Okay, I am back again, this is going to be very long don’t mind my typos, but I will section my stories in parts….
PART 1
So, this dream all started in 2017, I was so clueless but then I wanted to travel to Canada, I chose Canada over the USA as I found peace when I began nurturing Canadas thoughts.
So 2017, I got admitted to Conestoga college and I applied for my study permit in April 2018. June of 2018 I got rejected…..yeeeehh!!!!!. At that point, my life literally ended and started again in a heart beat. My best friend and I applied together in 2018, we drove ourselves to Lagos to submit our application, although he applied to the UK. He was already in the UK when I got my rejection. I was so depressed, nothing made sense to me anymore. I had to leave my house and move to my best friends house ( he just relocated but all his stuffs were still in his house) I parked my car in his compound, locked myself indoor, I didn’t step out, matter of fact, my car battery drained out. I almost turned to a monster, no hair cuts, I wasn’t bathing. Ah!!!! It was a very hard time for me. But I fought the depression and came out of it. During my voluntary house arrest, I stumbled on NL joined and started reading ( I opened a new user name which is what I am writing with now), ordered for my notes( refusal reasons were Purpose of visit, personal assets and financial status and travel history). NL actually gave me up again. All thanks to this family.
So in April of 2019, I reapplied again, like a guru hehehe…..But hell no!!! Another rejection came again in June of the same year. Ahhhh!!!! I ordered for my notes and I was rejected only for Personal assets and financial status this time.
Deferred my admission again, 2020 came with Covid, so I didn’t apply I was taking my time and watching the Covid thread.
So after these 2 rejections, I reapplied in May 2021, the long waiting started, in September 6th 2021, I joined the online classes without visa, I sent IRCC my enrollment letter so they know I have started classes. But no way! I got a rejection (same as the previous reason, Financial and personal assets) on the 27th of September 2021. Ah!!!! Aiye mi oooo!!
I was devastated, I groaned for a couple of days, but I was still receiving classes. I picked myself up and reapplied again on the 7th of October 2021. Around November 2021, I had to stop classes as decision was not forthcoming, and I will lose my complete tuition as there was a due date for it.
I deferred, and got a new LOA for 2022 term. Another long wait…….then in March 3rd 2022….another rejection shocker for the 4th time..Eweeeeeeeee!!! (For another baseless reason with the same generic refusal letter) Imagine, this time when I ordered for my gcms notes(well, I never missed ordering for my notes after every rejection), the vo said my LOA and enrollment letter looked fake! I was like and you guys couldn’t contact my college to re-confirm, or send me a procedural fairness letter?? Shey nah outright refusal be the next thing…….
I was down in the dump and frustrated, but something kept speaking to my spirit ‘This is a good case at the Federal Court’.
I picked myself up again in couple of days, then that spirit whispered to me again ‘you can’t keep doing the same thing, and expecting to get a different answer’
So, I contacted an immigration lawyer(All thanks to Legacyedition and Frankroobin) , I narrated my stories to the Lawyer in Canada. He was mad! He said my application and UCI has been stereotyped by IRCCs software ( the almighty chinook 3+ software). He said I will keep getting an automatic rejection on every application so a Judicial Review would be my best bet.
I filed for a JR at the Federal Court on the 8th of March 2022, it was too expensive but I didn’t mind. I won settlement out of court on the 25th of April 2022. My refused application was reopened on the 6th of May 2022, and I was sent a request letter to submit updated bank statement, LOA, letter of explanation etc.....I submitted them on the 16th of May 2022.
Another waiting began! This time, I had already grown flesh…I was just busy with other things, praying, and waiting for my approval. Started classes again without visa on the 6th, that was 3 days ago .
But yesterday being the 7th of September 2022, my long awaited PPR came like a thief in the night…..!!! All honor and praises to HIM who sits on the throne. Thank you JESUS… What God cannot do does not exist.
I will be sharing the documents I submitted in my PART 2 and also share my JR journey in PART 3.
But in the interim, I won sharply submit my passport, Abeg make una help me with the updated passport submission requirements for Lagos and Abuja. I had my biometric in Lagos, I can’t find my biometric slip. I am waiting for a response regarding this. Thank you.

The request letter was for me to send updated bank statement, LOA, IMM forms if anything has changed in them as my refused application got reopened, so they needed those documents to continue processing my application.

