Yjc07:Just put todays date on all of them. They now he is not employed |
Yjc07:That's ok then |
Yjc07:Do you have an invitation from the film festival organizers? |
Yjc07:I put the same date as the day I was applying and validating the form. I guess they understand it means till date. If you are attaching a letter of explanation, just mention that you are currently employed. |
petersomond:I don't know what the cost is like. The problem is that I don think that there is any training here that will fetch you a work permit afterwards cos most of them should be less than 8 months. Have you been travelling? Do you have an international passport already? Cos I know how some of my friends that have never travelled before tackled the issue of age was to use an affidavit of age declaration and not their original birth certificate(declared it lost). But it has to tally with your international passport. |
petersomond:It will really be difficult. The purpose of visit is very sketchy. A very sharp VO will see this as just an opportunity to travel. Are you currently employed? If you are, then you need a very strong introduction letter from your employer to say that whatever you are going for is for the benefit of the company. Its a dicey one. At this stage, they expect you to go for professional trainings, seminars and conferences. You might look at Express Entry since you have lots of experience. You can also look for a short course related to what you are doing. Mind you, anything less that a year(8 months) or a year will fetch you just a year work permit. You have to find a skilled job immediately you finish. Also while here, you can apply for express entry. You can give it a short. I hope you have strong home ties, apart from your job. |
Its advisable not mandatory to notarize an invitation letter especially when you are taking some responsibility in the trip. The few I have sent to my friends, I had them notarized because I mentioned I would be providing them with accommodation and meal. it all depends. Applying with your wife is not a guarantee that you both will get the visa. its at the discretion of the VO. my uncle applied with his wife and the wife's visa was denied because no bank statement, employment letter or proof of income for the wife. based on the reason they gave for the wife's refusal, I suggest he puts some documents no matter how little she has. @nampofo, I suggest you ask your brother-in-law to apply for gcms notes. That's the only thing that will show you the exact reason for your refusal. It takes a little time but most people use it to address the issues pointed out b4 reapplying. Its also the gcms notes that the next VO handling your new application would refer to. |
@Nampofo Question 1-do you have any property? Attach the dopcuments. Pension statement, marriage certificate. If you apply for a family visit it will ask you fill a family form. The form will show if you have family in Nigeria. the VO wants to see the home ties you have. You prove this with property docs, pension statement, employment and family. If your employer is aware of your travel, they will have to state on the intro letter that they are aware and that you will return to work after 2 weeks. If you were granted a leave letter, attach it to your application. Since its the same Co, one introduction letter will serve. but each person has to be introduced on a different paragraph with name, DOB, passport number, length of employment, salary and all. Or it can be 2 different letters. your daughter doesn't need an introduction letter. Question3-your brother in law should send you a notarized invitation letter saying that he will be providing you with accommodation and meal. BY doing this, he reduces the financial burden on you a bit. He will also have to send his pay stub or bank statement to show that he is financially capable of taking care of 3 people. He will have to send proof of his address or lease agreement. Go to cic.gc.ca and see sample of the IV letter and format You have to show about $3-$5k for the trip minus airfare. you also have to include an affidavit of sponsorship since your wife is not earning much. Your daughter needs a letter showing that school will be on vacation during the period you are travelling. Question 13. Add both statement of account even though she has little. atimes they want to see activity to prove that she is working. For a family of 3, consider that tickets for 3 of you will cost about $7,500-8,000. These are things they will check. That will leave you with about $5k. Then you factor in other things. They also don't expect you spend your whole money on a trip. Question 6-apply as soon as possible. The processing time is getting longer every day. If you have all your documents, you can apply in July but latest in August. An immigration consultant told me that what Canada looks as Travel history is UK, Europe and US. All these other countries are easy to go into. Question5- I suggest you apply as family visit. Question 4- I did my mums application online and it asked for booking reservation. You should either use an agent or go online and make a reservation. Attach it to your application. Depending on the province/city that you are going. I prefer flying into Toronto and getting a local flight to wherever am going. It is always cheaper Because the cheap airlines don't really go to many cities. But all of them flies into Toronto. Try Turkish, Ethiopia and Egypt. They are the cheapest 3. Air Maroc is cheap too. I know I have not being able to answer all your questions, some other people can chip in. |
