I won't be surprised if you did not major in any Health related profession but decided to blog about health,cos anything goes in Nigeria.
Before nko i own the website, are you underweight or are those two pics there your family members

how did you know is unreliable, and for your information before anything goes on my blog i do the research, as a medical physiologist i know for a fact that below a certain weight limit is dangerous for ones health.

And oh Most of my points are from my basic sembulingam and guyton not foreign websites. Youd do yourself well to learn and stop criticizing.

Every one knows being overweight is very bad for one’s health — that much, we’re all aware of. But recent studies have found that being too thin comes with its own set of serious risks and disadvantages, So if you are underweight, you might want to explore its health risks and get insights on how to add a few kilograms to achieve a healthy weight and thereby a healthier you!

How do you know if you’re underweight?

You can find out if you are underweight using a simple calculation to determine your body mass index or (BMI). This can be easily done by dividing your weight (in kilograms) by your height (in metres squared) as indicated below:

BMI (kg/m²) = Weight in kilograms ÷ Height in metres²\

As a matter of fact, BMI is used as a screening tool to identify whether you are underweight, overweight or at a healthy weight. Quite simply, a BMI value less than 18.5 means that you are underweight.

There are many serious health risks to being underweight, mainly:

Infertility: Underweight women primarily have problems with their ability to stay fertile. In fact being underweight causes a disturbance in the hormones which leads to ovulatory dysfunction and thus infertility.

Anemia: Because of a low food intake, underweight women could become anemic, thereby reducing the ability of their blood to carry oxygen to body cells. This can eventually lead to a variety of symptoms including fatigue, dizziness, pale complexion, reduced concentration and lethargy.

Osteoporosis: The risk of osteoporosis is higher for underweight women because of less than optimal intake of calcium which results in lower bone density. This problem is more predominant in teenagers, because they are at a stage when they experience the maximum depositition of calcium in their bones. And being underweight might disrupt this mechanism, resulting in lower deposits of minerals in their bones thereby increasing the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual cycles): This is also more prevalent in underweight teens because they might have a disturbance in their hormones, a decrease in their fat deposits, combined with anxiety that might lead to loss of their menstrual cycle.

Lowered Immune System: The immune system is like a guard at the gate, ensuring that foreign and abnormal cells do not pass. This system needs fuel to take on invading infections, and unless an underweight person is eating very carefully, he or she could easily starve this disease defense guard. That means that very thin people are at extra risk forgetting sick during cold and flu season.

Internal Organs Become Prone To Injury: Low bodyfat means that ur internal organs are not safe. Yes, it is one of the functions of fat, protecting internal organs from physical injury. So, get ur fat % measured. There are a lot of methods like magnetic fields (those machines we hold), submersion in water, etc. The results may vary, but water submersion is considered the most accurate of them all.

Prone To Headaches: Since the brain is made up of fats, These fats are provided to it by the liver. If there are no fat cells in your body, your liver cannot supply the fat cells to the brain and you often get headaches because you brain does not get enough fat cells to use.



What you can do for a healthy increase in weight?

The simplest way is to have 3 meals a day along with 2-3 snacks. Make sure to include different food groups in your diet to achieve a healthy and balanced intake.

Additionally, you should stay away from soft drinks and sugary foods. Instead switch to foods that are high in nutrition such as smoothies, dried fruits and nuts.If you are an underweight teen, you could also have a snack at bedtime because growth hormones are highest during early sleep.

And don’t forget to exercise and increase your physical activity. This might help boost your metabolism and stimulate your appetite!

Remember that genetics plays an important role in determining our shapes and figures! However, this doesn't mean that you should give up and stop trying to achieve a healthy weight. In fact it means that you should try a little harder to maintain a healthy body. You can always consult with a dietitian to determine your healthy weight range and work out a meal plan created to suit your specific needs.

Burns arises from exposure to intense heat, steam, hot liquids, chemicals or the sun. The treatment of burns depends on the severity of the burn.

First it’s important to know that all burns fall into 1 of 3 categories: first degree, second degree, and third degree. First degree burns can almost always be handled with simple home remedies and natural treatments, but second and third degree burns are quite serious and do deserve medical attention

First Degree Burns ( minor burns ) – Affecting the outer layer of skin (the epidermis), first degree burns may cause pain and redness, but don’t result in blistering or anything of serious concern. A burn happening within the home or sunburns are most often first-degree and can be handled with one or more of the home remedies you will see below.


Second Degree Burns – Affecting both the epidermis and an underlying skin layer called the dermis, second-degree burns can cause blistering and are much more painful than first-degree burns. These burns shouldn’t be too concerning. Be sure to observe for infection, though.


