quote author=gaetano post=83133233]

You sign #AfCFTA, and then close your border, and then "completely" close the border.

All the while, ignoring that you've lost the ability (for years now), to effectively police the borders.

if you want to ban a commodity, you have to factor in the demand of the commodity and how much your people rely on it. You don't go and ban importation of Rice when the indigenous farmers don't have the necessary quantity demanded by the nationals. There should have been a timeframe before such is implemented

We go learn by force. Hardship will go round. [/quote]

Given enough time, nothing is ever really achied..There is no better time to stand up for Justice than now!
aaronson:
Regardless of this long list of demands, this was just a bad time to start this revolutionary movement, Not when we RELATIVELY peaceful with a stable economy. Sowore picked a wrong schedule for this movement.

Let's take a look at a recent mass protest (still on going by the way) in Hong Kong against the proposed extradition bill. That protest was quick to spiral out of control from mere protest into a revolutionary movement, this is why people are still on the streets of Hong Kong even after the suspension of the proposed Bill

Another scenario is that of France, where Macron hike the price for fuel, The protest turned to a yellow vest movement that kept occuring every weekend till the hike was reverted but the people still clamouring for Macron removal

Conclusion
Sowore could have concealed his revolutionary plans till a little uprising like fuel hike or workers strike or even End Sars protest to further take advantage of the situation turning it into his proposed revolutionary movement. Revolution just don't happen when peace and economic stability is thriving. He could be charged in court for Treason or even disturbing public peace.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Still As Corrupt As Before – Transparency International by menuBar(m): 1:16pm On Jan 29, 2019
What do you mean? Are you saying that this administration is fighting corruption as promised before winning the 2015 presidential election? If they are really fighting corruption then why are our soldiers still buying their uniforms and boots from the salary meant to feed their family?why are the Nigeria police paying kick backs from the 30,000 naira allowance paid to them in the north east? If a soldier is asked to provide his own uniforms then what stops a wealthy group of gangsters from forming their own army since they can just order the same military uniforms used by our soldiers? little wonder military uniforms meant for soldiers find their way to terrorists who use them to disguise when entering into maiduguri all dressed up just like our special forces.Mr president has failed in terms of the fight against corrupt public officials that is why allowances budgeted for troops find their way to the pockets of his generals who share ghana must go of money every month. Late Alex Baddeh was found wanting because he stole the allowances and money meant for arms procurement but then why did the EFCC stop the hunt with him? The revelation on how he stole should have made them to beem their search light on all past and present military generals but simply because he was the most senior military officer when Buhari's waec certificate went missing from the military records, the man faced the guillotine meanwhile the same circle of corrupt generals still share ghana must go every other month. With these, how can the war on terrorism in the north east ever come to an end? They war will continue because as i suspect ,the president and his men have discovered a new way to make cool blood money from collecting their returns from proceeds budgeted for the military.Find your way to the north east or better still approach any military man where you are,sit with him/her and be nice to them and ask if they have ever received any allowances since the death of president Yaradua, they will tell you NO.So where is all the allowance budgeted for our soldiers?

Some people ask; where are the achievements? Well, if they are of such mindset, unfortunately they can't be helped. We don't have the authority to mix spittle with clay, put on their eyes, and direct them to go to Siloam pool, wash, and come back seeing. Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn't see. If he decides to be willfully deaf, even if there are thunder by his ears, he won't hear.

The new acting CJN before now was the second in hierarchy to the suspended CJN.It will be improper to appoint a junior in hierararchy. When a governor is impeached it is the deputy that takes over command. It happens that the second in hierarchy is a northerner and a muslim.

Being a real soldier has always been risky from time memorial.I respect every soldier because they bleed, sweat, suffer and endure untold hardship and some even pay the supreme price(death) to keep my country safe. When i sleep at night, party in clubs,go to school,go to the beach with my family, discuss politics with my friends, these brave men are in their trenches sleepless in the sun, rain and cold stopping evil men and foreigners from stealing my peace. These soldiers know that Nigerian politicians are wicked but still hold the country together hoping that someday a new crop of selfless politicians who put honor before gratification will spring up and begin a new era of social justice...I will forever remain grateful to my country men who have choosen to sleep less for me to live well.

