named Healthy Life Style for Stepney Women, East London.
“The project was funded by local authority through Ocean African Caribbean Association which she and her late husband Chief Evangelist Charles Obaze, co-founded.
“She also established Ocean Saturday School aimed at ensuring school attainment for children, as well as Ocean Football Club through which young boys were able to have residential football experiences with Chelsea football Club.
“Above all, Cllr Obaze loves God with a passion; she is a member of Parochial Church Council (PCC), as well as an Executive Council member at St Dunstan’s Church of England Parish in Stepney.
“She is also a Secondary School governor in Tower Hamlets and a habitual visitor to the elderly and physically challenged in the community,” the statement quoted Chijekwu as saying.
The statement also quoted Lolo Ngozi Nwanze, President, Ugonwanne Social Club Nigeria Int’l as saying that Obaze was chosen as life matron of the club because of her meekness and morality.
“These are the virtues that have brought her to where she (Obaze) is today.”
Obaze who has four children and two grand Children attended West London College and Metropolitan University where she studied Business Administration and Community Sector Management at different times.
She also has certification in childcare which enabled her operate a registered charitable childcare centre in UK named Vicharles Play Centre. (NAN)

Politics › Re: Ipob Is Using Fear To Manipulate Ndigbo by meccuno: 7:32am On May 16, 2019 |
[s] MetaPhysical: Fear is a very strong tool that can change human behavior and blur our logic. It is a disease that eats away at reasoning and makes man insensitive. There are several reasons for this. One is that logic is slow; fear is fast. In situations of danger, real or imagined, we ought to be fast: First run or kill, then think. Historically, tribal demagogues have always weaponized fear and used it to manipulate and intimidate communities.
IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu clearly understand this. They have, thus, mastered the skill of using fear to circumvent logic across Igbo land. They have hijacked the higher-brain capacity for critical thinking and reason of many Igbos. IPOB’s onslaught of sub-rational manipulation using fear, dangerously wrapped with tribal sentiments has impaired the judgment we need as Igbos to navigate multicultural Nigeria.
In every media campaign of misinformation and outright lies, therefore, IPOB craftily works on triggering the emotions of Igbos. If they are not warning us that the Yorubas will betray us, they are raising a false alarm on the onslaught of Usman dan Fodio army from the north. The real danger of succumbing to IPOB’s fear mongering is that after a while, the immersion in our tribal loyalty makes the activities of every other tribe not just alien but close to incomprehensible.
Per Les Brown, fear does not have any special power unless you empower it by submitting to it. Unfortunately, for years, Igbos submitted to IPOB’s fear mongering ideology. Igbos allowed a bunch of lazy men in IPOB to operate as tribal leaders who arrogated to themselves the title of “Supreme Leader”. Hoodwinked, many Igbos stopped thinking. We pick signals from IPOB’s internet warriors. Slowly, we winnow our acquaintances to those who will reinforce our worldview. So, we all became vulnerable.
The intellectual elites in Igbo land, including Ohaneze Ndigbo rather than being a key rational bloc resisting this manipulation of the enigmatic Biafran Spirit, surrendered their minds to fear. They succumbed to the manipulation of tribalism by frauds in IPOB.
It is shameful that we allowed IPOB to use our tribal vulnerability to manipulate us. By irrationally “ordering” Ndigbo to “sit-at-home” as they wish, the lazy men behind IPOB have succeeded in using fear to block our logic. The same Igbos who will sheepishly “sit-at-home, will turn around and lament when the same mediocre in IPOB decrees that there will be no election in Igbo land.
IPOB understands that fear is a static that prevents us from hearing ourselves. Because fear is not a good teacher, the lessons of fear are quickly forgotten. So, even though IPOB failed woefully in the Anambra election boycott, they deployed the same strategy and told us to boycott the 2019 presidential elections.
We turned around and blamed Buhari for “setting him free.” We forgot that we had accused the same Buhari of killing Nnamdi Kanu a couple of months back. Then, like a confused chicken, Nnamdi Kanu quickly reversed gear and ordered us to vote for Atiku claiming that “terms have been met, signed, sealed and delivered”. Like zombies, some of us sheepishly hailed him. Shameful.
What should Igbos do to restore reason? How do we stop IPOB’s partisan tribalism from poisoning our politics and derailing our unhindered progress in Nigeria? The first thing we must do is; stop beating a drum with an axe like IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB’s political strategy based on fear should be seen by all Igbos as a lengthened shadow of ignorance that has consistently presented illusions as realities. It leads to anger. The anger, in turn, leads to hate; with hate in our hearts, we make a political miscalculation. Then we fear political retribution and the vicious cycle goes on.
As Igbos, we should convince ourselves that there is something out there in Nigeria that is more important than fear. The fear of living together with dozens of other ethnic groups in Nigeria will not go away. The fear of being cheated by other tribes in the Nigerian political and economic realms will not go away.
However, as warriors, Igbos should embrace the code of necessity, which dictates that the battle must be fought anew every day and bridges built across the Nigerian political landscape.
To succeed, we should start living our dreams and stop leaving the fear used by IPOB to envelop our reasoning. For example, Igbos who approached the Lagos State governorship election under the atmosphere of fear and the misleading assumption that Tinubu and APC will swallow them failed. On the other hand, Igbos, motivated by the need to form an alliance with a candidate that openly sought their support, succeeded.
Finally, a child who is afraid of the dark could be forgiven, but, when a man becomes afraid of light, then, there is a real tragedy of life. Fear, as packaged and delivered by IPOP on our collective ethnic sensitivity, is a deadly thing. It is sinister that has warped our judgment and frozen our reflexes. Worse, it's contagious.
To keep excelling, Ndigbo must move against IPOB’s imposition of fear on all of us with the weapons of faith and love. With love, our best efforts at economic, social, political and educational endeavors across the Nigerian landscape will be rewarded with a bountiful harvest.
Ndigbo should not succumb to the politics of fear by the naked men in IPOB who are offering us clothes. To gain strength, courage, and confidence, we must do the things which IPOB out of fear has made us believe we cannot do.
Together, we can.

spectroscopic: Unless something drastic happens (such as a big disease outbreak, stronger and more nationally spread Boko Haram and Fulani killings, etc), Nigeria will likely remain the same in 2099. The citizens are too stupid to assert themselves, coupled with pervasive tribalism and religiosity. relax. No matter how the north and the British would try but eventually Nigeria can never exist for a long period. It would definitely happen . No matter how long it would take. That's change |