Third Degree Burns – The most serious of burns, third-degree burns are highly destructive and do deserve medical attention. These burns damage the deepest skin layers and can damage blood vessels, glands, nerves, fat, and even muscle or bone. Oddly enough, these burns may be painless due to nerve-destruction.


Now here are some natural home treatment for minor burns;

Aloe Vera – One of the primary go-to home remedies for sunburn , aloe vera is notorious for its soothing, cooling properties. To use aloe vera for burns, simply squeeze the juice out of an aloe vera plant and apply it to the burn. In addition to having a natural burn treatment right in your home, many other health benefits of aloe vera can be experienced as well. Alternatively, you can buy organic aloe vera gel at your local natural grocery market.


Egg Whites – You may have never tried this home treatment before, but it is actually a popular one. Simply separate the yolk from a couple eggs, and soak the burn in the egg whites. This ever-so-simple natural treatment could work instantly, and could leave you feeling pain-free forever after a few hours of application.


Baking Soda – Baking soda is another simple option that could dissipate the pain away. Just mix some baking soda with water to make a paste, and apply the paste to the burned area. After drying, rinse (literally) and repeat.


Aluminum Foil – Though doesn't look like a natural remedy, using aluminum foil for burns is one of the top home remedies found on Earthclinic. After being burned, run the area under cold water. Afterwards, apply aluminum foil (shiny side) onto the burn. As many report on Earthclinic, pain may intensify upon applying the foil, but after about 30 minutes to an hour, the pain should subside if not entirely, then at least significantly.


Vinegar – A treatment used by countless individuals for years, vinegar has the potential to offer immediate relief. For treatment, just soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply to the burn. You might also do a compress soaked in vinegar and water. Working as an astringent and antiseptic, vinegar helps prevent infection by killing potential pathogens and helps burns to heal faster (potentially because of the pH factor).


Honey – Also harnessing antibiotic properties that can help prevent infection, honey can be a great natural burn treatment simply when applied to the area. You may also try placing honey on a gauze bandage and keeping it on throughout the day. If you go this route, change the bandage 3-4 times.


Tea Bags – Using tea bags as a natural burn treatment could certainly be the solution for you, but there are a few ways to go about this. One way is to place 2-3 tea bags under a spout of cold water, then applying the liquid. Alternatively, you may want to use 3-4 tea bags and make a mixture using 2 cups fresh mint leaves, and 4 cups boiling water, applying the liquid onto the burn with a cotton ball after letting it cool. Lastly, you can also make a stay-in-place poultice using 2-3 wet tea bags if you’re on the go. Try using black tea, as the tannic acid in in the tea can reduce pain significantly.


Lavender Essential Oil – Even used in some hospitals for burns, lavender essential oil is often recommended for both pain relief and to expedite the healing process. For treatment, you can either pour lavender oil onto a gauze or clean cloth and apply it (replacing the gauze every few hours), or you can spray the area with therapeutic grade lavender oil after exposing the burn to some cold water. Lavender has antibiotic, painkilling, and natural healing properties.


Lastly, never use ice. Ice can restrict blood flow to the skin, and further damage tissue. Instead, immediately place the burned area under cool running water, which helps the the injury from spreading, and keep it there for at least 20 minutes if possible.

The general rule is to avoid all over-the-counter medications during the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, because during that time, the baby's heart, lungs, and brain are formed.
But as the fetus grows and develops, there are certain types of medications you should really avoid throughout your pregnancy, as they could harm the fetus at any stage of development.

1. Antihistamines
Most antihistamines should be avoided. If you are suffering from allergies, you should try to avoid your allergy triggers as much as possible.

2. Antifungals
If you have a yeast infection during your pregnancy, consult your OB/GYN for a remedy. Some OTC yeast infection remedies are not cleared for use during pregnancy.

3. Painkillers
If you are suffering from headaches during pregnancy, most painkillers such as ibuprofen are off-limits. Seek alternative therapies, such as reflexology or massage.

4. Acne Medications

1. Mosquito bites can be a menace. Balms can help take away the itchiness by applying it directly to the stung part of the skin .

9. For mild burns: lightly apply the balm to the afflicted parts. It can help alleviate the pain and avoid blisters. The earlier the balm is applied, the better for your skin so always have one in the house .

10. Corns and calluses on the feet may disappear after consistent use of balm. Smear the balm directly on to the corn. The balm is warmed with a warm cloth to improve the balm penetrate into the corn, and to repeat it every day, one to three times a day.

11. Balm is an excellent remedy against headaches. Rub some balm on both side of your temple and reapply if necessary. Be careful not to get the balm in your eyes.