Dont be silly, How much does he earn to feed wives along with 32 kids? To pay school fees both university (probably overseas), primary, secondary school fees, nanny, Health bills, clothing etc.
The probably man is a multi millionaire because he certainly cannot afford that on his salary. He is obviously living above his means.
He must be extra ordinarily corrupt and i am sure the government had dug out dirt on him of which he must do their will.

woman take a chill pill.every man loves a lady that has a tight vagina.moreover the guy did not mention names.
highpriestess:

If only ladies will start applying some little sense after seeing how you men describe them after begging to sleep with them.
I'm sure you knelt down and promised her heaven and earth so that she can allow you put only the head. I'm sure you also gave her your life savings but the way you will come here to scribble bunkum just to garner some schmuck appraisals from uncouth talibans still amazes me.

Some of you Nigerian men are very much disgusting, immature, loud, lousy.
Geese!!!
If girls haven't learnt from the past one year you guys have been ranting and displaying your idiocy on this site, then the said lady is doomed.

You men are the biggest who're one can think of; worst is that you guys do with impunity, but believe me, some women are actually coming out stronger, this whoring thing is the new revolution on the female gender since you guys think is right to body shame women after doing the same thing with them.

Some of you guys have crayon dicks, sagged balls, the hole on the tip of your dick is so wide than the express way due to excessive cum, 1 minute men, very smelly putrid balls, but ladies hardly say bad about guys when they sleep with you men.

Every man has 53 litres of sperm to produce in his life span, but some of you have used 50l and not even married. Some of you no longer produce thick cum, your cum has become so transparent that it can't even impregnate a woman, cos of used and reused dick.
Let me stop here, but just know that this act of being lousy on social media is pitifully irritating and I believe ladies are so much learning( if only ladies can work their asses out, and stop depending on guys money, and parents stop depending on their daughters getting married to rich in law who would give them everything; something they didn't work for when they were young, then, most ladies will actually see the fact that some of you loud and uncouth men have little or no input)

Ps: my comment is for the loud and ill mannered men like this guy, I believe there are much mature men out there.

It is a known fact that the vast majority of Nigerians( those in the rural areas) do not care about debates and these are the main body of voters constituting more than 50% of the voting population. These set of voters who have been deliberately sidelined by the ruling class in terms of economic and political liberation do not understand the importance of watching a debate and that is if they even understand the language used in debating(English language). They are mostly uninformed about politics, their rights as citizens and mostly are convinced by their relious and ethnic inclination and bandwagon mentality. The ruling elites know this and use this weapon to defeat the unsuspecting rural majority.I weep for my Country.Wicked people everywhere...

Borno state has one of the largest uneducated population in Nigeria that is evident in how insurgency thrived so much till date. Most of them dont even know what happens in government but the educated once who do know about this government wont even waste their time visiting that venue. When you ask most of those uneducated majority why they want to vote APC,their answers will just not have any meaning to the enlightened mind. These Northern leaders know this and use the uneducated majority to their advantage. What a pity that my people suffer for their ignorance.how i wish they knew...

Politics / Nigeria Won't Get It Right With CAPITALISM alone. by menuBar(m): 10:14am On Jan 05, 2019
The beauty of the social science disciplines like sociology, anthropology, economics and political science is in it's resolve to identify and prescribe solutions to social institutional problems.

CAPITALISM is widely regarded as a system of economic production where the means of production are owned by those with access to power, prestige and wealth. The rest of the population lacking in power, prestige and wealth form the bulk of the population called the wage workers while the few who are wealthy are called the capitalists.

PREHISTORIC Africa( i.e before the invasion of Africa by Europe and before feudalism),largely practiced a homogeneous social system of hunting and gathering society. In this society, revenue was shared equally among members of a clan.

