EducationRe: ASUU Strike: Congresses To Vote On Referendum Today by Michael33(m): 3:02pm On Dec 21, 2020
Be careful boy. We just concluded ours in ABU Zaria and other branches are doing same today.

Sunmoluvic:
Lol, so you come post am for you blog concluding that ASUU won do referendum today.
I'm also a student like you, and I'm in school. Nothing of such is happening here, atleast if no news outlet picked the news, alot of people who knows about it would have posted on Twitter, not a single post has been made by anyone.
The last news I heard was they wanted to have a mettint with FG, and it was cancelled, now they a planning another meeting. I don't know the kind of meeting they're having in your school, but it's has nothing to do with the ongoing ASUU strike
EducationRe: ASUU Strike: Congresses To Vote On Referendum Today by Michael33(m): 2:58pm On Dec 21, 2020
And our salaries?

bahaushe1:
Update......

Revitalization fund to be paid on or before 31st December.
EducationRe: ASUU Strike: Congresses To Vote On Referendum Today by Michael33(m): 2:55pm On Dec 21, 2020
This is the question you all are suppose to be asking. They government made promises surely, we accepted the promises and even gave dates of implementation. Suddenly, they now put the clause of calling off strike before executing the promises. Meanwhile, we all know it's a trap and decided that the only way they can show commitment to being serious is by either paying our withheld salaries or paying the allowances... Till date, nothing has been paid. But many Nigerians don't know this.

This government can't be trusted, what's difficult
in them executing their promises and see if we'll not call off... Or even make a commitment.

Sad!
bahaushe1:
We are all tired. I hope government has offered something reasonable. I am for suspension.
EducationRe: Many Nigerian Graduates Can’t Read Or Write - Minister Of Education by Michael33(m): 8:32am On Dec 12, 2020
They won't ooo... Since it won't add a kobo to their pockets. They'll rather spend it on expensive cars and useless things.

Now, ASUU has been on strike for more than 9months and they're not feeling guilty or even committed to ending it.

Nigeria is in recession and they're still happy withhelding lecturers salaries... Meanwhile, one of the major way out of recession is to increase your spending on the people (pump in money).

I still wonder who are their economy advisers... Or should I say they don't listen to advise?

Jeromejnr:
Why don't they actually pump money into education and stop spending money on the acquisition of SUV's?

A country with Crab mentality.

EducationRe: ASUU: Strike May Not End Soon As FG Says, No Promise To Pay Lecturers Salaries by Michael33(m): 2:56pm On Dec 09, 2020
It's better to keep quiet when you don't have adequate Knowledge of what you're saying.
Most civil servants all around the world were paid, either strike or no strike, because of vivid 19. The non academic staff and few who enrolled on ippis were also paid up to date despite the fact that they're also at home doing no work. Why do you think other ASUU members shouldn't be paid?.

ASUU reached an agreement with the government and the fg have almost bridged it. All offers tabled were accepted by ASUU, but till now, none has materialized.

Just yesterday, we heard the minister saying ASUU should call off the strike first before waiting for their withheld salaries... Who does that?

currentflow:
I have been saying it and I will say it again
ASUU members are not fighting for Nigerian students

How do u expect to get paid for work that u did not do
Nigeria Is a mess
So u get paid for going on strike now
What a pity
EducationRe: ASUU: Strike May Not End Soon As FG Says, No Promise To Pay Lecturers Salaries by Michael33(m): 2:50pm On Dec 09, 2020
The fg children are abroad studying or in a private university here in Nigeria... So they don't care about you.

CVhurb:
FG should at least pity the students nah
EducationRe: Breaking News: ASUU Suspend Scheduled Meeting Indefinitely by Michael33(m): 2:48pm On Dec 09, 2020
Perhaps you should read this too...

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/12/strike-fg-postpones-meeting-with-ASUU/

At first, they promised to pay latest by 9th Dec. Which is today, then ASUU promised to call off the strike should the money be paid before or on 9th. So, you can imagine the type of people we're dealing with in this country.

He even stated that they've met all demands of ASUU... Yet, he said they didn't agree on payment of withheld salaries before strike is to be called off. This is the kind of people stopping student from going back to school.

