He blasted the boy and told him that "Fela never wore pants to perform on stage, he only wore it in his house"

Christianity Etc › Re: Is The New Testament Rightly Labeled New Testament? by meccuno: 5:27am On Oct 21, 2013
If you actually want to understand what the new testament is all about,u have to be open minded....and understand one basic fact that the religion you practice isn't an african religion....further more, you have to view christianity in the eyes of a jew......because it originated there.....read a lot about the history of the people who own the religion and the root of christianity. Which is judaism.....because if you expect these penticostal pastors to explain thes things to You,its like passing a camel thru the eyes of a needle......and lastly, the new testament isn't the foundation of the religion jesus practised....and please jesus didn't bring any new law, neither did he abolish any.....jesus operated on the existing laws at that time, which is still in effect till today.....please let's read more....keep and open mind and you would get the knowledge u seek.

is that your solution to every problem? Maybe you should declare lagos a country and cede from Nigeria.....if that would make u happy
Politics › Re: Cable Car Project On The Verge Of Completion – Fashola by meccuno: 10:17am On Oct 08, 2013
Gbawe: Dude, stop this embarrassing display. You have just been showed how the private sector partner running the cable line will raise finance yet you are still saying "he is actually getting loans to finance the project" huh huh huh Can you point to anything here that informs you Fashola is getting loans to finance the project" ? Is there no stage at which some Nigerians can admit "my bad. I got it wrong"? Do you know how PPP arrangements work?

I see you also failed to acknowledge how you wrongly and ignorantly claimed that this would probably be a project limited to the Island alone when you had not even seen a route map. You were not fair to Fashola and made your utterances with some ignorant and erroneous preconceived notion/bias. Admit is graciously and move on.
yeah i admit i am wrong, but deos that change anything?? no....i will stil stand by what i said....you check what your priorities are ....whether funded or not.....one thing that he did which i appreciate well is the refuse collecting....it was organised very well......but there are other things that are needed to make life in lagos at least bearable.....we dont feel the local government....only when it is time to collect revenue........what are the projects that are of extreme importance to his govt?

if for once in our lives forget all these slogans of southwest is breathing fresh air.....fresh air in the south east and fresh air in the south south cause i am really not in for all those crap, and realise that Nigeria is here to stay, then we must move with one voice and threaten our leaders to do the right thing..... but we keep on praising these criminals......no wonder we have a senate that has not passed up to 10 bills in the NASS....when they passed a law about gays,we all where shouting to high heavens what beautiful thing they have done......will the gay bil give me light?? no...will it add valu to the economy?? no......this cable car would only increase the aesthetic value of the state no doubt, but will it at leaase reduce the suffering of the people who are doing business there??
Politics › Re: Cable Car Project On The Verge Of Completion – Fashola by meccuno: 10:03am On Oct 08, 2013
Gbawe: Look, this is becoming tiring. Would it kill you guys to even do a few seconds of research before you speak ignorantly and sway opinions against others wrongly? It is not Fashola or Lagos sponsoring this.

Do your your research, as an educated person, so you can become part of the solution instead of an encumbrance to the progress of your nation and a needless nuisance to administrators genuinely trying to make a difference. There is already a map I presented earlier showing the route of the cable line (see it again below) yet you prefer to embrace ignorance and stoke disaffection against Fashola with the usual "am very sure that the project would be on the island" accusation. Na wa for you guys sha.

http://www.trico-capital.com/projects/view/1/Lagos-Cable-Car-Transport-Project i have always been part of the solution and i will not allow my self to be intimidated by a million people...what am saying is that if he is actually getting loans to finance the project, what stops him from doing the same to the health education and infrastructure?? was surprised at the speed of light he used on the cable bridge construction while there are many roads that are begging for attention....and mind u,i don't have beef with any body....if you do what you are supposed to do,then i will praise you....... no matter who the person is,if he derails,i wont hesitate to speak my mind....all these projects are just to impress the world or Nigerians to show that he is working...what has this got to do with the common man....... huh

ITS REALLY ANNOYING.....what has cable car got to do with how improved my life is? u have roads in lagos that are so terrible, but because its not the island, then it is left in Gods hands.....every day u get harassed by officials of the lasg....is that how humans are supposed to live? but when the lasg says they would do something that has no bearing what soever to the common man, people would start rejoicing just to tell others that nothing is happening in their place......i hate hypocrisy.....LASU collects very exorbitant fees.....is this the legacy they want us to believe that Awolowo left for these funny leaders to show as an example.....Nigger please

Politics › Re: Cable Car Project On The Verge Of Completion – Fashola by meccuno: 9:30am On Oct 08, 2013
the surprising thing is that when issues like this are read and disseminated, people rejoice....it is a good development, but i still think it is very unnecessary...there are very basic things that are begging for attention in Lagos like good roads, security, health facilities, and the most important of all,education.....if he had channeled these large sums of money to education,i believe Lagos would be a better place.......and am very sure that the project would be on the island.....i will not congratulate this guy on structures that he puts on the island because the island residents are not the people that voted for him alone.........hope its not a question of the tail wagging the dog again......

