malali: Trump, who isn’t even contesting for re-election, personally came out on Truth Social to direct fuel retailers to slash pump prices immediately, warning them against gouging. He didn’t hide behind his Energy Secretary.
Yet here in Nigeria, the same man who doubles as Minister of Petroleum, and is busy eyeing re-election, has not uttered a single word as marketers exploit Nigerians despite crashing crude prices.
This is the same president whose only real energy is reserved for collecting foreign loans and spending them.
Insecurity killing people daily? Silence.
Inflation choking families? Silence.
No power, no jobs? Silence.
But petrol prices? Not a single official statement from his office. This lackadaisical, tone-deaf leadership is unacceptable. Tinubu should address Nigerians directly on this matter, not through proxies. This has been the main reason why Trump has been soft on Iran, avoiding a full escalation of the war because of possible effect on oil pricce. Otherwise, Iran would not last one month under USA full military fire! |

It is equally on record that Peter Obi graduated with a 3rd class degree in Philosophy. No amount of inconsequential cacophony from obidients can alter those facts. megawealth01: Your NHF Money is Waiting, Here's How to Get it
For all the years in Service, 2.5% of your basic salary was deducted Monthly. It was labeled “NHF” on your payslip.
Most officers retire and never ask about it. But that money didn’t disappear. It’s with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), and you can claim it with interest.
Here’s how:
1. The Money Is Yours by Law
The National Housing Fund Act says every public servant contributes 2.5% of basic salary. When you retire, resign, or turn 50, you’re entitled to a refund of all contributions + 2% interest per year.
It’s not a loan. It’s your savings. But FMBN won’t pay you automatically. You have to apply.
2. Check If You Have Contributed First before applying, confirm if FMBN has your records.
Do this:👇
- Go to the nearest FMBN office with your ID and service number.
- Ask for your “NHF Statement of Account”. - Or try the FMBN portal.... - under “NHF Contributors”.
If your records are missing or wrong, fix it now. Wrong name, wrong IPPIS number, or missing deductions will delay your refund.
3. Documents Needed for Application.
Get these ready:
1. NHF Form 1– “Application for Refund of NHF Contributions”. Get it free at any FMBN office. 2. Retirement Letter from NCS 3. IPPIS Stoppage Letter – Proof you’re no longer on payroll. 4. Valid ID– National ID, Driver’s License, or Passport. 5. BVN Printout & Bank Statement– account must be in your name. 6. 2 Passport Photos 7. NCS ID Card, for example
4. Where to Submit
Take the completed form and documents to any FMBN State Office. If you’re in the North, there’s one in Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri, etc. If you’re in the South, check Enugu, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Benin.
You don’t need to travel to Abuja unless your case is complex.
5. How Much Will You Get?
It depends on your basic salary and years of service.
Example: An AIC in NCS who contributed for 25 years on ₦35,000 basic will get roughly ₦380k – ₦420k with interest. A senior officer with higher basic and 30+ years could get ₦800k to ₦1.5m.
If you took an NHF loan, your contributions were used to offset it first. So check your statement to know your balance.
6. How Long Does It Take?
If your records are clean, FMBN processes refunds in 30–90 days. Delays happen when names don’t match, or deductions were never remitted.
If they delay beyond 90 days, write to FMBN Customer Care and copy the CBN Consumer Protection Department.
7. Important Warnings
Application is free.Don’t pay anyone “to fast-track” it. If you are dead, Service next of kin can apply with a Letter of Administration. Start now, even if you retired years ago. There’s no time limit for claiming it.
The Problem: The Service never educates officers on this. You retire, walk away, and lose money that’s rightfully yours.
The Solution: Share this post. Inform retired Officers.
Check your NHF status today. Don’t leave money on the table.
-ACSIN

