juicee1: SS voices against Biafra When we told them that SS doesn't support biafra, they called us liars. They did everything possible to lure the region into the biafra agitation by shouting down any voice from the region against it and claiming such a person can't speak for the region cos he's not their leader. Now the notable leaders of the region are beginning to speak up and telling the Igbos to stop transporting people from SE to protest in SS thereby making it look like it's the SS indigenes that are in agitation for Biafra. James ibori The former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori has called on those using his picture during Biafra protest to cease from using it and that he is a strong believer of united Nigeria where the rights of every citizen is held sacrosanct. He also stated that the peace that the country enjoyed for forty five years after the civil war should not be broken by residues being dug up by some people to further divide the nation and betray efforts at national reconciliation and development. This he said must not be allowed. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/ibori-dissociates-self-from-biafran-agitation-says-hes-committed-nigerian/ Itsekiri people The Itsekiri people in Warri, Delta state have dissociated themselves from the call and agitation of some Igbo people in the south east for an independent state of Biafra. Vanguard reports that this was made known on Tuesday, October 27 by Itsekiri Leaders of Thought through a statement by its chairman Pa Johnson Ayomike and secretary, Edward Ekpoko. https://www.naij.com/620088-will-not-tolerate-another-igbo-invasion-itsekiri-people-dissociates-biafra.html Gbaramatul leader The leaders of Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State, have warned that Gbaramatu kingdom is not part of Biafra. Elder Dickson Agagha, who spoke on behalf of the leaders at a meeting in Warri, insisted that Gbaramatu kingdom will never be part of Biafra, saying that any son or daughter of the kingdom making such a move to include Gbaramatu in Biafra will fail. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/gbaramatu-kingdom-not-part-of-biafra-community-leaders-warn/ Gov Wike Wike Bans protesters in Rivers state In a state broadcast, Mr. Wike banned all forms of street protests, demonstrations, rallies or unlawful gatherings associated with the agitations for the secession of any group from the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “Majority of these individuals have come from neighbouring states and in the course of these protests, disrupted social and economic activities, damaged properties, assaulted and inflicted injuries on other citizens going about their lawful endeavours. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/192971-gov-wike-bans-biafra-protests-in-rivers.html River Elders and Leaders Council He said Rivers Elders noted those with Biafra “sentiments have chosen to transport trailer and bus loads of demonstrators from neighbouring states into Port Harcourt. To say the least, this amounts to the display of bad political fate across our neighbouring borders. Rivers Elders pointed out “The action so far taken by the Biafra protesters in Port Harcourt is highly provocative to all genuine sons and daughters of Rivers state who have so far restrained themselves from confronting the demonstrators in Port Harcourt.” www.newsrescue.com/we-are-not-biafrans-never-say-rivers-elders/ Senator Godswill Akpabio The Rivers Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, also noted that his command would not allow lawlessness or breakdown of law and order. Senate minority leader Senator Godswill Akpabio also condemned the Biafran agitators. Speaking at the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conference in Abuja, Akpabio, a former Akwa Ibom State governor, called on the Federal Government and the states where the militias are protesting to stop the spread of the agitation. “The Biafra agitators must be told that those who witnessed the Nigerian civil war will never wish to experience another war in their entire lifetime. “If you don’t like the government of the day, you must wait for another election to vote them out”, Akpabio said. www.thenationonlineng.net/rivers-elders-reject-biafra/ Urhobo THE Urhobo nation yesterday denounced its membership in the proposed map of Biafra by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Making the position known yesterday in a statement, National Publicity Secretary of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Alhaji Mumakai- Unagha, warned that Urhobo and its territories should be counted out from any IPOB plan. “IPOB have their rights of agitation for freedom of self determination as enshrined in the united nation declaration stressing that other ethnic groups should not be dragged along to avoid the mistake that led to the civil war. “The magnanimity of Urhobos in allowing Igbos celebrate the Igbo Cultural Day should not be taken for granted as we urge IPOB to delist Urhobo from its proposed map.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/urhobo- denounces-inclusion-in-map-of-biafra/ Biafra is not even in Nigeria https://newsrescue.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Biafra18.png And where is Nigeria on any map lol... Politics › Re: Why Yorubas Are Wailing Over Biafra by mensdept: 7:56am On Nov 08, 2015 |
kettykin: I have listed out some points why yorubas are wailing uncontrollably over the recent moves to actualize biafra.
1. Igbos who own the largest retail businesses in Nigeria will likely relocate to biafra on actualization.
2. No igbo businesses to pay exorbitant shop rents in the numerous shops, markets and malls in Lagos leading to severe loss of revenue and the attendant contraction in the economy of Lagos.
3. Igbos who are 90% Christians would leave and most churches would be...
4. The real estate business would be the worst hit as agents, land dealers, landlords would go for years with out a single tenancy.
