What about the allegations levelled against Bankole by Melaye and his group of progressives? What about the =N= 9bn that couldn't be accounted for? Everything will be or has been swept under the carpet as usual. Bankole in the first place does not have the powers to suspend fellow NASS members but this is a place where illegality always triumphs so nobody's asking questions. The Nigerian press have also not helped matters. Arent they supposed to be the 4th estate?, the watch dog? |
Sia1 had better call up Peter Utaka and Brown Ideye. These two are scoring goals with ease in the Danish and French leagues respectively |
abeg free Iniesta. He scored the winner in the world cup final. He scored 2 goals and made 2 assists and was one of the stand out performers at the mundial. Sneijder scored 5 goals, two were aided by deflections - the goal against Brazil and Uruguay. I think Iniesta did better than Sneijder at the world cup. This is not to denigrate Sneijders achievement all through last season. He was indeed exceptional. After some serious cogitation, I've realized that everyone that made the final three deserves his place. Sneijder deserves a place, but who do you take out? |
He had brace himself up for the imminent tragedy |

My governor take heart. May God grant the Oshiomole family, the fortitude to bear the monumental loss. May her gentle soul rest in unhindered peace |
^^That's great news. Did you hear that today? I hope this puts to end the whole dispute. Meanwhile, Kwara United and Bukola Babes will now play their premier league home games in Abeokuta and Minna, respectively, pending the completion of the Ilorin Township Stadium, after the Offa Stadium was deemed unfit to host league matches. I saw this in today's Punch |
honeric01:I heard a decision as regards what went down in this game will be taken in the NPL's next meeting. This is a huge test for Owumi's administration. He's been all talk, now it's time for some action. I'm waiting to see some heavy sanctions handed to them, not the usual banishment. Points deduction and some big fine |
NFF to decide NPL chairmanship in next meeting The last appears not to have been heard over the tussle over the chairmanship of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) with the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) set to take a decision when next it meets. Though there is no date mentioned for the next meeting of the Nigerian FA Executive Committee, SuperSport.com has been informed by a top official of the football house that the president of the federation, Aminu Maigari, revealed that a decision will be taken at the body’s next meeting in Abuja. “I can’t really say for sure when the NFF will be meeting. It could be next week. But I know it should be before the end of this year. In that next meeting of the board members, I know that they will take a decision on the dispute over the chairmanship of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL). “You know the last (NFF) board set up an arbitration panel led by Professor Akin Ibidapo-Obe to look into the matter. So I can’t say if the recommendations made by that panel will be executed by this board or not. But I am certain that in the next meeting they will make a decision on the matter,” the official told SuperSport.com. Last Wednesday, the Nigerian FA was expected to have taken a decision on the matter but it was understood that due to reports in the media and the sensitivity of the dispute over the chairmanship of the Premier League it had to shelve it aside. The chairmanship of the Premier League has been in dispute since Davidson Owumi won the NPL election in May this year against Victor Rumson Baribote, who has been calling for the removal of the former as chief of the country’s top-flight division. In early November, the NFF invited both men in finding a lasting solution to the gridlock but the meeting ended without a way out. http://naijaligue..com/ |
Cappadona123:I'm confident we'll make it back up. It's two teams from each conference of the league so maybe Insurance together with Gateway will make it to the Premier League by the end of the season. Gateway have a reputation of going down and coming back up |
Flying Antelopes provide spark for Team of Week Free-scoring Enugu Rangers claimed three spots in this week’s Team of the Week of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) after their five-goal performance in Week 5 against Zamfara United last Sunday. The trio of Emeka Nwanna, Ugonna Uzochukwu and Alphonsus Dike were picked from the Flying Antelopes by the Premier League award panel. Nwanna popularly called ‘Ayaya’ grabbed one of the 11 spots in the playing personnel of the Team of the Week for Matchday 5 after his double strike helped Rangers to a 5 – 1 thumping of Zamfara United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe. Equally, Uzochukwu and coach Dike complete the trident of the Flying Antelopes’ trio in the team named by the NPL. Another player, ThankGod Amaefule, who scored twice for Sharks, made his first appearance in the Team of the Week while ThankGod Ike of Warri Wolves for the third time in a month. Also, Wolves’ game winner over Lobi Stars last Sunday, Efe Yarhere, got a place as one of the forwards in a three-man attack. Enyimba’s stuttering start to this season is reflected in the Team of the Week with goalkeeper Chijioke Ejiogu being named for his clean sheet and match-winning spot kick against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC). Other mentions in the team are Akpos Eborge (Plateau United), Umar Zango (Lobi Stars), Isiaka Olawale (Kwara United), Jude Aneke (Kaduna United) and Heartland youngster, Hamza Jamiu, who joined the Owerri side in the off-season from Inter Enugu. Team of the Week (Week 5) Goalkeeper: Chijioke Ejiogu (Enyimba) Right Back: Ugonna Uzochukwu (Rangers) Left Back: Eborge Akpos (Plateau United) Centre Back: ThankGod Ike (Warri Wolves) Centre Back: Umar Zango (Lobi Stars) Midfield: ThankGod Amaefule (Sharks) Midfield: Isiaka Olawale (Kwara United) Midfield: Hamza Jamiu (Heartland) Forward: Emeka Nwanna (Rangers) Forward: Jude Aneke (Kaduna United) Forward: Efe Yarhere (Warri Wolves) Coach: Alphonsus Dike (Rangers) http://naijaligue..com/ |

We definitely are coming back up by the end of the season, we narrowly missed out last season. The National Div. 1 league is resuming on the 12th of this month. I'm confident Insurance will do very well. With the full backing of our comrade governor and our fresh astra turf pitch, there's no stopping the Benin Arsenal. Meanwhile, this Crown guys should be taken seriously, they've beaten Kwara Utd and Kano Pillars - two of the top four teams last season, no be beans o |

It never was the case, it is a recent trend in this part of the world. It's a Western thing, but trust our Nigerian women, they'll swallow every Western trend hook, line and sinker. Not saying it's bad though |

totally senseless move and he only recently signed a new contract. They've had some fantastic results this season: 6 - 1 over Aston Villa, 5 - 1 over Sunderland plus wins over Arsenal, Chelsea in the Carling Cup and earning a share of the spoils with Chelsea in the league. I think they are just suffering from a dip in form. It's characteristic of newly promoted teams after they are off to a flying start. West Brom only just recovered from a 3 match losing streak. I think the board should have been patient. I wonder who will replace him. Martin O'Neil probably |
