PoliticsEmir Sanusi In Tears, Says Leaders will pay for their deeds (PHOTO) by midolian(op): 12:18pm On Jul 19, 2015
The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sunusi, on Sunday cried during his speech at an event in the state.
The emir, who paused for about two minutes while crying, was advising Nigerian leaders to be prepared to account for all their actions before God.

Speaking at the Africa House of the Kano Government House, Mr. Sanusi, an outspoken former governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, told a packed audience which included the Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje, that power was a responsibility bestowed on leaders at all levels and for which they would account.

He commended Mr. Ganduje for his love and concern for the wellbeing of the Kano Emirate Council, saying that the gesture will help build a strong relationship between the council and the state government.

The event, called Hawan Nassarawa, is held to signify the end of eid-el-fitri festivities and is done to allow political leaders unveil their programmes and policy statements to the traditional leaders.
Earlier, Mr. Ganduje said his primary task was to complete projects initiated by his predecessor and former boss, Rabiu Kwankwaso, before he would commence new ones in the state.

so what will you make of a case where two people threaten to kill themselves and then smarter one eventually eliminates the other, will it still hold that he killed else he will be killed?
in the original post, you called it aa battle which I interpreted to mean a war fought for the interest of a party. In that case, its not murder.

In this case, if u have proof that the person was trying to kill u and in defence, you killed the person, in law, I think they call it self defence. But if u don't have proof, its MURDER and you should be killed too.

Yhunoos:
It was what I was tryna say on the other thread by midolian.. The DSS shouldn't be behaving like the DSS during jonathan regime which was for pure political witch hunting..

I believe dasuki might be guilty of misappropriation of security funds and should be investigated thoroughly, but not the way the DSS are going about with it.. I would have prefer they remain silent and wait till they have indisputable evidence against him before releasing a press statement, that way people won't see it as a vendetta.
bro, that "seige" of a thing could just be a false alarm. If the DSS could order for a seige, they could have ordered for his arrest too. But NO! He wasn't arrested. His houses were just searched. They had their search warrant and they did their job peacefully. If it wasn't for Dasuki that proved stubborn @ first(even after he was shown the search warrant), the search wouldn't hav taken that long. I still believe the DSS did the right thing.

I cannot still remember where any APC supporter, offline and online have claimed that PMB's policy or any overt actions led to the refineries working.

For example, I did a thread where I clearly stated that the fear of PMB led to refineries resuming working in July given the fact that they were earlier scheduled to start in 2016.

That PMB even stated he has not directly influenced the resumption of refineries should make TANoids to appreciate the man more as an outstanding character.

But I'm not surprised because TANoids have fish brain.
Thank you bro. But no matter how hard you explain, they still will twist ya words @ the end of the day. As I will always say, filling a basket with water is easier than making the TANoids understand simple things.

And @ the emboldened. You are so on point. But instead, the TANoids will still it as an opportunity to call him names. Very ungrateful set of pple.

About my last statement, what I'm saying is that the DSS should have done a deeper investigation... Atleast they shouldn't have realeased a press statement just yet till they have ENOUGH incriminating evidence against him, else this would be seen as a political witch hunt by the PDP.

For instance, what could he be doing with five (5) bullet proof cars as a retired NSA?. These cars which from all available evidence were purchased with tax payers money, were being kept for possible sinister enterprise,” the statement said. Claiming that it was aware that the lethal arms and the vehicles recovered from Dasuki’s homes were not reflected in his handover note, it wondered, “what could a former NSA be doing with destructive weapons and bullet proof cars which put together could disrupt the peace of any city in  Nigeria for a while”

PoliticsDSS Moved Against Dasuki To 'prevent Treasonable Felony' (A Must See) by midolian(op):
The Department of State Security Service (DSS) last night said the search it conducted on the residences of former National Security Adviser, Col. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki, was based on “credible intelligence” linking him with “alleged  plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State.”

In a statement issued last night and signed by one of its officials, Tony Opuiyo, DSS also said that some incriminating items were recovered from the houses of the former NSA.

Also, there were concerns last night in Abuja about the whereabouts of Mr. Gordon Obuah, Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, as THISDAY gathered that he had been taken into custody by DSS.
The DSS explanation for storming the residences of Dasuki in Abuja and Sokoto last Thursday came following criticisms that trailed the manner in which the raids on the residences of the former NSA were carried out.

In its statement titled: “Preventing attempts to commit treasonable felony:  the search on the residence (s) of  Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col rtd), immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA),”  DSS said,  “On 16th July, 2015, about 1650 hours, based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col Rtd) with alleged  plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.

