How did Moses manage to write about his death and burial in the first five books of the bible. Abrahamic religions, world greatest illusion. Deuteronomy 34 The Death of Moses 34 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.” 5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. 6 He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. 8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over. 9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses. 10 Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, 11 who did all those signs and wonders the Lord sent him to do in Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. 12 For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel. |
michael142:Too many children coming out of the body degradates the whole system. A fresh girl will within ten to fifteen yrs of marriage deliver 6 to 8 children. The worst is the limited resources to take care of those worn out tissues. White that have appropriate level of income and health care delivery system still reduce the number of children she bears while opposite is the case here. |
mostyg:That's a good criteria to consider brother unless if the place was temporarily scattered and dirty with the intention to clean up later. |
Annunaki:Is the bible a fact, a theory or a hypothesis? |
HCpaul:Did i say i hate such a place if it exists. Can't you contrast between evidence based stuffs and imagery fantasies. If heaven is real, do you think i will leave the ish for you alone. Stop accusing me of things i didn't say. |
Anybody that possesses sense of beauty and serenity will like such place and its description according to the new testament but my greatest disappointment is that there's not even a single evidence of such utopia kind of place. The only evidence of such place is more of daydreams and wishfully assuming it exists. |

The essence of business entrepreneural establishment is to maximize profit. Unless those businessmen (pastors) wanted to do that as an incentive. |

sabi99:So that when you are dead, you will notice that Christianity, hell and heaven are not real but Hinduism is. By then you will start scrambling about Hindu sort of heaven but may not meet up because you disbelief in the religion when you were alive. No argument bro, my advice is that you start now to worship all the other religions in existence now and others that ever existed, incase if any of them become a reality. My reasons is that each and every of the those other religions claim the reality of their particular own, as you always normally do when confronted on why you a Christian. |
ELGREF:You are right. He can do those things but can't say a simple ''HI'' let alone trying to lift a small stone. |
Kingsley10000:Like seriously bro. |
Fearcom:Spiritual realm? Stuffs out of the realm of physical but manifests its bye products to the physical is an amazing glamour to scientific method. How come none of those 'spiritual realm detectors' couldn't demonstrate the reality of it scientifically. Why is it thriving in vagueness and revelations instead of demonstrable and valid evidence to such concept. It is even illogical to be existing in a realm you called physical, talking about other realm and still is it unknowable to human; at the same time, described how the place is. If the outlook of heaven as described in the bible was issued by god to man as claimed, is god really serious and wants us to believe there is such a place. Is god playing hide and seek game. |

plaetton:The oceans of evidence mounting as a road-block to progressive-lefties, not accepting evolution as a fact are so gigantic. This is a free world, one can choose to be ignorant wilfully. I really care what's true. |
Hello everyone! Here's a non-confrontational, very simple piece that explains the basic ideas behind evolution. I put this together last year to explain evolution to my brother. Undoubtedly there are holes in this explanation, and I'm sure any biologist here could explain things in far more detail and with more accuracy, but if you're looking for an easy way to show a loved one that evolution makes sense, this might be a good place to start. It consists of a few observable facts and a thought experiment. First, a few observations - Tall parents tend to have tall children. Short parents tend to have short children. Black parents tend to have black children. White parents tend to have white children. This is true for animals as well as for human beings. We can call these differences "traits". We inherit traits from our parents and pass them down to our children. It's certainly possible for short parents to have a child who will grow to be tall, but generally speaking there's a pretty good chance that a child will get the traits of his or her parents. In nature some traits are very important. For instance, a gazelle better be a fast runner, because when a lion starts chasing the herd, the slowest gazelle is going to be lunch. Now let's imagine two gazelles in the herd. One is fast, the other is slow. Which gazelle is more likely to survive into adulthood and have a family? The faster one, obviously. The faster one survives because in our simplified environment where outrunning a lion is the key to survival, the fast one "fits" into its environment better than the slower one. That, in a nutshell, is what we mean when we say "survival of the fittest." If the traits you inherited from your parents give you a competitive advantage in the environment you live in, then you "fit" your environment well and are more likely to survive than someone who doesn't "fit" as well. There's another vocabulary phrase I want to introduce here: "Natural selection". Remember the fast gazelle and the slow one? The traits that make a gazelle run fast are "selected" over time. In other words, if a trait gives a gazelle a better chance at living long enough to make baby gazelles, that trait is being naturally selected by the environment - which in this case means the lions. Survival of the fittest is what happens to individual gazelles, but natural selection is what happens to the herd. Those gazelles whose traits would slow down any baby gazelles that inherit them are probably going to die themselves before they have the chance to make babies and pass those traits down. Logically, the herd must be getting a little faster each generation. If only the fastest half of the gazelles live long enough to have babies, and only the fastest half of those babies live long enough to have babies of their own, then the whole herd is getting a little bit faster every generation. The herd is slowly changing over time. We call this slow change "evolution." Of course, the lions are evolving, too. The fastest lions get to eat regularly and live long enough to make babies. The slowest lions starve to death before they have the chance to pass their slow traits down to the next generation. In this simplified environment we've imagined, both the lions and the gazelles must constantly evolve just to keep up with each other. Nature is like that. Each generation of giraffe gets taller because the short giraffes can't reach the leaves, and each generation of tree gets taller because the shortest trees don't have enough leaves left to keep them alive. Bird's eyesight gets better and insect's camouflage gets better. It's an evolutionary arms race, and the traits that confer the best chance to live long enough to pass themselves on to the next generation are the traits that get selected over and over, causing the species to evolve towards those traits. We can see natural selection happening in the natural world around us every day. Maybe we can't see evolution with our eyes, but all evolution really is is a long series of natural selections, playing out over eons, and if our lifespans were long enough, we could see the horns on rams get bigger and peacocks get prettier over generations.

No be small thing. The intolerance meter of Iranian military is on red alert. |
Mynd44:Brother, excessive cubbing of people's opinion is not good. Not that you do it to all bigots and all factions but to a selected few opinions. This is not north korea. This is Nigeria. You are implicitly building a totalitarian regime by exerting fear into people's mind thereby making few in office pretty powerful. If Nairaland have grown to huge complexity and anyone can easily get banned, we start looking for other alternate forums. I still salute you mod. |
I’m going to be honest of what I’m going to say here. I’m 25 this year. I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I’m greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York. My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I’ve dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough. I’m here humbly to ask a few questions: 1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym) 2) Which age group should I target? 3) Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I’ve met a few girls who don’t have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys. 4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married) Ms. Pretty A philosophical reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan below: Dear Ms. Pretty, I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I’m not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you’re trying to do is an exchange of “beauty” and “money” : Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there’s a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can’t be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It’s not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later. By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a “trading position”. If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term – same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or “leased”. Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool. Hope this reply helps. signed, J.P. Morgan CEO |