Phew! it was a long journey that began in 2017 after attempting and researching on various routes to relocate to Canada. Express entry, provincial nominee applications, coupled with IELTS tests all expired without any success. I eventually made via study route. First-time applicant, having read almost all the information about Canada study visa on here, thread to thread, page by page, morning and night. My application took 12 weeks and some days before I got medical request. Before I got the request, I decided do a medical upfront. Low and behold I got a medical request on my appointment date at the IOM office. My time-line • Biometrics: May 27, 2022 • Medical request: August 10, 2022 • Medical Passed: August 18, 2022 • BVL:25-08-2022 • PPR: 25-08-2022 Documents Submitted 1. SOP (Well-detailed 4 pages with referenced links, it took me months to finish since my application required some explanation because I had previously completed a master’s program in England. After a very long wait, I finally got my PPR yesterday 10th of August. I pray The Almighty GOD grant every applicant their heart desires too �. I submitted my application February 22, 2022. Did biometric February 24th. And that's when the long wait started. But thank GOD it ended in praise.
However, I was told that I will not be issued visa that is beyond the expiry date of my passport. My passport has just 8 months to expiry date, which means that it will not cover the duration of my studies. I need to do a new passport ASAP. Please does anyone has a way of helping? I am in Lagos.

Let me be the first person to say your congratulations are in order…… Start dusting your passport for submission. A decision has been made which I know it an approval…..
I have finally confirmed It's not a dream; it's real. It's PPR!!!!
Got a email notification from IRCC around 9:30 am on June 27 to check my mail for a message. Without delay and with my inner eyes raised to, and fixed on, he who lives in the highest heavens, I logged in to my portal. I scrolled up slowly as I didn't want to rush it. I saw "You have 2 messages" on my dashboard, my shaky heart was strengthened because I thought to myself that PPR often comes with it's twin brother, BVL. Yet I continued scrolling up in slow motion; lo and behold, it was PPR and it's twin. Then I glanced at the "Final decision" section and saw "Your application was approved...". Guys! Only heaven could say how large my heart dilated in joy.
I needed to take the whole day to be sure I wasn't seeing a vision or having a daydream, and share with some families and friends.
Further below you'll find my timeline. But before that, it may interest you to know that my story is quite unusual. And since I joined Nairaland, I haven't seen any one similar. Yes, it's unusual. And I mean every bit of it.
To give you an idea of what I mean:
1) FIRST TIME APPLICANT
2) DID EVERYTHING MYSELF WITHOUT MUCH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE (submitted my application just month after joining Nairaland)
3) 38 years old with very little or no secular work experience (there's a reason for that, though). Single, but not yet searching. lol!
4) Currently not working (though was doing an online course that is not even related to my prospective program - Philosophy)
5) As a logical follow-up of no.4, no personal assets ( there's a reason, though). Didn't submit any personal Bank statement; just my sponsor's. People are refused visa on the basis of lack of financial/personal assets. But I got approval; what God cannot do does not exist.
6) SPONSORED BY A MATERNAL UNCLE (Mum's immediate younger brother) living and working in the US as a medical doctor. (Third-party sponsored applications have up to 95 - 98% refusal; practically all approvals I've seen on Nairaland are either self-sponsored, spouse-sponsored, parent-sponsored). But I got approval; God too strong o.
As you can see, what we call "red flags" abound. Plus a plethora of other imperfections i noticed in my application after I had submitted, as I got more enlightened following people's inputs on Nairaland. In fact, when I read people's refusal reasons and the watertight application of approved ones, I felt there was no need to keep deceiving myself. I never gave up trusting in God, though. Tell me why we can't call it a miracle from the Most High.
TIMELINE
- Application Submitted - MAY 11
- Biometrics - MAY 12 ( Lagos)
- Upfront medicals done - MAY 9
- Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after webforms and emails sent to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mid-June. Once.)
- Eligibility Started same JUNE 22
- PPR and BVL - JULY 27
Total duration of my application is therefore 10 weeks and 2 days.
Will come back for DOCUMENTS Submitted (They are not that much). Some unanswered questions on this thread will find responses with my case.

KINDLY NOTE, HOWEVER: each person's case is unique. I tailored my LOE and I believe honesty pays. Know your case and present a tailor-made application. No complications.

CentennialGuy: It is possible. I've seen it happened twice. See attached for the second time. This person got BVL, medical request and PPR on the same day. God was favouring this person but village people were after her. She didn't discover it until over a month later (Peep the date she saw and read the message compared to the date the messages dropped.)

Please raise a webform and send the data page of your new passport as soon as possible. You really don’t want them to use your expired travel document against you. Also send an email to Nairobi, Abuja, China, and London office.

To think that I was drafting the email/webform I would send to to IRCC yesterday once my application got to 12weeks and no response and just today I reluctantly checked my email and it was PPR.
