Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by mikel88: 11:34pm On Mar 17, 2017
Please i want to know the CIC applications forms am to fill when applying for visiting visa....

@Kisstaye
I will attempt to clarify this once and for all. When requesting for your passport CIC makes a general statement that your visa will not be issued beyond your passport expiry date. The rule-of-thumb for Nigerian passport immigration office is that if your passport has validity of more than 6 months you cannot renew your passport (some peoplemay have succeeded doing that with passport expiry beyond 6 months, I sincerely don't know how they did it). So if your passport is less than 6 months it's advisable to renew it. But if you have a 1 year valid passport CIC will give you 1 year trv. Which can be extended as soon as you extend your passport with Nigerian embassy in Canada. Nigerian embassy in Canada gives students special consideration when renewing your passport you collect it same day in Ottawa. But for others you buy self-addressed courier envelop and receive it within 5 working days. Then renwal of study permit within Canada is less than 14 days everything done online. So no need to panic focustomers on getting your initial trv. Renewal of trv is not compulsory except that you need it in order to re-enter Canada when you travel out of Canada.
exactly my point but @kisstaye...refused to understand the point I was trying to make... anyways, thanks bro for further clarification.

oga ur reasoning is backwards or ur simply repeating my sentence for the sake of it..PLEASE don't just read also COMPREHEND before writing. have you personally been in the situation before?NO! I have on my most recent visit. let me explain slowly.. if the duration of an applicants passport is not upto the number of years for the duration of trv requested CIC will ALWAYS in 98percent of cases issue you a letter requesting for a passport renewal except if there is another underlying issue relating with the TRV. why double wahala for something that is quite simple. damn!
Mr sabi am not going to exchange words with u...u just as well repeated what am try to pass across and the problem am having with u is that u sound so sure as if u are the VO I understand it cost nothing renewing someone passport before applying provided that the expiration date is not earlier than six months, several applicants on this thread got there TRVs with such condition. I rest my case Mr.forward thinker.

Cheers.

RIGHT! RIGHT! RIGHT!
in most cases you would be asked to renew
baba u get problem o... NOT in most cases what CIC does in most cases is that, they do not issue trv beyond the expiration date on your passport it is now left for the concernees to renew there passport and subsequently get the remaining duration left on there TRVs.

I am so sorry about the refusals. I have been in Canada since 2009 and have somewhat of a good grasp on the immigration system. Surely, it will raise a red flag but be sure to put in enough evidence to show that the marriage is genuine and not a marriage of convenience. Trust me, you will get the work permit, do not panic. Good luck
mevisbleek pls I send u a pm kindly reply

If she comes in August and the two of you wed, you can put in your application for open work permit in January. The earlier you guys wed the better because her visa is expiring in 2017.
Alright. Thank u so much

Hi mikel88, sorry about your ordeal. Do you remember that concern I told you about the last time we spoke on the phone? I think that was in your second application. I felt strongly that was the issue because every other thing about your application looked okay. If your sponsor is based in the UK why don't you want to study in the UK, why Canada? I think that's a question the VO will wonder about, hence the purpose of visit issue. Did you try to get your gcms file? Anyway the open work permit is a good idea, but I think you should give it some time, maybe six months to a year.
thank you... my second application was refused on purpose of visit and family ties at home and Canada while the third one was just insufficient fund I wonder what there problem is. So u do u think her coming August won't be a good idea considering the fact that I was delayed in MAY? Thank you.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by mikel88: 1:41am On Jun 20, 2016
Hello house, please I need your advise on this issue. I have been refused study visa for 3 times now latest being last month (may) and I don't want to reapply again. Now I have my fiance in Canada on a 2 years study permit (November 2015- November 2017) she want to come home this august or December for our wedding my question is can I apply using spouse open work permit ?
Won't it look like a red flag or not? Please advice.

Guy/madam I think you have asked this question b4 and I think they have answered you.
Your TRV can never be more than the validity of your passport thank God you have gotten it. To renew your passport and TRV is very easy for you in Canada (unless you are not going to study ooooo).
Relax your mind go with what you have, renew your passport minimum a month b4 it expire then renew your TRV/Study Visa also you can ask questions at the POE when you get there.
Gurus correct me if am wrong ooo am just a leaner here
u are very right.