12. When you got a cold and have a stuffed nose, it might help to put some balm right underneath and around the nostrils to let your nose clear up.

13. If you get carsick or seasick easily, touch the lips with some balm to prevent nausea, avoid it entering your mouth .

Generally our body is to be maintained, washed and kept clean, but do you know that there are certain body parts ( organs ) that don't require these everyday maintenance, they each have their own cleaning mechanism, which is more efficient and safe.

They include:

1. Eyes
Our eyes clean and lubricate themselves everytime we blink using the tears what we produce.

There are 3 types of tears. Basal tears contain water, mucin, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, lipocalin, lacritin, immunoglobulins, glucose, urea, sodium, and potassium (proteins, salts and fats to help clean, lubricate and fight infection in the eye). These are the tears when you blink.

The second are reflex tears which happen when you get something in your eye. Sort of extra protection.

The third are psychic tears which happen during heightened emotion so happy, sad angry etc. These have a different chemical make up and contain hormones and even some natural pain killers. Not really sure why.

2. Vagina

Glands in the vagina produce fluid that flows out daily to help get rid of dead cells and other potentially harmful materials (this is discharge).

The folds of the vagina also protect against infection by sticking together to keep as much bad stuff on the outside as possible. The skin of the vaginal folds also have glands that produce fluid, called sebum, for added protection against infection and even waterproofing.

Sebum can build up and that is perfectly healthy — not an indication of poor hygiene. Vaginas are self-sustaining and should not be washed with soap or douched because it can wash away these protective fluids.

4. Because some shots absorb better in fatty tissue (butt/abdomen) than muscle (deltoid). it's not the doctor's choice, it's science.

6. There are a few muscles where you can give injections. However, there are limits on each site.
You can't inject much volume into someone's arm, but the large muscle bulk of the gluteus (ass muscle) group means you can put in large amounts without much of an issue. You can put a decent amount into someone's thigh. But it's often more hassle (you have to get them to pull down trousers even further down) and there are more structures (nerves, vessels) close to the muscle that you need to avoid.

Twins are a kind of multiple births, i.e., when a woman gives birth to more than one baby at the same time. Twins occur when more than one egg is fertilized or when the same egg is fertilized more than once by one or two sperm, leading to formation of more than one fetus.

Conjoined twins are identical twins who are joined together somewhere in the body. Conjoined twins are monozygotic twins, in the sense that they share the same zygote. Sometimes, they also share some vital internal organs. Formation of conjoined twins is believed to be the result of late twinning.

When the twinning occurs more than twelve days after fertilization of the egg, it may lead to formation of conjoined twins because the embryo may not split completely. This may be due to genetic or environmental factors.

Conjoined twins are also known as Siamese twins, named after the famous conjoined twins, Eng and Chang Bunker from Siam. Conjoined twin births are very rare, amounting to around one birth in every 1,00,000 births. Mary and Eliza Chulkhurst, famously referred to as the biddenden maids, are one of the earliest known set of conjoined twins.

The ratio of male and female sets of conjoined twins was found to be three to one, and they are found more in certain countries like India or Africa.

Conjoined twins rarely survive because of the complexity of the bodies. Most of them are stillborn or die within twenty-four hours after birth. Conjoined twins can be separated surgically if none of the vital organs are involved.

There are different kinds of conjoined twins, depending on the part of the body where they are joined. These are cephalopagus, craniopagus, craniothoracopagus, dicephalus, iscopagus, omphalopagus, parapagus, pygopagus and thoracopagus. There are also some rare kinds of conjoined twins, such as parasitic twins (where one twin is not completely formed and depends on the other twin to sustain life), and fetus in fetu (where one twin’s fetus is present inside the body of the other twin).

Some people consider separation of conjoined twins as unethical if it involves death or disability of one of the twins. Conjoined twins, if they survive, can lead healthy lives. There are instances where conjoined twins have even married and become parents. The famous Siamese twins, Chang and Eng Bunker, fathered twenty-one children in thirty-one years.

Its actually so bad that you depend on a cream you put on your face that pulls out the hairs.

So the main question is do you just suck at life or you just cant shave due to overly sensitive skin? Here are 5 reasons why?

1. Its Genetic

2. Hair Type

To avoid these shaving problems & skin irritations, again, shave "with the grain" (that is, in the direction your hair grows). Each person's facial hair has its own growth pattern. If you are unsure of the direction of your beard, let it grow for a day or two and you'll see it.

5. Razor Type
Change your razor type, if you were using manual change to electric and vice versa, some skin sets works better with certain types of blades.

After all these you still get razor bumps or irritation, keep a stubble.
