PoliticsRe: Herdsmen: Group Protests In Abuja, Calls For Immediate Arrest Of Ortom, Ishiaku by melejo(m): 5:30pm On Jan 25, 2018
owukpa:
Protesters numbering over 500, Thursday, shutdown the capital city of Abuja, in protest of the protracted clashes between farmers and herdsmen, which have resulted to deaths of many Nigerians in Benue, Taraba States and others parts of the country.

The group, under the aegis of Good Governance and Transparency Initiative  is calling on the Nigerian government as well international community to urgently wade into the foot-dragging crises, which have rendered many citizens homeless and bereaved.

The protesters, who were seen displaying placards, bearing various inscriptions, called for the urgent probe of governors Samuel Ortom of Benue and Darius Ishaku of Taraba States over their involvement in the attacks.

Speaking on behalf of the group,  Mrs. Jaiyeola Mohammed, the Executive Director, said the attitudes of Ortom and Ishiaku speak volume, a clear case of hand of Esau but voice of Jacob.

Mohammed alleged that Ortom, especially has using the state's resources to cover up his mess by sponsoring protests abroad.

She voiced the stand of the group thus, "Our bigger worry, however, is the inaction that has continued to allow attention to focus on the wrong sources of the crisis. There is so much of playing the ostrich going on while the crisis festers. Our thoughts are that the problem in Benue state would have been contained to that geographical entity and promptly dealt with to save other states from suffering the fallout of a politically and ethnically motivated crisis.

" A killing related to the crisis in Benue has been reported in Ekiti while Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau and even Kaduna are practically on edge because of what has happened in that state.

"It is most unfortunate that instead of accepting reality and admitting what he did wrong to provoke the current crisis, Governor Ortom has rather engaged in looking at the cause of the problem in every other place except within himself.

"This is despite the barrage of documentary evidence of him setting up militias and placing firearms in their arms to kill herdsmen. He is yet to explain what he stands to gain from the deaths of Benue people that he knew would definitely result from reprisals from the activities of his militias.

"The Benue state governor has even taken things a step further by deploying N1 billion of his state's fund to finance protests in major cities of the world as we earlier alerted. Not even the shame of being discovered as manipulating events was enough to dissuade this governor from this folly. Our concern is how a state governor could spend so much of his state's resources on just eight (cool protesters in the United States. We then wonder how much he has spent on the hundreds of militias he has organized and how much he has expended on their weapons.

"Our group is interested in the peaceful resolution of the conflict between herdsmen and farmers, which is why we are staging this protest to demand a full investigation of the roles of the Governor of Benue State, Mr. Samuel Ortom and his Taraba state counterpart, Mr. Darius Dickson Ishiaku in sponsoring ethnic militias to wipe out people of Fulani origin.

" Only such investigation would reveal facts that will prevent a full descent into state sponsored ethnic cleansing that has repercussions for all ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.

"The investigation should include terms of reference that will yield recommendations in pursuit of identifying militia members and recovering the weapons reportedly issued to them by these governors or their agents."

RomanceRe: Which Gender Will Be Worst Affected By Widespread Adoption Of Sex Robot? by melejo(m): 11:44pm On Jan 17, 2018
MissWrite:
Women can't detach themselves emotionally from sex? I don't know if that's entirely true. I know you want to maintain this romanticized image of women but here's something which I do not say proudly, only truly: Some women have been doing so professionally for years. And some women can cheat with the driver or gate man for the sole purpose of sex; and they choose these people who are perceivably beneath their social class not just for proximity, but because there's no risk of falling in love. While men always end up catching feelings for their secretaries, house-helps or even a prostitute. (Like in Bridget Jones' Diary, Sound of Music, Pretty Woman); no woman is beneath a guy when it comes to romance. Whereas a woman would seriously be second guessing herself if she starts getting dreamy eyed with the mechanic in view; it doesn't matter how attractive he is in reality. Also, some women can bang their rich husbands for years so he keeps paying for their stuff, without ever falling in love with him.

Women can do sex very nicely with gadgets. Have you not heard how the cucumber has suffered under the lasciviousness of some women? African women in particular, can really let their hair down with a dil.do. Unlike with a man. Some! This is because, in a lot of areas still, African women are judged for being too sexually expressive. So, in most cases, all they can do is pray that he knows what he is doing. She may not woman-up to tell him what she wants, so that he doesn't label her an olosho. Enter dil.do, problem solved. And she'll make it go how she wants it to go.

For me though, I doubt that the sex doll holds much of an appeal. It's too bulky; and only one appendage is really needed. Plus I don't want to have to stare into those lifeless eyes without a soul. After applying pressure to the necessary pleasure points, the rest happens in the head for me. I can be anywhere, with anyone doing whatever thing. So the dil.do is sufficient. It would get the job done.

That's a fleshlight. It hasn't been very popular all the while. I am really curious to see how this one plays out, because I believe men have an ego that a life-less thing cannot satisfy. Knowing that the moan is programmed and mechanized; and not a real feed-back undecided. Unless it's like a karaoke machine that gives you points (moaning sounds) as you hit the notes. Then it could be a fun game. Pa! Pa! 60%.......Pa! Pa! Pa!........80%.....Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!..........speaking in tongues.....that kind of thing. It'll get predictable after a while though.

