Next01:Your application will be approved if you meet the requirements regardless of your itinerary. I applied for my mum in May to come for my graduation that was on the 22nd of June. Travel date was June 10th. Visa was approved July 5th. I don't think they work with our travel dates. Students get approval after resumption date has passed. So you might just need to change your travel date. Hope you didn't buy a ticket already? |
DereI:Vancouver Island university has a pre-MBA program for people with 2:2 or switching careers. I think its for 3-6 months. Not sure. But a friends wife did it last year and then got into MBA. She got admission for MBA but on the condition that she would do the pre-MBA program. |
I stated my reason for going for a PGD (Cgpa 2.91) which most Master program required 3.0 and above.[/quote I went for PGD and this was the reason I gave. Am surprised. |
Hi everyone, I am new here and have read quite well on the thread. I have some questions which I have tried to find possible answers to through the thread but want to be 100% sure to avoid waste of money, energy and time for a study permit when I get an admission. I'll be very glad if the gurus in the house help me. You can direct your questions to the student thread. You will get a lot of advice from people there- https://www.nairaland.com/3649314/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/286 |
bbclue:2. If you have ever applied for a Canadian visa or PR before. If you have then its YES, if not, then NO. |
Qadi:Yes you can--http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=487&top=15 |
Sarang:Since you have a company you should be able to know what a tax clearance is. You should get them from FIRS. If you are going as a student, please go to https://www.nairaland.com/3649314/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/286 |
Sarang:can you please rephrase"But if an just like a student visits someone are they not more sure to come back?" |
Sarang:for visa fee-http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=NG&lob=trv You can put both of your account statements. Saying you own a company is good a home tie but you have to all your registration documents and tax papers. |
Solemidayo:At this point you can send an email to Accra. Quote your name, DOB passport number and DLI number. It makes it easier for them to track your application with your DLI number. Make sure you use the email you put on your application form. |

DereI:lol. Guess I was just lucky. But my apartment had someone there already so I also spoke with the person. The landlord lives upstairs and was renting the apartment downstairs out. I responded to your pm. Am at work. Cant talk. |
DereI:Having a bad experience doesn't mean that you cant find an apartment on craigslist. You can still use craigslist especially if you are in BC. That's what most of us here use. Kijiji is also good but you wont see a lot of apartments on it. I got a place on craigslist and paid for it without seeing it. I did a video call with the landlord and he showed me around the apartment which matched what he put on craigslist. Also told him to go outside and show me the front view, I matched that against what I saw on google when I put in the address. I paid for the house a month before I started leaving there. I wont tell you I wasn't scared even when I landed in Vancouver but when you commit everything to God, he will take care of it. So my dear, you can still look on craigslist. My best advice is to start making contacts about a week before you leave. Schedule house viewing 2 days before you get in. When you get there, you can stay in a hotel for 2 days and view the houses you have seen. Trust me you can get a house a day or 2 after you land. |
stjsd:I applied May 9th but she did biometrics on May 19th. But I sent in a CSE form and 2 emails asking them to look into her application cos she was leaving for the UK. It was approved a day b4 she left. I have received an email from them telling her that she can submit at the VFS London office. If you have proof of travel plans made, you can send an email. |

CaptainCanny:This will be dicey if you are on a visiting visa. You have to show why you are not able to apply from your own country. A reason might be that you are not going to Nigeria within 3 months but that will raise questions if you are working. My mums visiting visa was approved after she had left Nigeria for London. The VFS office didn't take her passport for stamping without a letter from Accra immigration authorizing them to stamp her passport. I got an authorization from them after sending an email with her UK visa, entry and exit stamps and flight ticket to show that she will be flying to Canada from the UK without visiting Nigeria. So be careful. |
gbfav:if its not allowing you to submit then, fill in the city and country of birth. Visitors visa(outside) Canada means you are applying from outside Canada. I don't think they are the same. |
Zoegirl91:I applied for my mum May 9th online. Was approved last week July 5th. I think email is the best way to communicate with them. I never got a response till date when I sent the CSE form. I sent them an email and they told me they would send me a passport request letter the next day and they did. |
wealth360:My brother travelled with them from the UK to Nigeria last month. Funny enough that was the first time I have heard of them. He said it was good. No complaints. |
My mum is currently in the UK and will come to Canada from there. Has anyone submitted his/her passport in another country other than the country you applied from? I called VFS Lagos and they said I can submit it anywhere in the world but VFS UK said I should get a letter from Accra immigration first before submitting. Any thoughts on this? Please, please, please. I know its not study visa.Help |

gentleiphy:I don't know anything about cancelling an application. Travel dates don't really affect applications. If everything is correct, they wont deny the visa because of mixed up dates. You can always send an email to them quoting the ULI number and clarify it. I advice people to put between 2-3 weeks on a visiting visa application. When she gets here, she can stay for 6 months. Have you heard of the super visa for parents since you have PR? She will get 10 years visa and can stay 2 years in row. The processing time is longer though. Next time do it yourself. I applied for my mum in May. did everything from here. Got approved the other day. I just put 2 weeks but she will stay 2 months. If the person stays longer, the onus is on you to provide for her . Also anything more than 3 months requires travel health insurance. |
Osemigho:A friend of mine used Egypt air to Toronto, he said ok flight. I used Turkish airline; excellent service. I heard Ethiopia is the best amongst the cheap airlines. Turkish airline is not cheap though but less than klm and the rest of them. |
Believe13:You can apply for visa from anywhere in the world but the problem is always your immigration status in the country you are applying from and I also heard someone was denied based on the embassy not being able to verify documents on time since he was not applying from his home country. I know a couple of people that tried it and it worked. They had to write really convincing letter of explanation as to why they were applying from a country other than their country of residence. Its the same process and even faster. I will try it for my mum when she gets. She will apply for her US visa from Canada. I think it will be easier since she has to be interviewed. She will be able to explain why she is applying from Canada and not Nigeria. |
Sugaro:Send an email to accraimmigration@international.gc.ca or you use the CSE form. |
hi All, Is there any fee to paid when submitting your passport after receiving the passport request message? |

bestbuyer:1 & 2- yes you need to scan and upload all supporting documents. I know there is a space limit but am not sure. some people know how to reduce the size after saving it on pdf. google is your friend. I think @jawa will know. 3. there is room for later upload if and when they request for additional documents. When my mum received her UK visa, I scanned it and sent through email and CSE form to them as added travel history which they acknowledged they received. 4. if you are doing online, you have to pay for biometrics fee online immediately before you can get a confirmation of submission letter. 5. you don't need to scan your "IMM" forms. Download them, fill them on your laptop, validate the main visa application form and upload. I filled 2 forms for my mum, the TRV form and family form. the family form doesn't need to be signed orvalidated. Just fill and upload. |
