Science/TechnologyRe: Big Bang And Evolution Theory Are The Two Greatest Scam In Science by menesheh(m): 4:06pm On Apr 23, 2016
johnydon22:
In every random process there is a pattern, in every interaction there is a result..

this is the nature of everything, this is the result of what was in the testimony of what is.

Take for instance a Sand Dune, it is very artistic and precise but then from whence did it come?

Was it a planned artistic design?

Not even in the least, just a random and even chaotic reaction of wind on sand and from the chaotic reaction a pattern emerges, a result.

The Penicillin was made from chance yet saved millions and very important in our medical field.

Even where there is will, Chance governs all.

Even when you invoke a God, it is still a subject to chance...

-A chance that somehow outstandingly we've got a God(and not nothing)

-A chance that it is remarkably powerful enough to make something

-A chance that is precisely able and willing.

-A chance that in it's infinite loop of existence it decides to make everything.

2,000,000 sperms on conception night only one made it, it is a remarkable chance, even your day to day life is governed and subjected to chance.

A chance that your car doesn't get hit by another or a meteor doesn't fall right into your head.

So this is not about what feels good that takes us to the scope of theology which in essence is blind.

theology only aims at giving answers to satisfy the questioner while science gives answers to satisfy the question, the question may or may not like it

it is not a matter of believing the universe is a product of chance, believing it doesn't make it true anymore than not believing it makes it a lie.

Invoking what you want to be (believe) in a quest to ascertain what is diminishes your enquiry only to that of emotion and reduces the chance of a truthful deduction.

to borrow your words " To believe that the universe God(s) is from random chance is even more of a stretch in my opinion."

replace the universe with God and you see all again falls back to chance.. why there is something (God) and not nothing.. since it is a chance of nothing and something, it also will be a remarkable chance if something(God) is and not nothing

To continue:

-what makes you think the universe or nature must be designed?

-why do you think there need only be 1 god being and not an entire race of them, if 1 can exist then can't millions of them exist? Or do you think 1 makes a less of an assumption?
Awesome logic 401

Still waiting for the follow up of the Einstein Albert motion gravity bla bla. That topic pretty much sent some nut outta ma head. I usually and still wondering the possibility of such far distant objects like the sun and it planetary bodies, earth and its circumnavigating moon, necessarily a product of objects attracting each other. Doubting is another cunning way of learning things more profoundly. Still freakishly overwhelmed by that topic.

Multi-verse! Mmmh. I don't give a rat-ass about the topic for now since experts working on that field have no iota of observable empiricism to go about determining its possibility.

I usually use this phrase to refer to the concept of multi-verse " plausible hypothesis"

My brother don't use the Bible to defend a biased notion of yours...
Am not necessarily defending any preconceptions or bias. You are the one expressing bias and defending your presuppositions hence taking the bible in its face value devoid of skepticism, profound evaluation and remotely being metaphorical.

What do you take the Bible for,God?
bible and god are human construct.

Its only those that makes a baseless argument quote the Bible all the time..I want you to know this....

THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN AND COMPILED BY HUMANS LIKE YOU AND THERE WAS THE CHURCH BEFORE THE BIBLE...
THERE ARE STILL SOME CHAPTERS OF THE BIBLE WHICH WASN'T PUT THERE...WHICH ARE IN THE CUSTODY OF THE THOSE THAT COMPILED IT(THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH).
So why do you have the notion that the claims in the bible aren't man's imaginative impulses rather than a hide and seek god.

You acknowledged that the bible was written by men, what are your evidence and justification that there is a god that inspired anything. Not only that such god didn't write anything himself but left the authorship of those book in the hands of totalitarian authorities that are capable of manipulating the scripts.

I am not saying the Bible is Not the answer..
But all doubts cannot be cleared with the Bible..
This is where you are getting more confused. Roman authority envisioned the more explicit books and some verses ( supposedly, should be in the bible but weren't there) which would necessarily go against the whole mishmash stories as presented in the bible, then purposely decided to exclude them from their collection. Why not ask yourself why those books weren't in the bible anyway.

There's great wisdom in his words.
What are the great wisdom in his statements? An atheistic and illusionary pope going against the inscriptions of the ancient Rome and the Jews fairies.

Alarm bells should be going off. Eternal life is not rewarded for good living; that would contradict many other Scriptures which clearly state that salvation is not by works, but is all of God’s grace to those who BELIEVE (e.g., Rom 6:23; 10:9-10; 11:6; Eph 2:8-9; Titus 3:5. Furthermore, Conscience is an important part of human nature, but it is not an absolutely trustworthy indicator of what is right. One’s conscience can be
“good” (Acts 23:1; 1 Tim 1:5, 19) and “clear” (Acts 24:16; 1 Tim 3:9; 2 Tim 1:3; Heb 13:18), but it can also be “guilty” (Heb 10:22), “corrupted” (Titus 1:15), “weak” (1 Cor 8:7, 10, 12), and “seared” (1 Tim 4:2). All people need to trust the Lord Jesus Christ so that “the blood of Christ” might “cleanse [their] consciences” (Heb 9:14).)

A god that allows for human in the form of pope to misinterpret his celestial book.

Christianity EtcPope Francis Assures Atheists: You Don’t Have To Believe In God To Go To Heaven by menesheh(op):
In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences.

Responding to a list of questions published in the paper by Mr Scalfari, who is not a Roman Catholic, Francis wrote: “You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.

“Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

Robert Mickens, the Vatican correspondent for the Catholic journal The Tablet, said the pontiff’s comments were further evidence of his attempts to shake off the Catholic Church’s fusty image, reinforced by his extremely conservative predecessor Benedict XVI. “Francis is a still a conservative,” said Mr Mickens. “But what this is all about is him seeking to have a more meaningful dialogue with the world.”

In a welcoming response to the letter, Mr Scalfari said the Pope’s comments were “further evidence of his ability and desire to overcome barriers in dialogue with all”.

In July, Francis signalled a more progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”

Scientists did not create life, they engineered a very simple life-form. Did they synthesize its genome from raw-materials? No. Did they design any aspect at all of the engineered organism's cell? No. They essentially did cut and join and removed non-essential genes from the genome of their raw material until they found a functional point.

Scientists engineer a life form and plaetton comes on nairaland to report that life has been created in the lab. Shame on you.

Hello to all atheists of Nland,

I was wondering if you guys could share some stories of how you became atheists or what made you convert to atheism and what makes you think it is the right belief.............

Second Note: Please all theists and religious people should bear with them and do not insult if they mention anything contrary to your belief.......
The bolded is fundamentally a wrong representation of atheism. There is no particular believe system induced by atheism.

Basically, I had been a skeptic even when i was a theist. I can't remotely say what changed my mind but i remember going through a Facebook post that was specifically talking about how to challenge your beliefs to know whether it worth holding let alone believing it very strongly.

Since there are millions, if not billions of spurious believes people being hold around the world and possibly, my own maybe one of them. The article further said that the best way to know what's true is to start searching for ideas, evident and logical syllogism that will disprove such belief rather than looking for stuffs that will prove it.

My rejection of theistic claims didn't took a gradual process but an instantaneous one because i had been doubting stuffs despite hugely being indoctrinated from my childhood. I later on got grip of Richard Dawkins book "the god delusion", there was this immediate bye bye to religious incoherency and bogus claims.

Finally am a happy hardcore atheist and it still amazes me how I could ever break away from religious mind control dependency. Living my life very happily and gaining more knowledge about reality rather fantasies.

Hoestly,You fail to understand the difference between demonstrated probability and falsehood. A conclusion is likely or most likely to be true don't give you any shroud of criteria to assert that such is technically flawed. That science have not yet gain the full knowledge of a scientific model; hence your assertion is that it is false.

Honesty is when you infer a position as regards to the stage of its understanding rather than saying ”yea, we've gain full understanding of how such works”. Science don't thread that path.

Retroactively, you have this presupposition that is blurring you from seeing the bigger picture of how science works.

Today is an exciting day as a new Probe is joining the Mars frontier...

The ExoMars 2016 mission is short for Exobiology Mars and is tasked with
looking for evidence of life on Mars. It consists of the TGO and Schiaparelli
module. The TGO will look for traces of methane in the Martian atmosphere
with an eye on learning more about the mechanism that produces it and to
determine if this is geological, chemical, or biological. It will also send back
images of the Martian surface and search for subsurface ice deposits.

The new rover is on a mission to further probe into the Martian surface for organic signatures (evidence of life) Microbes and colonies of microbes that may be lurking somewhere beneath the surface of the red planet.

That is an exciting possibility and a stepping stone to mankind's quest for extra-terrestrial life forms..

The ExoMars has been launched on a 7 months Journey to the red planet ... Let us go through the stages it will under go on it's journey to Mars..

Christianity EtcRe: Is Hell Real? What The Bible Says About Hell by menesheh(m): 11:14am On Mar 13, 2016
iliyande:
God has given us enough education about the torment that is in hell, the people who go there and how we can avoid the pits of it. While, as Christians, we don't really focus on hell as much because we know that when we abide in Jesus it is not part of our destiny anymore, it is good to have a healthy view of hell for two reasons: to know what we must save our non-believing loved ones from and to further appreciate God's love and grace by knowing what Christ has saved us from.

What does the Bible tell us about hell?

Hell is not God's choice

Galatians 6:8 tells us "For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." God does not willingly throw people into hell just because He wants to, but because it is the choice of those who are destined to be there.

God has made it clear that we can either choose to live with Him now and forever, or be doomed to be separated from Him forever. Sadly, many people still choose to live lives separate from God, and there's no one else responsible for that choice except themselves.

Hell goes on forever

Hell will not last a thousand years or a million years. It will be for all eternity. It's daunting to know that we only have a hundred years or less to make a decision that will affect our eternity, but God makes it simple: We are only to believe in Him, period. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 says, "They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might."

Hell is not just physical torment, but spiritual torment

Although the Bible paints a picture of hell by narrating physical torment, the punishment of hell is far more painful than that. Matthew 10:28 tells us, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Hell is where God's grace is absent

The greatest punishment is not the presence of pain and suffering, but the absence of God's love and mercy. Today, everyone still has a taste of that love and grace in one way or another, but those who will fall into eternal fire will no longer experience that love and grace one day.

John 3:36 says, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

Source ; http://www.christiantoday.com/article/what.do.we.know.about.hell/81058.htm
Interpretation of what the Bible asserted about hell isn't remotely the problem but try and come up with models to demonstrate the fact of it. Demonstration of any postulation is potentially the most important part of knowing what's factual and that which isn't.

Instead waisting your time complicating the more what hell is all about by pointing to the same bible verses; show us the method, anybody outside bible peer can lay hand on as the justification for believing hell is real.
