MizMyColi:I have been using my Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 from 2013 till now. No single fault or issue till date |

Who hosts a serious business with a Nigerian host? |
vibram:May God punish you for this. uncouth fellow. |
ehissi:It is well even inside well bro ![]() |
ehissi:Thanks for the mention bro, I personally do not have a personal issue with cityhood sir, if he'd picked up, I'd told him how time heals all wounds and that I've moved on. Since he neither picked nor returned my call or offered any solution, A friend dropped off the cartoon at a Mechanic's place in Zaira, Kaduna. In essence, I have counted my losses and making arrangements for a car (and not a scrab). Once this is completed, I'll either ask the young man to "fix to a taste" and dispose it at a fair amount or help me send it down to Mbguka Obosi for quick disposal |
ehissi:He neither picked my call nor offered any solution, so a friend dropped off the cartoon at a Mechanic's place in Zaira, Kaduna. As said already, I have counted my losses and making arrangements for a car (and not a scrab). Once this is completed, I'll either ask the young man to dispose it at any amount or help me send it down to Mbguka Obosi for quick disposal |
dirtymoney:This post appears promotional for real. Your case with the infinix phone and jumia experience is quite different from what's reported here. Out of 500 products produced by a reputable company, 4 to 5 of them could be bad, hence the provision of re-call and after sales support. The problem you noticed within few days from the phone can be remedied by returning same to Jumia or by visiting Infinix experience store for warranty claims. For these users to report here means that they have been shopping online long enough. The issue here is outright deceit and fraudulent practices by cityhood. Lying about products to sale them at ridiculous prices. If anyone wants a scrap, they can get many of them in mechanic shops scattered all over the country. I think he'll be able to learn the importance of disclosure in his future transactions. He never showed up, even if it's to use the wack 'English that could sell stuff, but not resolve user's complaints'. No body would complain about the English, it's not our mother's tongue anyways. |
tjay01:This is obviously a fake review created by one of his cronies |
Mimzyy:Thanks for the advice. I'm happy that someone else is saved from getting scammed by him Mam. |
gly2ken:That's where full disclosure comes in bro. The buyer should know what he's buying, that way- you differentiate yourself from fraudsters and deceivers. |
Topgainer:At the first high-lighted sir, it's non of my fault because I pleaded they go back with this box the day they brought it so I can start talking about options later on but he promised to re-list and get me back my money but delayed until the point he asked me to bring it over for immediate sale. At the second point sir, that point is pointless. Any human with a sound medulla oblongata and working celebral would know that 'the hundreds of thousands that would be spent" on fixing this box whose life in Nigeria started by 'change from right-hand to left-hand drive' by who-knows-who and the thousands that would be spent on visiting the mechanic twice-a-week would be rather saved for a sane car that really works. Finally, the shots below has proven that the young man in question is not new to the business of fraud. He must have scammed more persons than these. https://i68.tinypic.com/2cylme0.png https://i65.tinypic.com/288cwso.pnghttps://i63.tinypic.com/9ut6pc.pnghttps://i68.tinypic.com/2rpqhyc.png To round it up sir, I have taken some positives in the turn out of this saga, more Nigerians can now take due diligence when planning to deal with his type. My moving on means that, I have no more discussion with cityhood and would not have any reasons to contact him again. He even went petty by stealing the most useless parts of the box I brought back for him to get back some change. Thanks for your commendable contribution in this thought-provoking saga. |
musco4me:I doubt that his story is going to be different from this |
freeman67:You are very smart with your observation sir. The thief called cityhood was SERVED but never FIXED! He has a friend up-to the rank of a military colonel that's he's on-about since the day our deal went awry. My only sin is trusting a man whose biggest enemies are; fidelity, nobility and honesty. Trust me sir, had it been this man called cityhood 'shouted at me' or presented himself as a trouble-maker the day I got this carton from him ba, we would have been on another story AL-together. No one (there) sees my defense as rational, as they never found it logical for someone to keep a bad product for a day, let alone - weeks and month. They never understood the issue of nairaland and that his products are marketed online, and not like I went to his shop to rap up the deal with him. They also never believed the part that he assured me I was going to get back my money in days as selling Toyota products is never a problem to him. As seen on the chat 'from the day after the poo was delivered, he promised to re-list this vehicle and get back the money, but they didn't see reasons from this angle. he's mastered his scamming business and simply told them I was enjoying the car for months and only came up with lies because I wanted to upgrade. In his defense, he opined that "NO SANE MAN WOULD TRANSPORT A VEHICLE FROM NORTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF GETTING A FEEDBACK FROM THE SUPPOSED BUYER" they found his defense reasonable enough as there was no written agreement on return. |
