If i can ask a question, what really is gambling? Think we are getting it all wrong or maybe i am.. When you put some money in a mutual fund or bank .... It's called investing When you put some money on stocks ... some will call it speculation. When you save your money to get a form in order to buy a chance into participating in something that has prizes or / and awards. .... wetin dem dey call that one? When you kon use your brain do some calculations and analysis and finding out that you have an edge in an uncertain outcome and deciding to put your money there...... Them go kon dey say you dey gamble.... Mtchewwww.. If that is truly wat you guys think is gambling... i mean putting your money where you think you can make some cool cash........ then you are all on a long thing.. Oya what is investment? what is gambling? # TGIS. .. |

bukie26:Can i call you bukky? K.. Bukky. Lets say you wanna choose comp sci. Knowing the statistics can help you choose a school where the probability of gaining admission is high. For example, First time i checked for comp science for Unilorin.. i got 668 candidates, for medicine in Unilorin i got 1000 something sha. Now presently candidates for Unilorin comp sci is over 1000 and over 5000 for Medicine. If you check similar schools, you will surely see a trend like this. There's a geometric increment in competitive courses like this and kinda arithmetic increment in less competitive course. Now what am trying to pass through is, there is a proportionality between the rate of students applying in their a school to other rate of students applying in other schools. A little bit of an example for clarification. Suffice to say that if at this current moment Unilorin has 5000 candidates applying for lets say Accounting while the figures for four other schools for the same school is 2300, 1200, 3700, 2900. An increase in the candidates applying for accounting in unilorin will also show an increase in other schools. Meaning in the nearest future, Lets say two weeks from now, if the figure for Unilorin is 7000, the figures for other school would have increased. Now the tricky part is this.. Even though there's an increase in other schools, the probability of the school having an initial figure of 1200 to emerge as the school having the most candidates is very low. I doubt if the school with an initial figure of 2900 will have more candidates applying for accounting than the school with the initial figure of 3700. Hope u following sha.. This means you could use the statistics to look for a school that offers you more edge of gaining an admission. As of now, the candidates applying for comp sci at UI are less than 500 while for Unilorin is over 1000. Now tell me which school offers more edge provided every other thing remain constant. Things such as Catchment area, ELDS, Aggregate scoring, etc. P.S: Am sorry if my explanation Seems like rambling.. my brain ain't cool enough to supply an easier explanation |

bukie26:Lol. Am the NL'der who thought it was wise to bring in statistics as a tool. I get what you are saying, but the fact is you still don't get it. The fact that most non naira landers would have stick to their course doesn't mean we have to(or we don't have to). Just as someone mentioned, that extra push goes a long way, it makes you set your priorities right. I thought i explained the reasons for the statistics. If you look at the way Nigeria institution admit candidates you will know then know how powerful it is I could give you a 1001 reasons why you should use it but the catch there is until you decide to really see what the tool is for, am sorry you will fail to see the bright side of it and nothing i say will change your mind. #PEACE |
Pukka36:You are blessed gal. U just make my morning look so beautiful |

bukie26:A little enlightenment if u don't mind. Lets say you have three courses in your mind you want to study, knowing the statistics of those courses can help you in your decision. Since you know your level of intellect and reasoning, it's fair to say you can roughly calculate your performance and make a decision. e.g Chidi wants to study either Medicine, Pharmacy or Biochemistry. Lets say he's an average chap, knowing the statistics might make him select a less competitive course giving him an edge. So instead of applying for MBBS which he knows only 100 candidates will be chosen, he might go for biochemistry giving him a higher probability of gaining admission. He could still apply for MBBS but i doubt he will be chosen cos they r guys more brilliant than him vying for the admission. And what makes you think those brilliant peeps ain't prayerful too. So it all boils down to intellect (minus the runz things ). So it's not about God deciding your fate. It's about trying to gain an edge. Or will u tell me that out of 7000 ish candidates left out of gaining admission, some didn't pray abi. Another thing is that even if u decide to go for that competitive course, you now know the challenge and the element of surprise is gone. Meaning it serves as a gentle reminder that you need study hard cos plenty are those vying for that admission you seeking and only few will be chosen. In war, having a stick and knowing your enemy has a machine gun doesn't change your stick into a gun but it removes the element of surprise and that little knowledge can be factored into a strategy where you can gain the upper hand. I had rather know my enemy has a gun than getting into his range of shot then knowing how fvcked up i am. That my friend is the survival of fittest. |
Since it's in the public. All i do is think of blood especially thinking how she will look naked when menstruating and blood seeping from u know naau. . Very gruesome and since i can't stand the sight of a single drop without not wanting to vomit, my mind resets itself. Just look for a thought that z mind sickening. It works every time. micynute94:Yep.. scratch that.. i mean solution two. Removing B.D data still causes a lot of data consumption. So, no am still restricting B.D. I simply said scratch that to change the theory that it was the B.D restriction that causes Dolphin to reload its pages when i open it from its minimized state. Yep, you got that right. B.D has no relationship whatsoever with Dolphin browser reloading its pages. I did some test with stock browser, Firefox, downloaded another Opera browser ( not mini ) and still find the same issue of the browser reloading it's pages after minimized for about 3 mins except in the case of opera mini which doesn't reload it's pages when opened (90%of the time) but for some reasons wouldn't stream live price feed from the broker or place a trade. So after a lot of research, i found out that the reloading stuff has a lot more to do with the android OS and how it manages RAM and also about activity level ( Google more if you need more info ) The OMM priority for the browsers were low, so the android kill the app process after saving its recent state to free up memory. So opening the browser after minimizing, the android OS boot the app from its last saved state as a result reloading the pages. It's kinda technical than this but just trying to explain it in a simple way. People with high ram size in their phone ain't affected much by this. So the stuff about page reloading has more to do with memory issues. The best solution is to have a fast connection so the pages can be rendered quick. Hope i got across sha.. It is well |