True. More women would have to work. But that's a good thing for everyone. Especially the women in question.

I've not met those guys you are referring to; the ones that don't like attention. The ones I end up with always want to be cuddled, and kissed and get back rubs - babies! Well, the purpose of a sex doll is clear. None of that for anyone. But girls get attention from their girls, while guys are insecure about man/man bonding.

Women don't need to flaunt their toys. Nobody does. They only need the gadgets in the bedroom, where they can be used as freely as one would like (a dil.do is travel size anyway). Or are men planning to take their sex dolls out on dates? Or have public sex? Remember you're treading a thin line between sanity and mental instability here. If you get too attached to the thing, you'll start hearing voices
How I love your argument! You're highly intelligent and logical

The question I keep asking is, does FFK have more love for the people of Benue state than he does the people of Rivers?

CHRISTIANS observing their Cross Over were brutally massacred in their numbers just four days ago in Rivers state. It made news headlines everywhere. FFK, we know, appears to have appointed himself the spokesman for Christians and Southerners : WHY HASN'T HE COMMENTED ON THE MASSACRE OF THOSE INNOCENT CHRISTIANS IN RIVERS STATE?
.
The Benue people can take care of themselves and don't need elements like FFK or his league of dishevelled hate mongers to nudge them in the right direction. They should keep their stupid politics to themselves while we mourn quietly.

Foolish gargoyle.
Since Fani Kayode didn't condemn River's killing you should have done that. Aren't you a Nigerian too?

Who has this pikin? So Nigeria started importing fuel 16years ago?

Only the insane people laments over normal expectations.

8 dead persons out of over a thousand people, appointed about 2 years ago, awaiting list approval.

Is it not more efficient to replace 8 dead persons thereafter, than to be searching for the dead in a very long list of appointments?

The fact is that as at the time of drawing up the list, those now dead were still very much alive!

I am not surprised, many Nigerians reason with their anus.

This is one rare scenario, where the majority are stupid!!!!!

To say the I'm disappointed in the ibos that turned this case into a tribal affair is to say the least.
I learnt that Innosson MD operated fatter accounts with both Fidelity and Diamond banks owned by Ibos in 2009 when he was seeking for loan but they did not believe in his dream. They would rather lend their money to fuel importers.
GTB took a risk and borrow this ingrate and unfaithful man called Innocent Chukwuma the money he needed and look at where we are today.
Why didn't this man turn against his tribesmen when they refused to lend him money for his business?
The man forged a document to clear his goods when he had not paid GTB but GTB was magnanimous with him and his business even after innoson confessed to the SFU (Special Fraud Unit) he forged the documents.
Unreasonable fellows are calling for their people to close their accounts in GTB. Whao!!
GTB makes over 76% of their profit from just top 150 customers. Some of the e-rats calling for boycott of GTB are actually burden on the bank.
Have the senseless tribalist thought of if GTB decides to sack their brothers and sisters working in the bank?
Innoson is doing well by setting up a manufacturing company in Nigeria but so also is GTB that is lending home grown companies money.
Innoson shot himself in the foot by turning the whole thing to a tribal affair.
His people are all over Abuja and Lagos with caps in hands pleading for soft landing buts its too late.
Your case is actually in critical condition. Bank don't lend money based on sentiment. It is business he deed with gtb not favour, stop being little

If the Sango worshipers want to fight for their right. It has got nothing to do with us. They can do as they please. Good luck.to them. Practicing the religion appropriately is what matters.

Verse (24:31) - Translation
“...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms...

What is the meaning of “khumur” used in this verse?
Khumur خُمُرٌ is plural of khimarخِمَارٌ , the veil covering the head.

Al-Munjid, which is the most popular dictionary in the Arab world, defines al-khimar as “something with which a woman conceals her head —ما تغطى به المرأة رأسها .” Fakhru ’d-Din al-Turayhi in Majma‘u ’l-Bahrayn (which is a dictionary of Qur’anic and hadith terms) defines al-khimar as “scarf, and it is known as such because the head is covered with it.

So the word khimar, by definition, means a piece of cloth that covers the head.

Then what does the clause “placing the khumur over the bosoms” mean?
According to the commentators of the Qur’an, the women of Medina in the pre-Islamic era used to put their khumur over the head with the two ends tucked behind and tied at the back of the neck, in the process exposing their ears and neck. By saying that, “place the khumur over the bosoms,” Almighty Allah ordered the women to let the two ends of their headgear extend onto their bosoms so that they conceal their ears, the neck, and the upper part of the bosom also
Not display their beauty? I can see the girl is toooooo beautiful

The level of suspicion amongst peoples of different religions, particularly Christians and Moslems is just out of all proportion.

Tolerance has to be given a chance.

From the picture I saw, the so-called veil did not cover the face of the lady that was denied a call to the bar.

It should be possible to accommodate such simple attire for call to bar ceremony. We see women wear this in offices, on the streets, in schools etc

Yes, the rules are the rules, but the body in charge of setting the rules should consider allowing a simple veil. Obviously, the type that covers the full face is a different thing entirely.
