It is downright disappointing that most of you are shortsighted and cannot see beyond Nigeria's present. In case y'all don't know, developers in advanced countries have moved on from PHP and WordPress to Python and Django, Ruby on Rails, The MeanStack. And for those that are currently laughing at the JavaScript thingy, I suggest you start by taking a course in NodeJS, cos whether you like it or not, it is now and the future.

It is appalling to think that many of you don't even know that there's a server-side platform written with JavaScript... SMH (Notice that that is in caps... for emphasis sake). I suggest that before you make stupid comments in the near future, you would do well by doing a little research.

1. Dear Linus Trovalds, NodeJs wasnt written in JavaScript. it was written in C.
2. PHP still powers a great majority of the web.
3. Nodes is not the first server side JavaScript stack.
4. People are moving from JavaScript to Golang and Scala

Waga10, while that may solve your problem, technically it is wrong to do so.

Mysql has been deprecated as of PHP 5.5 does not mean you cant use it on a server. Deprecated doesnt mean it has been removed.

The solution you got will suppress the error but what if you have a problem connecting ro your db, that means you wont be able to get the errors.

A more better approach is to suppress E_DEPRECATED errors using the php error reporting. With that, you will get every other errors expect for E_DEPRECATED errors.

Put this at the very top of your mysql_connect page.

<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL ^E_DEPRECATED);
?>

As a side note, it is advisable you migrate to mysqli or PDO. There is a tool you can use to migrate from mysql to mysqli online. You can check mysql official website.

Let me know if you get it

Bros you are just suppressing errors with '@'. it doesn't remove the problem, it only hides the errors. when the host upgrades to a version of PHP that has removed the mysql library, this script will fail without showing errors. This solution is extremely bad. Use PDO or Mysqli

I don't know about Jumia and kaymu, but I'm 100% sure that YII is a PHP FRAMEWORK and not a CMS. A FRAMEWORK IS NOT A CMS, dude.

PHP's mysql driver is no longer supported as from PHP 5.5. mayber your new host is running that or above. You should rewrite your queries using mysqli or PDO

There is a reason why the army first breaks an individual to barebones before rebuilding to spec.

Learning with a plain text editor like Notepad++ will give the learner the opportunity to write every line of code himself without the enticement of function usage hinting and code completion.

There is a reason good driving schools still using manual transmissions to teach. We know a driver who learnt with an auto transmission can't just jump into a manual transmission and move. However the manual transmission learner can jump into an auto transmission and move.

Well the bottom line is learn with the basic tools and as one develops his skills, use whatever IDE works best for you. Nothing personal but inside me I don't think I will take any developer seriously if his "home" IDE is Dreamweaver (Yes I know there is the "code view" but I don't see what a web developer should be doing with an IDE that has "design view" and other useless features... not to mention the terrible code DW generates).

Professionally I worked with Notepad++ for about 4-5 years before switching to PHPStorm. I don't see myself leaving PHPStorm anytime soon. For quick fixes my default application is still Notepad++.

well, I thought the codes were generated.

Second, someone who's using Dreamweaver to learn has to have great self control to prevent him from generating codes via Dreamweaver. With notepad, there's no temptation of that sort.

1. Your mysql_connect parameters should be strings unless they are CONSTANTS which i higly doubt.

So change mysql_connect(localhost, root, DBPASS) to mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "DBPASS" wink

2. your mysql_select_db first param should be a string unless you are using a CONSTANT. so shange mysql_select_db(powercrib, $connection) to mysql_select_db("powercrib", $connection);

3. From PHP 5.5 mysql has been deprecated. It is in your best interest to use mysqli or PDO.

An advice.....Learn coding using notepad or notepad++. Dreamweaver may not make you a good coder.

The method I recommend is to edit your .htaccess file on the old domain and add the following

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^olddomain.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.olddomain.com$
RewriteRule (.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

its important that you use ur this method because your webserver will output the 301 http code telling your visitors (especial!y web crawlers) that your site has moved permanently to the new domain. this makes sure that search engines crawl the correct location with ur updated URL.

Maybe u can achieve this using domain redirect on cpanel.

I believe in the scientific explantion on the evolution of man because it provides acuurate details and explanation on how Man came into being.

The Christian point of view is base on beliefs, no true facts recorded and besides fossils of the early Man are still being dug out by archaeologist.

Ask youself this one question, what is the proof that Adam was indeed the 1st man on earth?.

The theory of Evolution is based on the idea of natural selection where organisms acquire or develop traits that makes them more suitable for their environments thus evolving into better or even newer species.

EVOLUTIONARY THEORY IS WRONG.

1. Why have africans not evolved into species with shiny or reflective skins to reflect heat??.
2. Why are eskimos furless, when they should have evolved into species with hair to keep them warm in their environment?.

3. For how long did fish make the transition from fins to limbs, and gills to lungs in evolving into without decimating their population?.

4. How did plants and bees survive during their different evolutionary phases when they didnt have each other for their symbiotic relationship?

5. what exactly is the proof that the theory of evolution is true?

The truth is that its all based on assumptions. Thats science for you.