manlikegb:Real estate is business related. its does show some progression. Apart from my employment papers, I had to submit proof that I engaged in business related trainings. I submitted certificates of training that I took-PMP, Microsoft Project office training, primavera and co. I also submitted pictures of trade fairs that I went to in Paris, Amsterdam and Dubai. Anything to show that you have been in the business world. Are you self-employed? If you are, what happens to your business when you travel? You have to convince the VO that your business will run smoothly when you are gone with proof and you are going for this program to get more knowledge on how to effectively run and manage your business. I had 3.0gpa so I couldn't go into MBA. I also wrote that I was going for a PGD because of my low gpa which the VO knows is difficult to get into an MBA with. When you are done, you can go for an MBA but you still need to write GMAT for some schools. The schools I contacted don't waive it even with the PGD but they can wave courses. With the PGD, you can shorten your MBA program. MUM told me I can finish it in 2 semesters cos they will wave about 7 courses for me. Its not about saying that you have a registered company, you have to show that you have been running the company if that's your source of income or if you want to use it as a base for going for global business management. |
Douglaseguakun:You have every right to shun your degree. I have always been business oriented but cause my dad is a professor of Nuclear Engineering, he doesn't believe in any Arts or social science course. Most of us were made to take 1st degrees that we didn't want. I shunned my BSc in Pure and Industrial chemistry. Moved into working for an import and export company. Applied for TRV to study PGD in global business management and I got it. Follow your heart and your passion my dear. You will excel when you are doing what you want to do. |
Olufemiopa:You can go for an MBA and major in Marketing. |
careerwoman:I didn't know that I could bombard them with emails. I invited my mum for my graduation tomorrow the 22nd. Applied may 10th. Till today nothing. I know she cant make it again but I need to still see my mum. Not seen her for 2 years +.The problem is that my mum needs to go to the UK for my sisters graduation on July 12th and wants to buy a return ticket with a stop over in the UK. Do you advise I send them emails? |
prettytolar:Google has the answer |
nnwanguma:I paid $185. I applied for my mum to visit me for my graduation. I paid from Canada. |
Please what's the best way to make enquiry on an application? Send an email or submit the case enquiry form? |
Please how do I raise a CSE form? Still searching online. Does anyone have a link to it? Thank you. |
Igbouwanile:BC-vancouver |
Jamiedani:If you really want to use an agent go for MAPLE education based on success rate. I heard its now $1500. The owner is an accredited Canadian immigration consultant. I used them and I was impressed with their services. Be ready to get a lot of documents. They don't leave any stone unturned. |
Avalon316:Like I said it all depends on the VO. You can get a 2 or 3 years work permit after finishing a 2 year program. Some of my friends that did my program got 2 years. Officially they don't give less than the length of your program. A friend did 1 year and got 2 years. Another friend did 1 year and got 1 year. So its at the discretion of the VO. I found out that my friends that got 2 years work permit after a 2 year program finished in less that 24 months. I still have friends that completed their program in 16months and got 3 years. |
khasm:Depending on the VO handling your file, he/she can give you 2 or 3 years work permit when you study a 2 year program. I did 2 years PGD. I made sure I did it for 2 years and only went to school during winter and fall session(September-April) of each year and worked full time during spring and summer. Most of my friends that finished in 16-18 months by going to school in spring/summer got 2 years. It all depends. |
Anfieldboss:All the answers to your question is on google. Go to the website of the province. MUN is one of the cheapest school in Canada. Their tuition is cheap in order to attract people to their province. Its also a lot easier getting your PR from there but you have to prove that you will live there for sometime. My friends there do the normal part-time job of cashier and all. Go on google, you will find all you need. |