The search operations was planned to be simultaneously conducted, but Dasuki, refused the operatives entry into his main residence located at No. 13 John Khadya Street, Asokoro, despite being presented with a genuine and duly signed search warrant. Consequently, what was to last not more than two (2) hours, lasted more than ten (10) hours, up till the early hours of 17th July, 2015.

“Indeed if not for the sense of maturity and professionalism of the officers and men assigned this task and the very good understanding and timely intervention of the new Chief of Army Staff, Tsukur Y. Buratai (Maj Gen), there would have been a clash between the Army operatives guarding the house and Service operatives, as Sambo directed the soldiers on duty not to allow any movement into his house, despite the subsisting court order. Sambo thereafter raised a false alarm to the military authorities to come to his aid as he failed to correctly tell the military that his property was about to be legitimately searched.”
The statement said that the search was thoroughly conducted and several items recovered, among which were some incriminating items, which include seven (7) high caliber rifles, (high assault weapons), several magazines and military related gears.

“The team also recovered twelve (12) new vehicles, out of which five (5) were bullet proofs. These vehicles which are all exotic vehicles were retrieved from Sambo’s residence having failed to produce evidence of ownership.

Justifying the search conducted on his three properties, including the Sokoto residence, DSS said it was aware that “in his capacity and given his antecedents, he might decide to use any of his residences for such diabolical plans, rather than his main residence.”

Noting that Dasuki retired from the Army as a Colonel, and  was therefore not entitled to have military guards,  but for the fact he was NSA, the DSS said “even as NSA, such guards should have been withdrawn after his removal as NSA since he would not have been entitled.”
Debunking insinuations that the raid on Dasuki’s residence was a witch hunt, it said the service decided “to move at this time in line with current management resolve to be proactive and pre-empt individuals with penchant for impunity and lawlessness from putting back the nation to the dark days.”

While reassuring Nigerians that it would not trample on the freedom of individuals or groups as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and emphasized by the current administration’s position on transparency and probity underlined by justice and equity for all Nigerians, which it described as the driving force for all DSS operations, it  however, said “the Service would not hesitate to go after any person or group of persons, no matter how highly placed once such individual (s) breach or attempt to breach the laws of the federation.”
It warned that, “the days for impunity and indecisiveness in the face of unpatriotic acts by individuals operating against the State are over.”

“The Service hereby appeal to all Nigerians to be law abiding and partner with it in ensuring a peaceful and secured nation. In the same vein, those that are bent on breaking the rules governing our peaceful co-existence due to either the huge ill gotten wealth they have acquired or imaginary hold they think they have on our nation’s survival, are being warned to rethink. The DSS will use all constitutional means as defined by its mandate to deal decisively with such unpatriotic individuals” it added.
Meanwhile, THISDAY learnt that Obuah, former President Jonathan’s CSO, was last seen in public last Thursday, and may have been in DSS detention facility in Abuja since then.

As at press time last night, no statement had been issued by the State Security Service on his arrest.
A source however said Obuah had not visited his former boss (Jonathan) since Friday morning, and that his whereabouts were unknown as at last night.
However, a group, Society for Global Justice said yesterday that Obuah was arrested by the DSS and held without charge.
In a statement by its Executive Director. Mr Marcus Ogabe, the group said prior to Obuah's arrest last Thursday, he had been reporting to the DSS office for a week.

It described the detention "without charge" as tell-tale signs of the "tyranical, autocratic and dictatorship tendency of the Muhammadu Buhari administration."
The statement reads: Society for Global Justice calls on Nigerians to take note of the tyranical, autocratic and dictatorship tendency of the Muhammadu  Buhari Administration as exemplified by the continued incarceration of Mr Gordon Obuah the Chief Security Officer to former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.

"Obuah has been  detained since last Thursday at the headquarters of the State Security Services in Abuja without charge.
"He was also not told the reason for which he is being detained.
"Obuah was asked to be reporting to SSS headquarters in Abuja and reported for a week before he was finally arrested and detained.
"He is being denied access to his family, lawyer and medication.
"Obuah has high blood pressure and detaining him without access to his medication may prove disastrous.
"We hereby demand the unconditional release of Mr Obuah."

The group said it wished to place  on record the gestapo style adopted by operatives of the State Security Service who invaded the residences of the erstwhile National Security Adviser in Abuja and Sokoto.

"We demand the immediate release of Mr Obuah or he should be charged to court if he has done any wrong." the group added.
