AjanleKoko: Well, 6-0 like I said, and no signs of letting up. Maybe one or two more for Madrid, maybe a hat-trick for CR7?
Ah, I spoke too soon. Now 7-0, and CR7 got his hat-trick. I feel for Pellegrini. Now he'll never be respected in Spanish football. Well, I still rate him high though. That Malaga side I saw last night, a combination of all the top coaches in Europe will not save them from the drop. Elsewhere, he's done very well. He led Villareal to a 2nd place finish and the Q/finals of the CL. At Madrid, save for the scandalous defeat to Alcocorn in the CDR, he didn't do badly. They narrowly lost to Lyon in the CL and pushed us all the way for the title. We more or less won the league on the last day. |

RuuDie: I'd take a much maligned Perroti over that dunce called Capel --- wonder why he still plays for this team! You're right! Dude has hardly pulled his weight in the games he's featured in. RuuDie: Good set of results in this round of matches see us in 7th place - on par with Bilbao; and just two points adrifit of espanyol occupying the first Europa ligue spot. . . amazing, weeks ago i thought we'd blown any chance of making europe next season. Hope still springs eternal
Bilbao losing to Zaragoza & Espanyol's surprise capitulation at home against Mallorca certainly helped. . . .but its still hot i this europa ligue zone; Sociedad, Athletico, Mallorca & even Getafe can all sneak in, its exciting, almost like a mini-ligue outside the bigger picture! The league has like four or 5, almost independent strata: - Barca & Madrid:: Title race. -Valencia & Villareal:: 3rd/4th place race. -Espanyol, Bilbao, Sevilla, Atleti, Sociedad, Mallorca, Getafe:: Congested mini league, Europa League race. -Zaragoza, Gijon, Hercules & co. :: These ones are fighting for a safe mid table finish. The higher you finish, the bigger the money, probably. -Malaga, Almeria, Levante, Deportivo, Racing:: Battle against the drop. |

I'm expecting alot of drama in tonights game, infact, it's a must watch. First, Pellegrini returns to the Bernabeu where he led phase 1, part 2 of Fiorentino's Galacticos Project. Mourinho, as usual, has drawn first blood, sensationally declaring himself a better coach than Pellegrini is. He's also launched an attack on the league body; LFP, saying they scheduled the fixtures to favour Barca. *Mourinho is losing it* The smart money would be on a Madrid win but I expect Malaga to give a spirited fight in defence of their gaffer. Malaga are already off the foot of the table and would be looking to consolidate on their recent revival by pulling a surprise at the Bernabeu. Julio Baptista, whose career has failed to blossom since leaving the Bernabeu will also be hoping to put a dent to his former employer's title ambitions. Lot's of twists to this match, I can't wait |

ogazi007: BREAKING NEWS!PUYOL IS BACK! END OF DISCUSSION.
At the end of the training session on Thursday, Barça captain Carles Puyol was able to train with the group for the first time since late January. The other big story from the session was the absence of coach Josep Guardiola, hospitalized for a herniated disc.
A total of 25 players were present on the pitch of field number two of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for first team training on Thursday. Among them was Carles Puyol, who despite working outside the group for the first part of the session, at the end joined his colleagues for the first time since he was injured in late January.
The session, mostly recovery after Wednesday’s league match against Valencia (0-1), has helped the players leave behind the victory at the Mestalla and focus on the next League match against Real Zaragoza at Camp Nou on Saturday at 20:00.
Coach Josep Guardiola has been the main absence from the session, who after two weeks of back pain had to be admitted to a hospital in Barcelona this morning where he was diagnosed with a herniated disc. For this reason, his assistant coach, Tito Vilanova, was in charge of directing the session.
Of the 25 players present on the pitch, 14 were from the first team and 11 from the youth teams. The youth team players present were Miño, Masip, Armando, Benja, Nolito, Ilie, Sául, Sergi Gómez, Sergi Roberto, Planas and Víctor Vázquez.
Among the first team players was Jeffren, who has worked with the group after receiving his medical discharge after a month and a half away from the pitch following an injury on January 20.
Jose Manuel Pinto, Iniesta, Abidal, Pique and Adriano, who all started against Valencia, spent the session in the gym rather than on the grass. Meanwhile, Victor Valdes is still recovering from his injury.
The team will return to training this Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, beginning at 18:00. Afterwards, a member of the coaching staff will appear at a press conference. Ooooooooose! Our inspirational captain is back. I jus dey pity Arsenal ogazi007: Keita as a central back?it has not got to that hence we have some good guys that can do the job in Barca B.Pep should try fontas/abidal or millito/abidal against real zaragoza.millito is a very good and experience CB,he only need more playing time and i think he can rise to the occasion.we do not really need to worry about our defence that much afterall it was Marquez and millito last season and both were not really at their best at that point in time.we need to control the game like we did in the firsthalf at the emirate and take our chances.WE ARE STILL FC BARCELONA PEOPLE. Absolutely. When he was at Zaragoza, before they got relegated, he was first choice CB for Argentina, ahead of Walter Samuel and others. The only reason he's slipped down the pecking order for Argentina is because he doesn't play regularly. Injuries have also not helped him but truth is, Milito is a quality CB. If only he could get more action on the pitch, we'd really enjoy him. |

