There's no musical instrument that annoys me like that thing Adeboye is holding. I hate it. There's nothing musical in that instrument...its just noice in the crudest form.

You know very little or nothing nothing about music at all.... Or you listen to too much of Wizkid and the like...

The contemporary pop/jazz/R and B group, Snarky Puppy, used that tambourine in their music video with Salif Keita, thats if you know who Salif Keita is... Everybody in Snarky Puppy has an advanced degree in Music...

Flavour used it in his song "Wiser" featuring Phyno and MI...

Michael Bolton used it in "Soul Provider"

Maybe you meet people who cant use it well, just like a newbie would make noises on a guitar...

Open your heart and let the music come to you....

Religion / Re: Love Your Neighbour As Your Self. by MightyFortress: 2:46pm On Jan 29, 2017
frank317:
I often wonder if who ever gave this law was in his right senses when he gave such order. And to think that it was directly from a supposed intelligent, all knowing creator.

Humans can be good. Humans can be very good to each other, but it is plain impossible for anyone to love his neighbour as himself.

A man can make wonderful sacrifices for his neighbor, but no one can love any other as himself. Once that is done his sole purpose for being a human has been defeated.

Loving ur neighbour as ur self means treating everyone u see equally as urself. How is this possible? People, for some reason prefer some people more than the others. People evaluate others and decide how to interact with them based on perceived good or bad responses. People avoid pain and choose pleasure and loving ur neighbor as urself defeats this principle. If u love everyone as urself, u will be defenceless, and sort of stupid.

If everyone loves his neighbour as himself, there will be no competition, and everyone will act like a zombie. Given the need for survival, it is not possible for anyone to love his neighbour as himself.

Why will the creator give such a dumb law? Did he actually expect anyone to carry it out or was it just for the sake of it?

Ok, now that not even a single person out of billions of his creations has ever actually loved his neighbor as himself, does this creator feel like a failure for giving such law?

Or does anyone this it's possible for we naturally selfish beings to love our neighbours as ourselves?

OP, I'd like you to know the following facts...

1. God's very nature itself is one of Love... A perfect, all encompassing and indescribable love... That is why HE loved the world and gave us HIS only begotten son to die for our sins while we were yet sinners and lost... A perfect display of Love.. If a supreme being could die out of love for humans, it should not be much of a burden for humans to simply love each other...

2. Christ died because HE wanted to, not because he had to.... If you see love as an obligation, it wont make much sense... Pure Love is shown because you wish to... And i dont mean the ordinary erotic love between a man and a woman.. or even filial love...
Your heart is closed, that is why you cant see this love.. Open your heart, its all around you..

3. To understand more of this pure love and to be able to practice it, you need the Holy Spirit... Like you rightly said, its nigh impossible to love anyone as yourself without basic human instincts of self preservation and others, kicking in.... The things of The Spirit are foolishness to those who are in the flesh... seriously, Spiritual principles seem stupid... But of course they were not birthed of logic....

4. God never created us to be dumb zombies.... or to forever struggle and compete with each other... That's your human perspective, not His.. You need to understand The Divine Plan.... Love your neighbour as yourself is a single commandment encompassing all the 10 commandments and every other legal law known to man... Think of it, if you truly love someone or care for him, you wouldn't steal from that person, nor hurt him in any way.. There would be no need for laws against nor punishments for homicide, scams, whatever evil you can think of.. Cos you'll put yourself in that persons shoes and imagine what they feel when being hurt...
By the way, what good has the life of human competition done us? It has led to all the pain and sorrow on earth today..
Human laws cant stop evil.. Only a deep genuine pure love for others can stop us from even imagining to hurt them...
If you only treat others based on how you were treated, remember an eye for eye makes the world go blind..

5. Finally, Religion is not the answer... Spirituality is... We are not just humans seeking for a spiritual experience... We are actually spirits experiencing what it means to be human.. Being called a Christian and being spiritual are too different things entirely... I leave you to find out the difference between the two... If you really wanna
understand why the "Dumb Creator" made such rules"...

May the Almighty, Powerful God capture your heart and pull you into his fold as you seek answers to the questions in your heart... I look forward to your testimony and I will pray for you.. Shalom..

About #100k so far. I am yet to carry out data analysis, submit soft copies not to talk of correction and hard copies.

Topic: Antioxidant effects of methanolic extracts of Terminalia Cattappa leave on Wistar rat with lead acetate induced oxidative stress.

I love the topic, and I might follow it up in my MSc... That's if I see a reason to pursue an advanced degree.

Rephrase your topic to:

"Antioxidant effects of methanolic extracts of Terminalia Cattappa leaves on lead acetate induced oxidative stress in Wistar rats
" Its a lot more reflective of what u are doing..

In M.Sc, you can expand on the topic by comparing the antioxidant effects of Methanolic, Aqueous and N-Hexane extracts...

Then run Gel Filtration chromatography/Thin layer Chromatography + GCMS to identify the active components in the most effective fractions....

I just gave u a free M. Sc topic...

When u are thru, contact me for a Phd topic..

Science/Technology / Re: How Efficient Are Solar Electricity Power Systems? by MightyFortress: 11:13pm On Dec 18, 2016
durodee:
I wrote this analysis actually a few months ago to answer a question about using solar setup for an hair saloon or so. I have modified to reflect current market scenario. Pls enjoy!##

I will attempt to answer this. I have a business that must have power supply 24/7. This is my 6th year and 10th generator (6 petrol, 4 diesel including two 3.5kva, one 5.5 Lister and the biggest is a 15kva diesel.) About a year ago I installed a 5kva inverter coupled to 4 deep cycle batteries and 1.4kw solar panels. This decision I have not regretted as I will analyse below.
First: The CHEAPEST power source in Nigeria is the National grid (Nepa of Old) BUT this is almost always unreliable for business.
Secondly: A good business centre should run from 8am to 6pm or even 8pm if in a school area, increasing the fuel use by 50%.
Thirdly: For his power need he will have to get a bigger gen set than a 2.8kva!!!! Otherwise the generator will be dead in 3 months carrying that load for 8 hours a day. A 5kva gen is more realistic.
Finally: the worth of anything you purchase is more meaningful is considered over a reasonable lifespan. So my calculations will be based over 3 years of usage since the common deep cycle batteries in Nigeria's lifespan is 3 years .
Now to calculations:
Gen 5kva petrol :130-150,000
Fuel@150/L X15L/dayX300 working days per year X 3 years = 2,025,000
Maintenance cost (oil/servicing/parts)@ 50,000X 3= 150,000
Total = @ 2,325,000
That is 2.3 million to provide NOISY power for 12 hours.
////////////////////////////////////////////////
Now to solar - inverter set up that can last for 24 hours or more of heavy usage.
5kva pure sine wave inverter : 200,000
2 X 60amp charge controllers : 200,000
12X 250w Mono solar panels@ 60k: 720,000
8 X 12v 200amp deep cycle batteries : 840,000
Installation costs/ accessories @ 200,000
Total : 2,160,000
That means for the generator person to enjoy 24/7 power over the first 3 years, he will pay 2.3 million X 2 =4.6million compared to solar setup of @ 2.2million with change.
Since solar panels can last 25 years or more, the cost benefits keep accumulating yearly. The only component that you need to change as efficiency reduces is the batteries.
The ONLY negative of solar - inverter power system is the INITIAL cost of purchase and installation. After that comes the enjoyment!!

gud analysis
