anietiejoh: An attempt by miscreants who were formerly members of the state House of Assembly had been foiled. The illegal invasion by five sacked lawmakers was aided by some security agents and thugs, who chased out staff of the House of Assembly.
However the arrival of the Speaker of the Assembly Onofiok Luke, who was accompanied by 20 other members marked a tragic end of the comedy.
On sighting the arrival of the lawmakers, the impostors scampered out of the complex.
The 21 lawmakers have now taken their seats and the proceedings is about to commence.
The clerk of the House Mrs Mandu Umoren and other staff are now seated in the chambers.
The Chief Security Officer of the state, His Excellency Gov Udom Emmanuel arrived the complex and had a private meeting with the speaker in the Speaker's office. Proceeding now in progress This happened almost an hour ago. Funny how they scampered when Onofiok came. Miscreants constituting a nuisance to a peaceful state. |

Kaybis2: Don't comment on issues you know little or nothing about. Akwa Ibom international airport was conceptionalized and established by Attah. He constructed the over 15km of road that lead to the airport. The idea was for the airport to be the first in west africa with a MRO hanger so he sent about 50 akwa ibomite to aviation school in florida and paid all their bills. He did the perimeter fence and before he left the whole contract sum was paid. Enters Akpabio. He rewarded the contract to over 5x the original sum to another company. Built a run way and other buildings in the airport and ofcourse, a plane landed in his tenure. So the airport and other project should rightly be named after Attah. Don't forget Le Meridien and Golf resort, the so called 4 and 2 lanes. And he brought Econet to the state too. He started the reorientation campaign against Akwa Ibomites being seen as househelps and sponsored a lot of the state youth abroad for technical trainings. Akpabio and his minions laid claim to all of Attah's project through running media commentaries. In the beginning folks objected but with time, most people developed selective amnesia. Truth is every project Akpabio completed or embarked upon aside those in the core Annang zones were already in the blueprint Attah marked out for the state. Attah had a running battle with Obasanjo on resource control and funds were even withheld from the state for a while. Outsiders don't know these yet they will be abusing Attah, a man who is the more visionary leader compared to a lot of his colleagues. |

sacramento1212: Obong Attah caused some of these problems. From bringing his in-law to be the flag bearer that time for the party which majority kicked against which further paved way for Akpabio that happens to be the problem of the state.
The same Akpabio that never regarded Obong Attah from day 1 and further caused enemity between the annangs and ibibios. An average ibibio doesn't want to see eye to eye with the annags. It was so before but it's now in top gear.
Like you indicated, the problem is lack of unity between the ibibios because i don't see why 1 man will be causing problem left, right and centre in the state. Even under Udom's cabinet, some ibibios are still betraying him.
How i wish umana is still in PDP, that's one person Udom should pally with to teach him how to be rugged in politics and not this style of governance. You are right, who Akpabio is today, Umana taught him but like the snake, Akpabio flipped and dealt with Umana. Rugged guys full ground but Udom has to swallow his pride, meet them and ask for help. As for Attah, Akpabio and his son in law's case, that one na long tory |

I'm not on ground so i wouldn't know the position of things. Therein lies the mistake of Obong Attah. For fairness and equity, he decided to zone the governorship slot in the state, now see the result? From all indication, the state is hot and will be hotter. My fear now is the spate of political killings and kidnappings that will soon follow. The Ibibios are wise yet they are always in disunity. I wish they can unite and see this through. One man cannot cage a dominant tribe just like that. |

Am wondering though why you did that? was his quietness affecting your marriage or was it boring the relationship. It wasn't, I was quite comfortable with it. I observed folks who had conversations with him always ended up looking embarrassed because you will be lucky of he answers at all. So in a 15min discussion, one could end up with just an OK from him. Funny thing is he has it in him to be extremely sociable, he just preferred being reticent. |

Frenchkiss: I don't think so. She's very carrier driven and has succinctly declared her intention repeatedly not to have a child until her early or mid thirties, when she must have clearly forged a clear path for herself in her carrier. I think she's beginning to want much more or something different or both. It's like we're slowly becoming more different people than we used to be. We used to be quite compatible emotionally and physically but recently things have begun to spiral downwards. Even though she doesn't seem irritated by my touch or something like that, I can feel her slowly pulling away from me emotionally. Things are becoming off between us, the manifestation of which is taking a toll on our sex life, like what's between us is no more than just physical. If you say so, but I know that if someone is pulling away even psychologically from you, it wouldn't result in increase sex demand. Maybe, just maybe she is trying to reignite a dead spark and she thinks sex is the way to go. |

I think she wants to get pregnant for you. Four years in a relationship and she is trying to change the direction to something permanent since you are not initiating that convo.
She'll go at it until she tests positive. I don't think she is cheating, if she was cheating, she would be emotionally distant from you and your touch would irritate her than excite her.
Yep!. She wan carry belle. |

The secret in marriage is to find a middle ground. You can't always be quiet all the time nor be a talkative too. Her extreme quietness is a misrepresentation which others will not understand. They may feel she is too proud or that they are unimportant. She should make a conscious effort to be friendly, to talk and to look interested in what others have to say. I had to practically drag the social side of my husband out of him. |

TonyeBarcanista: Senator Akpabio, Nsima Ekere Idongesit Ituen Thugs Move to Breach Peace at AKHA
Emerging scenes from the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly show that a former member of the Assembly, who was recently ostracized by the Federal High Court, Idongesit Ituen, acting in consonance with his mentor Senator Godswill Akpabio, has mobilized thugs to foment crises, by hindering movement into the state assembly complex.
They are allegedly armed and are wielding dangerous weapons they burn tyres and disrupt regular movement into the assembly complex.
Eye witness report that the thugs were heard charging loudly that without Idongesit Ituen, no one else can enter the complex.
Earlier today, the State Chapter of the PDP had issued a statement, based on intelligence report, that there were plans by the APC to use thugs and cause a breach of peace, thereby stalling proceedings at the chambers.
Gov Udom Emmanuel on his part has repeatedly warned politicians against violence, maintaining that nothing short of peace and unity is needed to move Akwa Ibom forward, irrespective of political affiliations or aspirations.
It would be recalled that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke had last week acted in accordance with the judgement of the Federal High Court, which vacated the seat of the former Itu Assemblyman for cross carpeting to another political party without any tangible reason.
Some anti riot policemen who arrived the scene moments ago, are yet to bring the situation under control. You and Akwa Ibom news. Are you residing in the state? To the topic, I knew Idong Ituen will not take this lying down but his problem should be with the courts and not the State House of Assembly. I see Akpabio's imprint all over. We are gradually sliding back to the era of political kidnappings and killings if Udom doesn't act now. |