ogawisdom: Lol Obi is a major challenger to Tinubu in 2027, we can't talk about 2027 without mentioning Obi.
Obi actually won 2023 election but his lack of capacity to defend his votes exposed his weakness as a candidate. He is too gentle for Nigerian politics and can never be declared president, he is too afraid of prison. A man should suffer and die for what he believes in like Nnamdi Kanu, Sowore, Abiola etc
Courage is tooooooo important in a man
Imagine that Tinubu was able to still rig 2023 when he was not president and Buhari working against him via naira note change.
Now he is fully in charge lol Obi did very very well in 2023. But I am not sure he won. And Tinubu should not have been declared winner either but for the loophole in the electoral system. Tinubu (according to INEC) had the highest votes but not the majority of votes cast (50%+). That is the big loophole in our electoral system that can be exploited by any ruling govt. Tinubu may score 34% and win again even if the opposition (Atiku and Obi) should have a combined score of 66% (33%; 33% each). Anyhow, let the winner emerge by free and fair means. Even if Tinubu would win, let him win clean and fair! Let the people decide freely and fairly. Democracy is crowd wisdom. A foolish crowd may choose a bad leader again and again! That is democracy! But left to me, he has not done well for re-election. But let Nigerians decide! |

Valthegreat: If you are in a contest with an opponent and you know your opponent's weakest point you won't accept to release your solutions for your opponent to copy. I think that's why both Peter Obi and Atiku will find it hard to release their solutions. Also, since some Nigerians can vote for Tinubu just for saying 'bala blu' and all sort of planned gibirish in 2023, it simply means it is no longer an intellectual contest. The weakest point of these Lagos band of kleptomaniacs is that Lagos has enough to resources that can go round the politicians and you will still have enough funds for visible work via more tax or even borrowing. Moreover, a lot of infrastructure are already in place in Lagos and most of the businesses in Nigeria are headquartered in Lagos yielding tax revenue to Lagos so it is easy to make money in Lagos. So applying the same strategy that has seemed excellent for Lagos so far to Nigeria as a whole is the reason for the monumental failure. Nigeria has meagre resources so if you want to loot and still do some projects it will only result in massive borrowing which is what we are witnessing. Anybody that lived his whole life in Lagos can not understand Nigeria not to talk of leading the country effectively. I that came from the south and have lived in the north each time I buy fuel at #1,300 per liter or gas at #1,700 per Kg what usually comes to my is 'how are people in the north surviving'?
As an Economist I have been supporting total deregulation since Jonathan's days but borrowing Nigeria's present and future upon deregulation just to share to politicians instead of investing same in projects with capacity to repay the debts in the future is total economic rape that will hunt this country for decades to come. You are absolutely right about the misuse and looting of the resources. However, "Total Deregulation" is an invitation to total disaster in a inefficient environment or market for a product that has inelastic demand. It does not help any developing country. What is required is supervised deregulation, with the govt still supervising some aspects of the pricing regime for petroleum products e.g. fees, taxes, margins etc you up |

Your submission would make sense to me if you are supporting Sowore and his AAC for President,as that is a real paradigm shift, but if it is Atiku, Obi, Amaechi and Kwankwaso, then you are just a big hypocrite as these leading candidates have the same policies and none of them will birth any new Nigeria. I am even glad Tinubu has the cojones to follow through. I am unsure the others wouldnt have chickened out- a worse scenario.
I dont like Tinubu or his brand of politics. I am highly critical of this government on many fronts. I have no dog in this fight and consider all 'leading candidates' the same, but I credit this govt and the CBN for the reforms that is bringing sanity to the business environment and has seen the stock market boom. This is about the only thing I am currently benefiting from Nigeria and I dont want any clueless candidate to come to office and mortgage that on the platform of cheap populism. The stock market has been booming long before Tinubu became president, partly because of better investor education, enlightenment etc. and the devaluation of the naira over the years has also influenced more people to find a way to invest their money in stocks, bonds etc. instead of keeping it inside the bank with little or no interest, to hedge against inflation etc. The market will still boom after Tinubu is no longer the president because there is huge potential. By the way, every 1000 you make in the NGX right now is the equivalent v=worth of about N200 a few years ago! Prices have increased, so your N1000 of today may not even buy what N200 used to buy. I was shocked when I heard that a bottle of groundnut is now N1,800-N2000. Something that was N300-N350 just a few years ago |

Now, we are asking anyone who wants to come in to replace him to tell us what they will do differently in the next four years, and how. That way, we can choose between them and Tinubu. Otherwise, they should wait till 2031 – we don't want to enter one chance again. Your questions is misguided? What you should ask first, is this: Has the person in govt now fulfilled the promises he made to you? If not, the one in govt right now is the ''one chance'' i.e. the deception. Learn to put more pressure on your govt, so that those who want to come in future would take you very serious and some would voluntarily withdraw from the race because they know the people would be very hard on them when they come to power. But you want to leave the people in govt, alone and have a free pass to keep mismanaging the country |