5. The other tribes in Lagos would find Lagos very boring, irritating, economically unviable and retrogressive.
6. Lagos would be ibadanised leading to rapid growth of ghettos, slums, with Festac, mile 2, surulere being the worst hit.
7. Lagos schools and hospitality industry would witness bankruptcy and Collapse.
8.A quick take over of Lagos by fulani
9. Lagos loosing it's status as the entertainment capital of Nigeria.
10. Loosing status as the economical and commercial capital of Nigeria.
Please add your own, no insults This is pretty much 80% of why a large section of Yoruba from Awolowo's era till now can't and won't support Biafra. Then you add Jealosie Jealosie and you get 100% why |

Mega005: I guess these are d most deserving senators who shd staged a walk-out because they hate corruption so badly and as such didn't want Ameachi as minister:- Saint Godswill Akpabio :- Presently facing corruption charges with EFCC as recent as last week. Saint Joshua Dariye :- Was arrested for money laundering, removed from Office as Governor for 6 months & state of emergency declared in his state. Still facing corruption case with EFCC till date Saint Theodore Orji :- Pending case with EFCC for allegedly squandered N474billion of Abia state money with his wife & son. Saint Stella Oduah :- Bought 2 BMW N240billion. Was removed as minister. Still undergoing investigation with EFCC Saint Jonah Jang :- Facing 20billion corruption charges with EFCC, case still in progress. Saint Sam Egwu :- In 2007, a group, which calls itself the Coalition for Good Governance in Ebonyi State (COGGES) wrote petition to EFCC. In the petition, Sam Egu was described as the most corrupt Governor between 1999-2007. Case still pending in court. Saint Enyinnaya Abaribe :- Impeached as deputy governor for corruption Saint Buruji Kashamu - When I saw Kashamu among those walking out, I laughed almost slapped my Boss in the office. Kashamu staged a walk-out in protest against corruption. This must be illusory horror movie. Kashamu I laughed in swahili kikikikiikikikiki kikikiki wondering wetin he go dey think as he dey walk out.. Not only that, even before he was rigged in as governor in 2007, he was already jailed by EFCC on charges. What happened to those |
Politics › Re: The Minister Of Police Affairs Or The IG, Who Is Superior? by mensdept: 6:24pm On Nov 01, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: The IGP is a civil servant and head of Police Management Team that executes the directives of the government and is in charge of policing in the country. The Minister is an Officer of the Government that acts on Behalf of the President. He formulates the entire policy of the policy, ensures they have necessary equipment to fight crimes, tranings, welfare etc. He also ensures that officers and men of the force are motivated. Most IMPORTANTLY, he ensures that the IGP and all those under the Ministry execute their duties. He represent the force in the cabinet and is responsible to the public on police matters in place of the President.
Omo, he's 10x more powerful and influencial than the Police IGP. That sounds like a bunch of BS. Are we still a colony that we have a minister of Police? Why not abolish federal character and the need for every state (even those unviable and lazy) to have a minister because it hasn't led to development in 16 years of this quasi-democracy period that was filled with the same military leaders left and right. Also, for the record, the Police IG is more "powerful" (if we must use that word) than a mere Police "Minister" |
Politics › Re: Your Country Is A Joke by mensdept: 5:24pm On Nov 01, 2015 |
lokoloko84: You are right and anybody against your writeup is insane.Nigeria is not only a joke but a disgrace filled with citizens who are shameless patriots. I had a chat with a brother of mine who is a medical doctor but on an assignment in Sierralone. He told me that most homes there have access to power supply for twenty two(22)hours daily and they use top paid meters. He further said the internet connectivity there is WiFi which is unlimited for like six months at a cost of $90 per month. He even said things are getting better, though the cost of living is high. Fortunately, I watched a documentary about the civil war in Sierralone last month,a war which was a disaster and lasted for ten years ending in the year 2001. My point is that,if this country could provide this type of power supply and internet connectivity within the space of fifteen years, then most Nigerians should put up their thinking faculty, if they had any. As far as,I am concerned Nigeria is too big to managed. It is better, she is broken down to manageable units in whatever to succeed. It is annoying to see countries in Africa, who have fought civil wars like Rwanda, Angola and so on in the 90's doing well economically and socially. Nigeria is a disgrace and it is just a matter of time. This nothing new, that is Nigeria was never meant to be a real country. It was just put together so that Oyibo can robb the region and Africans of their manhood. You think it is surprising our women are wearing other women hair and they see nothing wrong with that? Or that after naming ceremonies people will still say they are Naija for life without realizing where that name came from. Look at who Nigger-Areans celebrated as their president- An old coupist. That is Africa for you. No wonder everyone is trying to go and give birth abroad because they know that green pale is meaningless. |

Well everyone knows and should know why Yorubas oppose Biafra, GEJ, and anything SOuth as the OP tried to elaborate. Simply, Yooruba culture does not provide for serious and dynamic development and government, hence a poor and wretched Oduduwa republic.
