Your school should have a quarantine plan form. You should trave with it and also provide the necessary information on the ArriveCan app.

Yes, I have filled the quarantine plan form with( family home) and intend traveling with it and also fill all information on ArriveCan app.

I am just concerned if there is any thing I need to do other than the address, name of family and consent letter from family to make my quarantine plan acceptable at the point of entry.

Hello,

Asked before. I would like to know the things to provide if one wants to quarantine at a family/friends home upon arrival. What will make the family/ friend place acceptable at the point of entry. Documents to show etc...

No elderly, kids or health worker in the home.

Please information is needed urgently!

Hi guys,

HOPING ANYONE CAN SHARE INFORMATION ON THIS!

Please for those who used family/friends home in Canada for quarantine. How were you able to explain at the point of entry?

What does the family need to give me or prove so it can be approved to quarantine.

P.S: No elderly, health worker or kids living in the home.

Please help!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry to digress a bit , seeking information from anyone who knows how to quarantine with family/ friends works?

What proof is needed to make the family/friend home suitable at the point of entry?
P.S: No kids, elderly or health worker living the house.

Is there a document(s) that needs to be provided.

Asked on the student thread, did not receive a response.

Please urgently need information!

Nothing, they dont even care, just answer this questions in arrivecan, they would have asked you all they want in the arrivecan app including type of house and address. All I was asked was hotel reservation. I think they are slacking on this quarantine thing

Thank you.

I think proof of payment of the accomodation and a letter from the family or friend stating that they have given you permission to stay at the accomodation for the quarantine period. Does the accomodation have a separate room where you can stay? Await input from others also

Hello badmanjo,

Thanks for replying!

Yes a separate room is available to quarantine.

Letter from family/ friend staying permission granted. Noted will work on it.

Proof of payment from me? Or you mean their own proof of payment like tenancy contract?

Still open to other opinions from others please please !!

Hello Nairaland grin grin

I do not know how to begin this post, but na God go help me.

First, I want to say a big Thank You to Vicky. I dunno your moniker but you know yourself. Thank You for helping reach out to the family here on my behalf. I really appreciate you for that!

Next I'll like to appreciate the entire Nairaland family for the show of love. Omohh e no easy. My heart is full of so much gratitude to every single one of you.

No need to make this a long post abeg undecided
Ending of April no funny for me atall
Robbed on April 25
Application denied on April 27.
It was even more painful as I had to view it on my PC screen. The thing just bold for my face. cry

Hehe
Regardless, I give all the glory to God. It was a really long wait, and it was worth every single second of it.
Thank You to everyone here who in one way or the other contributed to my application.

Here's my Timeline.

Got admitted to Uom to study International Business in October, 2020

Application Submitted - Dec 16
Biometrics completed - Dec 22
NSE Request Letter - Dec 24
Upfront Medicals. - March 24
Medicals Updated. - April 12
Letter of Refusal. - April 27

My application was processed via the normal route. I was denied based on Personal Assets blah blah, cos I know I finished them with my SOP godi. grin

I'm back now and willing to help as many as I can on this journey or lemme just say application grin
I'm willing to go through as many SOPs as I can.
I'm ready to answer as many questions as possible.
Let's all get involved in any little way we can.
For Charles Dickens says, "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another"

My advice to everyone who's yet to apply or waiting for a decision?
Please do not be scared. I know it sounds impossible but on the long run you'll discover your fear and worry doesn't change anything.
If your application was denied, don't give up too. Keep refiring until you hit your target.

I wish everyone awaiting PPR good news in the shortest possible time.

Believe me when I say this..

It will end in Praises!

Welcome back!

You always cross my mind. Good to hear from you. Sorry about the delay, and greatly admire your selfless kindness even during this short delay. We will be rejoicing with you soon!

Big thanks to vicky, was glad to help.

Once you secure visa on your passport, pease buy your dollars from any Nigerian bank through form A. It's better that way.[/quote]

The prevalent services of Form A are utilised:
Medical bills
Training Courses
School Fees
Mortgage

I believe the list goes on, but not for the purpose of exchanging currency and travelling with.

For this purpose, it's either a Personal Travel Allowance or Business Travel Allowance and one will need a TWO WAY FLIGHT TICKET as proof to obtain and can only apply two weeks before your travel date.

Please note this is still not a guarantee that you will receive the usd/euro or pounds you need as it depends on availability of the currency.

Seriously na die oO, anoh no say you know.

But what is form A, have you used it before and also the flywire?

It is an application form designed by CBN which allows bank customers to purchase funds at the CBN or interbank rate to make payments for eligible services as predetermined by the Foreign exchange manual.