Any government that took the bold economic and infrastrural development steps earlier listed cant be said to be 'doing nothing'. Lets be sincere to our conscience. While majority of these steps may not have translated into bettter life for the citizens, lets consider the scenario if we have continued with the Buharinomics- borrowing to pay fuel subsidies(an amount surpassing annual budget for health and education), using 97% of revenues to service debts, CBN printing currencies and practically runnign a parallel govt in a govt and having a dual-exchange rate that turned loafers with connections to overnight billionaires via financial round -tripping. We were on the verge of national bankrupcy a la Argentina, Greece and Ghana. People like you are the reason some useless govts still beat their chest that they are performing? Anybody that uses the so called ''boom'' in the stock market as an achievement is totally clueless! How many people are in the capital market, out of the 200m population? Do you know some players in the market are foreigners and only play in our market because of higher capital gains, and eventually move their investments outside the country in foreign currency, also causing more pressure on the naira? A govt that wants credit for 'bold economic reforms'' but cannot tell you the tangible positive results and impact on the economy and wellbeing of the people, must be very clueless. For your information, no govt is elected to carry out ''bold economic reforms'', as you call it. Because poor, reckless economic decisions can also be labeled as ''bold reforms'' to deceive the people. A govt is elected to improve on two fundamental things: the well-being and security of lives and property. So all the so-called 'bold reforms'' would be considered useless if they cannot guarantee and improve the security and well-being of the people. It is like a student telling his parents that he worked very hard and read a lot, but he failed all his exams and scored F9 parallel, but he wants his parents to appreciate that the ''9'' in F9, is a higher and bigger number than the ''1'' in A1. We don't want a repeat of the 2015 saga. APC didn't do that in 2015 – they took power, and everything went south. We don't want to be fooled again. Obi, Atiku, and whoever the PDP candidate is need to tell us what they will do differently and how. Please don't ask me questions that would irritate me! What did PBAT tell you in 2023 that he would do differently before you voted for him in 2023? And after he got the opportunity to become president, what has he done differently or to improve the SECURITY and WELFARE of citizens? It is sickening when you people attempt to make or promote PBAT as a ''standard''! He is nothing better than the rest contenders! The only way to improve governance in this country is to kick out anyone who has worsened the security and welfare condition of the people. If another person comes in and he too messes up, we vote and kick him out as well. We must set the bar very high for public office holders and hold them accountable. You don't reward poor performance with re-appointment or re-election |

ghm: There is a difference between 2023 and 2027. The truth is that Tinubu has raised the bar, and we are now talking about his second term. We have seen what he did and is doing in his first term, and honestly, we like quite a lot of it:
- Subsidy removal - Liberalisation of forex - Tax reform - Capital market rebound (investor confidence) - Nigeria rated B+ – two steps higher than 2023 - Seven banks rated B+ – two steps higher than 2023 - Companies making huge profits after paying staff well - Airline issues resolution - Oil and gas sector reforms (Shell's new $20 billion investment) - NELFUND - LG Autonomy - Lagos–Sokoto Highway - Lagos–Calabar Highway - MMIA reconstruction - Regional commissions in all geopolitical zones - Electricity devolution and decentralisation bill - MREIF 20‑year mortgage scheme with single‑digit interest - Power: estimated billing removal (more stable power in progress) - State Police
Anyone who wants to ask him not to continue must be ready to tell us what they will do differently from what Tinubu is doing (and will hopefully continue). For example: Are you bringing subsidy back? Are you cancelling NELFUND or stopping the two highways? If you can't tell us, then don't come out.
I am sure we will see a landslide even greater than the Ekiti elections in the 2027 presidential election. My brother: why not talk about the increase in the incidence and rate of poverty and hunger in Nigeria between May 2023 and now? About insecurity: the FUNDAMENTAL DUTY of any govt. is to ensure the SECURITY and WELLBEING OF LIVES AND PROPERTY! The president has FAILED WOEFULLY in that regard? What else you want to say? |