Good evening House. Pls I want to know better about the followings, because have been having major conflicting replys, viz;
1) Am presently serving, can I use my ppa as my employment status
2) Can I use my uncle whom is my mum's younger brother (I don't share same surname with him) as my sponsor. If yes, would he have to transfer money into my account or no need to transfer money and just give me sponsorship letter.
3) I heard 98% of applications with sponsor's account are rejected. How true is this? Bcs I won't be having longer period to build my account anymore. I wish to apply by April. Though, I have a salary account, my PPA pay me 20k monthly.
4) How cumbersome is the study visa process. Can I do it alone or request the service of an educational consulting firm or visa agent?
Thank you in anticipation.
1. Yes u can use that my sister used it and please make sure your course is in relation with your undergraduate program or your present job.
2.yes u can no. need to transfer any money to your account just write a mother letter of consent.
3.false. use your nysc salary account my sister used that with just 49k as closing balance.
4.that is at your total discretion to use an agent or not but no biggie as to what an agent will do that has never been explicitly enunciated on this thread before.so choose what is best for u.

This payment is still not going thru o
Even with 15k
has anyone done this with a uba card or I should just transfer to gtb jejely
Advice pls
it obvious u need to increase the amount of money in your account and not 1k to 2 increment. someone on this thread paid the 75CDN and the equivalent amount in naira is over 16k so u moving the money to GTBANK won't solve anything. I hope u understand what I mean.

Pls guys do you know of anyone who received visa approval email & Letter of introduction by hard copy? Most people are saying it may be attached to my passport. Pls assist.
there is nothing anyone here can say or do that will change the decision already made by CIC. Just remain hopeful and wait till your dispatched documents is available for collection.

@AdexStudio and all that already experience the medical process, how do i know if the hospital have already sent my medical result to the embassy? will d embassy send a mail or the hospital?
try get the clinic number and call back to confirm if they have send it and it usually take atleast 2 days after medicals before they forward it to CIC. Consultant practice at ikoyi is okay if u have not chose any.

simply use the tracking number on your VFS receipt to track your application on the VFS website that is the means of knowing application status for paper applicants.
thank you bro. But I heard a mail must be send that your application has been dispatched regardless of your route and I didn't receive any. Please share more light on this.

Here's an idea: To get a study leave letter sample, you could look through the document list of other people on this thread and PM whoever's list contains a study letter.

In any case, here are my two cents for a study leave letter addressed to the embassy. Note that this is just a suggestion and you will customize it to your situation.

First paragraph:
Company states the purpose of the letter (i.e. study leave for John Doe, who has been working for us for X years as a blah blah). Company describes the business they are into, your role in that business, and the significance of what you do for them.

Second paragraph:
Company describes why they are giving you a study leave (e.g. giving John Doe a study leave because he expressed interest pursuing MSc degree in blah blah which we believe would help our business in ABC area when he comes back.). Company says nice things about your contributions to the company and how exactly they think your study leave would help fill a skills gap that they are currently having. Company explains the terms of the leave (i.e. paid or unpaid? length of the leave? etc... the company should be explicit and precise about the terms of the leave).

Third paragraph:
Company says more nice (but realistic) things about you and what role you would be coming back to when you are back from Canada. i.e. same role? will you be promoted? (fyi, they don't have to discuss this if they don't want to... they just have to explain what general area of work they anticipate using your skills in when you come back...).

Fourth paragraph:
Company wishes you the best and endorses your visa application to the embassy.

PS: This is just a skeleton that you should add more to and customize to your own peculiar situation.
awesome ....I really appreciate thank you so much

I've not seen a study leave letter before but I could give you ideas on what it should look like if you want.

Do you want your company to address it to you or you want them to address it to the embassy? This is sort of arbitrary but will determine the format. Let me know and I can give you ideas for format and content. (I'm presuming you would prefer it be addressed to the embassy.) Yes brother to the embassy @teesboy thanks bruv