The prevalent services it’s utilised for tuition fees, Training courses, Medical bill's etc..

Hello everyone!

Please i need sure and proved answers to my questions.

1) I was given an admission into Algonquin College, Ottawa in Canada. But due to the much tuition fee, i deferred till September this year after speaking with my admission officer on my personal AC page. Please after that, what is the next?

2) I was given a month space to pay my tuition fee as read in my letter, is it visa application i will do first or pay the full first semester tution fee?
Is it possible to start visa processing without paying tution fee until later?

3) The fee for my program is quite much. $18,200 CAD. First semester is $9,700CAD, can schools/colleges that have lesser fee be posted here

4) What are the documents needed for my visa application and what span of time will it take?, base on any current experience.

5) Is it advisable or compulsory a student uses the help of an agent for the visa processing and all,, can the student do it by him/herself without any issue?

6) And lastly, how much does someone need to have for the 14 days quarantine in Canada for sustainace?

Thanks for your apt answers.

Hello Emmal,

My little input:

Algonquin College: You said you have 1 month notice to pay your school fees and you will like to know if you should pay for the visa application fee or first semester tuition first- kindly check the terms and conditions on your acceptance letter( possible if you don't pay a certain amount as deposit on a certain due date your admission will be withdrawn, check what's on your letter if it's not clear you can ask the school admission officer you are corresponding with also possible to apply for visa without making tuition payment all depends on the school terms and conditions, ask about their refund policy to enable make decisions that best suits you.

Hoping a candidate of Algonquin on this thread can help you with more information.

For cheaper colleges, you might have to let the thread know your intending course. So others might help, alternatively google can also help.

For question 4 : I don't have the link to help you with the necessary documents, sure others will help on this.

Processing visa time, it's only IRCC that determines that. If you intend to go September I believe it's best to put in your application soon.

YES, you can process your study visa yourself without an agent, by reading through previous thread as earlier mentioned, asking questions if you do not understand. Please feel free to ask questions, it is highly welcomed here. No question is too absurd if it is related to this thread i.e Canadian study visa.

Quarantine: don't overly think about this yet, possible there might be changes or new instructions as time goes on. After submitting your application, keep following the thread and IRCC for updates.

Please wait for other inputs. Shalom.

Hello again!

Please when explaining available fund for POF, is it advisable to get ones conversion using FX rate or black market rate?

You can explain using the currency of the account i.e NGN, USD, EUR etc. They are familiar with understanding financial strength of different nationalities. I do not think they use black market rate to convert.

Hello Everyone

I just received an acceptance letter from Conestoga and Centennial College to pay deposits.

Initial I expected after initial deposit, balance will be required on or before resumption. But Conestoga expects payment by June.

Please I need to decide on what college to accept. Does anyone know when Centennial expects balance. It wasn’t mentioned on the letter.

For Centennial- After the tuition deposit, you are to pay the balance of your tuition on or before " the first semester due date" which I think it is always 3months before your semester of study( not 100% sure).

Surprised you said this information is not on your acceptance letter, I would suggest you send an email to corresponding international team for the right and accurate date as it defers because of intakes.

For question 1: It is an official document issued by a visa office that is placed in a person's passport to show that they have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident.

2) Think so, you will see the place of issue when you receive it back.

Hello Gurus,
Good morning, I am new here although I have taken my time to read through some pages and I can see that this forum is rich.
I need advise from any of the gurus here before I start my application, just want to be sure I am doing the right thing starting form admission application.
I studied Industrial Chemistry in one of our universities here, graduated with 2:2, accordingly to my research here I can see that going for masters may not be feasible, on the other hand I have a 3years experience working as a Customer Support Officer. Please gurus in the house if you are in my shoes what course would you go for? bearing in mind that I have to show career progression in my visa application.
I thought of applying for chemical engineering (bsc) using my sop to explain tot he VO why I would still love to take bsc even though i already have a bsc certificate because I can't find any pgd course related to industrial chemistry. Secondly I also thought of applying for a course related to the work experience but I can't really find any course related to Customer service as well. Somebody should please help me as I am at a crossroad, what is the best decision to take please?

Hi, for a course related to your work experience , check fanshawe college there is a course in customer relations with sales and marketing. Please do check if it is a post graduate certificate and not just a college certificate, if it is, read the overview of the program as it will help you construct your SOP on why you are choosing it, with the skill set you need to advance in your career. You can also look for program overview of other schools either in canada or not JUST to build your sop.

You can await other suggestions.
