dear passionup, you wouldnt want to stress yourself so take your child along. for the amount, you can apportion the money whatever way you want in your statement of purpose as the very primary applicant (i assume its a family application) stating the total and how it will be spent in full details. make sure not to budget everything in your account as the VO may worry that you have nothing to fall back on back home and may consequently point him to think you plan not to return home. you can state you plan to bear the entire financial burden and your wife and child have zero cost implication on this trip. a family application is a holistic approach and your qualification will most likely qualify them but of course, this is at the full discretion of the VO. best of luck.

My bad. Was at work. anyone less than 14 years and over 79 don't need to give biometrics.

Wii derail a bit cos I am so super excited. My mums visiting visa got approved. I applied online for her May 10th. Sent CSE once and email 2x. I sent the last email yesterday and they responded me saying that I will get a passport request message soon. This morning I received it.
I am writing this for the mothers struggling to leave their kids behind. YES YOU CAN. I left my barely 1 year daughter on the 14th of December, 2014. I left her behind for a purpose. Undivided attention in my studies. I made my school deans list with gpa of 4.0 and won the best international student award in business school. I finished school December 26th and landed a good job January 15th, 2017.
I am now ready to see my daughter after 2 and half years who will be coming with my mum this July.
So my dear mothers(married or single mums) in this forum, you can do it. Focus on what's in front. Leave emotions behind.

I sent another email yesterday pleading with them to please process my mums application. They responded that they will send me a passport request shortly. This morning I saw application approved and passport request message. I am so happy. My mum is coming with my daughter that I have not seen for 2 and half years cos of school. I applied online for her on May10th.

Hello everyone, I intend to submit a TRV application soon with my family. I am the sole sponsor and while filling the form, there is a question on funds available for the trip. Since I had stated the funds available in my own application form, should I repeat same amount on my wife's application? I need guidance here. Anyone between the age of 14 and 79years don't need to give biometrics. I don't know about being present for submission. you can share the bulk amount and put on each application but on your affidavit of support and letter of explanation, you can quote the full amount as money available for the trip and its a family trip. They know already.

Hello all, for everyone still waiting to hear from CIC, Accra just replied my email and the reason they gave is that there's increase in the number of applications for temporary residency ( visit, study and work). So I think for now, people should just stick to applying via paper route, Accra is so loaded ATM.

Its the general email they send to you once you send an email. if they will answer you, you will receive an email after this. I also got this when I sent them an email.

Pls i will like to know if i can recall my passport from Canada Visa office when the process takes longer than my expectation because of another pending travel to US.

If i can recall, how long does it take for me to get it back. My US trip is mid August and can't afford to miss the trip.

Secondly, can i return my passport back to Canada Visa Office or VFS for continued process on my return or i need to restart another visa fee and process again.

A friend got her visa approved within 10 days including her sister's application too. I will be going for biometrics on 07/07/2017.

My best advice is for you to do an online submission. I don't know anything about recalling your passport and how long it takes. I think you can cancel within 7 days of applying. Not too sure. I am still waiting for my mums visa. She applied for UK and got it within 2 weeks. The plan now is that she will leave for the UK this Thursday and when her visa is approved, we will send her passport via DHL to the embassy from the UK. So if you are doing an online application, you can go to that hehe US. You also have 30 days to submit your passport when it's requested. Maybe by that time you can come back. If it paper application, am not too sure of you getting it before August. When did your friend apply and from where? Nigeria?

1 year will either give you 1 year or 2 years work permit depending on the VO. Some of my friends that did 1 year got 1year, some got 2 years. I think it depends on the VO. For you to get 3 years, u have to do at least 2 years program and up.

Your documents are good but the only issue I have is that the program you are going for is over rated by universities and colleges . What you are going for is something you can even do on the side while doing a master's program. There is no masters in IT business analysis but you can get trainingfrom companies accredited by the institute of international business analysis (IIBA). When you are done with your training you register for your certification exam with IIBA. Am saying this because I am taking my 1st stage of the certification exam process in September. After your 1 year program which you have spent so much to do, you will still have to write a certification exam with IIBA. When I saw the cost of 1 year certification, I decided to use Google and I found a company in Australia that offered a good price. I paid $900 dollars for two courses which I did and completed online in April. They give you up to a year to do the program. With the credit I got, I can register for my certification.