khasm:I graduated in December and I applied for my post study work permit. My study visa expired on march 30th together with my temporary resident visa. After I got my 3 years work permit, I had to renew my TRV to allow me travel and re-enter Canada. |
CanadianNurse:My study permit and TRV had the same expiry date. I got my PSWP in February. When I renewed my TRV, the expiry date was also the same with my PSWP. |
Jay2prosper:Please think 2x before advising people wrongly. Your study permit is not a visa neither is it a travel document. You can have a valid study permit or work permit but you cant enter without a valid TRV. Your TRV has multiple entry not your study permit and you cant be going to school from naija. I travel to the US every other month and has never been asked to present my study permit. They check the validity of my TRV and ask for your status. Its at the discretion of the immigration officer to ask for your study permit when you tell him/her that you are a student and wants to confirm. But always have it on you whenever you are leaving the country. |
CanadianNurse:If his TRV is still valid, then its not an issue. If its not, then he has to renew it before he can travel. Your study permit does not allow you re-entry into Canada. I just renewed mine. It took 10days to process. He doesn't need to do bio-metrics or medicals. Cost is C$100. |
Yomalicious:Sure. The problem is that when I reply to an email from naira land it bounces back. I have not been able to communicate with people that has sent me emails this month. You can try and if doesn't work, we will figure out how to talk if I cant get through to you. |
Yomalicious:I can only comment on the family related issue- So far the course you are going for is related to your present occupation, its not a problem. I think you can sponsor yourself but make sure that there is a sworn affidavit from your husband that while you are gone, he will be responsible for your children's upkeep financially so they wont be any financial burden on you. Do not include any of your family in your application. its a very strong tie. I left my daughter back home when I came because she is a US citizen and doesn't need a visa. Make sure you attach their birth certificates and passport pages. Attach their school admission letter and their school fees receipts to show that they will be in school when you are gone. Its very important. I did that. In my SOP I wrote that my mother will be taking care of my daughter and they will visit me whenever I am on summer vacation. They want to see plans you have made for the children you are leaving behind. |
Teepee85:I can only comment on your 2nd question. There are jobs in every country including Nigeria. You have to prove that you are the most qualified and the best candidate each time you apply for a job. The truth is that each hiring manager is different. I finished in December, moved to Vancouver on January 15th and by the 18th I had a job offer letter. I did a PGD in global business management also. I still have friends that did masters but have not found a good full time job. So my dear, it all depends on what you are looking for after school. In the cause of my job search, I hardly saw any job Ad that asked for a Masters degree. If you have previous work experience from Nigeria, it helps a lot. The course I did gave me an opportunity of doing a 4 months internship which helped me secure the job I have today. So my dear, the job prospects are level. Most people use their previous experience to secure jobs here and not even PGD or masters qualification. |
nelly28:I didn't have any other factor to make them ignore my "course mix match" according to you. People end up in different career paths not related to their first degree and that is what I wanted to point out to the person. My point was just to emphasize that you can get a study permit if your propose course is not related to your first degree but you can prove it with your current job position. Even Oyibo dey switch career, why cant we? Besides, am a babe my dear ![]() |
josafunmi:I have a degree in Chemistry but I worked as a business development manager for 3 years in Nigeria. I applied for a 2 year PGD in Global business management in North Island College in 2014. I got a student visa and I finished my program last December. I have a good full time job today in Vancouver. YES MY DEAR ITS POSSIBLE TO GET YOUR VISA. Just prove that you have been in business since your graduation. Write a good SOP. I wrote that although I studied chemistry, I have been in the business environment since I graduated and I want to get the theoretical knowledge of what am doing and how it will help me in my career goal as a business analyst. I had a 2.2 in chemistry and it was difficult getting an admission for an MBA so I went for a PGD. I will go for an MBA after I get my PR. Believe in your dream and package yourself. I ended up winning best international student award in business school and I also made the deans list. |