butter:Applying this to binary is simple. Using the strategy posted above, you know a currency will drop in the next 15mins, what you don't know is how far the currency will fall. So using a put option in a fixed odd binary trade, you can select the price of the currency will be strictly lower than your entry point taking a Rise / Fall bet. If the price at the end of the time you specified (expiry time ) is lower than your entry price, you win the bet, if otherwise you lose. e.g a signal occurs telling you a reversal is about to happen. Lets say the price is at 1.2345 using Eur / Usd as an example. What you do next is take a rise/fall bet and purchase a fall bet that the price will be strictly lower than your entry price( the price at which the server receives your bet). After the expiry time and price is at 1.2344.or below, you won the bet. If price is at 1.2345 or higher, you lose the bet. There are more bet types available than just the Rise/ Fall bet type, so it's all about your preference and what strategy you are using. In fixed odds binary trading unlike in fx, you know the amount you are risking and the profit you are gonna get with a certainty. Adjusting your stop loss, take profit or trailing your stop doesn't apply here. So the outcomes in fixed odd binary are simply two - You either lose or you win unlike fx where the option of break even or minimizing your loss is possible. So it's more like you have a strategy, it gives you a signal, you trade the signal and you simply forget about it. I mean, no trade management is involved here except money management . Summary of this is Fixed odd binary has only two outcomes with zero trade management required while forex has three possible outcomes with trade management skills required. Both have their merits and demerits. P.S: Hope you understand that, if not feel free to ask me. Not long i woke up and am yet to brush my teeth.. so am not comfortable typing this... Lol.. act as if you didn't hear that. No one's asking me that, right... |
Pukka36:Laughing over here |
Thespecialone:You really got the part about fishing right.. For all i know ppl would scream at the top of their lungs that they had rather be thought how to fish than being given a fish but deep down.. All they want is you catching the fish, killing the fish, cooking the fish and spoon feeding them the fish. And should the fish finishes and you are yet to catch another one.. That is when you will see how they will rubbish you. They will just move on to another philanthropist with a fish after damaging your image. @ Ymodulus, i feel your pain.. I know exactly how it feels cos trust me i have been there. Just do what you know in your heart is right. |
Sophyrocks:A nice solution ma'am |
MzNelly:I love your honesty, if ladies can be more open and be sincere.. life would have been easy for men. I think this playing hard to get thing causes more damage than good looking at it from the guy perspective. Though some guys might disagree with me. I see no reason why a lady simply can't say Yes or No without society terming that cheap.. Like seriously, my current gf told me Yes the first time i asked r and i can say statistically ** roll eyes** that i haven't love someone so fierce d way i love her. I thinking this playing hard to get thing is highly over rated and considering this generation, it does more harm than good to the guy.. Funny enough, it's we guys that call the quick to say YES cheap. Guess we are being paid back in our coins... Relationship is truly a murky business..... ** smiles ** |
ihedinobi2:… it is not right for her to play on his vulnerability to her to keep him around, maybe because she thinks she'll want him in the future. That is cruel. And that is what I will always resist. People can say that nobody is forcing a man who wants to leave to stay because they totally miss the part where he DOES NOT WANT TO LEAVE. He loves her, for heaven's sake. Why would he be in a hurry to leave? The reason he chooses to is that it is not easy to want a woman that much and watch her give herself to anybody else. Can't tell you how happy i am by your words. A guy who was told No by a female wouldn't want to walk away so fast considering the facts that he might think you are playing hard to get or if given time he could make you see him in a new light. The problem with this friendzone thing is more about the girl knowing fully well she has no need for the guy as her bf, and still tries to use his feelings to make him vulnerable thereby manipulating him to serve her needs whereas the guy keep doing this because he thought he could win her heart with this good gestures. And d fact still remain that a No is not always a No when it comes to the ladies. Will u ladies tell me that ur past or current bf was given the "YES " answer first day he told you about his feelings for you . So how do you expect him to know your No is a No and not playing hard to get or simply testing him? cc. ujsizzle, sophyrocks, MzNelly Those who claim that they can handle it know how they do. I don't. Before Nairaland I always dated from among existing friends and I never kept close female friends. You became close when we started dating. Until then, we'd flirt once in several weeks and do small talk and I'd play Ghandi sometimes but that was it. Hanging out together so often and all that was stuff I did because I'd gotten serious with you.God bless you broda. It was only after I discovered the friendzone on Nairaland that I suffered its bite, lol. And I understood the anger of most fellas and some women too who have experienced it. |
JMAN05:I think i like you. I love ur way of reasoning bro.. would v loved arguing more with better point but using a phone to type is stressful and u have a lovely way of answering a question.. The points i laid out was meant to test you and ur perception, not as a Christian but your acceptance and view of it. I was expecting you would have done a lot of scrutinizing my reply then looking for a weak pt which i obviously put there to test your extremity level.. well, 4 now.. gotta say Thank u and Bye. One of these days when am around a system and u have some free time. We d do some enlightenment. what say you? |
