The only way Arsenal can beat Chelsea is if Drogba and Anelka retire |
LWKMD!!! NASS and other Nigeria government parastatals' website are sooo insecure, I could hack it from a phone |
Villa dey misfire. He spurned a couple of chances in this game. |
dont be surprised when they eventually release their own list and it's no different from this |
Barca are bad on their own then a Barca motivated by vengeance. . . OMG Besides, Rubin are not as good as they were last year. They sold their tormentor in chief; Dominguez, to Valencia. Barca's winning streak continues |
^^ or Ian Harte |
honeric01:no be only you tire o, I'm fed up as well. Its like they're taking step forward and they sprint backwards. Its horrifying to see that a bad decision like this is made to pacify one person. I learnt the league will now be in an abridged format-North and South. The top two from each region will now take part in a playoff; sort of like the super 4 to decide the winner. 8 teams will also be relegated |
The NPL kickoff date have been moved forward to 23rd September. The league will now feature 24 teams as no team was relegated for 09/10 season. Ridiculous decision. These people are confused. |
khanye:seriously. The guy is carrying the whole Milan team on his back. |
Caf is a useless body nah. Mamadou Niang, highest goal scorer in French Ligue 1 last season is not in the mix and an Nsofor that only scored 6 goals on loan at Malaga is nominated for Africa's best player award. Isnt this pure madness? |
To show how ridiculous CAF can get, they left out Mamadou Niang- French Ligue one highest goal scorer last season. If not for Drogba, Eto'o and one or two players there, I would have thought these are nominees for flops of the year award. And to think that Glo spends millions of dollars hosting this joke known as caf awards when the local league is in need of a sponsor makes it all the more annoying |
Essien only played a handful of games last season. He was injured for most part of last season and he also didnt make the world cup and played just one nations cup match. Nsofor scored only 6 goals during his loan spell at Malaga last season. He was a fringe player both at the nations and world cup. What did Kolo Toure and Kanoute do to deserve being on the list? useless caf awards |
I tire for the list o! Alan Shearer-all time highest goal scorer and Frank Lampard-midfielder with the highest number of goals-were not included. Lampard should take Gerrard's place |
Alvarez has been sacked ![]() |
Over 260,000 fans worldwide voted on Barclays Football Facebook page to pick the ultimate XI, with United - by far the most successful team of the Premier League era - providing seven players past and present. United keeper Peter Schmeichel beat off the competition to win his place in between the sticks, while Gary Neville and Patrice Evra occupy the full-back positions. The highly decorated Ryan Giggs gets the nod on the left hand side of midfield after a glittering career spanning the entire existence of the Premier League, while fellow veteran and the equally evergreen Paul Scholes takes his place in the middle. David Beckham claimed more votes than his fellow United number seven Cristiano Ronaldo to line up on the right while Eric Cantona, the man widely credited with sparking United’s incredible run of success back in the 1992-93 season, plays up front. Just for good measure, United provide the manager too, Sir Alex Ferguson leading the side from the bench having won an overwhelming 64 per cent of the vote. Liverpool’s talismanic Steven Gerrard breaks up United’s dominance in midfield, while Chelsea’s John Terry and Arsenal legend Tony Adams - both great leaders of men - were voted on to the team at centre-back. Completing the team is Thierry Henry of Arsenal, who lines up alongside Cantona in an all French forward line. But there were no places for the likes of Roy Keane, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira or Alan Shearer in the elite XI. BARCLAYS FOOTBALL FACEBOOK FANS’ ALL-TIME BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE XI: GK – Peter Schmeichel RB – Gary Neville CB – Tony Adams CB – John Terry LB - Patrice Evra RM – David Beckham CM – Paul Scholes CM – Steven Gerrard LM – Ryan Giggs CF – Eric Cantona CF – Thierry Henry MANAGER: Sir Alex Ferguson http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/18092010/58/premier-league-fans-choose-time-xi.html Nonsense list. Evra, all time best left back? ridiculous! |
Essien was injured for most of last season. He didnt make the world cup. what is he and the likes of Toure, Kanoute and Nsofor doing on the list? What did they do all through last season. Nsofor only scored 6 goals during his loan spell with Malaga. |
honeric01:thats great. hope they wont pull out midway into the season. But then, one would expect that at this point in time, it should be sponsors on their knees begging to sponsor the league and not the other way around |
Less than one week to go before the new season kicks off and there is still no sponsor. I wonder how the NPL will get by without a sponsor this season. They barely survived last season and had to use monies meant for players welfare and could hardly pay the referees |
This West Brom are really good. They play an excellent passing game. Chris Brunt is a very good player. I was surprised no team picked him up when they got relegated in 2009. I think they have what it takes to survive in the premier league |
So Bayern are absolutely clueless without Ribery and Robben. For Mainz, all na initial 'gra gra'. We've seen it all before. They're just like Hoffenheim in their breakout season. They'll prolly end up as winter champions. Lest I forget, how market ![]() |
Sergio B is in the form of his life. Frankly, I never knew his worth until these last couple of games. Anyways, 4 wins on the trot. Season is begining to take shape. Visca el Barca |
Up next: vs Athletic Bilbao @ San Mames. 9:00 PM |
Kops will nick this. I expect Liverpool to pour out its frustration of getting dumped out of Carling cup in midweek on Sunderland. Liverpool are desperate to get their campaign back on track and they are set to obliterate anything on its path. Liverpool 3-0 |
the moral of the story is to never cut corners. These guys failed the previous test and so they were supposed to sit out this season but they used 'mago mago' to make the test again and the rest is history now. . . . Cooper test no be joke |
why on earth is Peter Utaka not being called up? He has been scoring freely in the Danish league and Europa league too 12large:how many players do you want to be called up? Amodu was villified for not calling up home based players. Eguavoen has given them a chance and now you are saying something else. Is it player in Europe that must be called up? |
I'm behind City on this one. Tevez has an impressive record against Chelsea while Drogba has never scored at the City of Manchester Stadium. Chelsea showed in midweek how easily they could capitulate to attacking football and that is what City are all about-non stop attacking football. City also have a reputation of beating big teams. They won 3 games against the 'big four' last season. City takes this- 2-1 |
I'm rooting for Fernando Alonso and the Ferari team |
honeric01:you're right. Enyimba vs Rangers is a game I look forward to every season |

I wonder how many wealthy men can do this, one would expect men like Dangote to donate to the poor but someone else is.
what makes you think Dangote does not give to the poor? Are you aware that he has a foundation through which he reaches out to people in need? |
The world cup. Just look at England. Its 1966 world cup winning team's captain, Sir Bobby Moore, was knighted for leading England to its only football glory. Shows you much people value the world cup |
