Industry that will bring development and employment opportunities they refused to sell land to him. Governor bagudu even came and begged the illiterates still they refused. They prefer riding donkeys and going to farm with hoe and cutlass tomorrow fulanis will kill them in the bush and they'll be crying you are the real mumu, you want them to sell their world to him and do what next?, why shouldn't he partner with the farmers. the farmers are wise to me Biko. a place like kebbi that has absolutely nothing but their lands |

Culture › Re: As A Nigerian-american, I Would Like Insight On Which Language To Learn by memgbe: 12:09pm On Apr 08, 2019 |
uchefefe: I know Nigerian Pidgin fairly well actually.
I do plan on learning all of them someday. I don't want to just scratch the surface with them though; I want to learn them deeply and fluently. It is difficult to balance that with also working on my doctorate. I will take what you said into account thought, that may be a good approach!
See I really do want to, but it feels as though it has so many more obstacles than the other languages. Learning in the U.S. I have to use books and dictionaries that use Izugbe. Because Izugbe isn't a real dialect I've learned Igbo that no one actually uses to speak. The first time I went to Nigeria and tried talking with my aunts and uncles, none of them understood what I was trying to say becuase Izugbe is so different compared to their dialect. There's also olilo uduame which makes it incredible difficult for me to understand what people are saying. On top of that, Igbo people seem really reluctant to help or even speak the language (at least abroad). I grew up outside of Ala Igbo, but I did belong to a small Igbo community with around 30 adults. I asked all of them and only one was actually willing to help me after my father refused to teach me, the rest just dismissed me. In addition, all the Igbo people in my generation I've met at colleges can't speak Igbo. Even many of my cousins don't speak the language despite being born and raised in Ala Igbo. My experience is limited, so I ask is the language really thiving and worth learning like the other two? learning igbo outside Nigeria is Herculean, Igbo is fairly difficult language to learn the way you are trying to do. Hausa Yoruba and other tribes that have spent time here in the East, find it difficult to be fluent in Igbo. While igbos easily learn hausa and Yoruba languages. The easiest that you can learn by books is hausa. Hausa language is actually sweet, and very easier to learn. Also the most profitable language to learn in Nigeria and west Africa. If you still want to learn Igbo, there's a book that the old people used, my mom told me about it, according to them the book is almost miraculous because a stack illiterate could use it to learn Igbo in a matter of months, I think the name is akwukwo azu, or something. The book should be very rare now. |

What he is trying to say is that anybody who captures a returning officer and forces him or her to announce a result has won what about people that bribed returning officer(s) that didn't win an election but was/were declared winners., he who goes to equity must go with clean hands. this is an election I witnessed Rochas won squarely, why they are treating him this way is what I don't understand. today is Rochas turn, tomorrow maybe another person's, we have to speak the truth for the sake of posterity |

FrankFrenzy: How big and vast is Mbaise? What's our average population? Just 3 LGAS It it bigger and perhaps more populated than the old Amaigbo nation that's comprised of 4 Local governments areas of Isu, Nwangele, Nkwere and Amaigbo and yet they are yet to produce even a deputy Governor in the state. What about the Oru bloc that has Oru East and west, Oguta and some part of Ohaji/Egbema LGAS, have they ever produced a governor? No. But they all bask in the euphoria of Orlu as a zone having produced governors at one time or the other. The problem with Mbaise is that we have failed to align ourselves with Owerri as zone forgetting that we are Owerri first (that's the senatorial zone) before being Mbaise (our local governments and towns) and this should inform our thoughts and decisions at all times. This also is what gave kept Orlu as a people and a zone going because an average Orlu man (irrespective of any of the 12 LGAS he came from) sees himself as an Orlu man first before now seeing himself as Oru or Oru, Ideato or Nwangele, Njaba or Ohaji, Oguta or Amaigbo. the clan is not Amaigbo, but isu/isuama, comprising orlu, Njaba nkwerre, isu, nwangale part of oru east, part of ideator south, and to an extent part of mbano(was surprised to find out that we have 90percent same dialect with them). |

These people do not even have mercy on themselves, instead of them to be humble and win the heart and trust of Imolites by working hard and rebuilding the state, because trust me the only way an Imolite will vote Ihedioha again after this "unseat the dynasty" exercise is if he carves a niche for himself like or closer to the legendary Sam Onunaka Mbakwe the great. you never see anything, this too early. come to egbu road and see them yielding Cutlass |

Politics › Re: INEC Suspends Announcement Of Results In Imo (Video) by memgbe: 8:55pm On Mar 11, 2019 |
IloveToMess: My friend you are from mbaise that's why you are talking sentimentally the way you are doing. Which Mbaise are Kingmakers, you see this is why IMO people don't like you people, you have not been declared winner yet and you are already calling yourselves kingmakers, kingmakers since when? Orlu people that have been producing governors for ages now never called themselves king makers in IMO, instead of you to see the real picture here that IMO people do not want Rochas empire and dynasty that's why his son in-law is hated politically, and Hope is also losing because of the APC bad image factor among Igbos and also because Orlu zone has had the seat quite long enough and people want a shift, another factor also is that he cannot rig easily coming from the same zone as Rochas hence there is split of vote/rigging there. Ararume and Ohakim are both political abominations in IMO and so are not options either, all these are the reasons IMO people's choice and victory can easily rest on the PDP.
If Ihedioha likes let him not redeem the image of the Mbaise when he becomes Governor, let him misbehave or do anyhow na so the whole state go unite against Mbaise and that will mark the end of you people politically in IMO state. If you like take it if you like leave it. Enough said. I am from Ikeduru by the way. lol, una go hear am, I'm not traveling i will definitely see the end of it. ararume is by far, a better option if you don't like nwosu simply because of mbaise factor, come to owerri now and see what is happening, even in my yard. see their boastfulness. the naked truth is no mbaise man is viewing this from owerri angle, not even from IMO angle. what they simply believe is that they just conquered the territory of imo |

sonature1: For 12 years, PDP reigned in Imo, keeping Imolites in bondage. As a consequence, Imo people decided to keep the useless party out of government house forever.
From APGA to APC, Imo people supported Okorocha just to make sure that the PDP never came close to the government house.
Sadly, Okorocha got intoxicated by power and started talking like a madman. Embezzled state funds and channel it to private investments. His family acquire lands across Owerri and developed choice property within and outside the state. The straw that broke the camel's back was trying to install his son-in-law as the governor of Imo State.
Today, Rochas is making Imolites to return to their vomit, the PDP.
In any case, congratulations to the winner!
Imo State deserves better! thank you |

Guzel: Get your facts right There is no tension in Owerri It’s laughable to say that there are 40k registered voters in ideato. I hope you know that there are two local govts in ideato. None of them has a voting strength of less than 40k. When aboh mbaise came with 64k for PDP alone when card reader captured less than 50k votes, AA agents raised observation. REC stood it down to harmonize it, that’s what electoral law entails. Then came ideato south, Rochas LGA with 70k for AA, PDP raised their observations, REC look at it and just like he did for Aboh mbaise gave a go ahead. Then stood Onyeaguocha, PDP agent and a former federal lawmaker, he took the result sheet and tore it into pieces. Then the agent of Democratic Alliance, DA stood up and tore the entire Result sheet from the REC. Rochas was not there, AA agent did not tear any result sheet. It was PDP and DA agents that were on tearing spree don't mind them ideator south probably has more registered voters than aboh mbaise, but look at what they got. all I'm asking is is rigging only meant for PDP and not other parties |