AjanleKoko: No be the same match, where Pep switched formations, pulled off Masch, brought in Pedro, and sent Adriano to cover LB? In the three games I have seen Busi play CB, the formation lasted maximum an hour. First was against Almeria in the second leg of the CDR semi-final. Busi was pulled off for Pique in the second half, after playing CB in the first half. Second was against Bilbao, and Masch had to be pulled off. Third was last night. In all three games, Barca went on to win, after they adjusted him back to his normal role.
I think he still needs to understand positioning. Busi is good at moving all over the pitch, breaking up play, holding the ball up excellently, and delivering the link play with the forwards. In fact, he rotates the deep-lying playmaker role well with Xavi. But being CB is all about positioning and awareness. You must be able to anticipate how the attack is going to rotate, cut off forwards from running into space, cut off balls from getting to players running into space, cut out crosses from the flanks, etc. As a CB, if you're out of position, you team is more or less a goal down, and we saw that from Valencia many times last night. They were kind of unlucky in some instances, in some others, Abidal was able to intercept quickly.
Maybe they should try Fontas. Alves would have to close down and track back quicker to support him. Milito and Abidal won't be a good pairing, cos they are both left-sided. Let's see what Pep comes up with sha. I no send. We just have to raise the intensity a little. Arsenal will definitely play us, but I know if we play at our peak, we can destroy them. +1. Pep also used Busquets as CB against Levante, our first game this year and although he retained the formation for the entire duration of the match, the way our defence was endlessly breached, we were lucky to come out that game alive. Busi sucks terribly as CB. He lacks the aggression, bravery, positioning and game reading abilities of a CB. A midfield marshall nonetheless. I think Pep would once again play Busi as a CB but something tells me Puyol would somehow manage to be fit enough for that game. |

Messi's just four goals short of his total for last season. I've no doubt he'll surpass 50 goals this season. Pep on course for his first win at the Mestalla. This season has been about rewriting history. I guess the second win will come against JM and his boys in the CDR final. The venue is this same Mestalla. |

medjai: Morning. . . eh, it's past noon already sha.
I'm glad we have Alves back for today's game. Valencia are very dangerous on the left. Jeremy Matthieu and Juan Mata could pose alot of problems when they attack from the left. I also hope Pep plays Abidal as leftback instead of centreback because of the threat of Joaquin Sanchez on the right. Overall, Los Che are a quality side. They're unbeaten in their last 15 games in all competitions. They are very dangerous going forward. The trio of Soldado, Aduriz and Mata can pose problems to any team in the world.
I'd love to see Pep play a back four of Alves, Pique, Milito and Abidal.
Anyway, I hope we win. No biggie if we don't win. Wow! It looks like Pep read my post(maybe he's on NL, lol). The difference here's that he's played Busquets as CB instead of Milito as I opined. This Valencia side looks depleted. No Navarro, Soldado and Aduriz, they played Pablo up front instead and Matthieu is playing on the left of midfield instead of his usual leftback. Adriano has looked good so far. |

very strange line up by Pep. Iniesta is playing up front on the right. Busquets is in defence and Adriano is partnering Xavi and Masch in the middle. |
