Hagm0nd: Yoruba phobia is real, this madness even extends to their leaders,we talk wahaha ,we no talk wahala. very soon ipob and their ss relatives will blame Yoruba for their low sperm count. so igbos and their friends can't deal with election loss, you've been blowing pipelines to spite Yorubas and make them suffer, and we keep clapping for you, what else do you want? Well well well...so you see, this is what Yoruba have known all the while, pretending as if the "south-south" were people from Congo without relations to Igbo, at least that's what they've promoted for 40 years. At least the last election and the aftermath have exposed them, and see them, exposing themselves the more without even realizing it. But I guess it doesn't matter because the EAST and MIDWEST are uniting again. Thank you Akpabio, thank you Niger-Delta Avengers. It's about dayum time |

oladimejiX: The Bakassi militant group condemned the incessant bombings of oil pipelines in the oil rich Niger Delta region by the Avengers, Channels TV reports. Speaking at Esuk Mba, in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River state, Simple Benjamin, the leader of the group, advised the government to adopt the approach of the American Ambassador to Nigeria who is an advocate for dialogue as war alone cannot solve their problems in tackling the issue.
He explained that there was no struggle without a reason, and the Avengers had their reasons for attacking oil facilities in the region. Mba however, said they were not in support of the militants activities, asking them to stop the attacks as it was no the solution to their grievances.
“It is cheaper to make peace as war leads to more destruction. Fellow compatriots of the Niger Delta Avengers Please sheathe your sword and give peace a chance. I think you have made your point, hence you should give government chance to respond. Enough of the bombings, please. I call on the sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers to have a rethink of their actions. I also appeal to security agencies to thread softly as two wrongs don’t make a right,” he said. The leader of the Bakassi militant group noted that the attacks had a retrogressive effect on Nigeria’s economy. There has been continued tension in the Niger Delta region following a resurgence of militancy in the area. source http://www.sayitnicely.com

Disband Nigeria Army, Navy and Airforce if they are helpless and hopeless in the face of this great national economic sabotage. Enough is enough. Don't tell me you forgot about the threat here on nairaland last year about our all inspiring military. All the pictures and paparazzi made you think we could tomorrow go and kick homosexuality out of Yankee, or tell Putin or the Chinese to go sidon somewhere. But it was all hype, propaganda, and a feel good moment. The truth is the military, like our "nation" is nothing more than an extension of the British Royal African Company, with our so-called army protecting the interest of that and not us. That's the truth and why small skirmishes can't even be dealt with effectively. But put the name Biafra then they will become serious because of the obvious truth behind what that represents. |

On the issue of Fulani been not daft, fulanis in general are intelligent ppl and I wont insult any tribe by saying one tribe is dumb but let me ask u one question, why is it that obj is always supporting a sick ,weak northern candidate despite having full knowledge of their bad state of health On the issue of Nigeria breakup due to another 4 years of gej,the breakup was due to apc negative bitterness opposition politics that portrayed gej as anti Muslim and anti north. It was the northerners that had cutlasses, matchets and guns ready before the election results were announced in favor of pdp not the south. It was those security reports that made abdulsalami to rush down to ask rock and plead with gej not to even contest the election results in court. https://www.nairaland.com/2235920/phone-call-save-nigeria-bbc Actually I agree with what you said, not clear on the OBJ pick because remember Prince Charles came in quietly to Abuja prior to the announcing or selection of Yar Adua |

Amitex: Let me use this medium to appeal to NDA to give the government proposed dialogue a chance. It is true that successive Nigerian governments have not been trustworthy, they should be given a chance to look at the issues and grievances raised by NDA.
Government on the other hand should be sincere for once. It is not about giving contracts to a few individuals, it goes beyond that. Government should show commitment by first re-opening the Maritime University. They can make Oron a Campus of the university and push for the speedy enactment of the PIB and ensure that at least host communities benefit from oil revenue. These quick-wins would allow for further improvements in the lives and ecosystem of the ND region. There should be deliberate government effort to develop the ND. If the government can budget $5b to rebuild NE deliberately destroyed by the people of the region, nothing stops the government from Budgeting at least $20b to develop key infrastructure in ND. Sending military tanks can never solved anything. At least we can all see that nothing is being achieved on that front.
Reasoning and dialogue based on openness and sincerity is what is needed at this time of our nationhood. So you have opened the same thread again. Why nah? Not too many responses or what |

Kalaada: i am shocked at the comments made on this page, this is a welcomed development and all people can do is poke holes.. na wao! you say it is because they want to handover to their children..well is there any precedence for that? did Tinubu's father hand over to him, even Obasanjo and IBB's kids are no where to be found on the Nigerian political scene. Nigeria is not like Saudi Arabia they system maybe corrupt; however merely being a son of a politician does not guarantee your being in power. Matter of fact most children of Naija big men are actually dullards, most of our politicians started from humble backgrounds eg GEJ, yeah you can mention Yaradua that had rich family members but so did the Bush family of America..
I thought youths will be jubilation but it seems Nigerians want to success to be spoon fed to them, for those of us saying that no Nigerian youth can afford expensive senatorial or governorship form,... political positions like that are not meant for poor people.. I believe even in the US you have to a certain level of financial worth to be President. A man who cannot create wealth for himself will he create wealth for the nation. Any body who cannot bring out at least 2 Million Naira to buy a form for Governorship or Senator shouldn't bother running. Some of the greatest leaders of men were born dust poor (Christ) or orphans (Mohammed), some sons of farmers (Awolowo) others sold into slavery (HRH King Jaja of Opopo/ Joseph of the Old Testament) and on and on. Thus, having or acquiring wealth as a requirement or suggestion in order to run for office in a third world nation is in itself inherently corrupt. Do you know why the Youths are not so enthusiastic and dancing to Davido on this bill? Because they have woken up a few years back and have seen they have been led by mostly the wealthy and highly connected leaders through civilian, military, clergy, traditional rulerships, academia, and virtually every major institute that affects them directly, all to no avail. You doubt the children of the wealthy and connected (who go abroad for school, to shop, vacation, to give birth, for medical issues like our so-called Ear and maybe cancer infected presido) won't simply come back to take positions or rig/right themselves in? Maybe you haven't heard of the Sarakis in Kwara. I doubt you in 1990 (if you were even born then) would have thought that former military dictators would have been presiding years later as civilian presidents in Africa's "largest" democracy. Some of those coupist even "created wealth for themselves" at the expense of folks like you, perhaps explaining your fantasy of money money money. So no, there are important issues at hand and not cheap popularity stunts |

onatisi: Now it is becoming glaringly clear why tinubu and obj forced buhari on apc as their candidate . They knew buhari may not last long effectively in power and the vice president will be the one ruling the nation. This is the main reason tinubu wanted to secure the vice presidential slot for himself. The best way to win a presidential seat in Nigeria without contesting any election is just to present a dumb deaf aboki and you are already the president. Now let's not get too carried away. You are right to an extent, but the Fulani are not that daft, and the Yoruba actually wanting to be President is far from the truth, because historically, that doesn't benefit them. It's all about sharing the wealth from the East/Midwest, and turning around to exploit that region in other aspects (seaports, airports, positions in political and quasi political areas I.e. Government/military/etc, and even renting of property in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, etc). The idea of another 4 years of a GEj tenure spelt the possible breakup of Naija, even with all the bad and good things under his regime |