I suggest you go for master in information technology like most Nigerian friends I have did. While in school they have been taken side professional courses like ITIL and co.I wish you had come here before you applied. It's a total waste of resources for something you can get on your own.

It won't. This is just to show him how the study permit looks like if he gets his visa approved. This is the document that will be issued to him when he arrives Canada at the imigration border. Please tell him not to submit this. It's just a sample

You can't apply for a work permit while applying for your study permit. I wonder which school told you that. And there is really no delay in getting it. It takes about 30 working days. I don't know about your school but my program had a one term internship too which you will apply for after completing a certain amount of courses and maintain a certain GPA. The school will then give an authorization letter and introduction letter to apply for the co-op work permit. It's different from the normal 20 hour a week work permit. It allows you to work more than 20 hours a week while in school. So just apply for your study permit for now.

What makes you think that VOs are kinda funny when it comes to applications like this? Having a baby in the US or Canada has nothing to do with travel history or purpose. She has not shared her profile so we cant judge. It might be funds if she is travelling with her baby. She has to show funds for daycare for her baby and email correspondence between her and a proposed daycare in Canada. If she is not travelling with her, she has to show how she will be cared for when gone.I had my baby in the US and applied when she was 8months and I left when she wasn't even a year. I still got TRV. I was advised not to include her in my application because she doesn't even need a visa anyways.. It was a very good tie for me. But I had to provide school registration for her how she will be taken care of while I am away. So it really depends on a lot of things.

It was a long process but i was able to check it.

What I saw is:
Final decision: Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.

But VFS tracking is still saying its been processed.

That's great. you can call VFS and ask if your passport has been dispatched. I guess you should get an email from them. But calling wont do any harm.

This should be of help to all those trying to link their paper to online application, I had same issue but had it resolved after following these steps.

I have listed steps to link your Paper application to CIC Online

(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as visitors visa(outside Canada).
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.

(10) Select applicant's Current country of residence (For example, if your spouse currently living in Nigeria, Please select Nigeria)
(11) Select Current marital Status
((13) Once you fill all information, Click on Search for my application
(14) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(15) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I hope this information will help you...!!! Its not detailed. You can figure out the process as you go along. shocked

Try and link your application online. you will get updates as your application progresses. You can also send an email to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca or raise a CSE form online. Its past the processing time.

There is only one Nigerian embassy in Canada and its in Ottawa. Atimes Nigerian associations in each province brings them to their province to make it cheaper for people. Depending on where you live, flight ticket to Ottawa might cost you about c$1000. Another option is checking the nearest Nigerian embassy in the US to you. Check the cost of the flight and if you have a valid US visa, go there and do it. It cost me C$300 to fly from Vancouver to new York to renew my passport against C$800 I would have spent going to Ottawa.

you cant renew study permit. You can only extend it with valid reasons. You can renew TRV.

I applied March 21, online and nothing yet, in fact I only got updates on my application about 2 weeks back, apparently, they just started work on my application.

Is your eligibility under review? I saw an update that's its in progress and they will send an email when they start reviewing eligibility.

They will ask you for your passport if TRV is approved but you have to go with it. Don't drop it.

From what I understand when someone decides to sponsor you, the onus is no longer on you to provide proof of funds. My dad swore at affidavit that he would pay for my upkeep and all after paying full tuition fees and that he had no other dependent. that was in 2014. I know its harder now. So you can add your just to show ties and all.

PGD gives you an advantage when applying for masters. It all depends on the program and school. I did global business management and going for an MBA. Some schools I have contacted will waive between 6-8 courses so far I have 75% and above which I do. It shortens the program and will save cost for me. My undergraduate degree will still be used as well as GMAT which cant be waived.

Your purpose of travel is all documents related to your trip. Put the film festival tickets, and any activity you will be doing. There is really no format. But your write up will be on the letter of explanation section if you are applying online. don't know about paper application

Yes break it down on each form. They also know you are travelling as a family. On your letter of explanation you can then say that you have a total of 10k for the trip. Sorry am responding late. Time difference.