Nigerias POPULATION BEING ESTIMATED AT ABOUT 170,000,000 can't gain much with an annual budget of 8 trillion naira. If we take a hint from the industrialization era of Europe, when the cities began to get over populated because the people from rural areas migrated there in search for waged jobs, and the consequences such as inadequate housing, lack of proper health care services, poor working conditions etc,Nigeria can learn a lot from history.

My proposition is that the rural areas should be restructured to practice socialism while capitalism thrives in the cities with a budget of 8 trillion naira.Modalities on how this system will function can be carried out with the necessary support like a national conference.
Now i know many will have their say, please know that your knowledge might give birth to a new era in human history.
Education / Re: The Illegality Of NANS And Why They Don't Speak For Nigerian Students by menuBar(m): 8:59pm On Jan 03, 2019
Sir,in my own opinion you can sponsor a law suit against NANS.You will be making a name for being the first to identify this problem and the courts will then decide.
chieyine:
NANS as we all know means National Association of Nigerian Students and according to Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, A student is a person who is studying at a university or other place of higher education.
As such, we expect NANS leadership to come from students currently studying but what we have are people who delay going for the compulsory National Youth Service to as much as 5years in order to occupy NANS leadership position and as such preventing current students from occupying such positions
"According to NANS charter of demand, for undergraduates, you are a student until you go for your NYSC" but according to general meaning of students, their definition is as faulty as can be imagined.
I was shocked when I heard NANS writing to the Federal Government to be part of the negotiation between The FG and ASUU and I had to scrutinize the leadership of NANS.
It was shocking that all Major Exco in NANS are not students but one is tempted to ask

1. Why are all the excos of NANS not students still in school?
2. Since this people are not students, who gave non students the authority to speak for students?
3. Can a labourer negotiate wages for a banker? Why are they negotiating with the government?
4. I haven't read anywhere of NANS leadership meeting with ASUU to chart a way forward concerning the strike but they are more interested in meeting the FG. Is the purported meeting for students or for themselves
5. They claim to fight for students but the last time I heard about NANS standing on their feet and making their demands known was during the military regime. But this current crop, adorn their cars with NANS plate number.
One is left perplexed trying to decipher the source of livelihood of graduated students who have neither gone for NYSC nor are working.
I am a member of University of Nigeria Medical Students Association(UNMSA) and we have our National body called Nigeria Medical Students Association(NiMSA) and the members of these associations are strictly students who are still in school and does not include those who are looking for placement for their housemanship, you cannot go for NYSC without doing your housemanship.

Then why is that of NANS different?

I plead with President Buhari that this current crop of NANS do not represent The Nigerian Students and as such shouldn't be negotiated with or called to the Negotiation table.
And if our cars should get spoilt and we take it to the mechanic workshop, we do not negotiate with the apprentice without the Express approval of the main mechanic.
The FG should go back to the meeting table with ASUU and iron out their differences.

We want young blood in power but it won't happen so fast, some of them do not know they'll be contesting 3years ago, how do you expect them to win, just like that?

They have not contested for councilor, chairman, House of Assembly, Reps but suddenly want to be president, it's just like the case of Nigerian youths who want to get rich overnight without working hard for it.

Since they have introduced themselves to the us now, they can start building bridges, popularity and structures for future elections.

you must be very silly. Are we wiser than developed civilizations who have discovered the need to reduce crime in society by legalizing the use of marijuana? Mr Sowore said he would make Nigeria an Exporter of the product which will also boost our GDP.Confused people everywhere.

PreciousJuice:
The likes of sowore and Durotoye coming out to contest the presidency is a good indication that the youths will eventually take the wheels of this country from the Ancestors ruling us like its their birth right.
However, none of these young aspirants have what it takes to get this nation back on its feet at the moment.
Imagine sowore telling us he will legalise marijuana use to generate income cheesy, that is a catastrophic move in a fragile country like ours, things will definitely go out of control, legalising marijuana use is not the solution to our problems, it will only add more. For this reasons and many more let these young chaps keep contesting until the good old chaps get us back in the right track, then we can vote young minds to ensure we remain on the right path.
