In Ward 8 unit 1, the ruling party polled a total of 111, PDP got 03 votes. Others are ACD 01; void 03.
In Ward 8 unit 4

But the PDP won in
WARD 9 UNIT 3, polling 64 votes to APC’s 41
DPC got 01, and one vote voided.
The election in the three units, all located in the belly of Orolu forest, was generally peaceful.
As early as 7:30am, voters had trooped out to participate in the exercise.
The presence of heavily armed security personnel, drawn from the military; DSS; police, Civil defence, FRSC among others, helped ensure sanity.
Voters and party agents praised the presence of the security personnel. They denied being intimidated by security personnel or political thugs in the ongoing rerun election in Orolu LGA.
Raheem Alan, a PDP agent in Ward 9 Unit 3, told The Nation that although voters were initially delayed at the entry point to the voting arena, it was for security reasons. “Once the security personnel were convinced nobody came to the voting arena with any form of dangerous weapons they allowed us into the arena freely,” he said.
Olaniyi Tairu, APA agent said there is not a single threat by security personnel. “In fact, we need them more here; they are protecting us.” In similar vein, Nimota Kolawole ACD agent in the unit, said tales of intimidation or prevention of people from voting are all lies. “Nobody has been denied voting right here; I have been here since 7:30am. Please don’t believe such stories.” she explained.
Kolawole said initially the community was apprehensive on sighting the heavy presence of security personnel. He however said realising their presence was for their security, they calmed down and trooped out to vote.
“What happened on Saturday cannot be allowed to happen today. We thank the security officers here,” she submitted. https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/e1da0df8-c7c5-4073-a897-3c283662620a-891x470.jpghttp://thenationonlineng.net/apc-wins-orolu-rerun-election/ |

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has been declared winner of Polling Unit 012 in Olode Ward of Ife South Local Government Area in the Osun State governorship supplementary poll held on Thursday. In the inconclusive election held Saturday, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) scored 254,698 votes to beat his APC rival, Gboyega Oyetola, who polled 254,345 votes. The electoral commission, however, declared the election inconclusive because the margin of 353 votes between the two leading parties, PDP and APC, was less than the number of cancelled votes (3,498) in seven polling units where results was cancelled across four local governments. Ife South LG houses one of the seven polling units, where the re-run election held. The six other polling units are situated in Orolu, Osogbo and Ife-north LGAs. According to the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the presiding officer in Polling Unit 012 in Olode Ward of Ife South, the APC scooped 283 votes while the PDP, which came second, had 15 votes. Thus, APC led the PDP with a margin of 268 votes. Below is the Breakdown of the votes: Number of registered voters: 812 Number of accredited voters: 310 Number of rejected votes: 6 APC: 283 APA: 3 APGA: 1 PDP: 15 SDP: 1 UPN: 1 Meanwhile, PREMIUM TIMES reported that PDP party agents were absent in the Ife South polling unit. The PDP publicity secretary, Bamidele Salaam, when asked why the agent of the party was absent said the party agent, alongside some members, were chased away from the polling unit by hoodlums early Thursday. “The report that got to us was that some of our party members including the agents were chased away from the polling unit by some thugs on Thursday morning,” he told PREMIUM TIMES. The PDP candidate has described the election as a charade and rejected its outcome. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/286818-breaking-osundecides2018-apc-records-landslide-win-in-ife-south.htmlhttps://i2.wp.com/media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2018/09/PIC-37-OSUN-2018-GOVERNORSHIP-RERUN-ELECTION-1.jpg?resize=768%2C510&ssl=1 |

Bello Ahmed, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police in charge of the Osun governorship re-run election in Olode in Ife South Local Government, has said that security agents were monitoring the issue of vote-buying.
Ahmed, while speaking with newsmen at Adereti polling Unit 12, ward 7 in Olode on Thursday, said that anyone caught buying votes would be arrested.
He, however, said that the election had been peaceful, adding that voters were behaving maturely.
”We are law-abiding and we obey the rule of law but anyone who perpetrates crime will be arrested.
“But so far, so good; the election is going on smoothly,” Ahmed said.
Also speaking, Mr Stephen Ojewande, Deputy Director of Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, said nobody was allowed to come to the polling unit with smartphones.
Ojewande said people with smartphones were restricted 300 metres away from the polling units.
“We ensure that nobody comes to the polling unit with smartphones.
“We also ensure that people with smartphones are chased 300 metres away from the polling unit,” he said.
Ojewande also said that voting would end by 2 p.m., adding that the last person on the queue would be attended to. https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/INEC-2016-ELECTIONS.pnghttp://dailypost.ng/2018/09/27/osun-rerun-police-inec-speak-vote-buying/ |