olarinre63:Why this stupid and senseless insinuation bro? Where in this world is getting money easy? The man called cityhood is one whose relationship with truth and honesty is 100% parallel. And again stop assuming I'm gullible, the most valuable assets in my possession were bought from sane websites. In fact, I have once received a 95% up-front payment for networking an Estate far away portharcourt without any physical negotiation, someone recommended my service and that was it. Ask any IT guy around you, they do most shopping based on reviews (irrespective of online or offline). The reviews here was what misled me. But then, some of my audio conversation with cityhood is recorded, same as other means of communication and would come in handy in future. Or do you know what can prompt a military officer leave Abuja all the way to zaira for this meager transaction? Cityhood has mastered the act of scamming and convincingly lied to the panel of military officer and military police personnel that I was over-joyed with the vehicle, enjoyed it for months and only begged him to help me sale it so I can upgrade to a direct toks Lexus 350. When they probed him further, he said - there was no agreement written, that I was just lying. That the vehicle can stay as much as possible in his care until it's sold and that I was even supposed to pay him for using his car stand to market my property. Enough of the stories already, I moved on because I wouldn't want all of us to dwell on this for so long. Other options will not provide a quick solution and patient dialogue never did. So what would you have done next, my never gullible friend? |
slimmoney:The friend of mine in question are military officers (worked with them in Bonny JTF operations), but cityhood won by lying to them that I was happy with the car and was flexing it for the past two months. That I knelt down to plead with him to help me sell it so I can upgrade, that he was even supposed to charge me for parking it in his car stand. The most annoying part is that he told them that it was on his expenses that another driver came to pick up the lemon and to crown it all, there was no solid physical agreement written. The man in question has obviously mastered the act of Scamming! My friends blamed me for waiting this long and couldn't understand what I was trying to explain to them that Oga cityhood hoodwinked me by promising that he'll re-list it and get me back the money. When I now looked at the threads where he's re-listing the car, he placed a ridiculous amount on it. How can you sale this lemon at those price? How I wish my friends understood this deal like nairalanders have done, there would have been a solid resolve already. So there was no option left than to move on. |
TheMadame:We tried exploring this option but there are no vehicles in his stand. He brings a car to the stand, take a picture and drop it back to their owners. What we could find were only accident-ed craps and loads of keke-napep. I have spent almost 1/2 the amount I bought this lemon in logistics and other trial and error attempts. And wanted oga cityhood to just bring any solution at-all (willing to give him real money for Toks, provided he'll deduct the price of this from it) up-to the point of asking him to sell it to any other dealer at any price at all for me to get something, but to no avail. So what more? I moved on because my mind can now focus on important things and I can walk into reputable outlets to get something that's worth it. Thanks for all the sane contribution from N/Ds |
OPUSDEI1:Sir, I'm highly grateful for your submission. when I saw that the money was never going to come out soon, I started exploring the possibility of fixing this vehicle completely, up-to brain-box change, gear-pump change and lots more but figured it is never going to work. I never bad-mouthed him for once 'cos I believed I was dealing with a honest dude. Even when I letter called you to guide me buy a direct toks of corrola sir, I kept it on pending to see if Cityhood will at least commit some money so I'll know he's willing to pay even it's going to take some time. I don't want a situation where I'll go buy something good and he comes up with the option of picking a vehicle from his shop (as most dealers do) instead of my money. So he practically kept me on a stand-still until I pleaded with my friend to go meet him in person. We've move on already sir. So I can now forge ahead already. Thanks again big boss |
