@medube
I'll explain to u in a way that even you will understand. unbeaten in seven games doesnt always mean winning six and drawing one with one match outstanding, and a huge bank account, fans of at least 60,000 behind you, the most widespread fanbase of commited fans(the fakers have left to chelsea last year) inspired manager and trampled on rivals and then topped with a young chargin team.
is that clear enough for you?
Yeah right! I beg make we hear better thing. How can fans of 60,000 be the most widepsread fanbase of commited fans?  grin Damn, even HUll City have more fans than 60,000  cheesy

Btw, are you one of the 60,000? grin

@debosky thank you.   smiley

@ritchboi, I believe he has made it as clear as possible. And yes we can say Chelsea were unbeaten at home against Fulham, thats why our record has now gone to 67 unbeaten home matches grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 11:26pm On Sep 30, 2007
While we wait for debosky or anyone else to help correct me, if needed, I will explain to you what it means. It means in their first 7 games, they were undefeated in 5 and lost 2. I never stated the order of wins, draws or losses, so I don't know why you are reading another meaning  grin But, considering I have explained to you now, go ahead and challenge the post and not the English  grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 11:13pm On Sep 30, 2007
@debosky, can you tell me what @ritchboi is talking about? grin

debosky:
there are undoubtedly many juvenile fans here who are both highly excitable as well as being neophytes in football issues.

those fair weather fans will jump on the nearest successful bandwagon each week as the wind changes direction.

I can't wait to see what will happen by the end of the season, or at least mid-March to make any predictions.
Correct!

@ritchboi

Question:

Following the statistics for Arsenal's first 7 games in the last 3 seasons;

2004-2005 Unbeaten in 7 and ended up second
2005-2006 Unbeaten in 5 and lost 2 ended up fourth
2006-2007 Unbeaten in 6 and lost 1 ended up fourth

What makes you guys so happy and feel this year is any different?

Afterall, the stats show your world begins to crumble as the league goes further. This is when you guys should be praying and not celebrating

You can come up with any defense asking me, what has Chelsea done compared to their last 3 seasons? Agreed, I have accepted the fact that the season is not starting good and may not end up good for us, but have you accepted the reality that you might just make it a treble and end up fourth again?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 10:41pm On Sep 30, 2007
@debosky thank you for that valid point.

This is what I have been saying since, that even as things stand, it is too early to say anything because anything can happen.

But now, here, you are talking very different than most. Some have concluded that Arsenal have won the league already with what is on ground. Perhaps those are the yesterday fans who just keep jumping from team to team depending on who's leading?  grin

Oh and before I forget, some are also here trying to turn the English statement to another meaning just to avoid the question  grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 10:37pm On Sep 30, 2007
@daftritchboi

Pls point out to me where I said unbeaten in 1st 6 games? This is what I said slowpoke :

medube:
2004-2005 Unbeaten in 7 and ended up second
2005-2006 Unbeaten in 5 and lost 2 ended up fourth
2006-2007 Unbeaten in 6 and lost 1 ended up fourth
So who's spewing garbage? If you dont have a valid point to argue, save us the pages and shut up!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 10:19pm On Sep 30, 2007
@stupidritchboy

un·beat·en (n-btn)
adj.
1. Not defeated: an unbeaten football team.
2. Not traversed before; untrodden: an unbeaten path through jungle growth.
3. Not beaten or pounded, as in cooking: unbeaten eggs.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/unbeaten

So what is your query with the statement? Were Arsenal defeated in those 5 / 6 matches out of the first 7 played in those seasons?

Or are you going to throw the question aside and attack me on grammar?  grin

do u no d meanin of 'unbeaten' at all?Go bak n read what u wrote n c what i'm talkin about.How can a team b 'unbeaten' in 5 games when they lost 2 of those games?

imo man you're stil d favrites,folowed by arsenal,n d bookies agree wid me.this arsenal team stil hav sumn 2 proove,unlike man u,but before u come al ova yourself hope u no that kud easily work 2 our advantage.
If your phone screen wasn't too small to read, I would have blamed you, but I think it is the cause of most of your disabilities on the forum.

Please tell me what is the meaning of unbeaten? grin

And if you put your your stupidity aside for 1 minute and read, you will notice i didn't say 'went unbeaten'?

Read between the lines . . . . . .ARSENAL will fall when WINTER kicks in plus some of em are going to AFRICA for 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! tongue tongue tongue
Who is Man Utd sending to Africa? Paul Scholes? Wayne Rooney? . . . . . .awwwwww, maybe Carlos Tevez!!!!!
This is what I have been telling a lot. Man U's advantage will come up in January because out of the top 4, they have no African footballer who will go for CAN 2008 in Ghana.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:51pm On Sep 30, 2007
@ritchboi are you balanced at all or know how to read? I am referring to first 7 matches  grin

In 2005-2006 Arsenal won 5 matches and lost 2 (Chelsea 1 - 0 Arsenal and Boro 2 - Arsenal 1)
And in 2006-2007 Arsenal were unbeaten in 6 (Won 4, Draw 2 and Loss 1 (Man City))

So what are you saying was wrong with the question? Are you contesting or acepting it because we are basically saying the same thing?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:20pm On Sep 30, 2007
@Jackal thank you. I was just wondering why all the erections this season? It's probably because Chelsea and Manchester United are having a bad run, they believe this year might be different  grin. They tend to forget there is still 30 games or 31 in their case and this is where "Things Fall Apart"  cheesy

Manchester City is another team to really watch out for this season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 8:52pm On Sep 29, 2007
I haven't really seen any flare in the play yet. At Chelsea agreed we are really going through some rough time beyond doubt, but still we have seen some teams really shake the other top 3 at various times. Its either, the top 4 are yet to kick off fully or the other teams this season are not going to sit and get run over easily.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 8:41pm On Sep 29, 2007
I really don't see any of the 4 English clubs in the Champion's Leagus making an impact this season in the tournament.

I would rather leave football and start following Golf than support any other club apart from Chelsea. Sorry my sister I don't wish I was a gunner. I had 13 years prior to Jose Mourinho to have any wishes and i didn't, so I won't start now because of a shaky beginning smiley One thing we all have to admit, is this season they are a lot of teams who are not going to just sit down and watch the big boys run over them grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by medube(m): 7:34pm On Sep 29, 2007
These are indeed very rough times and for some reason or the other it keeps getting worse after every match on and off the field, I hope things change for the better. This is the worst start to the premiership since Vialli took over from Gullit. I hope they all come together, get their heads straight and forge on. Another thing is our supporters in the stadiums during match days are not making things any easier for Grant and the players. Jose Mourinho has gone and is not coming back, we have to put this behind us and move on  undecided Anyways, it will be well.

By the way after todays matches, I honestly don't see any English team out of the big 4 in the Champions League, making an impact this season.

Perhaps thats why you believe others are like you   undecided tongue