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that there will be consequences if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) succumbs to pressures from planted PDP presidential aspirants to move the party’s National Convention away from Port Harcourt.
He further declared that the state will not support any desperate PDP presidential aspirant who is sabotaging the economy of the state by fighting the hosting of the party’s presidential primary in Port Harcourt.
Mr Wike warned that Rivers People will teach the party a bitter lesson if it allows planted desperate presidential aspirants to scuttle the hosting of the presidential primary in Port Harcourt as agreed by all leaders of the party.
Speaking during a consultative visit by the Gombe State Governor and PDP presidential aspirant, Ibrahim Dankwambo, at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Mr Wike said at the PDP’s national meeting, no presidential aspirant opposed Port Harcourt as a venue.
He said any presidential aspirant fighting Rivers State should forget about the support of the state, during and after the National Convention.
He said: “Let me warn the party, if you dare, Rivers State will teach the party a lesson. Those days have passed when they took Rivers State for granted. Nobody can use and dump Rivers State.
“No presidential aspirant can use and dump Rivers State. We never lobbied for it, we never asked for it, but it will boost the economy of the state. People will make money.
“Those who are against Rivers people from making money to improve their businesses, will not get our support.”
The governor said that whether the National Convention holds in Jigawa or Adamawa, the winner preferred by the delegates will emerge.
“I don’t know why anyone who wants to be president, will be afraid of a venue. Then you are not prepared for the election.
“Nobody should dare Rivers State any longer. Enough is enough. PDP should know that we are not a punching bag. We are not a people you can use and push. We are not harlots. Whenever you want, you come. When you finish, you push us aside.
“We will retaliate at the appropriate time. When you go, tell your colleagues, the presidential aspirants. We were not interested, but having given it to us, you cannot insult us,” Governor Wike said.
The governor pointed out that there are persons who are not presidential materials, but have bought forms simply because the presidency is zoned to the North.
He wondered why a presidential aspirant would declare that he is uncomfortable with Port Harcourt as a venue, but would love Rivers oil.
He said: “You come here to deceive us about restructuring. Just that Rivers State is a venue, you fight it. Then, when you are there, what will happen? You think we are fools where you preach restructuring, then when you get the position, you abandon restructuring.”
Governor Wike said that at the appropriate time, he will reveal the names of presidential aspirants working with the APC-led federal government to scuttle the presidential primary.
He added that no presidential aspirant will use a few members of the Board of Trustees of PDP to scuttle the decision of the party to host the presidential primary in Port Harcourt.
The governor described Governor Dankwambo as eminently qualified to contest the position of President. He said Mr Dankwambo will be considered when Rivers delegates meet to decide on who to support.
Earlier, Mr Dankwambo called on Rivers PDP delegates to support his aspiration as he has the capacity to set the country on the path of growth.
He said that the crisis of development being suffered by the country is a result of the leadership vacuum at the Federal Level .
While saying that he has the training, exposure and experience to lead the country in the right direction, Mr Dankwambo urged Nigerians not to make the error of 2015 when they chose promises ahead of performance.
The presidential aspirant said that he will support whoever emerges as presidential candidate, should it turn out that party delegates vote in a different direction. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/286578-just-in-2019-wike-threatens-pdp-presidential-aspirants-over-convention-venue.htmllalasticlala mynd44 |

ChaleeBendel: @ midolian You're right about non payment of salaries but the input of Davido and Saraki can't be understated. APC camped 8 governors in Osun, sent the VP with TraderMoni, the odds were against Adeleke.
If you think Saraki and Davido's contribution were minimal, how come people voted PDP's Adeleke rather than Omisore? Omisore's party is unpopular. The only parties many recognise are the APC and the PDP.. Omisore got the little he got cos of his personality. You LL agree with me that if Adeleke or the APC Gubernatorial candidate were to contest on the platform of SDP, they won't get quarter the vote Omisore got |
