Wizkid was one of the first to wish his on and off girlfriend Tania Omotayo Teller a happy birthday. He shared a photo of her very early in the day on his twitter page and had some nice things to say about her long-time lover. “Happy birthday to my best friend and the realest person I know! Love always T!!” he wrote. There were rumours that the duo have quit but they have both managed to keep their relationship cordial. In between, Wizkid has gone on to have a love child with a US-based lady. https://i1.wp.com/expressng.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Tania-Screenshot-14_06_2016-11_34_46-AM.png?resize=620%2C721 http://www.metronaija.com/2016/06/wizkid-calls-tania-omotayo-friend.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |

Today, a surprising drama kicked off on Instagram after Yoruba filmmaker Adewumi Fatai announced that she has welcomed her first child with Yoruba actor Mustapha Ololade. Not long after, a new woman (@Seyi 5227) who says she is 5 months pregnant for the actor, hopped on the post, shooting darts and accusing Ololade of being a gold digger. From what fans garnered from the altercation, Ololade now has three children with three different women, excluding Seyi who is still pregnant. The upset Seyi dished about Ololade’s lifestyle, and when her comments got deleted and she was blocked from making more comments, she created a new Instagram account @lovelollol311. For Ololade, he simply said, “am speechless”, while the new mum Adewumi Fatai replied with more photos of her new boy. “My prince is cute am grateful,” she said, completing the post with a tongue-out emoji. This drama has sparked massive reactions on social media, with many blaming the pregnant woman for dating a man she already knew was ‘flawed.’ See the reactions: What do you think? http://www.metronaija.com/2016/06/actormustapha-ololades-pregnant.html

Following a meeting between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara and the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, NARD, the proposed indefinite strike by the doctors scheduled to commence on Thursday June 9, 2016 has been suspended for one week to allow the House intervene in the issues between them and the Executive. The meeting will be personally convened and presided over by the Speaker, according to a statement issued by his spokesman, Turaki Hassan, in Abuja. The suspension came after an intense appeal meeting between the association’s executive members and Dogara and chairmen of relevant House Committees in his office. Speaking to them, Dogara asked the resident doctors to grant the House one week to meet with the Minister of Health and fashion out ways to meet their demands and address lingering grievances. He noted that democracy is about the whole wellbeing of the citizens, and appealed further to the association to understand that the country is presently going through financial challenges. The Speaker said, “It doesn’t matter what faith you profess, for instance, it is clearly stated in the Holy Bible that a labourer should be paid his wages even before his sweat dries. I believe that as a responsible government we know this. It is not like we don’t know but as to matters, challenges facing you, these are not things that we had discussed before, I only heard through the briefings I was given. “If it is possible for you to open this window for us in the immediate to call on relevant persons who are in charge of this. I can sit down with the chairmen of committees, some members of the relevant committees, with your good selves and members of the ministry so they can bring these issues and we’ll understand why someone will work for four to eight months and not be paid. What is the problem? And then we will attempt to address these issues together and if that doesn’t work, we can’t stop you from venting your anger and expressing your grievances. I appeal to you to give us till next week when I hope we will be able to invite them and we will sit down together and iron out the issues.” “Imagine a situation where all the resident doctors in Nigeria are on strike, what will happen to the people we represent?….Democracy’s first promise is life, thereafter liberty, the third promise is the pursuit of happiness, and all of them rest on each other. If you don’t have life, then you cannot begin to talk of liberty, if you don’t have liberty then you cannot begin to talk about happiness. So ultimately, all the three hang on life. When there is no life, there is nothing, democracy is useless because a dead man doesn’t have liberty. “So for us, democracy itself is life and when you ignore sectors that provide these very essential services that support the health of our people, then we are even scouring democracy itself and its promises and so I agree with you entirely. “It should be the responsibility of government, actually, to ensure that those who are rendering services, those who are working, providing the vents by which the nation moves, should be able to enjoy not just their salaries, but every other benefit surrounding their scheme of service.” He lamented that the wealth of Nigeria has shrunk due to decreased crude oil income and that is affecting the ability for government to deliver on its responsibilities. President, Dr Mohammad Askira, informed the Speaker that members of the association have not been paid their salaries and other entitlements for several months. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/06/photo-resident-doctors-suspends-strike.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44

Timi Dakolo is finally speaking up following claims that he turned down an invitation to perform at the launch of the Ogoni Cleanup last week. “There is always another side of the truth, another side of the story,” the singer tweeted moments ago. The drama started yesterday, after the Minister of Environment announced that the launch was successful but she also called out the singer for refusing to attend. “A big thank you to all who contributed to the success of Ogoni cleanup launch. I only wish Timi Dakolo accepted our invitation to perform,” she said. However, the ‘Wish Me Well’ singer has made it clear that he didn’t need to appear at the launch to prove how patriotic he is. “I love my country. I love Nigeria,” he said today. “I don’t have to prove it.” Will he ever reveal what really transpired between them? We hope so! http://www.metronaija.com/2016/06/imi-dakolo-replies-minister-of.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44

Embattled singer, Runtown, who was slammed with a court injunction by his record label, Ecrimany Entertainment, defied a judge’s ruling barring him from performing without their permission. The singer went ahead with his scheduled performance in Oakland California yesterday night, kicking off his “Ghetto University Tour.” The ‘Gollardo’ singer who is expected back in court on the June 14 in New York alongside his record label also counter-sued claiming several threats to his life and citing that his contract had been breached on many occasions with the label fraudulently converting royalties due him to their pocket. A clip of his performance was shared by a twitter user with the handle @Echecrates and Nigerians have been quick to react to the singer’s violation of his restraining order with some blaming it on the ‘hustle’ while others are certain that a jail sentence awaits the singer for contempt. A 74-year-old man identified as Nwoke Simeon Ogbuehi was on Thursday, May 26, caught molesting a 14-year-old pupil. "The Umukam Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Autonomous Community in Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State is in deep shock and fear arising from a bizarre incident and conduct of Chief Magistrate Mirabel C. ken Ahukanna of the Afugiri Magistrate Court in Umuahia North LGA. The community in recent times has been embroiled in incidences of indecent molestations, sexual assaults and rapes of adolescent males in the community orchestrated by a 74 years old man, Nwoke Simeon Ogbuehi also from the community Luck however ran out on Ogbuehi on Thursday 26 day of May 2016 when the youths of Okaiuga community caught him in the act forcefully having carnal knowledge of 14 years old JS2 pupil Master Chukwuebuka Uchendu. The community promptly handed Ogbuehi and his victim to the police at the divisional police station at Afugiri, who then took over the investigation and thereafter arraigned the suspect before the Chief Magistrate Court, Afugiri. It was at this juncture that the matter took a bizarre turn. When the case came up before Chief Magistrate Mirabel C. ken Ahukanna and after querying the victim in open court who narrated his repeated ordeals at the hands of Ogbuehi, the chief Magistrate promptly discharged the accused on the grounds that the holding cell at Afara prison has no space to take in further inmates and with that released a suspected pedophile back to the community to continue his dastardly acts. The victims and community now lives in fear and apprehension as Ogbuehi even within the court premises threatened to get back at the community for exposing and humiliating him. We call on the relevant authorities in Abia State and the office of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to quickly intervene and arrest this ugly development before it tarnishes the image of God own state further" http://www.metronaija.com/2016/06/photos-74-year-old-man-caught-molesting.html
