at last the international break is over. it seemed like forever. Our next game is against table toppers, Valencia at the Camp Nou. Big big match |
honeric01:the much awaited B sample also tested positive. She has already been stripped off the gold medal and a ban may follow |
David Villa's goal from the penalty spot in Spain's 3-2 win over Scotland has made him Spain's all time leading scorer with 45 goals. The former record was held by Raul with 44 goals |
bisiaet:India are very strong competitors in games like the Commonwealth and the Olympics. Their strong points are power sports-weightlifting and wrestling, table tennis, badminton, gymnastics, synchronized swimming amongst others |
oluite:so sorry. my bad. no vex |
While this news is heartbreaking, I would be very very reluctant to cal her a drug cheat for a number of reasons: 1. Nigeria is not a known drug cheat when it comes to athletics meet 2. Damola has been involved in several european meets and was also part of the Africa meet not too long ago and on each occassion, she was tested and was never found wanting. I think the IAAF should take a very critical look at the B sample as I do not trust those indian doctors most especially that one of their national dailies has falsely named a Nigerian team doctor as one of those who have taken opportunity of the CWG to carry out a knee operatin in the country for free and further investigation revealed that it was a Namibia team doctor that was involved!
that she has been competing in other international athletics meets and hasnt been found cheating doesnt mean anything. Marion Jones won 3 gold medals at the Sydney Olympics in addition to the gold she won at the 1998 IAAF world championships and she didnt test positive until couple of years later. Same thing applies to current Olympic 100m champion, Shelly Ann Fraser who this month just got a four months suspension for testing positive for some banned substance. . . |
oluite:this one is hating so much that what she's typing is hardly coherent. LOL! attention seeking? maybe. at least, I got the attention from you, ninny |
damn! didnt know posting a picture could generate these much ruckus |
ksena:yeah thanks |
ha ha ha! |
I think we should wait for the final verdict on whether she's positive because she said she took some painkillers for a tooth ache which might have contained the substances she was tested positive for |
12large1:you are right and I think that midfield was our problem in the match |
yeah, been into their music lately ever since i heard 'breakeven'. I think they are Irish. 'The man who can be moved' is a great song. |
well, I dont think we played badly. We played well but the result just wouldnt go our way. We actually have never won in Guinea even when we had a stronger team. Guinea are good side. We still have a very good of qualifying. It's two teams that will qualify from each group and I am sure we will beat them silly when they come down to Nigeria |
of course, he bagged a yellow card for this. Montenegro next face England. What will Vucinic do this time around? Maybe, he will take off his undies. . .
|
chic2pimp:maybe he once lost his girlfriend to an Arsenal fan |
Sierra Leone drew with champions, Egypt in Cairo and this means they have got something to offer. I dont think SA can win this. Piennar is out through injury and the overhyped Teko Modise is just an excuse for a footballer. Sierra Leone also have home advantage and they actually defeated SA the last time they met in Freetown. SL WINS OR A DRAW |
Papoose- Law Library part 5 |
mukina2:not the answer I was expecting, boss ![]() |
mukina2:Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast or The Gambia, which're you from? |
There's nothing to celebrate. 11.32 seconds is way too slow |
efizeey:you're sooo right. The entatainer album only has like three tracks that makes sense-igwe, suddenly and mogbono feli feli. I cant stand fall in love. It's one of the worst songs I've ever heard. He's just been a lucky chap. |
and we didnt even prepare. Great job they are doing out there but I dont think the CWG is very competitive. I remember in Manchester 02, we won 10 gold and 10 bronze and we finished 10th overall and at the Athens olympics in 2004, we couldnt win a single gold medal. We could only win two or three bronze medals |
Sanity returns to NPL. It's back to 20 teams again |
Ibra is the most technically gifted player ever and this isnt just me talking, its an established football fact. I'll try to dig up one of the sites I read it from. No question, Ibra! |
I also think Owumi is equally right to challenge Bayelsa's relegation because it would have been unfair to relegate Bayelsa if you consider the circumstances surrounding the whole issue. Bayelsa were 1-0 up against Wikki Tourist until the 88th minute when Wikki fans invaded the pitch. Bayelsa should have been given 3 points and 3 goals but were not given because board room points had been scrapped. Meanwhile, Bayelsa had a midweek game at Kaduna and were already in Kaduna when they were notified of the replay of their match with Wikki in Bauchi some hours before the scheduled time. The timing already made it impossible for Bayelsa to honour the match considering the fact that they were in Kaduna and would have to travel a long distance to Bauchi. Also, Bayelsa were 1 point away from safety and if they had been given the 3 points they won't have gone down. I dont see anything wrong with what Baribote was doing but I think the media took sides with Owumi and made Baribote look like the bad person when he was actually doing the right thing |
Dis Guy:LOLZ. . . But there's nothing wrong with Baribote challenging the validity of Owumi's election. Owumi was not even eligible to contest as NPL chairman and it's Baribote that is being portrayed as the bad person and to me, he is fighting a just cause |
but from what I have read, Baribote is actually fighting a just cause. Owumi was never a club chairman and this automatically makes him ineligible to contest as NPL chairman. Dont know how things will swing now |
Victor Baribote sacked The Bayelsa State government; owners of Bayelsa United Football Club have sacked the Victor Baribote Rumsen led board of the club. Commissioner for Sports in Bayelsa State, Okpokiri Jones gave no reasons for the sacking of the Baribote led board but ordered that they return all government property in their possession with immediate effect. However insiders say the sack may not be unconnected to the recent spate of negativity associated with the club in recent times. First, they were knocked out in the first round of the CAF Champions League by a Chadian club. Then they failed to pay sign on fees to its players for two seasons now despite allegedly receiving eight hundred and fifty million naira (about $5.6m) from the state government in that period. The club were eventually relegated but Baribote fought the relegation until last week when the sports minister, Isa Bio in a bid to make peace declared that there would be no relegation in the last league season, a decision that was part of what caused the FIFA suspension of Nigeria. Baribote is also fighting the removal of Davidson Owumi as chairman of the Nigeria Premier League, claiming he should be the one in the position. Despite all these Baribote insists Davidson Owumi must go. He also says Bayelsa United must not be relegated and most of all he denied receiving eight hundred and fifty million naira from the state government. He told KickOffNigeria.com that it is not true he received such an amount from government but could not pay his players. "Anybody who does that is wicked and deserves to be punished. "Those are all rumours. I agree that two seasons ago I only paid 30% of the sign on fees to players and last season I did not pay anything, it is not true that I was given so much," Baribote said. "If I had embezzled money for players I deserve to be punished along with my family," he said. http://www.kickoff.com/news/18134/victor-baribote-rumsen-sacked.php |