cityhood:Will you stop the lies already? I wasn't the one on steering, my eldest brother was, the police was seated right beside me at the rear and asked that I call the person that sold the stolen vehicle without complete papers. That was my reason for calling you. His boss asked me to cut the call when you started talking about "me picking the car from where you asked me to paint it and other rhetoric. They even pitied us when they saw the date of purchase and how the Fan (radiator) wasn't turning at all. They advised us to stop patronizing fraudulent dealers and collected their normal I literally wanted an escape route and could have taken anything Toks, but you weren't proffering another solution other than asking me to wait until the re-list is completed. |
prinsbasy:I accept the blame, but its called trust bro. I have been shopping online from reputable brands without issues. In fact, I have handled supplies of huge IT equipment for companies without seeing them in person. So I virtually shop online based on reviews. He promised to re-list it before I can get back some percentage of my money. So I was waiting for some positives until this final meeting. |
tempex88:I have moved as you can see from my post. The car is useless to me and can be useful to dealers like cityhood and mechanics. trust me, the vehicle was crap. I didn't touch it before asking the mechanic that brought it to take it back. The glasses can not whyne, roof leaking and everything you could think about bad. I got to know of the various leakages (on gear and power steering) after he insisted he must re-list b4 he can balance me. I have moved on. |
cityhood:Was delivered by a mechanic to another mechanic workshop. He was obviously stressed up, hence the breaking of mirrors and submerging of this mole on various level of mud. You'll pee on sighting this from far. Another battery must have been used to start the vehicle b4 delivery At the second, Oga gazzuzz recommended me a top-notched modern auto-mech that did proper scan and figured - you constructed the engine base to fit in another engine that isn't for a high-lander. This was after I have waited and was almost loosing hope on getting back my money. I spent more than 200k again to see if these problems are fixable so i can move on, but we couldn't figure what engine was there. So I called you to tell the mechanic what type of engine that you guys constructed in there, but you had no answer. You even told me that someone else have asked you if the fake (duplicate) key on it was causing the hard-starting. With all these, I really thought you were willing to help not until this carton got there and you started removing the parts in bits. This is a fraudulent act, trust me on this sir, you are a good sweet-talker. You made me believe all your lies and spent so much time when I could have searched for solution elsewhere. |
cityhood:I understand your usual time-buying technics sir. I told you to give me something better with a higher amount instead of the obviously life-tired car of over 200k mileage. You assured me that this vehicle was in shape, that you are only offering me the dis-counted price because I am buying from nairaland. You delivered a 2004 model you lied was 2005 and I told you I have the money to pay for a car and not this carton but you were never interested in bringing a car to collect the carton. But assured me you were going to re-list it and refund me. If the car was in shape, you wouldn't have known that I 'must hit the throttle pedal like so many times' before the car will start and also that when it goes off, I must pump the break multiple time and those medieval theories for a supposed modern SUV. Concerning your lies (as you are already an expert in lying) high-lighted in this quote. I wasn't the one driving the car the day the police held it. My eldest brother was and scolded me on how I got such a crap. The police was with me throughout the phone call. The phone was on speaker when you lied to him that you asked me to go get the car from the painter and all that. I wasn't the one on steering and so- he never mentioned anything about the person driving. Number plate payment invoice, tinted and co was missing from the paper which prompted the search until you asked them collect something. Finally, that's my nature. Is non of your business, if you see my younger brother, you'll shut up your mouth. Those of my friends that came to meet you were in JTF (Bonny Island) far back in 2010 and I worked in their barrack and Nigerian navy IT, Ships and related service unit. My office unit (as far as 2011) is bigger than the park hustling you're doing sir. Stick to the topic and stop the time-wasting acts already. I have moved on! |