Christianity Etc › A Crash Course In Judaism by meccuno(op): 8:18pm On Oct 07, 2013
Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people. It is one of the oldest religions, and it is based on the belief in one God. Judaism deeply influenced both Christianity and Islam. All three religions began in the Middle East.

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the sacred book of Judaism. Christians refer to the Jewish Bible as the Old Testament. It is a collection of many books. Some books of the Bible tell the history of the Jewish people and show how God was active in human events. Some books set down laws and rules. Other books consist of poetry or speeches.

The first five books of the Bible are especially sacred to Jews. These books are called the Torah. Religious Jews believe the Torah to be the word of God.

HOW DID JUDAISM BEGIN?

Jews consider the biblical figure Abraham to be the father of the Jewish people. According to Jewish belief, God made a covenant or agreement with Abraham. God promised to look after the descendants of Abraham as his chosen people. They, in turn, would believe in one God and obey his commands.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

In the 1200s bc, the Jews were living as slaves in Egypt. A leader named Moses led them to freedom. On the way to the promised land of Canaan, Moses received a message from God. The message was the Ten Commandments, the most basic laws of Judaism. The Ten Commandments tell how people should behave toward one another as well as toward God. Judaism was one of the first religions to put ethics, or good behavior, at its center.

THE DIASPORA

The Jews ruled a kingdom off and on for six centuries. Their great kings included Saul, David, and Solomon. Eventually, they lost their country, which they called Israel, and were forced to scatter. This scattering is called the Diaspora. It has continued for 2,500 years. Judaism has continued to develop during the period of the Diaspora, as the Jewish people focus on their communities, books, and religious ideas.

Some Jews believe that the Diaspora, or exile from the land of Israel, was a punishment from God for disobeying his laws. They believe that God will send a prophet or messiah to Earth one day. The world will then end and all the people who ever lived will face God’s final judgment.

JEWISH WORSHIP

Jews come together for prayer in a building called a synagogue. An important part of the synagogue is a cabinet that houses a scroll on which the Torah is written. A rabbi (Hebrew for “teacher”) conducts the worship service at the synagogue. The service includes prayers and readings from the Torah.

The Sabbath is a day of rest and prayer for religious Jews. The Jewish Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday evening and continues until sunset on Saturday. Religious Jews pray three times a day. They avoid doing any work on the Sabbath.

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are known as the High Holy Days. Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the Jewish New Year. Yom Kippur comes ten days later. On this day, Jews fast (go without food) and pray for forgiveness of their sins.

Other Jewish holidays mark events in Jewish history. Passover, for example, celebrates the escape from slavery in Egypt.

BRANCHES OF JUDAISM

Judaism today is divided into three branches. These branches offer different ideas about how to stay religious while living in the modern world. Orthodox Jews keep strictly to the ancient ways stated in Jewish sacred texts and Jewish law. Conservative Jews believe laws and traditions may change to fit the times, though not easily. Reform Jews believe individuals can choose which traditions to follow

Politics › Re: Can Lagos Be Said To Be Working When Nigeria Is Not Working? by meccuno: 7:43pm On Oct 07, 2013
there is no state in Nigeria that is working lets not fool our selves......what are the in dices that makes up a "working" state?? we only congratulate the Lagos state government because he has taken the step of trying to restructure the decayed facilities of the state......Lagos as a case study is not a country within a country......it is part of a state called Nigeria......and Lagos cannot move ahead or faster than the root which is the federal government........as far as am concerned, beautification alone does not make a state in Nigeria to be working...it goes beyond that. what are those government policies that are enacted to alleviate or make the lives of an ordinary Lagosian to be affected in the positive direction? as far as am concerned,a state that enact laws to the detriment of the masses isn't doing anything at all...because that is the major reason why they are in power......sentiments aside, these governors are trying, but they are far from being a working state...........

cashkid is back: onitsha dont nid an airport, there is already a functionin international airport in enugu and a cargo airport in owerri.wat its nids nw a well functionin seaport
i dont think that there is any state that doesn't need an airport....it is dependent on how the Governor would able to maximize the gains to the benefit of the indigenes and non alike......airport is not really all about luxury....am sure people would also say that some states don't need a 24hrs power supply.....
