He tried to short-change Oron people by taking the main Habour of the Deep Seaport away from Ibaka to Ibeno, while Ibaka host other aspects of the Deep Seaport, together with the name change, this led to the protest by Oron people.

I know about the name change from IBAKA Deep Seaport it was agreed by all that it should be
IBOM Deep Seaport, IBAKA, Mbo LGA, after he hosted Prominent Oron people at the Hiltop Mansion for negotiation.
I think the Governor was advised to allow the Original plan of the Deep Seaport to remain &as conceived by Architect (Obong) Victor Attah, the former Governor, cos Ibaka has natural depth where dredging is not needed &proximity than Ibeno. The investors from China will also look at it before investing, FG will provide counter-part funding, while AKSG provide the rest, &it's not gonna happen in this administration.
The next Governor will take a second look at the Deep Seaport Plans & do the needful.

Oron is part of the Cross River MainLand known as Akwa Ibom State today when the state was created out of Cross River State in 1987.

National Boundary Commission used river where applicable as natural Boundary to divide or create states, if you see the map of the two sister states along the Cross River estuary, you will understand better, why Oron was ceded to Akwa Ibom State.

Oron people should be patient, their turn to produce Governor is coming soon, I think he will also concentrate in bringing development to that axis especially when the Ibom Deep seaport comes on stream.
The Oron Governor must initiate remodeling of Oron Town by linking roads to other parts of Oron Nation.

We have noticed each Governors that comes, must take developments to his consistuency,

Architect Attah gave Uyo a facelift &few other places in the state with lean resources.

Senator Godswill Akpabio came, consolidate on what Attah did, touched Uyo massively, then extend it to Ikot Ekpene by remodeling the old town, other LGAs got attention too, some via Inter-ministerial projects.

Governor Udom came in with the idea of remodeling of Eket Town with good roads network, build Eket Stadium to Standard, touched his LGA, Onna as well, took few industries to his home town still within the his consistuency, award road contracts to other LGAs, as well as Aviation Development.

In all Uyo, the state capital must not be left out in development.