tl;dr Today is a very sad day for me as all efforts to recover even a kobo from the dead SUV Mr. CityHood of Dada Motors Nig. Enterprise sold to me fell through. I'm sharing this, not because I am going to get a headway or anything short of his rhetoric, but to advice someone else to always inspect any car he's to buy irrespective of the seller's pedigree. The summary I lost way-over a million plus to CityHood Scam-deal for trusting the reviews I saw on this platform and for his professional sweet-talking and hoodwinking mastery. The Lessons I thought I was already an expert with detecting online scam-deals, but got trapped because of the reviews. I searched for such things as: - is Cityhood a scammer? - ever scammed by Cityhood? - is Dada motors Nigeria Enterprise a scam outlet? - ever scammed by 08169446319, 07030066180 scammed me, 08038211465 didn't deliver a product I bought And many other search terms without seeing a red flag. This gave me a strong conviction that someone selling for this long without defrauding his clients can't be bad to deal with after-all, little did I know he creates some of the praise-pages himself. So in all, I learn that: - Cityhood (Dada Olawale Joseph) and Dada Motors is a middle-man that helps sell dead vehicles and not a legit auto-sales outlet - Vehicles sold by him are just random pictures snapped from various parks and willing-to-sale car owners. - CityHood is good at taking great pictures from best angles and never at doing pre-sale maintenance on the goods. - I was wrong to assume I was dealing with an auto-shop ('the many good-looking cars in picture & sign post did') and not our regular car-picture hustlers. The Deal & Experiences Few days to my birthday I contacted Mr. CityHood about a Toyota highlander he 'published for sales' to know if it's in 100% working condition as I wouldn't wanna rely on photos alone. https://i68.tinypic.com/2j4su8k.png He affirmed it was in 100% shape and so we concluded on price. https://i68.tinypic.com/29vdiwy.png https://i67.tinypic.com/ix5pit.png On seeing the mileage sitting at above 200k, I asked if he has a car of exact spec but lower mileage, even if it means paying more. Being a master in photography, he sent another pics that looked better. We concluded on phone, But I insisted that he explain to me if there's anything 'at-all' to be fixed. https://i65.tinypic.com/ayv8fb.jpg We concluded in the price. I paid him the complete amount plus extra 160K~ for delivery, painting, features and sundry expenses. He started a self-praise thread on the deal and forgot to fix even the deadliest of issues on the cartoon he delivered as a SUV to me. The Deal-Breaker While waiting in anticipation for the almighty SUV, I got a call from the mechanic (that's to deliver the car) that he's arrived my locale. On sighting the fragile, leaking-roof and Nigerian-mechanics-modified SUV, I got furious and contacted Mr. CityHood that claimed to be very busy and never attended to any of my concerns. I pleaded with the mechanic to go back with the product, that I was going to discuss with Mr. cityhood later on. He declined, citing that it is Mr. Cityhood I am dealing with and not him. The mirrors were gone, AC bad, Roof leaking, belt screaming, shock chattering, tapping-glass-rear switches 'non-existent' and worst of all is that some of the documents got soaked (almost destroyed) as a result of the leaking roof and sides. I pleaded with the mechanic to move it from the park where we met to a place where they can at least fix the mirrors which he agreed on, but told me he isn't got any more time- citing the long distance he's to travel. So the SUV was literally delivered by a mechanic from the north to a mechanic workshop down here. When CityHood Finally Picked my call, after his mechanic is left, I pleaded with him to tell the young man to come back and pick the vehicle, but he claimed the man's line were dead and that the only option to get back my money is for him to re-list the vehicle for sale. https://i65.tinypic.com/2li7cly.pnghttps://i68.tinypic.com/11kgk89.pnghttps://i64.tinypic.com/14ta80i.png I accepted his offer in ecstasy but pleaded with him to make it faster, even if it's only the invoice amount. I explained to him how much useless the so-called decorations were as the vehicle can't even start without pushing the throttle multiple times (he taught me this). The Distractions Instead of working out my money fast as he promised, he started sending pictures of other cars to me. This was a bit strange as he wasn't looking for immediate resolve expected of a supposed honest dealer. https://i63.tinypic.com/2r3gk86.png https://i67.tinypic.com/2rzey38.png Hours passed without a head-way and I have but few days to travel for my birthday, I called CityHood again, but instead of sounding cool, he's like using some demeaning words on me; Asking if this was my first car? And If I'm expecting it to come as flawless after the long distance travel. Here again, I choose the part of patience, Since I thought I was dealing with a straight-forward dude (CEO of the auto-sales outlet). I figured it's wise to do some maintenance and see if I could travel with it while waiting for him to either send a driver (to pick it) or my money (from another buyer, as he proposed). I took the vehicle to a competent mechanic and then met the biggest shock. There's serious oil leakage from the gear-box (manageable) and power steering hose (very serious). I asked he