Politics / Re: Nigeria May Lose 24 Local Councils To UNO, New UN State By July 10 by megareal: 8:19am On Jun 05, 2020
I do not know what to term this development. I think it is welcome as Southern Cameroon will finally have their country. But those in Nigeria will buck at being separated. It may be very advantageous to the new state if they can get their leadership right from inception .i.e if foreign powers will allow them to have complete autonomy.

lol @ the bible quote.

I read somewhere yesterday where he mentioned that it was all a joke and he created the thread due to boredom. Indeed makes me want to give him a slap to reset his brain.

It's one of 2 things. Either the insults made him lie that it was a joke or it was actually a very silly and unwarranted joke.

Here are the quotes.

Either of the two scenarios is believable. I had doubts as to the veracity of the story. Either way, this will reset his brain, and he will borrow some sense from his betters. grin

Actually, Nigeria never recovered fully from the devastating economic disaster Buhari inflicted on this country in 1984.

The damage he did to our local industries were never fully recovered until Obasanjo/Yaradua/Jonathan under whose government investors started trickling back but no where near what we had before Buhari committed high treason in 1984.

Some people are celebrating Shoprite and Spar but don't know we had Leventis and Kingsway back then which folded up almost immediately Buhari seized power.

Everything this damn man touches turns up dead. We will be lucky if Nigeria isn't completely sold out to the Chinese at the end of Buhari's tenure.

Studies show married men are happier and live longer than their single/divorced/widowed counterparts. Single/Widowed/Divorced men are more depressed and suicidal than their married counterparts.

On the other hand, studies show that Single women live longer than their married counterparts, they also retain their figures and beauty longer than their married counterparts.

These studies show that the main benefactors of marriage is the Men. Make of that what you want!!!
My sister, from the experiences around me, the men benefit more than women in marriage. It was this imbalance in equation that made me decide not to marry when I was a kid.

Romance / Re: My Encounter With A Highly Intelligent Girl. by megareal: 7:33am On May 21, 2020
Ariza:
I was expecting someone to make this a Nigerian Women thing and you didn't disappoint. The question is are Nigerian Men any different? How many can engage in brain stimulating conversations? How many can vividly separate platonic friendships from sexual relationships? How many value Intelligence over physical appearances?. If it isn't about sex, conversations hardly happen.

This thread is evidence enough to conclude that only few Nigerian Men can do any of those questions asked. On the same thread, a guy helped a girl to get into her skirt, A guy met an intelligent lady he could have kept as Friend but still insist on "putting hand in her hole" On this same thread a Guy ridiculed intelligent ladies saying they are mostly ugly and masculine. Such backward thinking!

Thing is: Nigerian men only have what they encourage. They place more importance on fine face, boobs, and bum and flashy things when it comes to choosing ladies, so why should a woman work on her brains when she will only be overlooked and termed Boring and Ugly. Why will a woman feel encouraged to expand her horizon when she will only end "in the kitchen and bed".

Lol yet these confused bunch are always the first to scream and wail that Nigerian Women are unintelligent or can't hold conversations... Men that hardly have something upstairs themselves. So laughable! grin grin grin grin grin
This is too buried within this thread. Can you please open another thread on this? Most of the men here need to read this and understand how their farts smell, that is if they will even understand the message. undecided

None of them should move. They both are comfortable enough to take the occasional flight to see each other at their locations. Since the male ego will not let him reason that banking job can vamoose in a second, it's best they maintain their jobs until both can pull resources together to start a lucrative business.

But under no circumstance should the lady quit her job.

I doubt the veracity of this story though. undecided

Start now to draw the line o. The best thing to do is sponsor them to acquire a skill that will bring them a steady stream of income. As you do, tell each person that you have settled them for life, they shouldn't bug you with financial problems again. Please ensure to do this before you get married else it will be war between them and your wife as they will believe she is the one that influenced you to change towards them.

Chai. I feel for her. It's funny that 80% of Nigerian married men can never buy a property in the wife's name, but you see a very large percentage of Nigerian wives put their husband 's name in properties bought by them despite stories like this. Begs the question, are Nigerian women morons when it comes to love, marriage and family?

LMAO, so because I told him to give less to his siblings and build up himself that's means I have been trying to create wedge between him and his family ?
As for my saving whether it is imaginary or not, it is none of your business.
You are no different from his siblings, it is your type that would suck his rich family member dry and see his wife as an enemy that has come to drive a wedge between you.
You shouldn't have bothered to reply to him. His head is not screwed on right. That's the average Nigerian sibling for you, believing every woman is coming to 'separate' their brother from them if you try to curtail some of their excesses.. They never mean well for their brother. Their intent is only to suck him dry and discard him.

Whatever you do, buy that land and ensure it is in a name no one will drag it with you. Cut down your expenses and place more demands. Let some things like electricity bills and school fees remain unattended to and give the school his direct line to call and harass him when he fails to pay. You took on too much load and he doesn't feel the heat coming from his own home. Save as much as you can because you are OYO as things stand right now. I have witnessed this countless times, after sacrificing all you have, his people will still try to lay claim to the glory of your labor in the future.

Women do not always like it when their spouses give other people money, the 5000 or 10000 your husband gives his siblings is not the cause of his lack of investments.

There are lots of other ways your husband can cut cost but you are fixated on him not giving his family. Expunge that idea from your mind, it will always be seen as trying to put a wedge between him and his family.

If truly your husband is irresponsible with his money, love him through it and one day he will come to realization, if you can’t do that leave the marriage. You are already solely taking care of your immediate family, I’m sure you won’t miss him anyway?
They never ever come to the realization. I have four cases I have witnessed growing up over the years. Till date, those men are still taking care of their siblings who all are in their sixties with grandchildren.

Need I add that the children in these homes hate their fathers like kilode.

One even went as far as burying his brother and wife the same year, meanwhile this dead brother has two children working in major oil companies while the third one is an IT guru in a company in the US. Meaning they are all financially stable. Funny thing is, none of them has ever given this Father Christmas Uncle not the sufferhead cousins N5 for anything despite their monies.

The women in these marriages have aged faster than their mates, always borrowing to run the home and now even though they live with the so called husbands, they are totally oblivious of their presence. I guess, this is the definition of a successful marriage in Nigeria. undecided

She is disappointed at you for something. You need to find out what it is. Also, do not fail to factor in pregnancy hormones on the sex issue, except this started way before that. But it's too early to quit. Marriage no be beans, you have to work at it. Give it all you have got before deciding to throw in the towel.

Hunger is not the cause of it. He is being paid for his services. He is a thief. Most Nigerian home workers are like that. No matter how well you pay them, they will steal half your food and items to their homes at the end of the day. I have encountered some of them.

So the trend now in Nairaland is to open a thread, demean and bash women. Insult them and downgrade them to the worst level and earn some silly likes that will not translate to money.

I really wonder: what did women really do to men on Nairaland? Because in the real world, it's a very different ballgame.
