The Ever busy Sabon gari market just before the lockdown, during this panic buying 1 measure of gari known as Mudu in Kano can be sold as much as 1200.

The famous Panshekera Underpass
NB. there is another one like this along Katsina Raod

Contrary that to the comments I saw in the previous page that Sabon Gari is dominated by certain tribe from Southern Nigeria, that's completely untrue may be the guy is referring to the 1930s to 1960s Sabon Gari Market (Abubakar Rimi Market) is dominated by the Hausas almost 80% of the shop owners in the market are Hausas even the Sabon Gari township itself is Dominated by Hausa landlords with other tribes being their tenant.
The European has segregated Northern cities into four parts
1. City( Birni): which is for the indigenous people of the town usually surrounded by walls with Kofa(gates) being the only entrance

2. Tudun Wada
A Settler Quarter for people from other part of the North with same culture and religion, it is usually subdivided according to the tribes e.g Tudun Nupawa for Nupe, Tudun Jukun for Jukun tribe, etc but in case of Kano it is just Tudun Wada

3. Sabon Gari
A township for only People with different culture and religion Igbo and Yoruba are mainly found here but most Northern christians have their own Neighborhood in Badawa and other Places

4. GRA
No need for long Turanchi this is for the colonial masters

Kano the Largest City in the North is now under total lockdown, one of the serious issue we are facing now is the issue of domestic water, pipe borne water is inadequate in the state capital hence many households depend on water vendors popularly knowns as Mai-Ruwa in Hausa language now that the Mai-Ruwa are no longer moving I don't know how people are coping with this total lockdown, the Lockdown itself has a serious economic implications on both the state and the neighboring states as well.

I knew something is fishy when people were saying there is no corona virus in Kano, I just ignored them and observed my social distancing and frequently used hand sanitizer, Kano that is third busiest international gateway after Lagos and Abuja and you are telling me that there is no corona virus I won't believed it.

One the day the state government announced border closure, I counted more than 20 luxurious buses coming back from Lagos passing through my area, The Aminu Kano Airport was ever busy that day, and the same along Zaria road hundreds of buses from other states were conveying Kano indigenes back to the state, some were even using their motorcycle from Lagos to Kano wallahi we've seen a lot of them.

It will be a very difficult ride for us here but Allah will see through, I am more concern about daily bread earners which are the majority in Kano, look for example according to State Data there are more than 500k registered Keke drivers within Kano metropolis this is just a fraction of the daily earners, But at the end there are glad tidings

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e., who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones.” [Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, 2:155-157]