change the hose (the long curvy metal hose) for the power steering and call me an electrician to fix the switches (rear engine whiner was already dead), AC and other electrical issues. Changed the battery to a working one (he delivered with bad 45aH instead of 75) and etc. To cut the long story short, I keep going from one of his distractions to another until he gave me the assurance that someone is going to pay the money to my account in November so they'll come pick the mole. The Excuses When the delay-tactics was getting too obvious, I contacted Oga Gazzus to see if there's a competent hand here in south/east that can put life into the carton. He linked me to a great guy that scanned the car into-to (can attach the diagnosis on-request) and found the car is been severely modified by them. A non-highlander engine (he guessed lexus) was constructed into it which will need a brain-box change. He also opined that a gearbox change might be required as well. He did his best for me, after which I decided it was best to keep waiting for Cityhood, not knowing that I've been scammed already. More I updated Mr. Cityhood on the expenses I have made trying to see if the dump will work. Viz; Brain-box change, fly-wheel, power steering pump and etc. change to see if he can help make a cut-price-deal and get me any money back. This was my last resort as I need get something out of it and forge ahead. November is already gone and no alert yet. I started pestering Mr. Cityhood to proffer any solution, just any! He told me there's already a buyer in his stand, but the vehicles needs come there before he'll pay. I pleaded with him to settle the driver come pick it (his opinion was I send money first), so he can deduct the money from the sales. He assured me I was gonna get my money once the car comes that he isn't got a penny on him to help out with. So again, I sent him 40K which he actually divided to the driver that prompted the man ask me for extra 10k when he came to pick the vehicle. To cut the long story short again, I never got a kobo alert. I sent a friend whom cityhood actually embarrassed and told him I was enjoying the SUV for two months and only woke up one morning to say I'm returning a product I already used for months. So the tide was turned against me. He assumed I was comfortable with the car and only woke up to beg him to help me sale the car again. He over-powered the man as there was no physical agreement written and signed before sending the car back to him. I tried exploring every possible option, including selling it at what-ever-rate but non worked. That's how I got scammed. He practically ruined my birthday and Christmas all in a year. The Red Flags There were many red flags along the line, but I had to play along. Just to see if I can recover anything from it. 1. He tried to persuade me into looking into other vehicles and rejected every exchange deal I suggested. 2. He claimed to be broke, while using his psychological advantage to work on my brain until I can forget everything for him or so. I didn't get the 10k from him till date. https://i67.tinypic.com/34oomq0.jpghttps://i68.tinypic.com/w7j13t.jpg 3. The car was seized at the first inter-state travel attempt. While going for my birthday, the vehicle was seized and cityhood practically push the blame on his non-existent servant. The papers weren't bearing the engine number and so was thought by them a stolen one. He asked them to take some money from me and release the vehicle. This was obviously a flag as no honest dealer cuts corner when his client is paying the right amount for papers. 4. He practically told me that he couldn't find a driver that would deliver for less (when sending back the vehicle) but paid the driver less, assuring him that I was going to fill the tank for him. 5. Someone that's willing to help in an issue like this will not be re-listing the vehicle for ridiculous amount (above 500k profit) when his clients needs his money urgently to forge ahead. 6. The 'straw that broke the camel back' is CITYHOOD trying to use parts from the vehicle he promised to service properly and get me back my money for his personal use. 7. What Mr. Cityhood delivered was a 2004 Toyota highlander and never a 2005 ad advertised. 8. No dealer sales no car for no profit. https://i64.tinypic.com/140ddzt.jpg My friend that went to see to the car found out that, over there, there are no real vehicles except for few accident-ed ones and tricycles. And that the bonnet hook-stand, battery were tampered with, Mr. Cityhood practically had no answer to these. Its surprising what he'll be doing with insignificant things as these when there's lots of vehicles to attend to. My Decision Move on. Lesson learnt! Don't trust every review you see on a public platform. My mistake was believing Dada Motors (Cityhood) and not making a provision for inspection, even when I have friends up there. N/B Audio, screenshot and sundry available on request. I'm very sorry for the long article, just that I wouldn't want another nairalander scammed by the sweet-talking cityhood. Thanks again. |