Very sad how we treat education and scholars in this country.

Younglect:
The Academic Staff Union Of Universities has suspended the meeting earlier scheduled for today, Thursday 9th December with the federal government delegates.
The union which was expected to call off the 9 months old striker Today after it’s meeting with the federal government representatives.

A lot of concerns has been raised concerning the readiness of assu to go back to classes.

The Union took to it’s official Twitter handle to and posted.

The FG-ASUU Meeting Scheduled To Hold Today Has Been Postponed Indefinitely. The reason for the postponement According to ASUU President was because the time frame given to the union to consult its members is too short.

Alot of reactions from students and other nigerains.

I'm not an ASUU strong man, I'm not even related to any lecturer, that I know of anyway. I'm a frustrated student that is as tired as anyone can get.

I agree ASUU need to rework their strategy, the strike really hasn't work for them. What I was just telling the other guy is, if federal government still don't pay them, they would still go on another strike.

the picture below is a screenshot from my class' WhatsApp group, We've been in 500 level since 2019... we should be preparing for NYSC now, but still an undergrad, so I'm frustrated too, I'm just more angry at the Federal government than at ASUU.
I'll blame you all. The strike could have been called off should you all demand govt implementing ASUU demands and not just Endsar during the protest...

They were willing to do anything at that time, but you all allowed the window pass... If Nans can stage a peaceful match to villa, the strike won't last 2-3 days after that.

But I know you all don't have the liver to demand for what is rightfully yours.

It's sad!!!

Education has brought many countries from nothing to something (China, India, Malaysia and many more), why we have to push our government to do the needful is surprisingly disappointing.
EducationRe: Hurray, ASUU Wants Prompt Pay For Endless Strikes! by Michael33(m): 7:56pm On Nov 17, 2020
Decimus:
Lol, so what physical and mental forces have been exerted on the government so far in this almost a year old strike?
If ASUU claim their is a signed document that the FG have failed to honour, let them drag the FG to court and present the document. But they'd rather be on an indirect paid leave.
I guess you're new in this country... How many court ruling has this current government honoured?
EducationRe: Hurray, ASUU Wants Prompt Pay For Endless Strikes! by Michael33(m): 7:54pm On Nov 17, 2020
Brandonx:
The sad truth! Why can't ASUU look for an alternative way of making demands undecided the striking strategy is stale and obsolete as it has not done much good to the students who are always at the receiving ends.
Can you suggest an alternative?
EducationRe: Hurray, ASUU Wants Prompt Pay For Endless Strikes! by Michael33(m): 7:51pm On Nov 17, 2020
It's glaring already... He was paid to write this. If he'll be fair, he should have gone to interview any ASUU chapter chairman and then go to the fg side to and use his brain accordingly to understand the real truth... But since he's been paid, he lost his sense of reasoning and sold is conscience. It's sad the kinds of journalists we have in this country.

They are one of the reasons we are still backward in this country
Your government is one of the reasons you're still backward today... ASUU does not handle public wealth or infrastructural development.

They should both get their acts together in this case ASAP.

Meanwhile,

Whether ASUU likes it or not, IPPIS has come to stay.
Stealing, Ghost workers and looting is now CORRUPTION in our nation.
To a better Nigeria we go.
Now I know you're delusional or far more ignorant on the matter at hand.

All I ever wish is for most of you fighting against ASUU to conduct a deep research and know who your true enemy is.

But I know most of you won't.

Oh yes, Christ Embassy and Winners church members are the culprits of this type of flouting the covid-19 guidelines.

The reason is because of what thier pastors are preaching to them. They are told is a scam.

They ought to put a close watch on these churches.

But you are opening markets and public places abi is it not the parents of this kids that are plying there and come back home to take care of this kids?
Safety measures should be put in place for schools to reopen and any school who breaks it should be sanctioned and made a scapegoat....
ASUU are always after their pockets which we all know.
The government should pity private school owners and teachers
You're as ignoramus as you typed. What does opening school has to do with ASUU's pockets?

Did you pay your school fees to ASUU.
